I have just run onto this article at NSBC. Russia making progress?

    http://nsnbc.me/2015/09/15/arab-foreign-ministers-suspend-cooperation-with-turkey/
TCP : Arab Foreign Ministers have decided to suspend Arab – Turkish cooperation upon a request from a unnamed Gulf State, Arab League officials told Youm7 Tuesday.

Maybe someone has convinced them Turkey will backstab them at the first opportunity?

    How is TurkStream going anyway?

Putin should make a Statement to the effect of – “Every country, like Hungary, has the right to protect its international borders and determine who is allowed entry to the country.”

That would certainly win him brownie points among many people in Europe and especially in Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, even Poland.

    • Penelope on September 17, 2015  ·  at 6:22 pm EST/EDT

Julian, Turkstream was suspended back in June I think, then cancelled more recently. Rumor was that the US told Turkey it couldn’t transit Russian gas towards Europe, but cd import it for its own use. Then Turkey requested the Russian proposal to be broken into the two parts; they accepted the one, rejected the other.

Beginning of July, Gazprom reopened talks w Ukraine abt gas transit.

But who knows? Things change. Maybe back to Southstream eventually.

Brilliant. Best one ever. The man in the middle with the Golden Gate behind him IMO was right on, except for not distinguishing better the kind of refugees. Murphy on the left was an embarrassment; leaves me ashamed to be Irish; a mealy mind if I ever saw one. I’ve been there and still am so I can relate. The Indian on the right was good but a little too soft-headed on the refugees. The moderator really showed his heart and I agree with him. I am getting more and more impatient with talking-heads who cannot or who refuse to see that with the West we are dealing with sick psychopaths and worse, with collaborators, who in the words of St. Paul are “deceits of the devil [evil]. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, [it is also] but against the principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.” In brackets is mine. I don’t agree with most of Paul but in this case if he really wrote it, I do. Regardless, patriarchal religions like Paul’s took their ideas from the preceding pagans and rewrote them for their own purposes. And further, the pagans took their ideas from the previous aboriginal love culture which was an oral tradition. Whatever. A brilliant program in which Peter Lavelle and the man in the middle nailed the truth. If only we could see the writing on the wall (and I include myself) but as we used to say, some can’t hit the broadside of a barn from ten feet, because they don’t want to, most often because their paychecks depend on their not seeing or saying, not to mention the fear of punishment. Terranam13,

Unbelievable, as bad as the US/UK complaining that Syria is protecting an airfield w ARTILLERY. I mean, it’s not as if it’s a warzone or anything.

Have you seen this? Turkey will open Incirlik airbase to ALL the NATO “anti-ISIS” bombers– and insist upon controlling them:

“Turkey insists that operations, flight routes and targets should be decided collectively by the coordination cell, but subject to Turkey’s final approval. This means decisions made at Incirlik must be conveyed to Ankara immediately. The coordination center in Ankara must be kept informed of all operations and flights in real time with Incirlik.

“Ankara is trying to insert a clause that gives it the authority to send back the coalition planes in case of contravention of the agreement.

” The emerging concept is coordinated planning of Turkish air operations against the PKK in Iraq and US attacks against IS. The United States and Turkey would know all the details of each other’s operations in Iraq, but not interfere with each other.” (“What’s US really doing at Turkey’s Incirlik Air Base?“, Al Monitor)

“Also, Erdogan is going to have the final say-so on who is targeted and who isn’t, which means that his attacks on the People’s Protection Units (YPG) or the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and can continue unabated, but Washington will have to get the go-ahead for their attacks on ISIS.

“If it sounds like Erdogan is in the drivers seat, it’s because he is. The US will have to do whatever Ankara tells it to do or get the boot. It’s that simple. How do you think the Obama crew is going to like taking orders from a megalomaniac like Erdogan?”

“According to Hamid-Rezi Taraghi, the international affairs spokesman for the Islamic Coalition party and a former member of parliament, Iran is prepared to send Iranian forces into Syria. “If necessary, we will… send up to 100,000 Basij or revolutionary guard fighters.” http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2015/08/21/ankara-the-new-capital-of-jihad.html

Joseph Farrah aka David Booth on Syria “fighters” fiasco.
Guest appearance by John “Jonny Reb” McCain.
    http://www.wnd.com/2015/09/obamas-syrian-fighter-plan-implodes/

During Gen. Austin’s testimony, Arizona Republican John McCain expressed frustration over the U.S.-led coalition’s inability to degrade the terror group’s ranks.

