Dear friends,
I need to decide which logo to use on the new blog. Which one do you prefer?
Thanks,
The Saker
UPDATE: it just ‘hit me’ that we are a community, right? Okay – if you want to submit a logo of your own, please do. I make no promises to use it, but if I like it I will add it to the list of logos submitted for comments in this survey of opinions. Deal?

Changed my mind
3 or 6
The best are 3 and 4. Can you use both?
Nr. 4
Number 4 is touching me
Logo 4
7
Logo 4 is aesthetically superior to the rest.
For colour scheme, nothing fits the new site like the first option.
I’m not sure about the font choices and text colours in #2. Not to mention the black background. None of this fits the style of the new site.
I like 3, 4 and 5 but I don’t see anything as polished and fitting to the new site as #1, though I might put a grapevine in his talons instead of arrows and switch the globe for a georgievskaya lentochka.
#4
Whoever put the site together did a really good job with style, colour co-ordination and generally making it look really sharp.
Logo one fits the overall design seamlessly, and none of the others do. Prove me wrong, but they will really cheapen the whole look.
Look at this church, it’s not the most impressive, but I really like it.
http://www.saint-petersburg.com/churches/church-saints-isidor-nicholas.asp
If we started a community poll for a new main cupola and put out a bunch of options each looking like a different cupola from St. Basil’s or the Spilled Blood, each individual cupola might look really great, but not necessarily on this particular church.
i like #4. the emerging light symbolizes hope. and the saker looks watchful and vigilant.
Logo No. 4 for me.
Logo 2
Drop the St George ribbon – the site is bigger than just Ukraine.
#2 looks ‘weak’.
#4 by far the best – the sunrise looks really good & has added symbolism. The Saker needs to be crisper & sharper & hi-res to provide contrast to black background.
The Original!
Could you keep the oversized St. George Ribbon just like in the original site? It emphasizes that Russia is the future.
Logo 3 is the most expressive. Logo 4 is also very good. And that is one impressive bird with the harlequin markings in Logo 5.
How about rotating banners across the top of the website occasionally. Sorry for not helping…
Two (without the St. George ribbon, which deserves it’s own place) or four.
Number 4.
4 and 5 are my favourites.
3 and 4 with text added and it should be “bird’s-eye” for a bird’s-eye view.
Number 6.
Dear Saker,
Number 1,the design is modern. Moderate so that it does not offend. It does indeed suit the design of the new site better than the photographic logo’s.
pb
Logo 1 please! It seems to carry the message of world peace.
Regards
BTW

New username :Redbaron
I like both logos 4 and 5
I like both logo 4 and 5
New user here! :)
The fourth is good but it should substitute its hawk with the hawk from the second. I like the phrase “a global News Community”.
The fifth one with change of text to: the saker.net
As I stated in my first comment on the first go-round. None of these are logos per se. They are banners.
But, they are showing potential to integrate the image of a Saker with the notion of global unity around the life and death of humanity and a return to nature and human values. A vigilant hawk over God’s Vineyard is attractive stuff.
Keep at it folks.
I wouldn’t take a stand around the ribbon or Russia. It is too parochial. Let them discover that elsewhere on the blog.
The sixth one with the chick and eggs and subtle ribbon and “coming to a country near you” is very good. Excellent marketing.
These could slide across the top of the web page in a banner area at some later stage of development. The best four or five.
LOGO 8 Really looks like it is watching the field. Has a no threatening look, after all it is about protecting from predation rather than looking for prey. The colours of St George echo the motto.
Logo 6.
Two seems to be the people’s choice. Am I the only one who prefers Six?
If you use Two, please consider a different font. The script front lacks sufficient dignity, in my opinion.
Dear Saker,
Have you considered rebranding yourself Saker Intelligence Agency :)?

