This is great stuff! RT reports:
Ukraine ready to impose sanctions against any transit via its territory, including air flights and gas supplies to Europe, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Friday. Ukraine’s Parliament will vote on the sanctions on Tuesday. Kiev has also prepared a list of 172 Russian citizens and 65 legal enitites to put under sanctions for “sponsoring terrorism, supporting the annexation of Crimea, and violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk said at a briefing on Friday. Proposed sanctions include asset freezes, bans on certain enterprises, bans on privatizing state property, refusing to issue licenses, and a complete or partial ban on transit- both aviation and gas.
Let me see if I got this right: the US/EU impose sanctions on Russia because Russia does not stop the Novorussian Resistance. In retaliation, Russia imposes sanctions on the EU and a ban on Ukie overflights over Russia. And in response to that, the Ukies prevent gas which the EU badly needs and which it paid for from reaching the EU. Who will get hurt by that? The EU, of course. So, in fact, these idiots in Kiev, no doubt under US orders again, are now strengthening the Russian sanctions against the EU! We can think of it as “Russia cutting off gas supplies to the EU in a way for which it cannot be blamed”.
Beautiful, no?
The wave pain for the EU is now slowly turning into a tsunami of mutually reinforcing problems.
Well, the sure deserve it. As I said yesterday: you wanna be Uncle Sam’s bitch? Pay the price!
The Saker
Are you saying that Putin is the new Hitler ????
Depends what you believe about Hitler.
Just to mention some of the weird things that Putin has done.
Putin removes troops from the Ukraine border.
This is Putin giving the green light for coup-Ukraine to begin military action. They did not dare attack before this.
Putin asks for his parliamentary permission to invade coup-Ukraine to be rescinded.
This is Putin giving the green light to fully fledged assault on the south-east.
Putin allows coup-Ukraine troops to be recycled to the Ukrainian front.
This is Putin doing more of the Hitler thing.
More and more it looks like Putin is on the other side.
This is what Iranians concluded about Russia; namely, that there are TWO Russias. One that pretends to be on the Iranian side, but isn’t, and one that is.
A liveJournal article claims Der Spiegel is presenting 3 proposals to resolve the current crisis over Ukraine.
(Yandex translation)
1. The West, for its part, recognizes that the accession of Russia to the Crimea is an accomplished fact (and therefore not subject to revision).
2. Russia should not hamper Ukraine’s rapprochement with the EU, but Ukraine should not join NATO.
3. Russia and Europe must work together to develop new security structure in case of need, without U.S. participation.
Basho 09:45 pointed out Der Spiegel is a rag and it was not possible to post anti-US comments. This stance gives greater credence to 3 options compared to publication in a pro-Russia rag.
Well for those who wondered “why” the “EU” i.e. Germany/France…
“agreed” to impose the sanctions on Russia-here is your (big part of the)answer…”Somebody”..is using the puppets’ “voice”-no other than “our own” Yats-to publicly! threaten and blackmail the “EU” that very bad things may happen if they change their mind…
Of course The Empire is safe -sheltered on Her Island, secured with the North sea shelf gas…And the Big proxy over the Atlantic playing the lead role…

Strelkov admits to being surrounded? Uki victory imminent?
Now the German news publisher Der Handelsblatt chimes in with “The West is on the Wrong Path”. This is a center-right outfit.
It points out
i) The politics of escalation does not have a realistic goal, and harms German interests.
ii) US and EU interests are not the same. US politicians such as Clinton demonize Putin for reasons of domestic politics.
iii) Sanctions are strengthening Putin’s position. “This could almost lead you to think that the rabble-rousers of the West are on the payroll of the Russian secret service.”
etc, etc.

