A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away a stubborn lord Yanukovich refused to signed an Associated Agreement with the European Union.
Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic of Ukraine. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems from the EU going East was in dispute. Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of the Russian Fleet off Crimea by NATO deadly battleships, the greedy Trade Federation has stopped all shipping to the small planet of Donbass.
While the Congress of the Republic toppled the stubborn lord and replaced him with a dark lord, and proceeded to endlessly debates this alarming chain of events, the Supreme Chancellor of the Darkest lord has secretly dispatched Jedis, Nuland, Ashton, and whatshisname, Tefft [7 (C)] to stir up more conflicts….
The Darkest Lord wasn’t afraid of the repercussions from igniting multiple armed conflicts because his Evil Empire formally withdrew its intent of ratification its signature on the International War Criminal Court (ICC) and declare itself to be a not a participant. They also adopted some laws barring the legal effect to ICC jurisdiction over U.S. citizens and establishing that the Evil Empire cannot be prosecuted for genocide.
The following ensued:
1. Several solar systems have declared their intentions to leave the Republic of Ukraine.
2. This separatist movement, under the leadership of the mysterious Strelkov-Girkin, has made it difficult for the Darkest Lord to take over all Ukraine, but easy to blockade from the EU the entire Parallel Universe called Russia.
3. “War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Ukro-nazis. Evil is everywhere.”
4. “What’s better, a horrible end, or an endless horror?” People of Ukraine decided to surrender to the Darkest lord, because he promised to pay for their better future in a couple of hundred years.
5. Little does Ukrainians know that the population of the GALACTIC EMPIRE got fed up with the refugees from the Middle of Nowhere and with the loss of the lucrative parallel universe’s markets and has secretly begun plotting to hand Ukraine back to the Light Lord of the parallel universe, who could with one magic touch restore peace, fiscal sanity, and prosperity to the whole galaxy. [To be Cont.]
It’s not known and is not being discussed anywhere, but the transfer of Ukraine back to Russia has started over a month ago. First came a revelation about Russia’s preparation of the trial of the century over the war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine. 100,000 witnesses have been interviewed and over 20,000 suspect cases developed. Second, Monsanto withdrew its bids for Ukrainian arable lands. As suspected all along, Yatsenyuk was supposed to change the constitution of Ukraine that bans the sales of Ukrainian lands. It didn’t happened, because a month ago the Kremlin told the Western companies in no uncertain terms that any sales of the state owned Ukrainian arable lands by junta will be reversed and annulled. It also applicable to anything else that considering to be national treasure. I suspect that Ukrainian gold reserve that was taken out of Ukraine and flown to the US on the first night of the military coup d’état will become the subject also.
However, if you bought some Ukraine made slippers or an embroidered shirt you can keep it.
That’s how it come to pass that Netherlands held a referendum deciding on a political marriage with these guys
Netherlands held a referendum and overwhelmingly voted against an Associate Agreement with Ukraine
This is what people at the referendum had been saying:
” Najib Taibi: Netherlands last hope of democracy in Nazi EU !”
“Vichello Subchello: Russian peaceful people, but they are ready to fight for their freedom)”
“RIP Ukraine, enjoi dat 45% inflation, pay your own debts ”
Let’s say it: It’s the biggest zrada (treason) of all.
Rise, Ukraine! Ukraine, get up! Ukraine wake up!
Ukrainian blogosphere exploded with hatred, which was somewhat unexpected considering that a day prior Ukrainians claimed to love Netherlands. They already declared that they will teach Holland to love Bandera, and that Holland will be pro-Ukrainian or people-less.
I even started to worry about Dutch safety, after all, how can soft and pampered Hollanders to stand against hardened bloodthirsty hordes of Ukro-Nazis?
From Russians came an outpour of support for Netherlands and some predictions about of what Ukrainians will do next:
• will re-name Dutch people into “ватник” or quilted jackets, or gewatteerd jasje
• will use slurs directed at ” plebeians” Dutch and Russians, because the Dutch Referendum was organized by the Kremlin and everyone who vote “No” is a Putin’s agent.
• will egg the Embassy of Netherlands in Kiev and to burn their flags
• will burn the flag of Luxemburg
• will ban words “Netherlands” and “Holland”
• will remain “Holland” cheese into “Russian” cheese, and to ban Russian cheese.
• will cut down all the tulips
• will ban windmills
• will dig a deep hole where Holland is located now. This graphic says on the Netherlands flag “404 Country doesn’t exist”
• will make everyone in the country to wear embroidered ethnic shirts every day and twice on Sunday, to make Dutch jealous and regretful
• will dispatch Iryna Farion to Holland to teach them Ukrainian language. “Вільямко! Вільям – то не наш. Вільям збирає речі і їде до Бельгії” After a couple of classes they will sign anything just to make this torture to stop.
• will block all the sales of Netherlands flowers to anyone, and demand everyone to buy Ukraine made paper flowers in pale blue and yellow.
• will ban all the Dutch hallucinogenic mushrooms and marihuana.
• will ban orange color and orange revolutions.
• will try to bring everything back as it was before.
• will start stitching Russian flags
and the most important,
• will change the Ukrainian national anthem “Is not dead yet Ukraine..”
or “Schenevmerla Ucruine!”
for this
Ukraine’s President Poroshenko has been so far like a sacred cow that could do no wrong. It’s all changing now. On April 5th, he has been included in Grabovsky murder list by the Ukraine Salvation Committee. The Grabovsky list comprises persons complicit in the murder of Ukrainian lawyer Yuri Grabovsky [source]
A day prior to the “Panama Papers” revelation in the Western media, Ukro-media came out with their own version in a documentary
Double life of the President: Poroshenko and offshore
Investigative Documentary by Громадского ТБ http://hromadske.tv/
President Petro Poroshenko planned to sell its stake in the Roshen group through an offshore company, not paying taxes on its sales in Ukraine. The transfer of assets to offshore zones occurred during the battles near Ilovaisky. The assets in offshore Poroshenko didn’t declare. International network of investigative journalists of OCCRP, which includes Slidstvo.Info (Слідство.Інфо), gained access to interesting documents. Now we can see the names of the real owners of the companies instead of figureheads.