“Published media reports suggest that the CIA’s estimate of ISIL’s manpower has remained constant, despite U.S. airstrikes, which suggests that either they were wrong to begin with, or that ISIL is replacing its losses in real time. Neither is good,” McCain said, NBC reported. “Indeed, this committee is disturbed by recent whistleblower allegations that officials at Central Command skewed intelligence assessments to paint an overly-positive picture of conditions on the ground.”

    • Julian on September 17, 2015  ·  at 3:37 am EST/EDT

You know, I can almost buy that McCain is not some evil mastermind but rather the ultimate “useful idiot” who actually believes in his own BS about the FSA bringing freedom and democracy to Syria.

what a weird looking specter Peter picked for this one…and called him ‘my friend’…but put the old scarecrow in his place for sure…what a sleazy top American representative that Richard guy is.

And yes, Scott is a great American guy..yes…..

And I love the Indian too in London.

    • chimmy on September 17, 2015  ·  at 11:23 pm EST/EDT

I appreciated Richard mainly because I more or less share the viewpoint of the other two — three counting Lavelle. For my thinking, he represented the other but so much better than those war crazed retired generals on Fox who insult one’s intelligence. I would have even liked to hear more. Truly a poly-vocal performance.

      • Ann on September 18, 2015  ·  at 6:46 am EST/EDT

yes, I’m being tongue in cheek a bit…Richard looks like someone out of a Shakespeare play actually….very interesting looking.

    • Anonymous on September 18, 2015  ·  at 7:58 pm EST/EDT

Great broadcast, and Peter really showed his convictions and wasn’t afraid to call a spade a spade. Murhpy is a total embarrassment. Scott was great but agree with earlier post that he didn’t—I guess didn’t ave the chance to—present a clear picture of what “refugees” means. Notice how the nomenclature keeps sliding arouind between “refugee” and “migrant.”

I also agree totallly with the earlier post re the Kamil (sp?), who was pretty good, but got way too emotional over the refugees ” in despeartion.” Obvioulsy many or even most of of them are actual desperate refugees. But not all. Obviously, there are other within these ranks, just as, I believe, was the case in Rwanda. And these few people mayl have a violent agenda, a political agenda, and a few can cause a lot fo trouble. Especially if they are under the radar because there were no border controls. Now they can run around Europe like in a playground.

Kamil int his instance reminds me of The CrossTalk talking head in Seatlle, a few days ago, who couldn’t back off and let his mind (as opposed ot hear/emotions) get a handle on this issue of the actual make-up of the new waves of migrants (yes, I’ll used that word now. THis is also a closed mind, sorry. Let’s look facts in the face. Kamil’s comment regarding Corbyn’s comments regarding the necessity of new vocabulary or whatever was beside the point and, I feel, reflected his own experience of racism in the UK and so he cannot take off these blinders to objectively assess the current situ.

The quesiton is: Who are the migrants and does a couintry have a right to control its borders and control who enters. Of course a couintry has the right to do this. I think Scott is spot on with his view that if Putin comes out with a clear message directed toward EUROPE, particularly EASTERN EUROPE (i.e., “Yanks, I am not talking to you, so butt out”) in which he presents a solid front with those coiuntries and outlines why a country must have border controls—especially in the current tyope of environments, to preserve the peace—then I think he will get traction, as Scott asserted. But with the mSM in control, how does Putin get this message out to the couintries concerned? Perhaps by sending envoys for private talks and bypassing the media altogether. In fact, I bet he is already doing that .I hope so.

Boy, with Erdogan seems to be competing iwih Israel for whcih tail is the best at wagging the USA dog.

      • Ann on September 19, 2015  ·  at 6:15 am EST/EDT

I guess there are alot of wannabe migrants in Syria. Familys whose sons don’t want to join the army are having to leave Syria. There’s a local initiative here in my part of the world to bring such a family to Canada.

But the waves of migrants hitting Europe seem to be mostly males between the ages of 14 and 40…at least from the videos I’ve seen…so I don’t know if there’s two different migrant groups.

Many families in Syria send their young men out of Syria to save their lives…whether this is a justified behavior is not mine to judge. I guess if I were a male Syrian, feeling like I do from this armchair, I might join the army. Perhaps the Western MSM in Syria has discouraged this. But it seems many Syrians are not all that loyal to Syria and are wanting to leave and forget that there is a big problem with the West…They want to be the west I guess.

This Richard Murphy freak from New York, former Ambassador to Syria: He looks like one of these other child-eating reptiles (like Yellen, Rockefeller). Maybe David Icke is right about that.

He neither looks nor speaks nore behaves nor “thinks” like a human.
I’m not sure if he is aware of it: Whatever position he attempts to defend, to normal audiences he achieves the 100% opposite! So let’s keep inviting him …

Romania criticizes Hungary for new fence and even THREATENS it: “””””10:00 p.m.

