Appendix V presents the arguments made about the intial report, and the Dutch Safety Board responses. A comment from the RF/FATA notes that there was no analysis of the “high energy objects”. – “The investigation did not identify the steel grade from which the high energy objects were manufactured. Such analysis was absolutely necessary for each type of fragments in particular because 9M38 and 9M38M1 rocket warheads use different types of steel grades for pre-formed fragments…”. The Safety Board response was: “Studying the detailed chemical composition of the steel is not relevant to the investigation as the high-energy objects are usually made from low-grade metal (unalloyed steel) originating from different batches … Matching the fragments found with reference material from an intact warhead would not be possible because of these differences.”

So here we have an unsupported assertion from the Safety Board in direct contradiction to the manufacturer, who presumably knows what he’s talking about. The Safety Board excuses itself from having to confront this evidence.

Something is rotten in the state of Holland -and elsewhere in the west.

The Dutch report just plain stinks. Stinks to high heaven,

I don’t think too much of the commentary either this time -no technical analyst, no forensics and no discussion of why Russia is silent. Also (John Laughland) an SU-25 is hardly capable of having 5 crew paracuting out of it.

    • Terry on October 14, 2015  ·  at 10:06 am EST/EDT

He meant the transport aircraft shot down near the Russian border a week earlier, which was not a Sukhi, but an AN or TU aircraft such as an AN 24. I forget the particular model. That likely did have several crew and cargo handlers.

      • SanctuaryOne on October 15, 2015  ·  at 2:59 am EST/EDT

Right, most likely the Antonov AN-26, but Laughland did say ‘Sukhoi’ and the only one in the area according to Russia was a single-seat SU-25.

  4. Peter on October 14, 2015  ·  at 3:37 am EST/EDT

Within hours of the shootdown, before any information had come out from the site of the crash, Anton Gerashchenko posted on social media that it had been shot down by a BUK M1. Not simply a BUK missile or SAM, but a BUK M1. In the months afterwards several Kiev officials also stated that it was shot down by a BUK M1. Why so specific?
US also detected the launch. They will know to within a couple of meters where the missile was launched.

One thing that was missing from the Russian MoD presentation. A launcher radar, or actually specifying one of the radars as being a launcher targeting radar, rather than main system radar.
    Is the launcher radar required?
I am guessing but the launcher radar would give a different signature to the main radars.

  5. rainman on October 14, 2015  ·  at 6:11 am EST/EDT

There is evidence that a ukrainian fighter jet was in the area. i’m thinking that the fighter jet was ‘hiding’ in the radar space of the airliner, basically using it as a civilian shield from which to attack the rebels.

Deutsche Welle has now shown itself to be as much a disgraceful propaganda outlet as BBC and CNN. It has an “opinion” piece by “DW’s Barbara Wesel” entitled: No end to the MH17 disaster in which she writes:

    Perpetual denial is disrespectful

Flight crash experts have, however, determined that a Russian BUK-type surface-to-air missile caused the disaster. They have also stated that the deadly missile came from a part of eastern Ukraine held by pro-Russian rebels in July 2014. What the technical investigators cannot do is point their finger at a suspect [but] … All clues point to a pro-Russian rebel group.

    This media whore unashamedly continues:

    Putin should accept responsibility

Moscow repeatedly denies having played any part in the crash. Despite overwhelming evidence that proves the opposite, Russian investigators will not admit that a Buk missile was involved.

President Putin surely did not give the decisive command, but continues to behave as though he has nothing to do with the situation in eastern Ukraine. … But he reveals himself to be small-minded and cowardly when the issue turns to accepting responsibility for his political and military decisions.

It was his weapons in the hands of rebels supported by him that caused the disaster. Though not ultimately proved, everything points in that direction.

Not only is this “opinion” a piece of lying propaganda intended to demonize Russia and Putin (as usual in the German MSM), it is also (with DW’s apparent approval) a direct insult to the President of Russia.

But he should not be offended. DW has now lost all credibility and its editors have shown themselves to be pathetic tools of those who were actually responsible for the disaster.

    • Mulga Mumblebrain on October 16, 2015  ·  at 7:07 am EST/EDT

The lying never stops. Look at Lockerbie, where planted evidence and various dubious ‘evidence’ ‘identifying’ one Libyan suspect in Malta, was used to affect a sham verdict. Two men accused of conspiracy, but only one found guilty!!??? As various Scottish legal experts observed, it was a disgrace to Scottish ‘justice’. But it allowed the usual blood-suckers to extract a couple of billion from Libya, and once again proved that the Empire can frame anyone. And now the scum are back, alleging that two other Libyans were involved. And the leeches are mobilising, about to use the corrupt US court system to steal billions from Russia.