Hromadske TV is a station that funded by Soros. “Panama Papers” leaks has been funded by Soros. Considering the revelation by Rothschild that Poroshenko works for them… I suspect that Soros is a front for the US government. Does this all mean that the US government is fighting with the Rothschilds? Maybe, this is all about taking over the Central Banks ownership from the Rothschilds? You tell me.
Poroshenko and offshore
On April 7th, Panama Papers: Rothschild defends Poroshenko
“Rothschild Trust, a branch of Rothschild Wealth Management & Trust, on Thursday confirmed signing what it described as a transparent trust arrangement agreement to manage the assets of Petro Poroshenko, an oligarch with business interests spanning from chocolates to television who was elected president of Ukraine following the 2013-2014 Maidan revolution.
The emailed statement follows reports and claims of possible impropriety by Mr Poroshenko in setting up a British Virgin Islands-registered company”
Rothschild Trust acknowledged that it had a trust agreement with Poroshenko on managing his assents. Accidentally, the same agreement to transfer their entire holding to Rothschild Trust also had Khodorkovsky.
According to Poroshenko, this agreement means that his signature has no power, he can’t liquidate the trust, and he has no power over this trust. “Roshen” company is already in this trust, the International Investment Bank 60% of which belongs to Poroshenko, will be in this trust shortly.
This all is somehow connected to the failure of all Ukrainian banks in Kiev to operate on April 7th and 8th.
On Friday, April 8th, Kiev celebrated spring, burned tires, and demanded resignation from Poroshenko. According to the time honored Ukrainian tradition. Ukrainians are freedom loving people and hate rules, laws, authorities, regulations, and science invented by mean Moscals.
April 2016 Maidan in Kiev. Now to be confused with all the other Maidans in Kiev.
Rada deputy Vladimir Parasuk, the same who ripped Russian flag off the Russian Embassy in Kiev, made a proposal to sever the diplomatic relations with Russia. Right before March 30th, the last day when Ukraine can buy Russian gas with a discount.
So, Parasuk’s demarche was a habitual junta’s blackmail to make Russia to extend the discount. The same day somebody threw a hand grenade into his car. He was hospitalized with a “startle.” No one was injured.
Meanwhile, Victoria Nuland, the US official in charge of regime change in Russia, Ukraine, and Europe, has repeated her tactics, this time to put pressure on the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As a result, someone who could be the Turkish special forces in the middle of the night started shooting at both Azerbaijani and Nagorno-Karabakh border controls, killing scores of soldiers and Armenian civilians. These special forces, or per Russia’s government “the third force” also went deep into the territory populated by Armenians and brutally murdered an elderly couple in their home. As if it was bloodthirsty Azerbaijanis who did this. All of these by the book that played out in Ukraine in 2014.
The same time in Ukraine: Turkish warships were deployed to Odessa following the Turkish-Ukrainian military agreement. Two Turkish warships docked at the port of Odessa on Sunday, following the signing of a military cooperation deal between Ukraine and Turkey in January.
Following the docking of the vessels, the TCG Salihreis and the TCG Bartin, led by Rear Admiral Iskander Yildirim, an official meeting between Turkish Navy officers and their Ukrainian counterparts was also due to be held.
in response, Russia made public scores of documents generated by the Ukrainian SBU for the past 20+ years about the anti-government activities of the leader of the Crimean Tatar’s Mustafa Dzhemilev. Documents of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found in Crimea proving that SBU knew that Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar’s leader Mustafa Dzhemilev, was a Turkish spy and worked for Turkish secret services for decades!
European Commission expressed concern, again, over Nord Stream-2 impact on Ukraine’s gas transit. They really want Russia to keep supporting Ukraine, Slovakia, and other mlado-Europeans, as it was before the Kiev putsch to the extent of $100bln in direct and indirect payments. But Putin said “no.” It’s DIY time.
Ukraine and NATO
“One can’t imagine the situation when those countries [Ukraine and Georgia] keep cherishing the hope to join NATO and the alliance really plans to admit them, as this would explode the situation and put Europe on the brink of a crisis, whose size and scale can’t be imagined today,” Grushko said.
NATO is covertly injecting internationals into Ukrainian Military to keep the war on civil population going. Disregard here the pro-junta propaganda and just look at facts.
Meanwhile, same week, a quiet treason is taking place in Ukraine that everyone else missed: The Ukrainian Ministry of defense, which is run by NATO, suddenly has become a target for reform. On March 30th, the defense minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak announced upcoming personnel cuts and recertification of the ministry’s officials.
“I’ve made a decision to optimize the personnel structure of the Defense Ministry and revise functional responsibilities of the ministry’s officials. I have to admit that it is impossible to operate efficiently in such an overstaffed system. The ministry office alone has 770 positions,” Poltorak said.
The minister promises an audit of executive activity, as well as verification of functional responsibilities to eliminate duplication of functions. In addition, standard-setting framework will be analyzed. Those are the basic steps of the reform, according to the minister. In Ukraine doublespeak, they are trying to get rid of all “pro-Russians” and all extreme nationalists.
They say that a decisions regarding the number of the personnel will be made only after re-certification of each individual officer is completed. “Re-certification seeks to determine employees’ conformity with the positions they take.”
That this re-certification is a purge is following from the Pentagon’s intend to use “lie detector screening.”
“During re-certification, the officers will undergo lie detector screening. Once again, I want to emphasize that the aim of staff optimization is not a mere reduction of the number of officers, but a thorough analysis regarding the revision of each officer’s role in the process of carrying out his duties,” the minister said
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman has called the preliminary results of the April 6 referendum in the Netherlands on the ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement as an “extremely disturbing” signal to Ukraine.

