I think Peter works pretty damn hard…these crosstalks are almost every night now….I’m actually really impressed by Peter Lavelle. He’s a hard working dude…
CrossTalk: Mideast Alliances – Debate in a Vacuum.
Three of my greatest fears are, of, hard work, responsibility, and debate in a vacuum.
During the ‘debate’ James Carafano of Heritage Foundation repeatedly labelled Syria’s democratically elected President, Bashir al-Assad, a “genocidal” dictator. Not one of the other participants took the time to properly correct this CIA mis-direction agent.
Firstly, Assad is not a genocidal dictator. Assad, comes from a politically powerful family, but he is nowhere near that description. He is leading a smallish nation that has been under enormous political and military pressure from the Zionist/American/British-and French imperialist powers. Syria’s Golan Heights have been occupied by the Zionist land thieves, who have attempted to annex it to their growing empire. And Syria, in addition to being assaulted by Zionist/American Terrorist troops, is fairly regularly bombarded by the Zionist’s own Air Force (which rouses no complaints from the imperialist liberal democrat gang mouthpieces of the NYT, or the Huffington Post).
Note the attempt at innocent sounding ‘Golly Gee look at the chaos in Syria’ as an excuse for the Zionist Land Thieves to move settlers on to the Native American’s-er Syrian territory.
Secondly, the leaders of the imperialist Western nations either ARE genocidal dictators, or are the servile minions of the genocidal totalitarian Oligarchs.
To say, just that much, would have taken any one of the debate participants, including its moderator, Peter Lavelle, approximately 30 seconds.
But, as John Belushi used to say; “But Noooooooo!”
They set up the political confrontation; then carefully proceed to lose it (“but we tried hard, we did our best, we ran out of time, he kept interrupting me/us”). One individual defeats the other three. One gets to say Assad is bad, and the others don’t quite manage to – effectively reply. Context is thrown out the window. It is no accident that th word-concept “context” has all but vanished from the English language.
The Huffington Post continues to be absorbed with an overview of the key elements of today’s news concerning Syria. It attempts to offer a carrot to some of its rebellious readers (it actually has a few), in a rare admission that the Russian Government’s -defense of its defense- of the Legal and Constitutional Syrian Republic has some merit. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-bromwich/syria-the-times-and-myste_b_8236164.html
The truly Heroic Russian action, taken at great risk, and against all odds, is in defense of not only Syria, but of Iraqi, the Kurdish, Lebanese, and Palestinian nations; and before the Sacred Halls of History, their military bravery, defends all of humanity. The Russian show of moral and military strength, has shaken loose some truth. And the truth will make us free.
It was a close call. If the Russians hadn’t resisted in Georgia, Crimea, Novorossya, Crimea, and Syria, they would have faded away, and become wraiths (Brzezinski’s plan). The Russian are in motion – upward. However, the final assault on Mordor must involve all the peoples of Middle earth, not just the Russians.
At home, in our post-republic America, our sadly non-sovereign America, the Oligarchs must not be allowed to host their totalitarian and unconstitutional electoral farce in 2016, without resistance on our part. By resisting, we prove our own existence. The Russians are proving theirs. Now, it is our turn.
Hi Peter, another one of your long complicated discourses, that you’re going to be infuriated if not every one reads the whole text of….
My NSHO (not so humble opinion) is, break these long comments into two…perhaps even on separate threads, then all us speed readers will be able to cope.
Love Ann
ps…now I’ll try to do the whole thing again, but I might need to print it….screen reading isn’t the easiest for me.
so now I’ve read your post again, and I have to disagree with you. I like Peter lavelle alot and I don’t think any of the guests actually called Assad a dictator…the disagreeable guy in the middle just kept saying that he didn’t think that bombs were the answer…(b.s)…..
But I like Peter Lavelle alot and I liked the woman, as I said further up the thread…so I liked this show.
As long as the bad guy in the middle doesn’t get too much time speaking I can tolerate these shows…
Interesting article from RI: evidently the NYT is admitting to a 10,000 man CIA sponsored and trained army aligned with Al Nusra and other Islamic fanantics. But they are not ISIL!!!!
Ooops,I thought they said the other day they had 4 or 5 trained fighters. And as I recall al-Nusra is also called “al-Qaeda in Syria or al-Qaeda in the Levant”.And according to this report, ” the United States designated Jabhat al-Nusra as a foreign terrorist organization, it has also been designated by the United Nations Security Council, France,Australia, the United Kingdom,Canada, Saudi Arabia,New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Turkey”. So the CIA now decides to support a branch of the group that they claim attacked the US at 9/11.I won’t get into the 9/11 dispute. My only point is, the US claims al-Qaeda did the attack. But now they are willing to ally with them.Could be a big problem for the US home front reconciling that I think.
Q; al-Nusra is also called “al-Qaeda in Syria or al-Qaeda in the Levant”.
R; I just call them ‘A Lot of Suicidal Horrifying Idiots Terrorizing Syrians’ – AlShits

