I think I know what Murray’s issues with Russia are – and its not because he has been propagandised.
Like yourself Gonzalo, and others here, I too first liked Murray. I found his views on “‘wokism” and the influx of alien races into Europe well stated, balanced, well expressed adn logical and fair. Then I heard an interview where he began expressing some views of Russia and China, and I left thinking ‘well, he may be OK on current domestic issues in UK but international relations he knows nothing”.
He clearly has a vitriolic hatred of Russia and I think I know why. Murray is a loudly and proudly self proclaimed homosexual, and we all know Russian views in the the main, about homosexuality. That it is an aberrancy, nothing normal, and that homosexuals can keep it to themselves. No ”Gay Pride parades” and absolutely no prosetelysing to children.
Whether nastier things go on, I dont know. Whether he knows of cases in Russia of homosexuals being violently attacked, even murdered, as used to happen in Britain and Australia, and nothing done by the Law, thus generating this hatred, I also don’t know. My overall impression has been that in Russia it is regarded as an abnormality, and those practising are requested to keep their activities private. But that is all. Homosexuals seem to live normal lives there, they get awards, they serve in the Forces.
But Murray shows the self entitlement of the narcissist. He is entitled to be allowed to parade his sexuality, to do anything he wants in the face of the normal sexuality, and no one is allowed to dispute this. Well, Russia does. @ Pamela: I think that you are onto something here. A former friend of mine whom I have known since the early 70’s came out when when we were in our 30’s. It was not an issue for me. I never held it against him. What did become an issue is that he took the attitude that if I disagreed with him on political/social issues then he was going to write me off which he eventually did.
He has a rabid dislike of Russia. Talking to him he equates Russia with the USSR, Mordor, or worse. There is nothing that the Russian government could or can do to change his position. Andrei has mentioned before that he has not encountered a more arrogant class of people than male homosexuals. From my experiences and not just with my former ‘friend’ this is an accurate assessment. They demand tolerance but do not show it.
I do agree that from my own experience of the few homosexuals I have known and interacted with personally, I have always found other instances of other psychological disorders.
For example one homosexual I knew very well also exhibited signs of complete obsessive compulsive disorder and degrees of narcissism. One of the things that does come across to me very clearly in so many homosexual males is narcissism; Narcissism being, of course, a psychological condition in which the person a is unable to empathise or express emotion or feel true emotion and having an enormous sense of self entitlement and demands to be obeyed and attended to at all costs.
This of course was not always the case in days gone by. There were the “Oscar Wilde” times when many quiet private male homosexuals were harassed and abused and we cannot deny this, the evidence is overwhelming.
But that so many now come to the fore with their demands to be listened to, allowed to do what they want to push their agenda, to push it onto children, to be virtually worshipped, to be seen as something very special is a modern “fin d’une époque”.
Whether this is standard among homosexuals this is something that heterosexuals are never ever going accept. Dear dcouzin you are comparing oranges and apples, in a vain attempt to smear G. Lira
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are 3 separate Nations.
Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimean are only (former) regions of 1 Nation.
Neither Latvia, nor Lithuania, or Estonia has the area of the combined former regions of Ukraine.
Thus there is absolutely no reason for calling G. Lira a liar.
But there is still a good reason to call D. Murray a liar, as G. Lira has proven by his pod cast.
I can assure you that most people visiting the Saker blog, are critically searching for the truth.

You quote me, but neglect to quote G. Lira. You imagine that G. Lira said that each one of the Baltic states is but a sliver of the total territory Russians currently have of what was Ukraine. But that is not what G. Lira said. He said: ” … the Baltic states … they’re not that fucking big. Certainly much smaller than these regions of Ukraine.” The word “regions” is plural. Saying three states are much smaller than five regions is not saying that each of the three states is smaller than the total of the five regions. It can either mean that each of the three is smaller than each of the five, which is false, or that the total of the three is smaller than the total of the five, which is false.
G. Lira seems to have taken an analytic philosophy course at his university (which is not as he claims of the rank of Murray’s) and fancies himself Mr. Precise. This contributes to the entertainment. These are trying times when people need entertainment.

You are quarreling about the interpretation of a detail in G. Liras report, instead of focusing on the main topic. G. Lira has proven that the reporting form Globalist paid for “journalists” and “writes” are manipulating its western viewers and is lying about the war in Ukraine.
I have backed up Gonzalo´s claim by uploading links to one of the cases where this Paid for reporting has been acknowledged and publicized in Western Media. There is countless more evidence of Fake news and paid for stories launched in western Media regarding the war in Ukraine.
I don’t give a Rats a++ for the MSM ranks of analytics, if the person doing the analysis has a corrupt bias.

First of all he is not a Russian or Ukrainian, he is of Chilean origin and educated in America.
Secondly, he was trapped by the war in Ukraine during a trip across Ukraine to visit his Girlfriend in Kharkov.

Gonzalo´s objectivity and independence is not special, as both American, Dutch, and British writers and Journalists have been reporting in line with the reports coming from G. Lira.

Indeed these are trying times.
The first casualty of any war is the truth. And it is absolutely no entertainment to figure out what is right or wrong. Today, it is easy to make a Green screen Video in Poland by Zelensky, claiming to be reporting from the Ukrainian capital Kiev during a Russian Bomb raid, but it has nothing to do with reality.
However, time will always reveal the truth.
In the meantime we will have to use the good old way of finding the truth by checking the messenger for Bias, Checking from where He or She is reporting, or whether the report can be confirmed by other independent reports.

Someone who is not a native English speaker, which G. Lira is, and I am, best not debate about what you call “the interpretation of a detail” in Lira’s report.
I agree with Scott Ritter’s recent views on G. Lira’s honesty, but I don’t find Lira entirely useless for the reasons I gave.
You do “have a dog in the fight” between NATO and Russia. Everyone does. Its outcome will affect all our lives. People just calculate consequences differently.
We are very unlike. I would never take the colors of my country and serve it proudly. I was absolutely anti-military (and anti-war) for 70 years, until this February. Russia’s decision to invade made sense.
People of very different political stripes are coming together on this view. It’s uncomfortable, but good for us.