4. Ukraine is the occupied territory of Russia
5. Statement of the US Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Pyatt about turning Ukraine into an “agrarian superpower” is an occupational plan to cleanse out the majority of Ukrainian population. It’s a tactic of “scotched earth.”
This opinion was expressed by the Director of the Center of political marketing Vasily Stoyakin.
“If a “great white master” said that Ukraine is actually “occupied territory of Russia,” it explains why they behave as the occupiers, that is, they turn the country into “scorched earth” territory, — said the Ukrainian political scientist. — We saw the statement of Mr. Pyatt about an agrarian superpower. It’s sounds amazingly cool, but now we have a population of about 40 million, and agricultural superpower could feed about 10 million. That is 30 million people somewhere to be disposed of. This is a description of “good” future of Ukraine from Pyatt”.

13. Ukraine’s bank system has just collapsed on April 7
Public Joint-Stock Company Commercial Bank Khreschatyk stopped all operations, and doesn’t releases any funds to depositors. All other banks in Kiev are closed today, also. Ukrainians, who were screaming three months ago about not paying debt to Russia, now can see what default really means.
Donetsk, Lugansk and … Zakarpatje People’s republics?
New populist idea in Ukraine is that junta in Kiev betrayed ideals of Maidan. Now, this is a reversal of fortunes that historically always follows all the revolutions in Ukraine, just like night follows day.
Last summer I wrote about a desperate plea from Rusyns and Hungarians to the world Congress of Subcarpathian Ruthenians and the world Council of Hungarians.
“In Ukraine the ongoing activities of the extremist, pro-fascist organizations create a real threat of deployment of a policy of genocide against the Ruthenians, Hungarians, and other minorities in our region.
We are convinced that the solution to these crisis problems can become a legalization of the results of the referendum of 1991. It means the necessity to develop the region’s Autonomous status. Also, there remain unresolved issues of official recognition of Rusyns, who constitute the majority of the population of Transcarpathia, but remain a national minority.”
“The participants of the meeting call upon the world Council of Hungarians, the world Council of Subcarpathian Ruthenians integrate their structures, to attract political and public circles of the countries that Rusyn and Hungarian communities to take action to help solve these problems.
In particular, it is important to have a corresponding influence on the views and policies of the Kiev authorities, so that the most acute problems of the South-East were decided purely on the basis of the Minsk agreements.”
This week, the deputies from Zakarpatje filed a request to grant an autonomy to the region [source] [source] [source]
In a very troubling development, Kiev junta dispatches to Subcarpathian region battalions of the National Guards, and punitive police battalion Dnipr-1
An official version is that Kiev is concentrating punitive forces in the region to combat illegal amber mining. However, the consolidation of troops follows the region’s demand for autonomy.

marknesop says: April 6, 2016 at 7:06 pm Check out this typically dishonest take on the Dutch referendum, from the Wall Street Journal.
Back in 2014
According to Breitbart.com – “In a crass and ill-timed intervention, the unelected president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has warned Vladimir Putin that the EU intends ultimately to control every country on the western flank of Russia.”
In an interview with De Standaard newspaper, Van Rompuy speaks about his “dreams” that all the Balkan states will join the EU. He calls it an “inspiring thought” that in the long term “the whole of European territory outside Russia” will be tied in some way to the EU.
He admits he does not know if there is public support for such a move, “But we do it anyway.” ”
Last, but not least…

@Scott or anyone else that can remember the video. Some time ago I saw a video where Putin was walking to the front of a hall. As he reached the front row the national anthem started playing, he immediately stopped, level with the front row. A young man was sitting and Putin leant over and tapped him on the shoulder and urged him to stand – not as an authoritarian figure but as a father to a son. Something I have remembered and would like to find it again.
Here’s the address:

I’ve watched that clip several times and never noticed him put his hand on the boy’s shoulder. Beautiful.