Seeing this all over Western Corporate media
What’s the scoop
Anonymous 10:09
In case you did not notice, Mr. Putin is holding to the letter of the law, both international and Russian Federation. No ‘official’ war, no internment. However, several officers and sarjanti are being held for investigations of war crimes and crimes under RF law, to wit, using white phosphor and cluster munitions against the civilian populace, deliberate targeting of civilians in civilian areas using MLRS and artillery, the murder of a Russian citizen, the wounding of 7 Russian citizens, destruction of property belonging to RF and civilians in RF, and the killing of prisoners. For starters.
To be quite honest with you I don’t give a damn what Irak, PRNK, DPRC, Pakistan, India et al do, I am only concerned with what goes on in RF and the surrounding AO.
That being said, I doubt very much that in future Ukes running for the RF border will be allowed to cross the wire. If they do manage to get in, Siberia is pretty vast and there’s always trees to count out there.
There is another possibility not mentioned here, that the US is trying to kill 2 birds with one stone.
1. Weakening and splitting Russia into small harmless countries, that is known foreign policy.
2. Weakening Germany economically and politically within the EU
Clearly the US does not trust Merkel and her working relationship with Putin. The closer western allies of the US in the EU like the UK, must not me comfortable with Germany’s de facto leadership of the EU. So there is motive and opportunity.
Don’t forget the USA which are being the gas transit cut are also fracking like crazy in Ukraine to be able to replace it before the hell they created freezes.
And they are also pushing other European countries to do the same, and/or might sell them Ukrainian fracked gas and oil once the production can grow large enough.
Does RT say where they got their information from? It seems stupid beyond measure that Kiev (Federal Reserve Systems Group) would cut off or increase the price it’s ally/creditor would be paying for a major percentage of it’s energy economic lifeblood. Rather than driving a wedge between the E.U., dominated by Germany, and Russia, this tactic may cause Germany pause to reassess his position in regards the empire.Perhaps this is a test of the E.U.’s commitment to the imperial order despite the empire’s crumbling institutions due to the greed of it’s money mater rulers.
Absolutely lovely.
The real power and significance of that ukratine move isn’t that the kiev regime is stupid – they are not. They are corrupt whores and slaughters but not stupid – but that it bluntly frigging clearly shows that the uza don’t care a batshit about their “friends and partners”, the eu.
This immensely increases the pressure on the eu puppets and crooks and all but takes away any chance to continue playing the “uza is our friend” card and selling out ca 500 mio eu citizens to the u-zio-sa.
And it utmost pleasantly brings up the question how desperate and in how deep a sh*t-pit uza must be to bluntly let go the nice we’re-friends mask. Obviously uza is in it’s final convulsions.
As I many times said, the uza isn’t a superpower of any kind since quite some years – its only real weapons are propaganda, image, aggression, and the tricks of a cheap magician.
The fact that they now openly turn against their “friend” (or more correctly “obedient vassal”) eu indicates that they are morituri.
A word to the europeans: Careful! As soon as usa and eu break the politicians will try to get away with some blabla and maybe some new faces. Don’t let that happen! The merkels, camerons, and other dirty whores must be nailed and jailed.
@Anonymous 10:09
There are many laws that do apply that do apply here but the fact is that the Kiev Regime has not “officially” declared war on behalf of Ukraine against Russia and they still will not admkt that tbeir false ATO is a civil war being waged by them against their own population.
Not only is it correct for Russia to allow entry and provide accommodations for humanitarian reasons as well as political, it is also correct to allow them asylum or passage baxk as they see fit. It is thier border to secure, the decision is theirs.
To use an odd comparison, when the US was conducting their “Police Action” in Vietnam, many Americans crossed into Canada or went to Mexico, etc. to avoid being drafted. They were not arrested, derained or deported. The US was po’d but could not do anything legally to them as long as they did not return to the US.
Slippery slope, maybe, but internment for fleeing a war or conflict zone is up to the host country, not keyboard analysts using illegal, or perceived illegal immigration cases to muddy the topic. Even then sovereign nations decide who/what constitutes what legal vs illegal immigration is. Some base it upon international laws while other base it upon political reasoning or ideological fantasies. The world is not so “black and white”, there are infinite shades of grey at play.
One thing is absolute, racism and prejudice is thriving and based upon your references, one can safely presume a few things about you…
World War on Russia’s Mind When U.S. Duels Over Ukraine
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-08-08/world-war-on-russia-s-mind-when-u-s-duels-over-ukraine.html
The effort will backfire, said Glazyev, who spoke before a round of retaliatory steps announced by Russia yesterday banning food and agricultural products for one year from the U.S., the EU, Norway, Canada and Australia. The U.S.-led “economic war” against Russia will ricochet, leaving the EU to pay the steepest costs in the conflict, he said.
The trading bloc stands to lose about 1 trillion euros ($1.3 trillion), an estimate he says includes the possible bankruptcy of several European banks and companies toppled after the cutoff in financial and economic ties. An energy crisis in Europe will bring a sharp spike in prices and a loss of competitiveness for European producers. Meanwhile, Turkish, Chinese and east Asian nations will fill the void left by the departure of their European rivals from the Russian market.
The fallout will cost 250 billion euros for Germany alone while pushing the three Baltic states to the brink of an “economic catastrophe,” he said. Lithuania and Latvia will lose the equivalent of half of their entire economic output, and the cost for Estonia will reach 50 percent more than its gross domestic product, Glazyev said.
“Task no. 1 is to block those threats to economic security that are now coming from the U.S., neutralize them by reducing the dependence of our external economic activity on the mercy of American politicians, whose aggressiveness threatens the entire world,” he said.
Anon. @ 08 August, 2014 16:58: Also, I’m not really understanding the decisions in the past few days to supposedly let more than 2,000 soldiers escape the cauldron and go back into the war. Does anyone have an example in the history of the world when this was done? This is all too strange.

