The Big Picture: Since the assassination of JFK and the commencement of the “post-industrial society” in the USA, the west has been on 50 year bender of drugs, cultural pessimism, export of manufacturing jobs and industrial capacity, imperial wars, anti-scientific frauds (“anthropomorphic climate change”) public and private debt explosion of all kinds, wild and irresponsible gambling, all vectored by our satanic elites around one core belief: Humanity is a species of beast whose numbers have become too numerous, and it is the duty of the elites to “thin the herd” by whatever means necessary, no matter how disgusting or immoral. If doubt concerning that belief is successfully introduced by proof and reasoned argument, the less than top tiers (forget the top ones) hesitate to break ranks with their superiors for pragmatic reasons: They know where their immediate bread is buttered, so they keep their heads down.
To keep the bender going and maintain control in the primary power base (USA) that these elites have hijacked for their own power, prestige and greed, these elites must pacify the majority of Americans by maintaining the debt bubbles as long as possible, at the expense of the present and future of all peoples everywhere. As Putin so simply put it, “Our western partners wish to solve their problem at our expense.” And if they could have or could yet pull it off, those elites would tear Russia apart and pick its bones as quickly as possible, to better maintain their ability to more slowly strangle and depopulate the rest of the planet, including North America and UK.
Possibly because of an historical identity that says “No” to such fascism, Russia, very late, but just in time, has produced a man that says “No!” and who has so far been able enough and smart enough to keep himself and his nation alive and growing stronger.
More Americans and their representatives need to say “No!” Then it’s game over for our rotten elites and a bright future for the rest of humanity, who will owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Putin and the Russian people who support him. In the meantime, don’t be spectators cheering him or them on. Get off your butts and be good allies on the right side of the fight.
Indian diplomat Ambassador M. K. Bhadrakumar writes in today’s Asia Times about the Sputnik’s disclosure of Merkel’s ties to the CIA and says:

I actually think that Russians “like a leader” more than the west…and that has to do with being ‘East’