Thanks.
Thanks for this Sitrep. The opening ‘Star Wars’ bit made me laugh.
What negotiations are going on to return Ukraine to Russia?
For starters, I suggest that the Gentleman banging and screaming Вставай Украина should instantly be recognized as the distinguished composer of Banderastan’s all-new national anthem. Just imagine the atmosphere as tens of thousands of Ukronazis “sing” and bang in unison!
It’s almost surreal how the Dutch referendum has shed light on the irreversible rot and all-out depravity both in the EU and in Banderastan. A lowlife such as Carl Bildt, whose entire political career is built upon Russophobia and corporate crime (Oil), is a most convincing case in point. As for the Ukro-trash, they deserve all the hatred, contempt, disgust, and ridicule being leveled at them. I guess it must feel lonely now when not even Monsanto would have them — a rotting corpse with the Eurocrats as its only company.
Great SitRep, thanks.

This is big news and will have a an ever escalating domino effect in the coming years. Way to go, Team Putin!

Putin better lease the pope-mobil.
If he pulls this off and lives, he will be up there with the Greatest Man in human history since hesus.
Hell, he might even make the cover of Time Magazine…
Putin is a political giant whose successes are almost incomprehensible. Predictably, less successful creatures are not too happy as he infringes upon their field of “expertise”, so to speak. The following pronunciamento from a two-bit Western ultra-super-duper revolutionary outfit is quite funny in all its impotent rage (emphasis added):

Scott, could you elaborate a bit on your comment that the transfer or Ukraine has started over a month ago? Specifically, how would this play out? Seems that “ukraine” no longer exists as it was a couple of years ago and that it can never be as it was. It is also full of fascists and separatists (pro and not so pro moscow), which means that a new “model” will have to emerge. What would this look like and how long would it take? Especially considering that Americans will keep fighting on the side oh chaos, no matter what they “agree” to…
Dear, Hornet
Yes. I will elaborate on this eventually in my next Ukraine and Russia SITREPs. Please, take into consideration that it depends on data coming from other people and sources.
In the most general terms, as it was voiced by the US Ambassador in UA, Ukraine is an occupied (by the West) Russian territory, populated by Russian people. This is something I have been saying from the day one. This is how the majority of Russians see it, including our President. And, most importantly, this is how it is.
Russian Empire developed and built and fought in wars over the Western and Southwestern territories were Ukraine is located now. Soviet Russia had rebuilt Ukraine after years of so called “Civil War”. Soviet Russia had rebuilt Ukraine after years of German occupation. Back then Ukraine also was, as you have wrote, “full of fascists and separatists.”
The law enforcement in Ukraine including the prosecutor’s general office have already started arrests of the most notorious Nazis and war criminals. Many of them don’t even live long enough to see inside the jails. The more they do, the better. It’s really not a job for the Russia’s law enforcement to run around misty mountains of Zakarpattia, hunting Nazis. Ukraine’s law enforcement themselves are doing this job. Internet makes it much easier. We know who they are, where they live, how they look like. They will be hunted and brought to justice no matter where they hide

Considering, that even the Great patriotic war with German occupation wasn’t that devastating to the population and economy of Ukraine, as the US and EU current occupation.
Russia will rebuild Ukraine again.
Thanks for your reply. I am looking forward to the next and future sitreps, especially the one where US gets kicked out…
“It’s not known and is not being discussed anywhere, but the transfer of Ukraine back to Russia has started over a month ago.”
Several times last year (and maybe 2014 also) I speculated that Russia was waiting out the curret ukro-madness and expecting that this once spent, Ukraine would return to the fold. This being why Russia avoided antagonising Ukrainians, did not encourage Donbass or other regions to split off and generally resisted israeli-american attempts to be drawn into conflict there, both militarily and politically.
Judo is definitely a better way to defeat aggression than boxing is.
Scott, too little on the situation in the Donbass, and no mention made of the rotation of troops last month, including new conscripts at the front?
Ralph,
I’ve decided to post separate SITREPs now on, depending on the situation. Otherwise, one unified Ukraine SITREP gets too long.
Thanks for the informative bread sweetened by your distinctive humour! ;)
Fascinating v v good work…..just wondering if the purge is to make sure that the increasing ukr scheming and military ATO actions are to be more deliberate and rigorous against the Donbass eg Basurin reporting increasing recon and sabotage ukr army groups(probably as a result of canadian and uk training)who are increasingly suffering economically and healthwise etc.Note big rise in illness eg polio and tuberculosis in ukr.
Hmmmm…I wonder if we can look forward to future Scott articles when he can get access and opportunity to study the Rus archive that Putin had authorised release of…..
Scott,

I have kept a version of this in my youtube “Russian” playlist for a good few years which include:-
National Anthem of USSR
ЦВО МО РФ – Марш “Прощание Славянки”
“Farewell Slavianka” (“Прощание Славянки”) subtitle in Russian/English (2009)
Прощание Славянки(2013)
The Russians do this sort of thing far far better than anyone else.
If the Russians entered the National Anthem in Eurovision, they’d win hands down.

