This is great stuff! RT reports:
Ukraine ready to impose sanctions against any transit via its territory, including air flights and gas supplies to Europe, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Friday. Ukraine’s Parliament will vote on the sanctions on Tuesday. Kiev has also prepared a list of 172 Russian citizens and 65 legal enitites to put under sanctions for “sponsoring terrorism, supporting the annexation of Crimea, and violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk said at a briefing on Friday. Proposed sanctions include asset freezes, bans on certain enterprises, bans on privatizing state property, refusing to issue licenses, and a complete or partial ban on transit- both aviation and gas.
Let me see if I got this right: the US/EU impose sanctions on Russia because Russia does not stop the Novorussian Resistance. In retaliation, Russia imposes sanctions on the EU and a ban on Ukie overflights over Russia. And in response to that, the Ukies prevent gas which the EU badly needs and which it paid for from reaching the EU. Who will get hurt by that? The EU, of course. So, in fact, these idiots in Kiev, no doubt under US orders again, are now strengthening the Russian sanctions against the EU! We can think of it as “Russia cutting off gas supplies to the EU in a way for which it cannot be blamed”.
Beautiful, no?
The wave pain for the EU is now slowly turning into a tsunami of mutually reinforcing problems.
Well, the sure deserve it. As I said yesterday: you wanna be Uncle Sam’s bitch? Pay the price!

This is indeed good news as it will force the EU goverments, particularly Germany, to make up their minds.
The future of Europe rests in good relations and an aliance with Russia, for Russia is geographically, ethnically and culturally part of Europe.
The Empire is in deep trouble and these desperate actions will only hasten it’s fall.
Now its the time for Europeans to demand action from their governments.
To exit NATO and leave the dollar to its fate.
The US will have to fend for itself from the consequences of 100 years of warmongering and exploitation.
I will not shed a tear. They have sown winds, they shall reap the storm.
Let’s hope that in the end the American People at least finds its redemption in the suffering it will have to endure.
I have been waiting (and hoping) for the German Media (and by inference their elites) to start showing some …….. any sense of realism.
Hopefully this article is the the light at the end of the tunnel.

Unbelievable. Current IMF rules prohibit the lending of money to countries in the state such as Ukraine now is in due to its ongoing civil war in the South east, these slimeballs know there is no money coming from the IMF so they are now resorting to a new tactic of “imposing sanctions” against Russia including cutting off the ghas supplies to the EU, which is why according to “yats” they need closer ties with and support and funding of the EU. You just couldn’t make it up. Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first drive insane holds very true here.

“There were unconfirmed reports last spring that the U.S. threatened a massive Tomahawk strike from the ship, implicitly nuclear, if Russia invaded the Ukraine, after which Russia withdrew its 50,00 or so troops well away from the border.”
You are implying an unconfirmed threat from the USA scared Russia and caused them to move troops away from the Ukraine border. This is total rubbish, but the sort one would expect from a zionist spammer.
“If the Vella Gulf is there again on a similar mission, threatening Russia explicitly or implicitly with a massive Tomahawk strike, this might be a good time for an unscheduled exercise of the entire Black Sea Fleet, all nearby air-defense forces (S-300, S-400, Buks, etc.), every air asset that could be employed against the Vella Gulf (T-22’s, SU-34’s, etc.), with the RVSN on high alert. The exercise should take place at the other side of the Black Sea (if the Vella Gulf were in the west, then in the east, or vice versa), so as not to be mistaken for the real thing. The exercise should have an announced scenario of “destruction of an enemy formation launching a cruise-missile attack from the Black Sea”, and be as realistic as possible without revealing operational secrets (e.g., advanced ECM). The purpose would be to show the U.S what awaits the Vella Gulf if it did attack, put the shoe on the other foot, with the RSVN behind ready for action if the Tomahawks were nuclear.”
Yes, and telegraph all their radar, ecm, alert status operations, etc. to American military intelligence gathering ops, and as a bonus, further destabilise and escalate the tensions region and further give the zio-quislings of ZPC/NWO dominated states excuses to isolate Russia. Exactly what the ZPC/NWO wants.
The sayanim and other fascist spammers here keep proposing these self-destructive actions for the Russians to do. This is as obvious as the spammers condemning Putin (it’s almost always Putin instead of Russia with these site spammers) for not doing the things their sacred ZPC/NWO wants Russia to do. One would think the obviousness of their spamming these zio-fascist “want lists” of things the Russians need to do to help the zio-fascists would register in their zio-minds, but I guess that infamous “exceptionalism” precludes any recognition the “untermenschen” might catch on to the “cunning plan”. This comments on this site are becoming a clone to those sites like Moon of Alabama with all these “clever” sayanim playing their psyops games.