If you remove all the propaganda from the War in Syria it leaves a clear choice for people in the World. If you support secularism in society. If you support freedom of religion. If you support rights, for women, minorities, and the rule of law. Then you support Assad. If you support religious oppression. If you support no rights for women, and other minority groups. If you support a religious dictatorship with death to those that protest it.Then you support the US backed jihadis. There isn’t a clearer choice I know of.The irony of it is,that the “so called” liberals in the West. That go into a frenzy over “human rights” are totally blind on Syria. And support those that would deny everything they claim to believe in.The hypocrisy is too thick to even cut with a knife. Is Assad,a “perfect” leader from my view, certainly not.But he is the one fighting against the evil that I despise. So I support him.Would it be nice if a Jesus Christ was the leader of Syria, certainly. But he’s not,and we have to work with what “is”.Not with what we’d like to “be”.
“If you remove all the propaganda from the War in Syria it leaves a clear choice for people in the World. If you support secularism in society. If you support freedom of religion. If you support rights, for women, minorities, and the rule of law. Then you support Assad [etc]”
That is precisely why I supported Assad from day one, when all this Syrian mess started to rear its ugly head, when was it? 2011? 2012?
Secularism is the key. This is particularly true for countries in the Middle East (or is it MENA nowadays?), because they have a lot of passionate feelings about their particular view of this or that religion (mostly Islam, let’s be fair…).
But if you have a diverse population, some sticking to this brand of religion, others sticking to this other brand of religion, the only sane solution to keep the peace is a secular government.
It’s not rocket science for gods sake!
Someone said in a comment (can’t remember if it was here, or else where) that the US has been targeting secular (or secular-leaning) “regimes” while leaving the more homogenous regimes, such as Saudi Arabia, well alone. Bang on observation, IMHO.
They’ve been doing this since their meddling in Iran (and probably earlier), back when Iran were a more secular society, well in their way to being more concerned with intellectual matters than religious ones. But noooooo! These yanks just can’t leave anything alone, can they? The rest is history, and they’ve continued their policy of chaos and ‘divide and rule’ where-ever they went ever since.
The Star Trek fictional – yet sound – concept of ‘non-interference with other cultures’ is completely alien to them, isn’t it?
As Martin-SEB said; maybe David Icke was right after all, and a bunch of aliens are in charge of this train-wreck also known as the USofA. All of this is tongue in cheek of course, but it really does make you wonder if these ‘string pullers’ are human [human, as in: normal/sane] at all.
In my personal opinion; they’re nothing but a bunch of megalomaniacs on a narcissistic ‘high’ of colossal proportions. That’s all they are! Not aliens, not super-humans, not invincible… just a bunch of mentally deranged “people” who are in dire need to be put out of their misery.
I was just using a popular idiom there, but you’re absolutely right.
Last thing we need is the father of ‘rocket science’ heading our way. A Nazi, who was later allegedly (most likely… “allegedly” *wink-wink*) wheeled off to the US under Operation Paperclip, non the less…
So!
How about if we start a different idiom to mean the same = brainiac (?)
Something, like, I donno… neuro-science, or nano-science, I’d even settle for political-science ;)
some info on that Khameini book giving Nutty nightmares, out about August/2015 apparently, now in English, i posted a pdf link to it earlier today but it’s “.ir” extension so SURPRISE! it’s blocked.
A very small sampling of some of its key passages is here, along with at bottom a detailed description of Nutty’s presence & claims in his speech there at the UN where he just glared for 45 sec silently.
The first half hour of the forty-three minute speech was about Iran and the Iran deal. Seemingly he resigned himself to the the deal, but warned the world community that they built the deal and they better make sure it is implement, or else Israel will defend herself. He also took time to reach out to Washington, talking about the U.S. Israel partnership as indivisible and what a good friend Obama has been. An attempt to calm the stormy weather prior to his visit to the White House next month.
The Israeli Premier began by outlining what the rogue regime has been up to in the past six months:
One very important thing I forgot to mention before, (I’m neglecting a lot of things just to keep up with the news) but I just wanted to say: that girl is ON FIRE! Knowledgeable, feisty, intelligent, she’s the whole package; a true trooper.
Are all the pro American imperialists retarded?
Yes!
Exceptionally so, yes.

I agree – she is awesome.

agree… she’s beautiful and very smart!
Kadyrov wants Chechens in Syria too….he has a personal link to fighting terrorists…they started in his home country
They killed his father (and make him look bad,as they still exist) too.He has several good reasons to want them destroyed.
Someone should tape Peter Lavelle’s left hand to the table.
That waving is pretty scary on a big screen TV… .)