No, I do not remember any Iraqi bloggers looking forward to our invasion. But if there were any, I’d assume they were of the same ilk as the swarm that’s recently invaded this blog. You know, the kind of folks who taunt Putin for being so weak or compare him to Hitler or claim that Russia has lost this round. They must be under a lot of pressure right now, the poor dears — their utter desperation shows every time they use boldface. Swatting them is just so danged easy, I almost pity them too much to bother. Almost.
AK,
Boy am I glad you’re back! :~)
The tide is turning back to Novorussia and this is the beginning of the next dangerous period.
The cauldron has been resolved and Kiev is starting to admit 3,500 ‘MIA’.
Battlefield maneuvers seem to be going in favor of Novorussia – as usual – western press blackout / ‘closing in on rebels’ confirms.
Resolution of the cauldron has resulted in various equipment transfers.
Further partisan activity has taken place in other oblasts.
SBU is starting to admit military jets involved with MH17, claiming they were Russian jets.
DPR has proposed a humanitarian ceasefire, after Russia’s proposal, ball is back in US court.
So – one would anticipate major new provocations in the nearest future.
I can see it coming…The junta armoured group that yesterday-08.08-punched its way towards the all important road junction at Krasni Luch and actually according to Strelkovs own word managed to capture the town early this morning, now finds itself in very dangerous(for the ukies that is) situation. Its overstreched and too deep in DPRs territory. The Militia it seems is counter attacing and trying to cut them off!If the info is correct and the Militia succeeds it’s gonna be a BIG one.

Yonatan,
That Der Spiegel set of proposals looks just like what Putin and Merkel were rumored to have discussed a while back (by whom? I forget but maybe Der Spiegel?). It would not be a bad resolution, all things considered — as long as Ukraine is truly federalized and not run by the usual suspects…

Please stop with the Putin-bashing-via-casting-nasty-aspersions. I am equally sure that if anybody wanted to, an even greater number of ways could be found where Bibi Dearest resembles Hitler far more closely than Putin ever could. Is that what you really want people to be doing? Why?And if not, then how ’bout you stop the equally-wide brush w/which you’re spreading what looks like a lot of, erm, tar. And, again, your use of bold face really isn’t necessary — is it?

Yes, this is real. And no, it’s not the least bit funny.

Update from Canuckistan:
Well, maybe it’s not really an update since the sub-title claims “unconfirmed” reports. It is also worth noting that this CBC article stated it was “UPDATED” but has seemingly just been published in the “Politics” section and not the “World” section where these articles should be located. Also at this point there are 0 (zero) comments, which reinforces the above notion. This article also contains copypasta’d segments previously published in other articles including the image slideshow. Below is the entire article (in 2 parts) for those interested in such things..