Romania’s prime minister has criticized Hungary for planning to put up a wire fence along part of its border with Romania to slow the flow of migrants.

Victor Ponta said Tuesday on his Facebook page that “barbed wire, aggressive laws, prison and brutality will not resolve problems.”

Ponta added on Antena 3 television that he was “horrified” to think about what to do “if Hungarian troops begin to shoot or kill children and women.”

He said the fence plans show that Hungary “in the heart of Europe, has political decision makers which are no better than those in Syria, Libya or other countries that refugees flee from.””””””

I have to say I do tend to agree with the guy in front of the golden gate bridge, this is a planned destabilisation of Europe we are currently witnessing in progress, and the EU donkeys are still under the delusion that official Washington is their “ally”.
Amrrica is stone broke with no prospect whatsoever of ever repaying their mountain of debt, couple that with the AIIB, the establishment of the BRICS bank, deeper economic co-operation between Russia and China that is slowly but surely consigning the US dollars reserve currency status to history, etc. and the psychopaths in Washington can see themselves being consigned to the dustbin of history. They will not sit back idly and see this happen. They would sooner bring chaos and destruction to the whole world than see this happen hence the current invasion of Europe by the current flood of refugees. Erdogan is emptying his refugee camps and sending them on to Europe and I am without a shadow of a doubt that there are a good number of terrorists among them.
The majority of Syrian refugees are internally displaced, some 7600,000 people. Those refugees who chose to flee outside Syria are usually those who are against the government of Bashar-al-Assad. Europe now has a seriou problem. I have always said that what America has been doing for years to countries it doesnt like it would eventually end up doing to its so called “allies” too and its now happening, remember Nulands “fuck the EU” ?
They started it off by creating a problem for the EU in Ukraine, and the EU donkeys were stupid and traitorous enough to go along with it, now they have a refugee crisis of biblical proportions to contend with. I think its time the rest of the world, and this includes Europe, realises that this is a fight to the death with America, and its either us or them.

  20. Dennis on September 17, 2015  ·  at 10:39 pm EST/EDT

Richard Murphy should have been heard out. He has a good mind and extremely relevant experience as ambassador to both Syria and Saudi Arabia. Peter Lavelle was a bad moderator. At minute 15:15 he went ballistic at Murphy’s anodyne statement that “increased militarization is not going to get us any closer to negotiation.” The immediate context was Russia’s recent increase in military help to the Syrian government. Lavelle was incensed that Murphy ignored that until recently the increases in militarization had come from the West. Did Murphy ignore this? The audience won’t know because Lavelle wouldn’t shut up.

To understand Murphy’s inclusion in the discussion, and his theme of newfound humility in Washington, we must know his position in 2002-2003 on invading Iraq. Every pundit on US foreign policy should wear a big hat colored by his/her position on that. But some don’t.

Murphy headed the Middle East Studies section of the Council on Foreign Relations’ until 2004 so he must have left traces. Watch the C-Span interview from October 2002. (http://www.c-span.org/video/?173045-4/us-policy-toward-iraq) He is careful, diplomatic. While he does distinguish himself from the “neo conserative movement”, his word “hope” at 29:56 seems to refer to his own, rather than Washington’s, hope for a UN mandate for attacking Iraq. His non-answer to the question posed at 55:34 shows he knows that the invasion is coming.

Watching the 2002 C-Span interview of knowledgeable Richard Murphy by non-hysterical Steve Scully exposes: first, the shallow spectacle of Mr. Lavelle’s program, and second, the toll of the past 13 years on Mr. Murphy.

          Hi Ann,

you are right. And it is foolish to believe like Dennis, that this CFR criminal says the truth when claiming “we the US lost the overview”.
They know exactly what they want: Destruction and americanization of the entire (so far remaining) world including EUrope.

The sad thing is, the US is already in too deep into this matter to back out. For the US to back out, let alone repent, she’ll have to climb over a nearly impossible mountain and after that, traverse over a bridgeless chasm where innocent blood has constantly spilled. The US is far, far too invested at this point to be turning back, thinking that with a few more steps, she’ll be out of the throes. This explains all the desperate measures (eg., ISIL, and arming Al-Qaeda) that we’re seeing right now. With millions displaced from their homes, and countless innocent lives lost, why stop now? Everything is too late. Just turn a blind eye and keep saying that it’s all about democracy. After all, a lot of people still buy this crap.

Power corrupts and will seek to maintain itself. So to hell with all the people on earth so that 4.4% of the global population can have its way. Nations, get out of my way!

I think this is the tragedy of our modern times.