“I am extremely worried about the situation on the border with Crimea in connection with the arrival of SAM systems. I want to warn everyone that today’s bloody Kiev government is ready for anything and will stop at nothing. If a plane is shot down in the skies over Crimea, you know that the responsibility for this will fall on the current leadership of Ukraine: the President, the government, and Parliament,” said Zhuravko.

The OSCE special monitoring mission (SMM) reported that they had recorded in the Donetsk region the largest, since the autumn of last year, the number of ceasefire violations, including those with the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
‘The SMM continues to record violations of the ceasefire, in particular, this Friday there was recorded the largest number of violations since the autumn,’ said the first deputy head of the mission Alexander Hug.
‘We also observe the presence and use of weapons which should have been withdrawn long ago. It is the duty of the parties, rather than of the SMM; it is the parties responsible for the implementation of what they signed, in particular, the observance of the ceasefire and the withdrawal of weapons. The SMM works with all those involved, calling on the parties to fulfill the obligations they took on in Minsk. The SMM, within its mandate, is ready to support the parties and promote a dialogue between them,’ says the statement of the mission. ”

The lack of progress in the Minsk process creates huge risks for an intensification of military operations in Donbass. The director of the Ukrainian institute of analysis and policy management Ruslan Bortnik leaves open such possibility of the sequence of events.
I wouldn’t like to predict anything, but the numbers of troops and the dismantlement of the situation like in Nagorno-Karabakh is observed. The certain part of elite on both sides of the conflict doesn’t have an alternative today. The first Minsk Agreements have been established after Ilovaisk trap, the second Agreements after Ukraine’s defeat in the Donetsk airport and Debaltsevo. I leave open posiibility that also the third Minsk agreements may be expected, but at first there will be an escalation of the conflict if there isn’t any political decision. And it seems to me that Europe has relieved its pressure today and the efficiency of the intervention of the Norman Quartet in the negotiation process has nullified. It means there will be an unleashing of war.”

“”I urge all parties to adhere to the agreements concluded and to immediately suspend all military operations. Permanent truce is urgently needed in order to finally apply the political commitments made at the conclusion of the Minsk agreements, “- said the representative of Germany to the OSCE Gernot Erler.
He also noted that the recent shelling of a car of the Special OSCE monitoring mission is “totally unacceptable” and recalled that all parties must ensure the safety of unarmed mission staff, as well as free and unlimited access to the entire territory of the conflict.
Earlier, the OSCE observers CMM in Ukraine said that their drone, which monitored the situation on the demarcation line in the Donbass, Ukrainian law enforcers fired near the village of Golden, which is under the control of the APU. “March 21 drone mission came under small arms fire near the village of Golden. SMM heard 50-60 shots from small arms, which, according to observers, proceeded from the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “, – the press service of the OSCE.”

“Although Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation as the prime minister of Ukraine on Sunday, this could be part of a bigger political game and he might still stay as the country’s leader, Ukrainian political blogger Dennis Schedrivy told Radio Sputnik.
One thing to know is that when it comes to Ukraine, nothing is really certain, the Ukrainian blogger explained to Sputnik.
“I think we should all realize that this is part of a big game. This isn’t the first time Yatsenyuk tried to [resign],” Schedrivy told Radio Sputnik.

US Vice President Thanks Yatsenyuk for Service
Although he might have submitted the application for resignation, the Ukrainian parliament and President Petro Poroshenko still have to approve Yatsenyuk’s resignation for it to be effective, the blogger added.
Another key moment to remember is that nothing in Ukraine happens without the approval of foreign powers, in particular the United States which essentially controls the Ukrainian political sphere.
“The level of external control of the country is unprecedented and whatever happens inside Ukraine has to be in line with what the external control wants in Ukraine to happen,” Schedrivy explained, saying that until the US government approves Yatsenyuk’s move, nothing is really certain.
Volodymyr Groysman, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, was mentioned in local media as the next possible prime minister. Schedrivy said if Groysman ends up replacing Yatsenyuk, President Poroshenko will gain more political power since Groysman is his close ally.

Nine Reasons Why Yatsenyuk Resigns as Ukraine’s Prime Minister (VIDEO)
As of recent, things between Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk have been strained. In February, the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (the political party led by the president) said the work of the Yatsenyuk government was unsatisfactory and he supported a vote to dissolve the government. As a result, a no-confidence vote was called, which the Yatsenyuk government survived.
Besides Poroshenko’s own man, Groysman, Finance Minister Natalia Jaresko, born and raised in the United States, has also announced her willingness to become prime minister.
The intrigue for the prime minister’s post is expected to be hot in the coming days and weeks. However, according to Schedrivy, there is little hope that things in the country will get better with a new prime minister.
“Whatever happens won’t change things for better for common Ukrainians,” Schedrivy told Sputnik.

KIEV, April 10. /TASS/. Resignation of Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has been obviously approved by the West and may mean that the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) has reached an agreement on a new parliamentary majority, a Ukrainian political analyst told TASS on Sunday.