Ukraine rebel leader open to a ceasefire
Unconfirmed reports indicate Ukrainian forces gaining in eastern region
The Associated Press Posted: Aug 09, 2014 12:52 PM ET Last Updated: Aug 09, 2014 2:10 PM ET
Ukrainian troops have surrounded the rebel-held city of Donetsk and the insurgents are willing to accept a cease-fire in order to stave off a humanitarian catastrophe, a top rebel leader announced Saturday.
Conditions in Donetsk, the largest rebel stronghold in eastern Ukraine, were clearly deteriorating. As the thunder of artillery reverberated Saturday, the streets of the city, home to nearly 1 million people before 300,000 fled the conflict, were nearly empty of cars and pedestrians. Most stores were closed.
There was no immediate government response to the statement from Aleksandr Zakharchenko, the so-called prime minister of the Donetsk separatists.
Russia, which the Ukrainian government in Kiev and Western countries allege is supporting the rebels, has called repeatedly for a humanitarian mission into eastern Ukraine. But Kyiv and the West suggest that could be just a pretext to send in Russian forces — and say some 20,000 Russian troops are just across the border. The rebel leader’s comments could be aimed at increasing the international pressure to allow in a Russian mission.

At least one person was killed and 18 wounded in shelling Saturday that hit about 30 apartment blocks, city council spokesman Maxim Rovinsky said.
“The situation is getting worse with every hour,” he told The Associated Press, adding that about 2,000 residential buildings had no electricity.
Explosions near airport
Explosions were also heard Saturday on the northern outskirts near Donetsk’s airport.
Ukrainian officials have consistently denied that their forces are shelling civilians, but the rebels dismiss that and claim the government is aiming to blame the insurgents for the increasing death and destruction.
Some say both sides are to blame.
“We’re afraid of the Ukrainian army, which is firing on the city, and of the rebels of the Donetsk People’s Republic, who are robbing and killing civilians,” said Dmitry Andronov, a 47-year-old resident.
Boys play a game of war in the eastern Ukrainian town of Kramatorsk on Aug. 7, 2014. Russia responded Thursday to fresh sanctions from Canada, the U.S. and other countries with a ban on food imports for a year. The ban includes food stuffs like milk, fish, meat and vegetables.

Update from Canuckistan: Part 2
(…cont’d)
Zakharchenko’s statement that the city was surrounded came hours after the rebels’ top commander said Ukrainian forces had seized a key town, Krasnyi Luch, and effectively cut off Donetsk and nearby territory from the rest of the rebel-held east.
“The Donetsk-Horlivka group of the fighters of Novorossiya is completely surrounded,” Igor Girkin said on a rebel social media page. Novosrossiya, or “New Russia,” is a term widely used by the rebels for the eastern area that seeks independence from the government in Kyiv.
Horlivka, where rebels and Ukrainian forces are also fighting, is 30 kilometres north of Donetsk.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian military operation, Andriy Lysenko, told reporters Saturday that he could not confirm that the town was under government control.
Luhansk concern
Concerns are rising about a looming humanitarian catastrophe in the rebel east’s second-largest city of Luhansk, where fighting has been heavier and more prolonged. A map released by the Ukrainian military shows Ukrainian forces near the outskirts of Luhansk on three sides, with an opening to other rebel-held territory only at the south.
Russian news agencies quoted Luhansk authorities as saying Saturday that the city has been without water and electricity for a week and most of its stores are closed.
‘This catastrophe now is the No. 1 theme for discussion.’
– Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov about Luhansk
The International Committee of the Red Cross said it is stepping up work to alleviate the crisis in eastern Ukraine but warned that any Red Cross aid convoy “will be taken in strict adherence to our fundamental working principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence.”
The deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Valeriy Chalyi, claimed Saturday that Russian forces wanted to enter Ukraine under the guise of a humanitarian mission but Ukraine had blocked the move.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the claim, saying “there was no attempt by Russian soldiers at penetration,” according to Russian news agencies.
But he reiterated Russia’s call for humanitarian action, saying “this catastrophe now is the No. 1 theme for discussion.”