This is what comes from the “Empire of Chaos” as Pepe calls it, ruling Ukraine through what Dmitry Orlov called “governance by word salad.”
Perhaps something was lost in the translation from US speak to Ukraine speak.
Horrible, but also hilarious.
Since the EU is an Elite fiefdom of masters parading as a great progressive democratic unity, the weight of reality will fracture the Union in the next five years.
Germany has a momentary opportunity to break out of its shackles. Russia can free it as it once freed Berlin from the Third Reich.
Merkel could have become a Willy Brandt and chose to be a hausfrau. A whore hausfrau.
In any case, Italy and Greece have much to gain by joining Eurasia. Italy has ancient trade relations with China, Chinese own several large, famous Italian brands, and Greece already had Piraeus port rebuilding by China. They have no future in EU, versus a great future in Eurasia.
The Mediterranean is presently a NATO lake. But soon, it will be a Eurasian atoll.
You can kill some of the people some of the time, but you can’t kill all of the people. And all the West and EU scam has done is inflame Islamic terror, enable narco trafficking, and spread chaos, death and destruction.
NATO is an international war criminal organization. The EU is a fascist conspiracy. And American government enables and arms them all to suppress Liberty and development around the globe.
It is that simple. No ideology needed to see the truth and know the facts.
On the gas question, consider these words. Milford Haven, Tembek, Qatar Petroleum, Petronas, Japanese restart nuclear reactors. The Gas Weapon is already greatly atrophied. It is a medium, perhaps longer term, disaster for Gazprom. Ukraine alone bought as much gas as China will one day. Early this year, even the UK started taking Russian gas on a Chinese contract scale (but at a very low price and a very flexible contract because Milford Haven is there waiting). The game was already ending for Gazprom, hence the acceptance of the Chinese contract terms.

“… The only problem is that Ukraine will stop the transit of gas to Europe, and America and Europe will then use their propaganda machine to pounce to blame Russia for interruption of the supply. In my opinion, this is a more dangerous scenario than what I had expected for the coming winter – that Russia would slow down a bit the delivery of gas, in order to blackmail the EU by adjusting the contracted price and thereby strike back. I am starting to believe that the Americans will finally be able to instigate World War III. The future does not look good for anyone on this planet, apparently. …”
Who stands to benefit the most from making the gas supply from Ukraine to the EU troublesome?
Southstream.
Who stands to benefit the most from placing barriers in the food distribution from US/EU to Russia which opens markets between US and EU? and at the same time makes the airable land in Ukraine much more of a player.

You said:
“…the fools in the in EU and US were EXPECTING, Russia to cut off energy supplies, not agricultural products .You’ll notice how deranged their statements sounded yesterday (especially the sour grapes coming from Britain -priceless) Consequently the Russian embargo was more brilliant than even you supposed yesterday, because the Russians hurt Europe without hurting themselves by shutting down sales of gas. This measure (certainly ordered by the US as you say) is meant to be a “corrective” to that…”
As someone else reminded us later, Rasmussen visited yesterday, so this does seem to be one of the new directives.

I’m having a struggle with those full stops and tiny one-word sentences. Pity, really, because I suspect somewhere underneath the cleverness there are sensible points one could agree with.
Sorry, this is OT, but important for understanding the North of Europe.
I can’t find it now, but somewhere on this blog somebody wrote about the ancient Rus and the connections between Scandinavia, Ukraine and Russia at the time of the Vikings. I advice caution here.
Czar Ivan some 500 years ago said to Swedish King Gustaf Wasa that Sweden had been governed from Novgorod and so was ancient Russian land that had slipped away. We know for certain that the Finnish coast in the Northern Baltic, part of Sweden-Finland at the time, paid tribute to Novgorod, so Ivan may have been right. My theory is Novogorod ruled Scandinavia and parts of presentday Britain. Not only because it had political/religious power, but also because it was a dominant trade partner.
At the time of the Vikings, Sweden was little Svithjod and Russia was _big_ Svithjod, a very very large country. This we know. Svithjod, “svedda jorden” in Swedish, can be translated as “burned earth”, with the connotation of a new settlement, as in Svealand to the north of Gotaland. The farmers burned down a part of the forest to be able to farm. Our Finnish friends will remember the history of Rääkkyllä in Finnish Karelia, that was also a pioneer settlement. A wonderful place, btw. I have been there.
In Sigtuna, the city of the Swedish-Finnish King, half the inhabitants were orthodox as late as in the 13th century. This is a fact. They had their own grand cathedral and the ruin is still standing. There are indications, but no proofs, the southern part of the country was under orthodox influence for centuries. After the divorce between the Christian Churches, Sweden-Finland was caught in a religious war with Novgorod.
The first really serious problems between Sweden-Finland and Novgorod started. King Magnus Eriksson was, against his will, forced to start a religious war against Novgorod. The war ended badly and Magnus converted to the Orthodox Church in the Valamo monastery on his deathbed. The horrible wars continued until 1809.
We also have evidence of a Finnish influence in Kievskaja Rus and Novgorod. Call them Finnish Vikings, if you want, though some of them did not live in presentday Finland. Some of them served as soldiers in Konstantinopel. Different people in the North, Swedes, Finns and Russians, are closely related and we should have a good understanding of each other. We should. We have fought the cold for millennia – and survived against all odds.
Russians are called “venalainen” in Finnish. It means “boat people”. So who were the Vikings?
Take a look at Norway [Norwegen in German}. Why is a country called the Northern way in two languages? For a Swede, Dane or Norwegian, Norway is the Northern Kingdom, not the Northern way. The answer is simple. When it was too dangerous to trade on the Baltic, Novgorod sant its goods from the White Sea along the coast of Norway to the Brisish Isles and the continent. The name of a European country still bear witness to this ancient trade.
The Junta is suffocating —
This is their last desperate gasp — using the logic of a dying man.
Dammit Europe — we’ll take you down too!
The writing is on the wall. Multiple mobilizations are a complete failure. Russia is massing troops on the border to shield itself from the fallout.
No one in the West or anywhere else is willing to pony up one more dime for these murderous Ukrainian gangsters. The losses for their Western partners are already unimaginably huge. In the long run the cost will run into the trillions.
The junta is disintegrating. Mercs are trapped or can’t be paid while best friends (like Canada) are sending supplies but NO- MO- money.
Ha ha.
I wonder if Odimayer & friends regret their association with Poroshenko, Kolomoisky or the other genocidal war criminals they’ve been hangin’ with. He should be hounded same as war criminal Tony Blair.
Now, hundreds of thousands of lost or destroyed lives later, the West has lost every large and small battle on every front of a modern, global full spectrum war.
Now is the time of the greatest threat of some new shocking form of terrorism. Kolomoisky and people like him have the means and they are guaranteed to be threatening a Samsom Option when things are going so badly. These psychopaths really do need to be hunted down like rabid animals and soon.
For the vast majority in Ukraine, east and west, brother will not kill brother, not at the behest of a blood sucking chocolate king vampire or anyone else.
Money is gone.
Times up for the junta.