Yatsenyuk says he resigns as Ukraine’s prime minister
What Yatsenyuk’s resignation may mean
“His resignation may mean several things. First, there is a new coalition in the Verkhovna Rada of about 230-240 votes which includes (Yatsenyuk’s) People’s Front and most likely it will keep and even expand its quotas in the government,” Ruslan Bortnik, the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Political Analysis and Management, said. “Apart from that, Western partners are likely to have approved this resignation.”
He said the West’s consent may indicate that it wants to “preserve Ukraine’s entire political system” on the backdrop of offshore scandals and dropping ratings of President Petro Poroshenko and the coalition parties after their failure to send Yatsenyuk to resignation.
What will be further
Following Yatsenyuk’s resignation, the Verkhovna Rada is likely to finally form a new constitutional majority which however will be far from ideal. “We will have a coalition of two forces (People’s Front led by Yatsenyuk and pro-presidential Petro Poroshenko Bloc) with pary switchers from other political forces,” Bortnik said.
He said the majority will be “very formal and unstable,” even if it has 230-240 votes when 226 votes are needed to pass resolutions. In his words, the reason for that is the fact that lawmakers are ignoring sessions. Moreover, he noted, the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction has a considerable internal opposition of at least 20-40 lawmakers who don’t vote with the rest of the faction. The People’s Front will start to collapse as it has only pressure groups but no leader without Yatsenyuk, the expert noted.
Such a formal coalition, in his words, will only create problems in lawmaking activities, hence “there will be another coalition – a market, minute-serving one which will be formed ahead of voting these of those issues.” “The parliament is going to turn into a kind of a marketplace,” Bortnik said.

Temporary respite
In any case, a new prime minister and his cabinet will be only a temporary solution to the political crisis in Ukraine, the expert noted. “The new government, and even [parliament speaker Vladimir] Groisman [a key candidate for prime minister] will not be able to resolve the problem of the conflict over liquid economic resources and remedy the confidence crisis of pro-Western parties. So, the new cabinet will give the authorities only a temporary respite,” he said.
As a result, according to Bortnik, will have to face early parliamentary elections. “It will take about six months for the people to get to know the new prime minister better but in any case only early parliamentary elections will be able to undo this knot,” he stressed.
Legal immunity
The expert noted that Yarsenyuk is likely to enjoy legal immunity until the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada. “Yatsenyuk is sure to be the one to blame in rhetoric. As for legal liability (for his economic mistakes over the period of his premiership), this subject is obviously part of the agreement on his resignation,” Bortnik noted, adding he means “Yatsenyuk’s and his team’s legal liability.”
He said Yatsenyuk has been granted such immunity by President Petro Poroshenko but “after early parliamentary elections, after the change of power, criminal cases will evidently be opened over many actions of the former prime minister and attempts will be taken to bring him to responsibility.”
Will he flee or not?
It is not ruled out that Yatsenyuk might flee the country out of fear of criminal prosecution. “He will not flee under the current coalition, but he will eventually do it under the next coalition,” the political analyst said. “As long as the People’s Front is member of the coalition, as long as the system is controlled by President Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk will stay in Ukraine. And later on, he is likely to share something in between the fate of Pavel Lazarenko (Ukraine’s former prime minister convicted in the United States for financial fraud) and the fate of former President Viktor Yanukovich,” he said.

KIEV, April 11. /TASS/. Program statements of candidate for Ukrainian premiership Vladimir Groisman mention no concrete measures to help the economy out of a system crisis, Ukrainian experts told a news conference on the future of the parliamentary coalition and the government on Monday.
“Groisman’s advisers have not prepared a coherent program for him. There is no specifics in his statements,” Denis Kiryukhin from the Kiev Centre for Political Research and Conflict Management said referring to the potential program presented by parliament speaker Groisman to leaders of factions in the parliamentary coalition on March 25.
He said the text “said nothing distinct about the strategy for industrial restoration, import substitution, the development of science-intensive productions and many other things”.
“Ukraine is not Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia – the country with the population of 40 million people will not get out of the crisis only through the development of small and medium-sized businesses as well as agriculture,” the political analyst said.

He also pointed to Groisman’s knowingly vulnerable policy in the social sector. He believes the new cabinet will act “the same way as the government of Yatsenyuk, that is to say not in the interests of the citizens of his country”.
Drawbacks in the program of the future government contain “systemic threats to the social-economic development of the country, and this creates a basis for a new spiral of political fight,” suggests the analyst.
“We don’t understand what the new coalition and its government will be doing,” the director of the Situations Modeling Agency, Vitaly Bala, said. In his view, the political class in Ukraine on the whole lacks a clear economic strategy, which is the main problem for the country. “It is senseless to consider any of their statements as these authorities don’t set goals and tasks for at least a next few years,” Bala said.