  7. Uncle Bob 1 on October 14, 2015  ·  at 6:34 am EST/EDT

There were two points made in CrossTalk today that disturb me greatly.I’ve thought about the same thing in the past. One,was that Ukraine asked the ICC to extend there “jurisdiction” on events in Ukraine past maidan.Which brings the question “why” they would have any jurisdiction over Ukraine “period”.But if they “did”,why are they not investigating and filing charges over the war crimes committed by the junta in Donbass and the Odessa Massacre.Of course we know the answer to that. The ICC is an attack arm of the US/NATO only used for their purposes. But that would mean Ukraine and the US must be “cooking” something up where they can be used to help them.Second, what was said by the guest tonight, that Russia isn’t paying enough attention to that problem. That he was afraid Russia didn’t understand the danger lurking there. If true, and he may be right. That could be a real problem in the next months.

This brings up a third point, that I’ll make.Russia needs to make it known, right away. That the ICC or any other “international court” has no jurisdiction over the RF,period. So if any of these fake US stooges attempt anything it will be “dead in the water” in the beginning.Being concered with “legality” is a great idea. And in a equal World. With a level “playing field”.It would be a wonderful thing. But in the kind of NWO World we live in. Its a disastrous move to put yourself into the hands of a minion of the West.So Russia should never make that error.

    • alan on October 14, 2015  ·  at 5:00 pm EST/EDT

I wonder if Russia + other BRICS can play the same game, setup it’s own equivalent of ICC and make it clear it has the authority to put to Trial anyone, any “crime” etc. And ask all smaller nations who feel bullied by the current World Police to join….

      • Mulga Mumblebrain on October 16, 2015  ·  at 7:15 am EST/EDT

The Bertrand Russel Tribunals do a similar thing, without sentences for the perpetrators, and are totally ignored by the ‘Free Press’ as a consequence.

    • Mulga Mumblebrain on October 16, 2015  ·  at 7:13 am EST/EDT

The ICC are vermin. The Aunty Tom that the Empire put in charge to succeed another stooge, Ocampo, as Chief Prosecutor, has done NOTHING over the latest Gaza massacre, like the loyal creature you must be to work for this evil organisation of hypocrites and toadies. And the Aunty Tom is investigating the South Ossetia ‘war’ of August, 2008. No prizes for guessing which side she will target.

  8. zweistein on October 14, 2015  ·  at 9:46 am EST/EDT

A farce of the highest order.

What about the fact that many of the bodies found were in a state of advanced decomposition, were stinking and seemed to have been dead for weeks?
What about the many crisp new passenger passports found?
What about the many passenger passports that were punched/invalid?
    And so on.

The M17 false-flag operation has many levels, dozens of easy leads to follow up on, but being an CIA-Mossad intel operation, we can take it for granted that beyond the usual white-wash nothing will be ever officially investigated, uncovered and solved.

    Prediction:
Soon we will have an M17 memorial museum in Kiev, that all Ukrainian schoolchildren will have to visit at least once.

  9. Veritas on October 14, 2015  ·  at 9:48 am EST/EDT

This was a very good episode of Crosstalk.

It was a shame John didn’t get to finish his sentence about the ICC and how Russia should be prepared for it. I really wanted to hear what he wanted to say as he was there during the whole Milosovic trials. (I think sometimes Peter could allow guests to finish their sentence).

Yesterday the producers of the BUK system Almaz-Antey had their own conference which was very good and detailed. RT had it live – don’t know where to find the video clip.
The producer of the system is best placed to know what they are talking about and were very thorough.

    http://sputniknews.com/world/20151013/1028438986/Russia-MH17-Almaz-Antey.html

Today Russia presents its position on the MH17 crash. “Oleg Storchevoy, deputy head of Russia’s mational aviation regulator, held the briefing on Wednesday, October 14, in Moscow.

Russia’s official representative in the technical commission for investigating the MH17 flight crash in Ukraine Oleg Storchevoy, deputy head of Rosaviatsiya, the national civil aviation regulator, presents Russia’s position on the Dutch Safety Board MH17 final report”:

    http://sputniknews.com/video/20151014/1028496652/russia-position-mh17-report.html

Includes info like the BUK system was based on only one shrapnel fragment and Dutch refused to share info on shrapnel fragments with Russia.

Maria also had another conference slamming US reaction to report and twisting reports findings to blame rebels in E Ukraine:

    http://sputniknews.com/politics/20151014/1028493811/moscow-us-mh17-report-criticism.html

Why still no ATC tower recordings?; why no black box recordings?; why no US satellite images? etc. etc. The MSM as usual saying Russian BUK missile but not many covering the producer’s Almaz Antey report. Funnily enough it seems the NYT did have a headline that the BUK missile producers report contradicts the Dutch Safety Board – so at least it scome out somewhere in MSM.

Peter Oliver of RT today said he sat in the same room as all these other so called journalists and they all heard the same thing – yet they write untruths or twist it.

    Dear The Saker,

A very interesting interview in FR with Leonid Reshetnikov, Russian intelligence vet, on the creation of Russophobia in Ukraine – it’s recent origins and use by the US:

    http://fortruss.blogspot.ca/2015/10/russian-intelligence-veteran-world.html

He touches on MH17 also – there were rumours around the time about the UAF thinking it was Putin’s plane……

RE: the UAF thinking it was Putin’s plane.