Hmm, that part about about a ban on privatizing state property is strange since the IMF (and probably the EU association agreement) require Ukraine to sell off state owned assets for the benefit of international investors. Banning the privatization of state property doesn’t effect Russia, at all, so what’s that about???

Regarding the “eu will pay Polish farmers” thing: first, even if true, this is likely to be only partial compensation. Second, it will almost certainly be short-term (unless EU is willing to implement a permanent subsidy). Poland will lose market share to Russian producers and South American importers. Even after sanctions end, this market share isn’t going to return, at least nowhere near entirely.
But most importantly: how do you think Finnish dairy producers are going to feel about Polish farmers being compensated (hint: Finland has already laid claim to the entire EU compensation fund). What about Norwegian fishermen – well, Norway isn’t even part of the EU, so too bad for them I guess. Unless they use and win. What about Fench, Italian, Spanish farmers? If EU is going down the compensation route, they had better get ready to screw their taxpayers out of tens of billions. And even that isn’t going to solve the lost market share problem post-sanctions.
In short, this is an unmitigated disaster for EU “leaders”. EU economy was already shaky, this could easily send it into a major recession. I will not be surprised if we start seeing radical political changes, and possibly even civil unrest within a year.

Re the Handelsblatt Op Ed he does get something wrong.
“The last successful major military action the US conducted was the Normandy landing. Everything else – Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan – was a clear failure.”
With 3 of the 5 beaches landed by UK and Canadian soldiers. Using a plan created by a British General…oh and all forces being led by a British general too (Ike didn’t take over until Sept after Normandy was won, then proceeded to completely stuff up).
Oh and almost entirely landed and supported by British ships…..all following a naval plan by a British admiral, with all the ships under his command.
So the Americans didn’t even win that on their own or even under their own leadership.
The fracturing may have already begun. German newspaper Handelsblatt published a VERY critical editorial in German, English and RUSSIAN about the need to not blindly follow Washington’s orders:

Well, now we know why Yatsenyuk wanted to quit. He is the posterboy for absurdity in national leadership. He scored a perfecta today – picked two absolute losers. Ban Russian gas and seek to buy gas from EU countries. The man is smoking some serious crack.
The Ukraine can’t win in the southeast with overwhelming forces, even though they are causing great damage. They lost their economic viability since the eastern regions are the backbone of the economy. And, now this.
Saker, you’re so right, as are the other commenters who point out that Ukraine did what Russia might have done but wanted to avoid – cut off gas to EU countries.
All of those impacted in the EU are not equal in their willingness to voice protest. I suspect that the farmers will become a frightening force in the EU as a result of the agricultural sanctions. This move by Ukraine shows who is rational and who isn’t. Those angry farmers will blame their governments (aka U.S. puppets).
You can’t make up stuff like this.
This could be a fucked up weekend. It’s apparent that Kiev and DC are planning something – hence the premature end of the ‘international investigation’. Russia is testing the ‘humanitarian’ waters. Information from the front is contradictory, although the cauldron seems to have been resolved in the main, something new is starting. Tomorrow morning is Maidan 2.1. Let’s hope the Russian Federation does what has to be done. Fuck the USA.
@ Nora, per your comment in the previous thread:
“American Kulak,
Holy. Poop. Schindler would be repulsive even without the selfies. But then, every one of them are; I guess it’s in the job description. Still, wow. And again, I’m really glad you’re back commenting; I missed you.”
Appreciate the sentiments. I had to step away from commenting for some time. You are certainly correct about Schindler — when I started observing him and his Twitter groupies a year ago he was easy to hate — his behavior was so clownish and bullying as an NSA fanatic it often descended into self-parody, as documented here:
http://schindlertweets.tumblr.com/
Now I don’t pity him but I realize his psychology is warped, and the Empire looks out for such individuals to aggressively promote its propaganda. Even though clearly being the ‘Twitter bully’ on behalf of NSA took its toll on Schindler’s state of mind, judging by his Anthony Weiner-style meltdown. In fact Schindler’s ultimate hate figure (aside from Putin) Edward Snowden by all accounts despite the incredible pressure of being an Emmanuel Goldstein figure seems far saner and better adjusted in comparison. And I say this as one who still isn’t certain whether Snowden was (per Sibel Edmonds/Dr. Steve Pieczenik) a deep state CIA limited hangout operation to knock an IC competitor (NSA) down a big notch.
The best way I can put it is not only does Schindler view the NSA as a proxy for his real father who was career NSA and served in Vietnam, he also doesn’t view the USA as a country per se so much as a vehicle for the Empire (aka Oceania or as Schindler prefers to call it, the 5Eyes + NATO) to confront Russia. That’s it. That’s all the USA stands for in Schindler (and Cliff Kincaid of ‘Accuracy in Media’s) worldview.
Occasionally Schindler will make some insincere right wing gestures like claiming that US troops should be sent to patrol the US-Mexican border even while calling himself a ‘social democrat’ to his groupies and ‘more right wing than I let on in public’ to his would be cyber paramour. But Schindler hates all of the non-controlled right with a passion and once suggested to a Obamabot hardcore Democrat fanatic groupie of his that the 3% movement of gun owners ‘should be watched’ (presumably by his ‘ex’ NSA colleagues?).
Ultimately the Empire probably identifies these psychologically weak minds from an early age and begins to cultivate their egos — even telling them they’re ‘bold truth tellers’ ala McCain when in fact their every utterance serves the goal of globalist hegemony.
I checked Schindlers tweets…. Wow. Just, wow. “I’m a phd, you’re an idiot, I know the subject, you don’t. And you’re an idiot. And I have a phd.” That about sums it up. I’m sure he actually says other words here and there, but just the sheer amount of arguing to (his own) authority and childish name calling is pretty amazing. For a phd. Does this guy have a big following or something?
Interesting hypothesis about cultivating egos- I do tend to think that people who blindly follow the status quo
and don’t rock the boat, who eagerly serve the empire out of self-interest if nothing else, really are targeted- and probably in the future will be increasingly so- to fill positions of influence. It may be the single quality without which one may not even be allowed to work in such positions. I actually think it’s a topic that deserves a serious amount of attention and scrutiny.
Nora, following orders from the Tel Aviv/ Mordor on the Potomac Axis of Omnicide is not negotiable. If the Holy Ones tell you to cut your own babies’ throats to spare them the trouble, you must tremble and obey. The Israelis own politics in the West, and the MSM, so dissent is inadmissible. Already evil shit-rags like ‘The Guardian’ have forgotten the orgy of child butchery in Gaza, and are concentrating on ‘antisemitism’, which, of course, is objecting to ritual child murder by the Holy Ones or daring to argue with a Zionazi. You cannot ‘negotiate’ with evil fiends like those who rule in the West. In Australia the entire political caste, with one or two exceptions, ignored Israel’s butchery or supported it, and the frenzy of abuse directed at Russia has just been re-ignited because Russia had the audacity to put sanctions on ‘US’, the holy effing West!! We, of course, can sanction, blockade, subvert, attack and destroy anyone we Goddam like, but the Nobodies must never, ever, dare to answer in kind.

Nora,
Seems also that the Ukies and their PR proxies in the States are following the tried and true White House/corporate PR strategy of: if you MUST admit embarrassing news or earnings, always do so late on a Friday afternoon when most of the sheeple and even official Washington could care less.
http://rt.com/news/179048-ten-thousand-killed-ukraine/
RT is out front with this story about a group in the Ukrainian Parliament urging President Porkyshenko to admit that UKR Army KIA have been an order of magnitude higher than the ‘official’ body count of less than 400 combat deaths. The pro-Kiev or I should say anti-Russian Twitterati led by Hans de Vreij admitting the huge losses — while calling for the EU to blockade Kaliningrad in retaliation for Russia’s countersanctions — are suddenly in the open after weeks of cheery propaganda about Ukie Army advances. The BBC is still publishing maps showing Lugansk almost totally encircled while being less optimistic about Kiev’s claims to have nearly surrounded Donetsk.
https://twitter.com/20committee/status/497885444592631808
The reason I brought up Schindler is, despite his ‘damaged goods’ public profile, he’s still useful to ‘somebody’ in the NATO psyops community, at least for issuing marching orders to other 5Eyes and junior partner country propagandists. Hence Schindler continues to double down on the SBU narrative that it has ‘proof’ Russia deliberately shot down MH17. As I predicted in the previous thread, Kiev is probably trying to get ready for Russia or the Malays releasing evidence extremely adverse to its cause by saying ‘Russian infiltrators/traitors inside the Ukrainian military did it’.
Larchmonter- ‘Elite’ goals in the West these days increasingly means Jewish goals. The financialisation of Western economies accompanied by the destruction of manufacturing and production, the destruction of the middle class, the destruction of social welfare states, the commodification of all things and the marketisation of society all immensely benefit the tiny capital-owning elite at the expense of all others, and that elite is vastly disproportionately Jewish. That is a simple, unarguable, fact. More contentious, perhaps, is my belief that dominance by a tiny, supremacist, xenophobic tribe is precisely why the fate of the 99% of ‘others’ is so demonstrably no longer of any interest whatsoever to Western elites.