All:
The forces attacking Krasny Luch are the remnants of the 24th Mechanized from L’viv. Despite having Tanks, they could not break from the cauldron. Instead they are trying to reach the main road to Debaltsevo and make a fighting retreat. I touched on this back in June when the cauldron developed.
Meanwhile, the 79th Airborne from Mykolaiv/Odessa left the cauldron with their APC’s and on Civilian buses. It should be obvious why the NAF allowed one force out and held the other fast, and why one force sued to surrender, and the other is still fighting. One is from future Novorossiya, the other from Banderstan.
To those referring to cease fire proposals; it is my guess that the rebels have genuine concerns about the welfare of the inhabitants of the areas under attack.
The offer is probably genuine, but is made using the same kind of reasoning followed by the Russian government in recent months.
Here’s why: If the Junta accept a ceasefire on the basis of the welfare of the inhabitants then they are, as the attackers upon the inhabitants, giving an inferred acceptance that they, the Junta, are responsible for the poor condition of the inhabitants. That’s not something they will be able to accept or admit.
Thus, the rebels, by making the proposal become the ‘good guys’ and the Junta, in denying the ability of the citizenry to leave for safety will be the inhumane monsters. Thus is a PR lose/lose for the Junta. And may have a more practical effect in the future when scores are reckoned up.
The rebels, just as Putin has been doing, are sending a coded message to the Junta and thus Washington. The lack of a reply, or ceasefire, will be at least as instructive to the rebels and their planners as a reply and acceptance of a ceasefire.
My expectation is that there will be no ceasefire, the rebels their planners and the citizenry will understand the intent of the Junta and prepare themselves for some kind of victory following an ongoing war or defeat and genocide.

Mr. Pragma said :
“As I many times said, the uza isn’t a superpower of any kind since quite some years – its only real weapons are propaganda, image, aggression, and the tricks of a cheap magician”.
I have often said that we are witnessing a spiritual war, perhaps the final one, unfolding. I very much believe a spiritual war is being waged with material matter. The devil has many names and among them is the great deceiver and the father of lies. Every single description given in religious texts of the devil matches what America is and how they behave. They are enemies of humanity. By their actions shall you know them. Troubling times lie ahead for the world but ultimately evil will not prevail and there shall be no shelter for evil.
If there is a Transatlantic Partenership for Europe (TiSA, TAFTA) to be signed at the end of 2014 as said…
I mean, if the MAiN goal of the Ukraine overthrow (Yes!, main and NOT byproduct) is to force EU in this Transatlantic treaty…
Then, this is a Win/win/win/Win for Washington:
Disconnect EU from Russia. (political & economy)
Weaken EU so much… they’ll be willing to sign it without arguing.
Weaken and isolate (even if it’s temporary) Russia.
Take Ukraine.
Could they escape the de-dollarization & financial crisis with that?
People from Europe will be the REAL LOOSERS here!!
Unemployment, of course. Poorer. Less power.
Their future being chosen by US & Brussels.
And it’ll be a NWO kind, a neo-feudal society.
” The ultimate goal of these treaties is to reconfigure the legal apparatus and superstructures that govern national, regional and global trade and business – for the primary, if not exclusive, benefit of the owners of the world’s largest multinational corporations. “