KIEV, April 12. /TASS/. The negotiations on the composition of the new Ukrainian government of Vladimir Groysman have been deadlocked, member of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) from Pyotr Poroshenko Bloc Sergei Leshchenko has said.
“Nothing is going to happen today. Groysman and the presidential administration argue over who will appoint the loyal ministers, “Leshchenko said.
Members of Petro Poroshenko Bloc say that the voting for Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s dismissal, the appointment of a new prime minister and government will take place on Thursday.
Lawmakers earlier said that the parliament would dismiss incumbent Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Tuesday and appoint Vladimir Groysman head of the government. Groysman is to be replaced by Andrei Parubiy (the People’s Front party), while Irina Gerashchenko (Pyotr Poroshenko Bloc) is to be appointed first vice speaker. The People’s Front agreed to vote to Yatsenyuk’s resignation only in a package with the appointment of a new prime minister, the coalition and the composition of the Cabinet.

The International Criminal Court in the Hague has refused to open a case against Ukraine for the war in Donbass. This was declared by the Prosecutor of the ICC on Friday, responding to the request of the Russian lawyer Igor Trunov,
The claimants accused the Ukrainian government of crimes against humanity, as well as the use of weapons of mass destruction that resulted in the deaths of civilians, among whom was an employee of the Red Cross. However, the Prosecutor’s office saw no reason to instigate proceedings.
“I submitted to the court crimes against humanity and the use of weapons of mass destruction on the territory of Ukraine.
I received a reply from the Prosecutor stating that the alleged violations do not fall under the jurisdiction of the court. The Prosecutor established that at present there are no grounds for the further study of the issue,” Trunov said, as was quoted by the Russian media.
The Prosecutor in the letter explained that the ICC is governed by the Rome Statute, the feature of which is that the court may exercise jurisdiction in respect to international crimes only if the court’s jurisdiction is recognized by the state in whose territory the crimes were committed.
The Prosecutor stated that “in relation to the described situation, none of the conditions have been met”.
“None of the conditions have been met in relation to the described situation. The alleged violations do not fall under the jurisdiction of the court, the Prosecutor established that at present there are no grounds for further consideration of the question”, stated the answer of the Prosecutor.
At the same time, the Prosecutor stressed that the court granted the information’s storage in the archives, and the decision on the application may be reconsidered if new facts give reason to believe that the alleged violations fall under the jurisdiction of the court or if a statement is given by the UN Security Council. He also recalled that the ICC complements national jurisdictions, rather than replaces them.
As a reminder, earlier Petro Poroshenko had the foresight to worry about the draft Law on amendments to the Constitution, according to which Ukraine has postponed the ratification of the Rome Statute in the coming years.

The Ukrainian Agency of military information “Defense Express” has declared Turkey the “master of the Black Sea.” It was stated in a publication of the agency dedicated to the recent visit of the Turkish Navy ships to Odessa, reports The Politnavigator.
The newspaper reminds that last week there was held a two-day visit of a group of Turkish warships to Odesa as part of the air defense frigate-PLO TCG «Salihreis» and anti-submarine corvette TCG «Bartin».
Almost simultaneously with the visit to Odessa, ‘the Turkish fleet full-scale marked its presence in all ports (except Russian ones) of the Black Sea states: the Turkish ships went to Batumi, Constanta and Varna,’ specified the publication.
‘In the diplomatic language, such actions are called the flag demonstration, it is one of the tasks the Navy, in this case, the Turkish Navy, is designed to solve in peacetime. And it has demonstrated, say, “who’s boss”,’ said the reproof the Ukrainian “military experts”.
According to them, in such a way Turkey has also shown the support of its allies, in particular, against the background of the increasing conflict in Nagorny Karabakh.
‘This is, of course, also the support of Ukraine and Georgia. The Turkish Navy continues to lead with confidence in the region, while maintaining a quantitative and qualitative superiority over Russia in the Black Sea, despite attempts by the latter to change the balance of power in its favour. And for the foreseeable future, this superiority is likely to continue,’ rejoices the Ukrainian media.

KIEV, April 12. /TASS/. Ukraine has lifted temporary restrictions from its moratorium on the payment of its foreign public debts, including a $3 billion debt to Russia. According to an explanatory note to the relevant draft law, 242 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) voted for the bill. For the approval of the bill 226 votes would be enough.
Initially, the temporary moratorium on payments on the foreign debt was valid until July 1, 2016.

According to the authors of the draft law, the abolition of the end date of the moratorium “will renew the legal basis for the search of new ways of restructuring the external debt.”
According to representatives of “opposition bloc” adoption of this law means Ukraine’s default.
“This is a unilateral refusal to fulfill the obligations on foreign loans. Voting for this law is the recognition of default,” deputy Alexander Dolzhenkov said.
According to another deputy of the opposition bloc Mikhail Papiev, the end date of the moratorium on the payment of foreign debt should be mandatory in the legislation of Ukraine.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine in the four years was to pay $30 bln of external debt, including the $3 bln debt to Moscow. On December 18, 2015, the government of Ukraine introduced the moratorium on the payment of Russian debt.