“Seems like yesterday we were on the threshold of the beginning of the great war. Thank God that was in Kiev NATO Secretary General did not announce the entry of a limited contingent of troops to Ukraine. It is obvious that the response of Russia would not wait. I think this explains the reservation evening Prime-time on DH is under appeal to the people of Vladimir Putin and its subsequent abolition. Saddened by the delay of the North Atlantic Alliance, war criminal Poroshenko still has awarded the head of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen highest award of Ukraine-for-foreigners – with the order of Freedom. Thus, the USA’s war with Russia in Ukraine remains in this strange form of battle larger calibres, where the main actors are still prefer to stay in the shadows. But it’s just a matter of time.
See for yourself what military transport aircraft of NATO with the canadian military base Trenton today, one after the other land in the Kharkiv airport (pictures from other places we don’t have).
On the first day of our stay in Lugansk, heads of the Ministry of defence LNR with amazement told me how they “Grad” burned most of the armored column. The armed group broke through to the encircled the airport in Lugansk to save there was General of the Pentagon, a specialist in communication and electronic warfare, and fifty guarding his American mercenaries. According to the testimony of intelligence, “about fucking,” the Punisher burned, but under the influence of drugs continued to go forward… unfortunately, despite intense shelling, the airport was then released, and the remaining Americans saved.
Today the Ukrainians have become hostages of Americans. Thousands of them are driven to slaughter, forcing them to kill the innocent Russian inhabitants of Novorossia. The leadership of this slaughter directly exercised by American officers, as indicated by the latest become public the facts of their captivity by the Ukrainian military and transmission of the militia. Actively involved also the Polish military pilots and special forces. Here’s my idea for Novorussia: let the people decide. Establish massive charities, promote a people’s movement for humanitarian aid, bring on international support from anti-American countries and institutions. Since Novorussia controls plenty of border right now, let the trucks roll. Do it now. Weapons and political support are a separate issue.
The empire wants to destroy BOTH Russia and EU, that is why Russia does not have to fall in its trap.
So why hasn’t Russia taken the known Ukrainian coup plotters to the International Criminal Court at the Hague???
Prime target would be our friendly Jewish Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who fronts up the Nazi regime.
The so-called “acting Prime Minister”, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, has never been elected by the people of Ukraine.
He was simply appointed by the coup-government (like many other members that comprise the coup-government).
How many of these people who were the visible end of the coup are now in government and were not elected by the people of Ukraine.
Vitali Klitschko
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
Oleh Tyahnybok
Yuriy Lutsenko
Oleksandr Turchynov
Yulia Tymoshenko
Andriy Parubiy
Andriy Sadovyi
Arsen Avakov
Ruslana Lyzhychko

I sent this to a few friends last night after Obama’s speech—am I the only one so naiive?
“I read the speech as given in this article and now the rational side has an opinion.
This seems to be the words of the military—another ‘Syria moment’, if I may say so. This is not Obama in any event; the speech has too much other significance and was not a political speech solely for the sheeple.
But it is a carte blanche for Putin to protect Russian people in the east of the Ukraine—this will be made obvious soon, in my opinion. A most welcome speech if for nothing more than this.
It also might be the signal that the neocons have been ‘opted out’ of US foreign policy by the military. This will be obvious over the next several months if a few notables decide to retire ‘to spend more time with their families’, whether or not they have families.
This brings us to the problem of Gaza and Israel—I have no sense of what this may mean to the Israelis, but, hopefully, they will diminish their political contributions to US politicians—-I think that this might be the case, also.
It leaves two immediate problems unresolved: the economy and the ebola epidemic. However, it does provide some leverage for the US to shift to a more collaborative stance—to sort of ‘stand down’ from its extremely rigid ‘political positions’ and move towards cooperation with the rest of the planet’s nations in solutions to common problems.
I haven’t seen a better moment since the demise of the Soviet Union for a change of direction and folding of the hegemonic game.
I hope that I am not alone in these feelings and thoughts-“
@ 08 August, 2014 16:58: Also, I’m not really understanding the decisions in the past few days to supposedly let more than 2,000 soldiers escape the cauldron and go back into the war. Does anyone have an example in the history of the world when this was done? This is all too strange.
Yes; Hitler let the entire British Army and much of the French army escape at Dunkirk (he ordered the German tanks stopped when they were about ten miles from Dunkirk). About 350,000 soldiers escaped and nearly all of them returned to fight the Germans.