Remember the Ukrainian air base soldier who claimed a Su25 took off with 2 AA missiles and returned with none and also claiming he heard the pilot claim the wrong aircraft got shot down after returning? It’s possible the orc rank and file involved in that attack were informed they were attacking Putin’s plane, including that pilot who returned to base minus his 2 AA missiles.

“The dog that did not bark”

Michael Bociurkiw of the OSCE first on the scene, said on camera while sitting in a park with a female reporter……..

“I saw what looked like very heavy machine gun fire”

So did I!……he has never been re-interviewed since on camera.

Something which has always been in my mind after listening to Evgeny Fedorov…….this plane was brought down 40Km from the Russian border.

Had it not turned 180 degrees after being struck, as witnesses have stated, it would have crashed in Russia and been blamed on the russian military and V.V.Putin as commander-in-chief.

Fedorov,a deputy in the Duma, believes that, failing to dislodge Putin due to his enormous popularity, the US intention was to try a ‘Milosovic’.

The anglo zionists will commit any atrocity.

Where are the ATC tapes and AT controllers ?
Why did Britain get the ‘black boxes’ ?
    Why strict confidentiality agreements ?
Why the course change directly over the hot zone ?

    and many more questions.

The british have a similar approach to unpleasant questions…….
they begin a ‘Royal Commision’ and hope to bury the matter……

    Like the Chilcott farce.

The news came out yesterday about the selling of some really powerful new weapons from Pentagon to Croatia. Apparently , with these new rockets, Croatia can now aim at Belgrade and beyond.

    http://www.jutarnji.hr/hrvatska-kupuje-vise-balistickih-raketa-dometa-300-kilometara-/1436654/

I had my suspicions before, but now it is becoming clearer that the Empire is preparing the new war in Europe, in the Balkans. Serbia is becoming more and more likely as a new target for being pro-Russian.

So numerous new questions are arising… should Serbia join CSTO ? Will CSTO accept Serbia as a new member? Will Russia this time protect Serbia from its NATO neighbours? Is Serbian government this time going to act responsively and ask for the Russian help at least a year BEFORE bombs start falling on our heads, or will it, like Milosevic and Gaddafi did, ask for help only when the hell is already unleashed?

Who cares the Dutch secret services have to say about MH-17?

It’s been and now it’s gone. Of course they will blame Russia off the top of their lungs, THAT’S PRECISELY WHY THEY DID THE FALSE FLAG ATTACK IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Will they seek to extradite Russian on Novorussian military personnel to put on a kangaroo court at the Hague?

Well, I wish those NATO bastards: GOOD LUCK!

On June 18, 2014 a video was uploaded to youtube showing Elena Kolenkina (the one who later married Motorola) speaking from Sloviansk. What she said was very interesting. The video has long been taken down along with the account that posted it (at least for the link that I have, shown below) but I wrote down the important part of what she said, regarding the habit of Ukrainian military planes to “hide” behind commercial airliners. It is possible the video has been reposted, I haven’t checked. Here is what she said as I copied it from the subtitles.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKKoKmUtQXE
“Terrible things are happening. For example, an incident that happened recently. Passenger plane was flying by. And Ukrainian attack aircraft hid behind it. Then he lowered his altitude a bit and dropped bombs on residential sector of Semenovka town. Then he regained the altitude and hid behind the passenger plane again. Then he left. They wanted to provoke the militia to shoot at the passenger plane. There would be a global catastrophe. Civilians would have died. Then they would say that terrorists here did it. There are no terrorists here. There are regular people here.”

  20. Why and why?? on October 14, 2015  ·  at 5:48 pm EST/EDT

    1) Why have Russia and the Novorussian Army entrusted the case to that notorious snake country – a member of NATO no less – at all? The same one whose kangaroo “courts” have murdered the Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic (as John Laughland aptly reminds us in this CrossTalk) and others? Why have Russia and Novorussia surrendered all the material evidence from the crash site to those lowlifes?

    2) The U.S. satellite and other intelligence must have gotten all the details about the actual event. By the same token, so must have the Russian satellite and other intelligence. One understands why the Americans are hiding their data, they do not want to reveal the truth. But then, why are Russians not revealing their data? Russian satellite intelligence is not inferior to the American one, and besides, the area in question is just across the border from Russia.

One would be interested in some objective answers.

Jim has an interesting point here; remember this is also same day as another Tianjin “fertilizer warehouse” explosion!

    October 13 2015

    A few quick things
    Russian embassy in Damascus shelled
Less than 12 hours after the U.S. dropped 50 tons of weapons to resupply the terrorists in Syria, weapons which included (confirmed) advanced anti aircraft missiles, the Russian embassy was shelled, right in the middle of a large demonstration by Syrians in support of Russia.

Even the U.S. is not saying it was all small arms ammunition in that particular delivery, someone is playing it down. It was a serious drop of serious weapons. And if Russia loses any aircraft because of it, that really is grounds for the sinking of battleships. This could all escalate very quickly now.
