I’ve already watched both programs. RT, along with PressTV are the best networks for obtaining north American and European news. I gave up long ago, along with millions of other views, on US based networks. Their endless stream of American triumphalism,one sided and propagandist reporting, censorship by omission and focus on celebrity/pop trash culture offends my sensibilities. I do not have time to waste watching trash TV.
RT is biased towards Russia, to be sure, but is more balanced than any other major network, hence one of many reasons for its stellar growth.
I liked the cross-talk, as it gave an overall picture of what has happened in Ukraine.
I’m worried about Europe now that the Nazis have been able to grow. This is from Sweden:

Can not Refuse At the last local elections got micro party into one representative of one local council. But the seat remains vacant, it was soon apparent that the candidate was living in the wrong municipality.
Now set the party list in at least 35 municipalities and the Swedish Education and Training, The Agency has determined that the neo-Nazis must be involved in school debates.
OK, religious interlude over I know; but I thought readers and Saker might nonetheless appreciate this video clip. It’s from a BBC production of Alan Bennett’s play ‘An Englishman Abroad’, staring Alan Bates as Guy Burgess (the spy who fled to Moscow) and the actress Coral Brown as herself. It is based on an actual and chance meeting between the two in Moscow in 1958 when she was on tour with the RSC and is an absolute gem of pure dramatic art. This clip shows Burgess escorting Brown back to her hotel after a truly bizarre afternoon lunch together at his tiny and seedy flat, by way of an orthodox church service. Pathos in abundance with the stiff upper lip in danger of folding. I heartily recommend the entire production.
Saker, I would love to know your big picture view of Putin’s trip to China, the gas deal, the threat to the dollar etc… I’m thinking we crossed the line in the Ukraine and Putin decided to close the China deal after a decade of talks in a definitive sign of commitment to the east…what do you see as the causes and effects of these deals (if you have a moment to opine :)