This video translated and subtitled by Marcel Sardo (one of the volunteers recruited by our friend Gleb Bazov) is very revealing about the true state of the Ukie Army’s morale as well as the NAF’s access to
1) HUMINT tips from the population phoned in or trained recon spotters
2) Drones or microdrones from the Russian side of the border for spotting on the Ukrainian side by NAF arty/GRADs
3) At the higher command levels of NAF now that Strelkov is in Donetsk, he is likely receiving intel about large scale Ukie movements via Russian satellites. Although in many cases this would only confirm what the NAF gets through its extensive HUMINT network stretching well into the enemy rear at places like Zaporozhe or Nykolaev.
4) The Ukrainian grunts think that someone on their side was tipping off the Russians and hence the NAF about their positions. This may very well be true but the most likely explanation is the simplest, that the local population is silent but hostile and passing on their locations to the NAF.
Tweets from usually reliable @BradCabana (retired Canadian military officer who’s anti-Empire) suggest entire ‘Southern Cauldron’ has now been ‘cleaned out’, complete with hard tasks of burying left behind Ukie dead and salvaging operations with their equipment that can be repaired. Undamaged hardware surrendered to NAF like GRADs already rolling to attack Ukie flanks, probably in the early morning zero dark hour as is becoming NAF mo.
The Interpreter Mag (nominally funded by Pavel Khodorkovsky Mikhail K’s kid, but likely funded by Qatari/CIA slush funds and headed up by Michael D. Weiss) is admitting to a ‘withdrawal’ from the ‘Southern Cauldron’. They’re trying to put Kiev’s best spin on it that it was a fighting retreat breakout from a position rendered indefensible by fire from across the Russian border. Which naturally begs the logical question of why didn’t the Ukies shoot back? Interepreter Mag usually dances around Ukie army weakness and low morale unless they can state Russian invasion imminent in connection with a Ukrainian setback. Even Michael D. Weiss is now admitting in the virtual pages of the CFR-controlled Foreign Policy that Russian overt invasion is unlikely and probably unnecessary. The Narrative that Putin was about to directly intervene to save the doomed DNR/LNR rebels is now turning on a dime to ‘Putin doesn’t have to invade, so we must step up the sanctions even more to get him to cut off the DNR/LNR’. But it seems among the non-insane foreign policy set that grim recognition is setting in that Putin IS NOT backing off and will NOT abandon the LNR/DNR to their fate, even if the long awaited encirclement of Donetsk can be completed.
It will be interesting to see how the NAF deploy their forces freed up from the Cauldron siege. My guess is they’ll smash with GRADS a lot of the Ukie units either holding or guarding the approaches to Gorlovka this weekend. The goal will be to reopen more land routes for supplies from the wide open Russian border hole of 100 km with Donetsk to give that city’s defenders more arty/ammo to bleed the attackers with.
The NATO/Kiev propaganda Narrative shifts but it tries to shift more subtly than the sheeple can catch on to…but all of us can see that NATO is stepping up the overt aid with these C-17 shipments from Canada and Australia. Could overt NATO boots on the ground prior to the admitted California National Guard deployment be next? Could the troops bound for the September exercises be stationed indefinitely in Western Ukraine, if nothing else as a deterrent against a mass uprising in TransCarpathia facilitated in part by a few ‘fell off the truck’ weapons from President Orban’s HUNGARIAN army? And which military gets sent first, the Poles or the Canadians? Somehow I think it won’t be the US Army at least not in the open yet.
I don’t believe that 2,000 soldiers escaped the cauldren.
The truth about massive Ukrainian Army casualties is probably the next big chapter in the political war.
@ All,
“Yes, as an armchair general and laptop commando, it’s so very darn easy to tell Russian PM Putin what to do next… in the mean time, why not pack up your bags and go help the fighters in Donetsk?”
08 August, 2014 21:50
I agree with this. If the alleged Israeli trolls are right and Putin has truly sold out the NAF, why the Southern Cauldron collapse, as the Ukies allege under Russian GRAD/arty fire? Why the Ukie complaints that the NAF have superb intel on their locations and keep shelling their camps at zero dark before they even have a chance to see the enemy much less shoot at them?
Oh sure you trolls insisting Putin must INVADE NOW or he’s a loser can keep saying the Ukies are going to encircle Lugansk or Donetsk any day now. You can say Strelkov’s men have been pushed back into the city, although the Western journalists who observed the Balkan and even Chechen wars are saying it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the Ukies to take Donetsk if they can take it all. You all can keep pushing the Kiev koolaid ‘victory is just around the corner’ propaganda as you like. But my bullshit meter is trending high at not only the ‘look, over there! it’s a RUSSIAN FALSE FLAG for MH17’ stories being peddled by the usual disinfo peddlers, but also the very fact that Obummer is already turning his attentions to Iraq. If nothing else, Obama’s puppetmasters want to divert both the Western MSM and the sheeple’s attention away from Ukraine or even Gaza now and toward the next distractions du jour, Ebola and the bombing of Iraq. If the Ukies were winning or could win without leveling all of Donetsk and Lugansk, does anyone seriously think the MSM would have put Ukraine on the back burner of coverage?
Putin’s retaliation against EU ag products has clearly thrown down the gauntlet and given the Brussels Imperial minions their choice: proceed to sector sanctions and piss off not only the 3,000 German companies doing business in Russia, but also the big transnational Bildeberg sponsors like Dutch Shell, BP and Exxon invested in the RF INCLUDING OFFSHORE OIL AND GAS IN CRIMEA. Putin has clearly called the Empire’s bluff and now they are pondering their next move, which appears to be NATO BOOTS/ADVISORS ON THE GROUND WITH DIRECT OVERT CARGO FLIGHTS. We will probably see Putin’s countermove to that in the form of humanitarian convoys over the next week or two. I can only hope at least some of those humanitarian aid trucks are flying the flag of the International Red Cross and the People’s Republic of China, just to send Washington and NATO the message that Russia is not alone. Hopefully some of the BRIC countries and Ecuador will be able to send food and medicines as well with the boxes cleary marked with their flags for the RT cameras to give DC the bird.
The leader of the first Ukranian troops to surrender at the Russian checkpoint is being tried in court by the Junta:

The ICC was created by the UK/US Empire solely for its own purpose. Thus its jurisdiction/authority is purely cosmetic. A war criminal is one who opposes mirage queen Elizabeth NoName. Her proxy/patsies are not war criminals—they are hers.
And…
Sparing the Brits/French at Dunkirk was just one of Hitler’s multiple peace offers. But the satanists needed Germany’s annihilation before all Europe could be mastered.

Are you saying that Putin is the new Hitler ????
This is like the equivalent of a hostage situation- but where the hostage taker threatens to shoot his PARTNER if his demands aren’t met. Oooookaaaayyy…
On a serious note I think this is really important and possibly deserving if it’s own post-
It’s come to my attention that fake photos are being circulated- or rather, real photos from other war-torn places and mislabeled as being from Ukraine, supposedly distributed by pro-Donbass, anti-fascist elements but most likely being used as a psy-op by Kiev to discredit the real photos, of which there are plenty. So please, be very careful of any photos you share on social media. I absolutely hate this kind of thing. This is a link to an article about it, you can see some examples and get the full scoop.

This was a brilliant tactical move by the US. The ukies are just fodder and they will be sacrificed just like the afghans fighting the soviets. The idea is to hurt Europe and not destroy it. If Russia sanctioned gas, they would shut it all off and that would cause a lot of damage. As it is, Europe will have to get used to higher gas prices and mild shortages but not enough to cripple industries entirely. Might cause competitive problems with higher energy prices. Now Russia can not use gas as a weapon or negotiating point from a much weaker position. They will be trying to increase delivery by any means possible.
As it is, Russia has lost this round. It will hurt Europe and pretty much destroy Ukraine. Yats sure aint Ukrainian. The US actually found a bunch of people who would commit suicide to save the US system. US will have to save the EU because they need it, but they sure dont need ua.. In fact unkle sam is salivating at the chance to unload such a huge unstable failed state on the door step of Russia and the backyard of the eu.. The stupidity of Europeans is just amazing and the stupidity of Ukrainians is well unbelievable. But it is on par with the Iraq bloggers who were cheering the invasion of Iraq.. Anyone remember them? They thought the US who converted iraq from a modern society into medieval ages would fix all the stuff they had bombed 10 years before. Iraq had child mortality rates lower then even the US and now its almost the heightest in the world.
Handelsblatt might be right.
Suppose it is true that the fall of the USSR was a deception. Yes oligarchs exploited Russia, but these oligarchs were connect to the power elite.

This is an interesting blog with photos created by two Brazilians who are travelling around Donbas region and making a documentary about the conflict from the separatist NAF side.

I didn’t find it very interesting, since I’ve seen a few of these “color revolutionary” travelogues before. The people they “hung out” with struck me as also the sort who do “color revolutions”. Their negative bias, and that of their “friends” was quite obvious and I wouldn’t put any credibility in what they wrote. The blogosphere is full of these sorts of “personal witness” sorts of things now, it’s part of the “full spectrum dominance” of the media message people are meant to see in the ziofried west. My guess is they are supported by Israeli, Brit or American NGOs.

Greetings Saker and Friends!
Our collective collaboration has been rather busy working on an expose related to the controlled media spin and the Harper Regime’s war mongering narrative here in Canada with regards to the situation in Ukraine.
We have previosly posted a few updates here and are wondeing if someone coild help us research a couple of things that we thought were available in a couple of recent articles and comment threads. We have had a couple of interesting comments to our latest summary article that we cannot provide the necessary insight.
A commenter referenced the children with AIDS at the besieged orphanage that are being prevented from being evacuated. This was referenced from some comments posted in an article from the Globe and Mail with the comments that they submitted that placed the blame on the self defense forces and we are fairly certain that someone here has mentioned this and that the Right Sector or similar oligarch funded paramilitary group may be ultimately responsible. The site that was mentioned apears to be propagaring pro-Kiev propaganda. While some others are digging into that angle, we would appreciate any details that may help us adjust and counter the narrative.
Please consider assisting us by either posting a reply here referencing this comment or via our site itself. Please note that you may reply to our article anonymously by simply using a burner email addy or a properly constructed fake email addy such as blahblah@somesite.com. We’ll be checking the spam folders, as always, to assure the comment gets published ASAP.
Please take note that this is a rather fluid article that will be updated as other info is acquired. Since our media usually ends Friday evening and does not resume until Monday morning, like our govt, we’re being to greatly enhance this evidence over the weekend so the more facts the merrier the delivery.
If the article is of no interest or you have already checked it our, please consider checking out the comments since there are a few additional details about the crackdown at the Maidan in Kiev that missed the media cut.
Sorry in advance if another one of our collaboration may have made this request, not all of us have the same access, schedules or devices. Please forgive typos/etc the stupid little buttons and screen on this makes scrolling and proof reading pretty much impossible.
Btw: please feel free to post a couple of links to Saker’s articles as well. It has been a while since we “touched” upon this specific issue as we have our hands full with an utterly corrupt and contemptuous Regime and we are using all of the tools in our arsenal on multiple fronts.
Thanks in advance and a big thanks to Saker and friends for all of your efforts!

