    OMG!

After an evening spent indulging in a whole lot of Jacques Brel, and listening and humming and singing and remembering, I come here, Saker — to THAT?????

Brain bleach, PULEEZE!!! From the (grittily, marvelously, on-target) sublime, to the (disgustingly) absurd! What a trip!

    can’t… stop… laughing…

    Which, of course, it was!

“Russia Wraps Its Tentacles Around the Energy Market to Become Unsanctionable”

That’s the headline from Motley Fools investing site (not known for any pro-Russian bias).
Confirms my thesis about the utter futility of US efforts to isolate Russia.
It’s fun to watch them try, though.

Coming back to the issue of U.S. mercs, and whether SE Ukraine is a ‘proving ground’ for cadres that may some day be called up against ‘right wing neo-Confederate insurrectionists’ or ‘Occupy radicals’ closer to home…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPfUio8d3kc

This version of the infamous ‘captured American’ video contains narration and points to the FedBizOps public soliciations of 2012 and 2013 (the latter reported by ‘Infowars’ and spread around the web from there) concerning Stateside training and acquisition in AK/Soviet Bloc weaponry. This was later corroborated with the use of AKs in training at a major hub outside San Antonio, an alternative to Blackwater/Academi’s sprawling facility in North Carolina.

At the time (particularly pre Aug 2013 when the drumbeat for direct U.S. intervention in Syria reached its culmination in the East Gouta sarin gas attack) many people simply assumed that the U.S. government was acquiring this Soviet-standard ammo in plain sight for the Syrian rebels, or perhaps U.S.-backed forces in Libya or other parts of Africa where Kalashnikovs/Soviet legacy weapons are the mainstays. But perhaps there was a direct connection with Ukraine in planning for civil war there.

Nonetheless — and this was brought up in the New Insight videostream another commenter linked to…

if there really are US mercs operating in combat roles in Ukraine operating helos or jets in non language/facing roles…

…and if this American really was caught wearing a UKR Interior Ministry special police troops Sokol uniform in Kharkov (rather than a GRU fake using perhaps an American actor in Russia who thought he was doing a movie, in the vein of the CIA production ‘Innocence of Muslims’ that provided cover for Benghazi, the accent defnitely sounds authentically American)

it stands to reason several things should be true.

  6. Anonymous on June 01, 2014  ·  at 2:53 am EST/EDT

    1) This captured ‘Sokol’ American is still being held somewhere in Novorossiya or across the border, unless he was quietly released/exchanged already for Moscow or Novorossiya personnel. Recall also this Duma member Evgeny Fedorov mentioning 20 U.S. mercs ‘missing’ in SE Ukraine in one of those New Insights videos.

I think the American was most likely handed back if the video is real. But I maintain it was a fake filmed in Russia either using a Russian who lived in the U.S. long enough to sound authentically American or an American expat actor who thought he was just filming a movie and got paid well to keep his mouth shut. Covering up the face of the actor would be consistent with this theory as GRU wouldn’t want the U.S. Embassy to be able to ID the actor among Americans in Moscow or St. Pete. Unless NSA has some awesome Bourne movie-worthy audio recognition capability Snowden didn’t disclose yet, doing voice analysis on it would probably prove inconclusive as all can notice that the American doesn’t talk for very long.

    2) Any American losses in these shot down helos would most likely be covered up by saying a security contractor either ‘died in a training accident’ Stateside or was killed in some other place, maybe acting as a bodyguard for foreign businessmen in Libya or Iraq. Anything to maintain the illusion that an American didn’t die in Kiev’s war.

If we see obit/s for U.S. veteran helicopter pilot or artillerymen Iraq/Afghan vet/s with almost no info on how they died, and then a relative comes out and says their brother, uncle or son was incommunicado for weeks and couldn’t or wouldn’t say where he was headed next after signing on with Academi or a subcontractor firm, that’s a suspicious report to flag for potential US UKR KIA.

