Mr. Lavelle would do well to suppress his excessive use of “here.” It’s a little distracting to the educated English listener. We know no caps. Changed on this ocassion – next will go to trash he’s “there.” Also, it’s nuclear, not nukelar. Otherwise, of course, stellar topical coverage. Great program.

Seriously, you’re going to disrespect Peter for minor grammatical issues? I’m sure that as an “educated English listener” you find his use of “nukelar” quite offensive but as one of the 99%, I’m glad to tell you that more people say it like Peter than like you.
Are you actually disoriented by Peter’s use of “here?” I know, “here” is supposed to mean NYC or LA but, you know, once you understand that Peter is in Moscow, it all makes sense.
I’m not a fan of Peter Lavelle because he winds up being incredibly repetitive (only Russia has abided by international law). Yes, of course, and the US is a state sponsor of terrorism. It’s really obvious to anyone who has studied the situation and I’ve known that for a long time, what’s the point in going over that in every show? Well, that and it always seems like he has 2 people who agree with him and one American (proxy) representative that everyone gangs up on because they try to make the American (maybe proxy) try to make sense of the difference between spoken American policy and actual American policy.
For what it’s worth, Peter is just flat wrong when he says stuff like “America isn’t acting rationally.” My overlords have very clear policies but you need to watch what we do not listen to our words. It’s a shame that Peter seems to think that sociopathy isn’t a rational public policy. Yes, our policy seems (and is) insane, but it’s sociopathic with well defined goals like destroying Russia and China, not something that makes no sense or is incoherent. Well, yeah, it is, in some sense, but you make a bad mistake when you think a sociopath isn’t rational.
If you really want to know what the US is up to, ignore the words and follow our acts.
I suspect Peter “does” know the truth. But he is talking to a Western audience. And in the West,they would never agree that it is a plot. So to get around that,he has to “pretend” that they are “just ” being irrational. And making “mistakes” and “errors”. People in the West would understand that their regimes can make “mistakes”,but won’t accept (for now at least) that it is planned evil instead.
You make good points Bob and I can see how Peter is trying to pound some truth into the Idiot Americans who have no clue as to what’s going on in the world. On the other hand, your average ignorant American wouldn’t be watching RT, which is why I find it a bit tedious.
To be fair though, I’m very impressed with the latest Crosstalk: the cast seemed balanced and he’s finally moved beyond “demonizing” (rightly so) the US. I was really shocked, it felt like maybe Peter had actually read my critique and responded with a better show. (If so, cheers Peter, that’s great!)

As tensions persist between Moscow and Ankara over the downing of a Russian jet on the Syrian border in November, Russia’s Caspian Sea Fleet has begun testing at the Podsolnuh radar station, which can monitor İstanbul.
According to a report in the Cumhuriyet daily on Monday, Russian officials have said that test runs at the Podsolnuh radar station, which was set up on the Crimean Peninsula in 2014 after Russia annexed the region from Ukraine, have been successful.

Watching Babich, one is reminded that Russians seem to never learn about Europe, and to also fail to realize that it isn’t really Amerika that is the problem, it is the dictatorship of finance capital that runs the Anglo-American Empire that is the issue. People like McCain and Hillary are still just employees. The problem is the banksters, and their takeover of the world. Instead of pleading their case to Europeans, a better strategy would be to get rid of the same parasites inside Russia, starting with their financial and economic sectors.
Yes ,that would certainly be a good start. As to Babich,he like so many Russians want to see the “goodness” that should be in the World. And fail to see that much of that is only an illusion. It always seems to take an invasion (Napoleon,Hitler,etc) for them to change. And then once that is defeated,they go back to dreaming of “goodness” again. I simply despair sometimes at thinking how sad it is that things must get right down to the end for them to take action. I posted a while back about not needing to worry about war because the US wasn’t prepared in Europe yet. And that we should only worry when we see them doing that. Well,we are now seeing that. They are a little smarter at it then in the past. But if we look we can see them preparing. They are moving nukes into Germany. They are talking of only “reassuring” the Eastern European stooges by breaking the agreement of no permanent NATO troops in those countries. Now they are saying they are going to station permanent forces in the Mediterranean to “help” in the migrant crisis (that they helped create).And they are storing NATO armaments in the Baltic States,again for “confidence building” among those NATO members in the East. Little by little,piecemeal,they are preparing for war. Without doing it openly in one big movement. Hopefully the Russians have picked up on those separate signs as well. But its difficult to say if they have or not.