Saker:
My old grandmother, Mrs. Bronislava said, old Slavs, owners of large areas, taking a spoon of caustic soda, warned relatives that they would die in a month.
All relatives caught carts to reach the predicted time.
Those who arrived rode camp, talking about the future deceased, were BBQ, fraternized.
The thing was kinda morbid if you face today with cars, airplanes and internet.
When the guy died, it was a party, he buried the deceased and celebrating the good passages if the person had in life.
All wagon returned to their homes.
Remembering these stories my grandmother told, I believe that Ukrainians took their teaspoonful of lye.
Now it’s wait and see.

“So why hasn’t Russia taken the known Ukrainian coup plotters to the International Criminal Court at the Hague???”
Complete waste of time. “The known Ukrainian coup plotters” aren’t black. The oligarchs are rich. They’re handing their country over to the Anglo-Zionists. The Anglo-Zionists support them.
So obviously the ICC will judge them not guilty. It’s role is to hold the girl down while the big boys rape her. As Geoffrey (Timoshenko’s toyboy) Robertson so callously put it:
We saw that in Libya where the prospect of being charged with crimes against humanity … led generals to defect during the NATO strikes in 2011.
No open trial of evidence in court, note. No adherence to, or even knowledge of, the actual terms of UNSC Resolution 1973. And no objection to his favoured terror regime’s policy of ethnic cleansing, exporting terrorism. hanging blacks from lampposts, and raping girl prisoners until they beg to be killed. Just a rigid adherence to Israel’s agenda.
To re-establish the rule of international law you must first purge the international courts of placemen, time-servers, courtiers and eunuchs. Russia is trying to build a consensus against them. But the judges are not on our side. They have betrayed every one of us. They have opened the gates to hell.

great post on your blog. what are you doing here? LOL
>> This is within international law. Russia can not intern them by force as officially the struggle in Novorossiya officially ain’t a war.<<
Who says? Do you know how many people around the world are in jail for years or decads because they crossed the border without valid papers? There are thousands of fishermen who are in pakistani/indian jails for upto 10 years because the other side says they were caught on their side of the ocean. And N.Korea/Iran always put people in jail who wander into their territory even though that is difficult in N.korean space but happens all the time in iran as many iranians are jailed all around the place for wandering in like mexican illegal immigrants. If there is a will there is a way..
You have to consider the question in light of current events. You’re basically arguing two (our ten) wrongs make a right while comparing apples to oranges. I don’t disagree with the sentiment and I’m not trying to bag you, it’s just that Russia is under a microscope right now, and despite the way they’ve been demonized at every turn for every single thing they do or don’t do, they know it’s best for them to abide international law and maintain the legal and moral high ground they’ve clearly occupied. If Russia were to forcibly intern ukie soldiers, it would open them to charges as mentioned, there would be howls of outrage by the west, UN shenanigans, propaganda by the fascists about the horrible Russian prison camps which might actually be effective, and regardless of the hypocrisy and lies, because there would be a grain of truth to it, it would be a massive headache for Russia along with a hefty price tag. Russia isn’t about to let the real nazi brigades of the hook like that, but the way they’ve handled it so far has been a huge win-win for them imo.
Malaysian press charges Ukraine government shot down MH 17
http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2014/08/09/mala-a09.html
A Thursday article in the New Straits Times, Malaysia’s flagship English-language newspaper, charged the US- and European-backed Ukrainian regime in Kiev with shooting down Malaysian Airlines flight MH 17 in east Ukraine last month. Given the tightly controlled character of the Malaysian media, it appears that the accusation that Kiev shot down MH17 has the imprimatur of the Malaysian state.

Anonymous,
You write so much.
Milford Haven means that the UK can pump gas into Europe at the rate of 20 Bn cubic metres a year instead of pumping it in. This is a 40 Bn M3 change in supply for continental Europe, in addition to North Stream and various smaller LNG projects elsewhere. The previous Ukrainian gas war won’t rerun. There is more capacity from other destinations. Gas is still coming from Russia because the Japanese switched off their nukes and bought gas after the Tsunami. They have switched the nukes back on. The 40 Tembek class ships are now available for other duties. The European gas market is becoming competitive. Monopoly prices are a thing of the past. When negotiating in business, Russians always overplay their hand for a short term victory. Hard power now is always more tempting than a more stable deal later. It usually becomes a trap and all parties lose.
The gas weapon is no longer much of a weapon. Bulgarians and Romanians may find prices rather high to keep supplies flowing but the supply is there.
