Happy New Year to everyone! Friends – Happy 2016! Fascists and banderivets – happy 1945! Pro-globalists liberals, and comprador politicians – happy 1937! Members of the Parliaments – 1917! The international backdrop for this week Ukraine SITREP Twitter is full of loaded statements of the Western “experts” on a subject of Russia naming the US a “threat” in its new National Security Strategy. No, Russia’s New National Security Strategy Doesn’t
To those Saker commentators who detected “anger” in my sitreps, I can only say that you, Ladies and Gents, sound like my psychiatrist: “Scott, what are we going to do with your anger?” One day, I will tell you the story of how we met. Since he comes from one of those countries “civilized” and “liberated” by the West, I explained it to him in no uncertain terms, and he
History teaches us that millions years of evolution can be easily reversed by a meteor or maidan. Today, January 1th, 2016 is the first day without a free trade agreement between Russia and Ukraine. As I have already wrote here, Russia was occupied by the US in the 1990s and forced to support Ukraine to the extent of $100bln annually. Apparently, it’s all ending now. Ukraine finally gets its full
It’s been over a month since my last Ukraine SITREP. and the Saker’s Ukraine SITREP covering the latest “democratic” elections in Ukraine. Nothing has changed since then. It seems that Ukraine experiences Groundhog Day over and over again. Even worse, since Russia has commenced its fight against ISIS in the Middle East, since the beginning of the Middle Eastern and African refugee crisis in Europe, since the Paris terror attack
by Christopher Black for the New Eastern Outlook The Minsk-2 ceasefire agreement is dead but no one wants to bury the rotting corpse. Since it was signed in February of this year the Donbas governments and Russia have bent over backward to comply with the terms of that agreement hoping against hope that the Kiev junta would do the same. They hoped in vain. Poroshenko and his fascist allies instead

by GH Eliason It’s true! President Barack Obama beat Russia’s President Putin to the punch by recognizing the right of Donbas to ascend to the fraternity of nations first. He has reaffirmed this every year he has been in office. The Captive Nations Week Resolution passed by both the Senate and House of Representatives in 1959 and reissued as a Presidential Proclamation every year for the last 56 years (also
(Note: we are still working on getting our future SITREPs organized. So in the meantime I am sharing his amazing story with you – this really blew my mind! The Saker) Translated by Seva Source http://peremogi.livejournal.com/10968040.html What politician would you trust to run your country? Yet another informational tragedy in Ukraine. It started like nothing unusual: the patriotic site “Week.ua” (“Неделя.ua“) organized a vote. Respondents were asked to answer one
Unian reports: Russia should pay for the restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said on Sunday, according to Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda. “As for the reconstruction of the Donbas – I think it is logical to put the question of reparations to the Russian Federation. They destroyed the Donbas, and Russia should pay for the restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk,” Yatseniuk said. “They [Russia] have
There is an interesting word in Russian: вялотекущий. It can be translated as “creeping” or “sluggish”. It is composed of the word вяло which means “lethargically”, or “torpidly” or “apathetic” and текущий which means to flow, to progress. This word comes to my mind when looking at the war in the Ukraine, it is progressing towards some kind of worsening, but it does so in a slouching, slowly creeping way.Novorussian
Warning: the following is not an analysis, it is a “cri du coeur” ! Looking at the photo of the three stooges oh so proud of having “prevailed” over that evil Russia I have very mixed feelings. On one that, I have a sense of immense disgust. No, not for the the Eurobureaucrats or for Poroshenko – they are true to character. No, my disgust is directed at that sorry
I am extremely happy to post today and article submitted for publication to me by Mark Hackard who, with Daniel Spaulding, writes a most interesting blog called “The Soul of the East” whose aim is to translate and spread the writings of such Russian thinkers and philosophers like Ivan Ilyin, Konstantin Leontiev, Lev Tikhomirov, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Walter Schubart and Konstantin Pobedonostsev. I have to confess that when I saw that
(Huge thanks to “CG” who found this text here. The Saker) “Citizens of Donetsk People`s Republic, I address you with a quest. It`s the quest to protect your Motherland, your homes, your families, your people. I have to ask you to do the thing which by all human standards is not required to ask. As it was always an honor in Russia to protect your Motherland and your freedom. This
Today I will begin by looking at how the Ukrainian conflict is covered in the international media thanks to this blog’s network of 55 correspondents and translators in the following regions: Europe, North America, South America, Middle-East, Russia/CIS, Indian Subcontinent, Far East Asia, Oceania and Africa. Below I am reproducing some reports I selected form those which our correspondents sent me. This is our first try at that, so we