Humorous regards,
Your friend, Charles Mondeley
I have no acess at this time to a photo or two taken by my charming bride a few weeks ago. I will submit them when I return to the family domik. Saker knows when that will happen.
I like logo #4.
I choose Logo number 8. On a more pressing matter, can your team translate the following teleconference, where the Brain tries to communicate with representatives of the junta. Amid increasing information about the preparation of the attack, another attempt to stop the war of words
Here is the link to the teleconference: http://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/1863902.html
Included in the teleconference is Margarita Montyan who is smart as a whip and BTW is running in the elections. Here is a link to her with English subs: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=fc9_1413680500
I like 1 or 3. They are all catchy.
Hi Saker !
I like logo 4 best…then I like logo 7 next best.
I like 3 and 4, also. Perhaps a combination of both.
For the logo may I kindly suggest the following beautiful image:
http://www.tntnphotos.com/wp-content/uploads/bigstockphoto_American_Eagle_239566.jpg
This is in full accord with the fact that “The Saker” site is a highly successful CIA honeypot.
Congratulations!
3. Definitely 3… for some reason I didnt see the rest of the choices when I chose earlier. I really like 3.
Lonkal.
Me too! Because it puts “The Vineyard of the Saker” in true visual context. I really love it!
3&6
3 is a pleasant visual representation that depicts the title of the blog very well.
6 because it’s cute and expresses a great sense of humour.
I like both because they portray the idea without resorting to the “chest beating” of inflated ego or bravado that is, in my opinion, in the other logos.
вот так
Logo 4. Your blog is more of a world community, and the St. Georges ribbon is more particular to the current battle for Novorossia, which may not be the principal item under discussion, or even relevant in a couple of years.
I like most logo number 4, but if you can add the St George ribbon to it, it would be perfect.
I like it because it is the same Saker hawk that has been on your blog for years and so is now familiar and traditional. The background is upbeat and pretty. It just needs the Ribbon to show its Russian theme.
I think #8 says it all. Web address. Stop the war on Russia. The saker. The St. George ribbon.
Thanks for the opportunity to participate!
I prefer #5 but with the Saker moved to the left a bit, and the text from #4 in the top right quadrant. Remove the text for the hyperlink and make the image the link.
Great work for all those taking the time to put some images together.
Number 3 with the text of 4.
Logo 7, purest, best look for this blog.
I prefer logo 8
Logo 4 “A Global News Community” is a refreshing statement of your service and method, and the first rays of the sun over the dawning earth behind the Saker eagle, it’s the most appropriate logo.
I like logo 4 “Global News Community”, which a true description of your site, and the first rays of the sun coming over the dawning earth is a hopeful symbol of what you want to achieve with your Saker eagle eye on the dawning new age.

Thank you so much for asking of the opinion.
I would prefer No 4 + plus ribbon on another side
Must be a totally home-made header image. Not something from available header formats. The No. 4 is just like these

No.7 I get the idea of, but it’s blurry, the bird blends into the clouds.
No.8 is the right idea, but wrong shape. I would be good as top item in the sidebar.
COPYRIGHT guys, copyright. Make sure you choose images which have Creative Commons licences that let you use them. Don’t just steal someone’s pictures.
#4 is way better than #2 I’m switching to #4.
3 or 10
logo 2 => ok. The 5th Gen Saker.
logo-3 => The soaring Saker in vineyard, it is pleasant but not about this blog.
logo-4 => Saker on watch – Best background and Msg, the saker is blurred.
logo-5 => The curious saker.
logo-7 => The Smart Saker, The best saker.
logo -8/11 – The beautiful Saker imprisoned by advertisers.
logo-9 – The Kid Saker, He can try that.
logo 12 – One world ? What next?
logo -10 The Superman Saker.
Last 4
————–
logo 2, 4,7,9
last 2
———
7 – Because of color,Simplicity
9 – Expressive even for the politics/war blog.
Rejected -2 – The soaring/active is more appropriate for military/functional orgs.
Rejected -4 – The Saker is more important than vineyard for this blog. The Saker is blurry here.
winner
——
logo 7 – It is a simple message that captures well.
[the blogspot address and other non-essential text need to be removed. Does the black border need to be there ?]
I first said number 2 was my favorite but now that there are more to pick from. I think I like number 10 better.
Uncle Bob
Still the second, please…
I can’t believe nobody chose 3 because it is such a beautiful and appropriate visual. Except that it would need “The Vineyard of the Saker” across the top and “A Birdseye View” along the bottom. No need to add “of the Vineyard” as that is just a tad redundant. Why not make those simple additions and see if people like it like that?
~ Susan
Actually, a lot of people did like three, I hadn’t scrolled down far enough and kept seeing only votes for 2. Again, the visual is perfect.
I vote 3
I’m for 2.
third one
Logo 4 plus ribbon
number two is very romantic and i understand that a majority prefers it. personally i prefer no 12, i like the cold analytic view.
4, 3 then 10 in that order
I prefer #4, as well. (Also love the little bird with the hat. Very cute.)
pcz
Logo 10. I also like Logo 4.
THREE
The only one that is an accurate expression of the site’s name & among the few that do not have more militaristic/imperialistic looking raptors. Plus, prettiest.
Some of them do look very Roman/Nazi/US style hawks of war. Associating a hawk with a globe will, imo, cause an association for most with conquest not protection/watchfulness/defense.
I like Nr. 3. That is a beautiful vineyard. Gives a good feeling, peaceful, something to care about. Just the saker is too small there :-) Need to change it somehow. Robo_IC.
I vote Logo 6: Because LOL!!!!
no5 is very cool – but also include “Global News Community” on it at the top.
3 and 9
are the best
(vineyard with sunrise, baby bird).
the others just look like you typical juvenile gamer-clan “we are boss” logos.
but of course, you could always rotate the logos too.
Problem with 3,9 is of course they don’t have any text, would need to add some if you want to use them for advertising your site elsewhere.
Logo 4