know the truth, in my opinion you are correct. The Western alliance driven by the USA and Israel represents total spiritual evil. A cult of absolute racist, cultural and civilizational supremacism, that denigrates the lives, the beliefs, the experiences of all other societies and demands, at the risk of subversion, attack, sanction and endless racist and cultural vilification in the Western MSM sewer, total, slavish, obedience. All to the end of subjugating humanity to the rule of a tiny, arrogant, elite, utterly materialistic, insatiably greedy and totally blood-thirsty. Gaza, Novorossya, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq are what these fiends plan for the world’s untermenschen, then genocide. Putin has been thrust, by fate, into a central role in humanity’s future, which explains the evil monsters’ visceral hate for him. Indeed, so carried away by hatred, borne of fear that their Evil Empire of Eternal Exceptionalism is crumbling due to its inner corruption, that I really fear that nuclear war is being actively planned, not just contemplated.
@know the truth
You are quite right. I have laid out that perspective, too, and in some detail some days ago.
I disagree, however, in an important detail. The uza is not the devil. israel is. They even write down the name of their “god”, el shaddai (satan). The usa is the dog, the army, the beast, serving the israel satan.
re: Donetzk
The militia has stated – and credibly so – that their concern is the hundreds of thousands of civilians in the city.
And the militia is, in fact, *known* to go to great lengths to avoid civilian deaths, no matter on which side.
I think there is a (rather theoretical) possibility that the criminal ukratine regime spares the city of Donetzk.
And there is a high probability that the kiev regime, albeit under one disguise or another (like “We didn’t order it. Some troops without communication did”), will attack Donetzk. In that case, Russia will act. Probably they will not officially enter the war but they will provide the militia with the necessary means.
One should also keep in mind that such an attack (on Donetzk) would quite strongly shift the world perception; evidently any party attacking a large city with civilians must be the evil one. Possibly so much so that Russia could openly turn against the ukratine army.
Although, again, I think they would just give full support to the militia, maybe shooting down some ukratin jets themselves and every human being would side with the militia.
re: ukratine pipeline threat & germany
Keep in mind that germany has its own feed (north-stream). This changes the interpretation of usas threat through ratsenyuk.
It means that all eu except germany are threatened to be without gas this winter. This matches with the fact that germany is not a country but, in fact, an occupied zone (by uza) and *has to* obey uza orders since 1945.
germany also being the “engine” and economic power of eu this move allows the uza, so they think, to forcefully control the rest of eu (other than traitor and whore scum like poland which they remote control anyway).
The bad news (for uza) is: Russia controls the gas and the usa will still for some years not be able to take over the supplying eu. And, to make thing funnier, India, Iran (and possibly some others) are expected to join Russia/China SCO.
In other words:
a) Those who thought, they would “allow” Iran to supply eu are grossly wrong. Iran won’t.
b) There will be a rather closed anti-uza block from Syria to China in a few months.
Russia has the strength (incl. spiritual) and Putin is a black belt judoka while obama is just an impertinent nobody with little more than blabla lies asa track record.
So the only real worry we should have is that possibly all those european politician traitors and snakes will slide away in time rather than getting the rod through their heads they deserve.
There are Many People who think that Every Country should Only grow Safe Non GMO food, and Preferably that Every Country be Totally Self Sufficient for food and beverages.
The American Shadow Government have been working on Biological Weapons, which could combine the use of genetically engineered food with a virus, which they will invent in the future, that will possibly work with a special GMO flu virus, and where the combination will be a Lethal Biological Weapon to Destroy Nations Control the World under American Martial Law.
The Scientist that Invented Edible Vaccines is the same Person in the Video Titled: and Scientist Working on American Government Ebola Drug Joked About Culling Population with GMO Virus at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsD7l9xENRQ .
There is one Great Threat to Humanity, and that is genetically engineered food and beverages, and this is why Many People want every Country to grow their own food, because even a little GMO food and beverages can be Secretly Produced, and exported along with the Non GMO food and beverages.
If they have made Edible Vaccines, then they have made Edible Diseases before they made the Edible Vaccines, but they are keeping that matter a Secret, and we Only are told of the Non Military benefits in the Sanitized Articles such as at http://sciencenordic.com/edible-vaccines-can-be-grown-everywhere .
We know that America is Officially Confessing to Printing up to 85 Billion Dollars a month for every month since 2007, and this amount reached over 2 Trillion Dollars in 2010 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing .
That amount of 85 Billion Dollars a month at a 150,000 Dollars a house, would buy 500,000 houses a month to house homeless American Citizens, and where the Government could receive some modest rent to maintain those houses, but the homeless have been totally ignored by a Callous Government.
As far as Farming is concerned, then that amount of 85 Billion Dollars a month at a 150, 000 Dollars a farm, would buy 500,000 profit making and taxpaying farms a month to have Non GMO crops.
Instead of being Homeless and Unemployed and on Food Stamp, they could grow Safe Non GMO food for themselves and for their fellow Citizens.
It is true that there would not be much profit or taxes from the small Non GMO food farms, but there would be a huge fall in Unemployment, and huge fall in Government Expenditures and a much better Society, which would not require an Engineered Police State or Martial Law.
They can pipe seawater inland and into black colored glass tanks and use the heat of the sun and even curved mirrors reflecting on those tanks to evaporate the seawater, and the pure water can be used with hydroponics, and shade cloth can be used where necessary, and any excess salt can be returned to the ocean.
The Places where it is cold, then they can use multiple glazed greenhouses which use glass or plastic, if there are hailstones from America’s weather altering machines that are used to control the World, rather than produce rain for agriculture and for the environment, and these facilities can produce Safe Non GMO food for all of the year, using gas or coal for heating in winter.
