Also in their daily reports they often do mention Ukie checkpoints being less co-operative about letting them through.
In all internal conflicts, there is a baseline presumption that the Government is in the right, based on the overall principle that Government should have the monopoly on the use of force. In fact this is the origin of the word “police” — they are the enforcers of the polity (ie the State). So some of them may be biased by this consideration. Others, of course, we know what kind of background they come from, so their biases would be a lot deeper (and I’d say in a truly fair organisation, enough to disqualify them from this particular job).
I would like to see some more information on the role of the OSCE. The most extensive article I found was in the KyivPost. But it basically says that most trouble happens when the OSCE isn’t present.

As for CNN, ans similar, banning people, ‘trolls’ often seem to be those who disagree with the editorial policy, or with the empire, or who support Russia.
In my experience as both user and moderator I’ve found that too often it comes down to just disagreeing with what most users or administrators think. I was once a member of a ‘user run’ site which developed an elaborate system for controlling and eliminating posters, but when someone posted things they didn’t agree with they decided to just vote him as banned immediately and ignore their rules because ‘the rules don’t apply to trolls’. They never did figure out they were echoing the same ‘the law doesn’t protect terrorists’ which they complained about Bush doing. (That was another milestone on my path to see through the ‘liberals’ hypocrisy.)