When news of the Dutch rejection of Ukraine’s European association agreement broke, in a solemn video address to his unhappy people, President Poroshenko, reprimanded the voters for betraying Europeans values, confident that the government would go against the popular will and ratify the treaty.
A popular Russian website posted a compilation of the statements made by Western, Ukrainian, Russian and Novorossyian officials and citizens on the results of the Dutch referendum. They range from panicky to pathetic and humorous.
Dmitry PESKOV, Press Secretary for the President of Russia: We do not interfere in any way in the sovereign relationships between the Ukraine and its European partners. We can only smile sadly at those who see ‘the hand of Moscow’ everywhere.
Maria ZAKHAROVA, Director of Information and Press Department of the MFA of Russia: For political science and the study of contemporary international relations, this is an incredibly curious moment. The only thing that is deeply regrettable is that this experiment is being conducted on the live, non anesthetized body of the Ukrainian people.
VAN REIN, BLOGGER: My civic duty is to vote No.
Nigel FARAGE, leader of UK Independence Party (UKIP): Exit polls in Holland showed the big NO. Hurray!
Alexander PEKHTOLD, leader of Dutch political party Democrats 66: No means No. We should consider the will of people.
Emil Remer, leader of the socialist party of the Netherlands: People wanted to show the government that the Ukraine is too corrupt to conclude an agreement with.
Dalia GRYBAUSKAITE, President of Lithuania: Today we heard the results of a referendum in the Netherlands. We all wish it had been different. However, this is no time to give up hope or doubt the choice Europeans made in relation to the Ukraine. The Ukraine was always a part of Europe and will remain so. Lithuania and all of Europe will be on your side. Glory to the Ukraine!
Nicolay AZAROV, ex-Prime Minister of the Ukraine, a political emigrant: It’s a serious blow to our country’s reputation and prospects. The worst is that this happened in the Netherlands – a country that was always friendly towards the Ukraine by tradition. I worked on this agreement for two years. There were many positive provisions, but some elements led to the suspension of the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement. First of all, the then leaders of the EU forced us to choose between the EU and Russia. That was a fatal choice. Confrontation with Russia was a dead-end for us as well as for Europe. The current Kiev regime continues on the road of conflict, and Europeans understand that well. Hence, these results.
Mustafa NAYYEM, member of the Verkhovna Rada: No matter what the final turnout is in the Dutch referendum, its results will be a verdict on Petro Poroshenko personally. Not on the country, nor the war, nor the citizens of the Netherlands. This verdict is intended for the president of the country who, after being in charge for two years, systematically chose between the past and the future, screaming at the people who form civil society and the new generation, choosing oligarchs as his partners. The most important thing is not to get hysterical, but to clench our teeth and take responsibility. If and when we are able to do that, the citizens of the Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht who voted against us will regret today’s results.
Vladimir KORNILOV, Ukrainian political analyst: I was waiting to see how the Ukrainian agitators who spent the last few weeks in the Netherlands would comment on the defeat. I think I know what they would say: it’s the Poroshenko-Klimkin-government-Putin (of course, Putin) who are to blame. Some have already laid the blame on Poroshenko.
But will they ever say they’re to blame? Do they think that if it was not for their agitation, there would not have been 3-4% too few Dutchmen voting ‘for, or the referendum wouldn’t have taken place? I’m just curious: do any of them recognize his complete stupidity?
Mikhail BUDARAGIN, Russian publicist: The results of the Dutch referendum were predictable. Everyone is sick and tired of the Ukraine; even the Dutch, who are not very pro-Russian, showed the Maidan activists to the door.
Regarding the Ukraine, the question is: Who shot down the Boeing M-17? We still don’t have the answer, and fools are still screaming: “It’s the militia that shot it down! We have evidence: a Twitter screenshot!”. Well, I’m a patient person, I can wait. We’ll see the final verdict, right?
Egor KHOLMOGOROV, columnist of VZGLYAD: Something tells me that the Dutch knew who shot down the Boeing.
Alexander ZHUCHKOVSKY, Donbass militiaman (jokes): According to my source, during the run-up to the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement referendum, voters were paid 25 EUR for a vote against by the FSB. Besides the payments, they also used blackmail and intimidation. There may also have been pressure from the Kremlin on the members of the referendum commission during the vote count.
According to my source, the results were fudged, on Vladimir Putin’s orders and under his personal control. Please, spread this information – the people of Ukraine need to know the Truth.
Andrei RYURIKOV, Ukrainian Internet user: The Dutch showed that Europeans treat Ukrainians worse than the Blacks and Arabs they have accepted for more than forty years, as if we were cannibals. Is this how they treat people who overthrow legitimate power, spit on the Constitution, kill dissidents and vote for thieves, murderers, a political fringe and beggars to lead the country? Or are you saying that Europe loves us and is waiting for us? I don’t think so!’

Poroshenko: Referendum in the Netherlands no obstacle for Ukraine on its way to EU
THE HAGUE, April 14. /TASS/. The Dutch government plans to embark on talks with European countries to amend the association agreement with Ukraine, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Thursday after debates in the parliament.
The discussion centered round the results of the recent referendum where more than 60% of voters were against association with Ukraine.
The referendum on ratification of the EU-Ukraine association agreement was the first vote organized under the Dutch Consultative Referendum Law. It was held on April 6 and official results were announced on April 12.
The turnout was 32.28%, or slightly over the 30-percent threshold needed for considering the vote to be valid. Thus, the EU-Ukraine deal was rejected by 2.5 million people, or 61% of Dutch voters, whereas 1.6 million, or 38.21%, backed the agreement.
The referendum results are non-binding on the government.
