The problem in France and most of Europe is the multitude of splinter political parties. Most of them stand very little different from each other. The left parties are close to each other. And the right parties are close to each other.Only small “quirks” or personalities separate them. But they serve the interests of the US and the global elite. After the fall of the USSR commonsense would have told us that the national communist parties should have joined with the socialist parties and the combined party be relabeled to show that unity. But the elites knew the danger of that. And worked to subvert any thought of that, and were successful in most countries. While on the other side for France. I see small differences between say Fillon’s thoughts of a National Catholic France. And Le Pen’s thoughts on a nationalist France “for the French”. And yet they won’t unite together. After the collapse of the USSR the US realized that by subverting the “left”,by turning them to the Center they could control them.We see the example of that most clearly in Britain with Blair’s “New Labour” and in France the absurdity of a Hollande and Macron coming out of the “Socialist” Party. No country in the West can free themselves from the US and the globalist elite until they root out and reject that subversion of their politics. If they can’t or won’t do that. Then they are doomed to extinction as sovereign nations. Not for the short term. As they already have lost that sovereignty. But for the long term as well. The elites are working to divide those nations even more. And to end any ideas of national unity, by changing the populations in those nations.Knowing that with the massive influx of foreign immigrants. And by pushing concentration of “identity” politics in those countries. They can forever keep their power (forever for them being a century or more at least. And maybe actually forever).
What you say makes sense.
But what seems even more depressing is the inability of a system with a multiplicity of parties to do any better than our utterly democratic two-party system.
Why can’t those with similar positions unite????
Israel, too, has a multiplicity of small parties, but they seem to be more agile when it comes to forming coalitions. Perhaps it ‘s because they know that all coalitions and promises are temporary . .

Good show.
And as a huge fan of Pepe (and I am! And I also think he brought-up an interesting angle to this conversation, one that I personally wasn’t aware of… like, the media PR campaign selling Macron and his wife as the perfect couple, for example), but I have to say… overall I must agree, like, 200% with John Laughland and pessimistic forecast.
Secondly, I loved Lavelle comments on the matter too. He’s absolutely right: no-one has any idea what this Macron guy actually stands for – besides being “good-looking” apparently ;/ – at which point I was wondering to myself… is this mofo really that good looking?!?
They used to say the same about how “handsome” Obama was back in the days when he was whoring himself out for the presidency, and my reaction to that was, more or less the same as with this Macarena guy… how is this guy in any way shape or form: “good-looking“?!?!?!
Anyhoo…
In any case… the whole feeling of this Cross-Talk show [I’m specifically talking about MacrObama here] reminded me of this song… (just replace Beeblebrox for Macron, or ‘Macronbrox’ and you’ll see what I mean ;-) )
.
Zaphod Beeblebrox
He’s the guy you want to vote for
When you get into that Voting Booth
Put an X next to his name
Zaphod Beeblebrox for President
Building bridges between the stars
In no way is he stupid (Oh no!)
In no way is his brain impaired
It’s just not true, he’s smarter than you And he’s better looking too
Zaphod Beeblebrox
Has the longest hair of any candidate
And he’s got the coolest shades
And his teeth are white as snow
So let’s elect him President!
He’ll build bridges between the stars Don’t believe the rumours
Don’t believe those vicious lies
They’re just not true
He’s smarter than you
And he’s better look too…
Spoken – [Imagine Macron sayin’ this…]
“Listen. I just wanted to say, y’know. Whatever presidents say, y’know…
Things like, er… the name of people and er…, freedom…
And I dunno! Democracy, stuff like that…”
Zaphod Beeblebrox for President!
Building bridges between the stars
In no way is he stupid
In no way is his brain impaired
It’s just not true, he’s smarter than you And he’s better looking too…

That was supposed to be ” our utterly UNdemocratic two-party system.”