    3) If Kiev is in fact hiding 650+ KIA (as opposed to say, 1/3rd of that), while even the Tymchuk SBU disinfo site is hinting at rumors about mass graves around Slavyiansk and Donetsk where either side is hiding bodies, sooner or later specific relatives are going to come out. Since SBU and CIA now work hand in glove and people have noticed how EuroMaidanPR and other Ukrainian sites such as InfoResist have somehow found near-native Ukrainian or native English editors since NATO promised a stepped up PR effort in the Daily Beast, I think CIA is trying to put out disinfo via its SBU proxies to obfuscate the losses and prepare Ukrainians to accept the higher casulties inevitable from urban combat.

Maybe the authorities in Crimea can arrange safe passage and resettlement for the families of these killed Ukrainian servicemen who speak out to protect them from Pravy Sektor/SBU reprisals. Given that possibility it’s difficult for me to believe, even in a country of 45 million like Ukraine, that the truth can be literally buried with the dead soldiers for too much longer.

Last comment of the evening for me: I would really like to believe that Snowden’s entirely for real, that he was a true patriot who acted entirely alone and for the highest of reasons.

But I have to admit his behavior in the Brian Williams interview was odd. So has been the MSM’s tendency to give Snowden such an extended hearing — while according to RT cutting out the most damning portions of what he’s said about the NSA, including that their bulk ‘collect everything’ approach actually makes US intelligence LESS effective because of the massive noise to signals ratio (in other words, Gen. Alexander’s ‘we have to collect every haystack’ to find the needles approach = too many haystacks for even 10 or 100 times as many personnel as NSA has now to actually review at current AI/auto sorting levels). Snowden told NBC, but they didn’t air it, ‘no wonder NSA missed the Boston Bombers even after FSB gave the FBI their names’ (the Boston Charlie Foxtrot is yet another fiasco the NSA fanatics refuse to discuss or throw the FBI under the bus for).

Snowden’s fanatical haters (or at least those who play that role on TV like the celebrity/Twitter trolling Profs at the U.S. [NSA] Naval War College) do have a point however. Despite the feds failure to find a single piece of evidence showing Russian recruitment prior to Ed landing at Sheremetyevo after examining every aspect of Ed’s life up until May 2013 in the past year…it is true that Ed now lives in an FSB fishbowl. A very nice Moscow and dacha fishbowl where he can live without fear of being beaten, attacked by NSA agents fantasizing about his death or tortured. Where Ed probably has a Russian girlfriend assigned to him (is that too cynical?) or more likely at least a beautiful girl from a ‘loyal’ FSB family who won’t mind suspecting or knowing all of her interactions with Ed in ALL situations are logged/recorded. Just as surely as Ed’s encrypted laptop brought to him by Sarah Harrison is keystroked to defeat his encryption and log every chat he has with the outside world.

End of posting for tonight and OT posts for a while.

    @ Saker,

Sorry, I nearly missed your question; no, I’ve never been to Syria. I’ve watched Youtube vids in which truck-mounted AAs open fire and in return are attacked/destroyed in a heartbeat [both SAA and ‘FSA’]. I do agree with the fact that their firepower is devastating.

    @ Nora,

A bit of a sidestep, but perhaps it makes you feel better. Some expats here [Japan] pretend to be Canadian so they don’t have to answer all those pesky questions [about wars/governments/etc.]

    *******

Sometimes is see the mentioning of Alex Jones’ Infowars. I don’t trust the man. My dad told to only raise my voice when there’s a lot of noise.

Here’s a link to Alex Jones – “I Support Israel Its Their Land” Zionism. Many more links on that page. As per usual, judge for yourself.

    @ Anonymous,

    Off topic!

Answer to your question about Fukushima:

When the earthquake struck, I happened to be in a sports center. The moment I saw 7 TV screens display one and the same image [the contours of Japan with a blinking red light around it] I knew something serious had happened. The tsunami was still underway and had not hit land [or the nuclear plant – more about that below].

Although Japan is a mostly mountainous country, most people refuse to go back to where they came from, no matter how much money the government throws at them.

The government itself has told nothing but lies and I would say they created an even bigger clusterf*** in their feeble attempts to stem the radioactive leaks.

By not informing the public properly, they exposed many to radiation and by lying about the amount of radiation [downplaying it] and ‘fixing’ the numbers, have done more harm than good.

Did the tsunami cause the meltdown? Of course not.

I live Kagoshima [Southern Kyushu], but have to fly to Tokyo this Wednesday and I am not pleased with all with the nearby radiation.

On a positive note, it will be my first flight on a ‘Dreamliner.’

    Here’s my problem…

I don’t see how the “West” wins this one.

For example, suppose constant artillery bombardments create a flood of refuges entering Russia, leaving behind the “freedom fighters” who are then mopped up by superior Ukrainian Army force.

    Fantasy, pure fantasy.

Sicker alternative. The artillery bombardments actually exterminate the civilian population. Etc.

    Weird fantasy.

The only non-pure fantasy option is a huge influx of regular Russian troops to protect the Eastern population, and it ain’t going to happen.

What is happening is an influx of some particularly nasty people and weapons that are giving the brown shirts and the teenage recruits controlled by the freaks fits.

I think Obama realizes and has been told that he has a losing hand and that the only hope is enough news cycles and mass murders in the US to take everyone’s mind off Ukraine.

But there are those pesky Nazi heirs in Eastern Europe who really want American troops invading (protecting?) Ukraine. Good luck.

Flag of the sodomites, occupied Palestine, €USSR/Titanic and the US, priceless.

    About the Nazi onslaught:

According to Chocolate-Hitler the new Kippa wearing “President” of Banderastan, today is the “dead line” for the anti Nazi Novorossiya resistance to “give up”. Well it seems that the objective (and US order) still is to terrorize and kill enough civilians to force Russia into play, despite the lack of will among sane Ukie “army” to do so, even with a Nazi death threat breathing down their neck´s. Can´t see the point of this from a Nazi perspective. They have a US order but nobody to fully carry it out. The only thing that could cause enough damage and bloodbath to do so are the ready-to-fire Grad´s which are pointed at the city center as it seems. Who control those triggers?

Slighty off-topic, Saker, but very interesting and important. An English translation of the transcript of a German investigative reporting show on the truth about Maidan is now ready. I completed and uploaded just a few days ago:

    https://wikispooks.com/wiki/File:Maidan_snipers.pdf

It originally aired on the program ‘Monitor’ on April 10th and went viral on the German social media. I thought for sure that some English-language source would pick it up, but it has yet to happen. Even so, some alt sources (such as Naked Capitalism and CounterPunch) have referred to it, so I think your readers would benefit from reading it for themselves.

Keep up the good work, Saker!

To Crossvader: When the proverbial chit hit the fan and Crimea went east — Jay Carney told American’s to boycott Russia and Soros told everyone to dump Gazprom. Then I read a succinct comment on Zero-Hedge that went: “Is Gazprom<$7 a buying opportunity? Calling the First Ministry of Fuck-Yea”. I don’t invest based on ZH as people tend to talk their book. This time was different. I ignored Carney’s mewlings and Soros warnings to short Russia and I bought Gazprom — for the first time EVER — under $7. It felt REALLY good. Hope to hell others did the same. AGS

    http://www.wdr.de/tv/monitor//sendungen/2014/0410/maidan.php5

Bericht: Stephan Stuchlik, Olga Sviridenko, Philipp Jahn

  30. Anonymous on June 02, 2014  ·  at 1:19 am EST/EDT

Basically The Right sector, Svoboda & US sponsored are all more likely to have used snipers against both Yanukovich and Maidan

Reporter (Übersetzung MONITOR): „Haben Sie ballistische Gutachten?“
