Exactly! One has to be truly independent, even in their needs, in order to think and speak freely. We also need economic advisers such as him and Catherine Austin Fitts
, or anyone who can lead us away from this financial and mental slavery. The entire system is predicated upon punishing those who dare to step out of line. Economy is their preferred weapon of punishment.

P.S I’d also recommend this segment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OHEIS2e3yk of the Herland Report, in which two (Gorgeous) Scandinavians are discussing how the west is turning to Russia in search of true Christian values.

This was an amazing interview. PCR covers a wide range of subjects with incredible precision and knowledge (Offshoring, rise of China, US hegemony, how power needs counterbalance, how corporate executives only looking out for shareholders’s interests etc) The interviewer was also very good.

    Brilliant!!! Loved it!

2014 certification that the state actor that is widely and commonly known as ‘U.S.A” is but an OLIGARCH by its very own highly esteemed university should be proof enough that ,the ordinary americans who reside there should not be held in same contempt as the ruling entity wether” left or right” ”,democrats or republicans”,or even ‘for war or peace” narrative controllers. This may also hold true for the other side, the other state players, either ‘mullah land’,or ‘mao land’ or even ‘hindu land’.

the popular narrative of ”we vs versus” koolaide manufactured by the nominated talking heads is for sustaining the arm industry and perpetuating fear among the larger population ,that they need them oligarch to give them security.Just imagine there is no ENEMY, what than happens to the ruling oligarch?..how do you say,”the emperor is naked”!…even if there is no enemies, the oligarch create them …where do you think the money comes from, for the mind blowing amount of weapons the ”friendly head choppers”have?

beware don’t drink them ”we versus” them koolaide sold in fashionable ways, keep hate far from your hearts.

Dr Paul Craig Roberts is so correct in his diagnosis of America’s moral and economic collapse stemming from systemic, self-centered corruption of our leadership class — which systematically silences any and all challenges, as it offshores manufacturing, technology and management functions to low-wage/ low-oversight vassal countries.

Given his lifetime of experience, Dr Roberts may not be mistaken that the 2016 election victory of Donald Trump was but a temporary blip in a downward slide. Certainly entrenched power on Capitol Hill, banking and the Federal Reserve, the so-called “Free Press” and multi-national corporation boardrooms will be the last to recognize the validity of his analysis and the cold-anger of “Trump Deplorables.”

One way or another, the US situation may be clearer after the 2020 elections.

This is dubious for their has been a golden rule amongst those in the know, that each successive president is the worst president since the last one. This has a very long standing precedent going back to at least Nixon for one reason or another. I would vote ghwb as the lone ranger but I have gotten flack over the argument.

There are, as far as I can see, two dominant power centres in the USA today. The financial parasite aristocracy, overwhelmingly, dare one say, Jewish, and the intelligence/military axis, the so-called Deep State. The two work together, at present, but one day the pips will squeak. It will be a fight between the Golden Rule (He who has the gold makes the rules) and ‘Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun’.

      • Alabama on July 06, 2019  ·  at 7:05 am EST/EDT

I actually see 3 “power centers” all working together to corral the sheep and at the same time hiding secrets from each other to keep the hot potato rotating and the worker bees functioning properly. There is the financial mechanism(social security) the legal mechanism(probate courts) and the enforcement mechanism(the head doctor).

And not until all 3 are corralled is the individual free to be themselves, worse than that are all the competing interests that lever their mechanisms to require things that have never before occurred in the history of the universe, this mechanism(s) makes it easy to control individuals simply by visualization and communication between the 3 branches of power centers.

Building a case against these 3 is no easy task, for the gvt can remain irrational longer than the citizen can remain solvent, creating an endless array of political dysfunction and human rights abuses at the highest levels of gvt.

the latent disorder in any limited system can be viewed openly ,only when it finally breaks down or during glitches.,in term of this state player and the controlling parts the glitches were,…one, the jfk murder, second being 9/11 and most recent one, trumps elected instead of hitlary …the first two glitches might have been beneficial for the controlling parts, but the last one seems to have put them at odds, that might mean a third party is at play…..we might know all of it only in about 60 years or so.

          • Alabama on July 07, 2019  ·  at 11:21 am EST/EDT

Its my belief that all is already a known and only a heart beat away from a resolution, that being said, gathering the required items for a successful stab at advancing the evolution of the human race, should take less than 60 years or the human race is further behind than even I am willing to concur with.

            • Anonymous on July 07, 2019  ·  at 5:35 pm EST/EDT

the ‘hope’ boat for humanity has already left port of anticipation, the only one who can ride out the storm ahead are the one who are not waiting for others to save them, never mind the the ‘power brokers’ whichever colour they may adorne ,good or bad & the ugly.Dependence is not a virtue or a ticket to success of any kind, here nor in the afterlife.

Roberts’s comments on “free trade”—capital stays at home and finds it best use, and the country specializes in what that country does best—is decisively contradicted by Michael Hudson. Hudson blows up this pretty idea, and others, in his recent interview with Bonnie Faulkner on the true roles of the World Bank and the IMF.

    https://www.unz.com/mhudson/the-world-bank-and-imf-2019/

Roberts seems to accept the “free trade” pretext and excuse.

I do respect PCR, but I think he is still economically naive, or ideological.
Would love to see a debate between Roberts and Hudson.

I think the crux of the matter, lies in the desire for having of some sort of social safety net — which ends up being financed bySeigniorage and the opportunity to profit through currency arbitrage –money changing.

Up to a point, namely keeping some level of agricultural subsistence, Free trade is a socially positive.

      • Anonymous on July 07, 2019  ·  at 6:25 am EST/EDT

” Free trade is a socially positive”

Well, per Hudson we do not have a system of “free trade.” it is a fiction.
If that is the case, then statements that free trade is socially positive are meaningless, null and void, without an object.
I think any sencient observer has seen that the world does not really operate on this free trade “ideal” at all. “Free trade” comes down essentially to a bunch of political deals “permitted” by DC and other global players, featuring sanctions, global monopolies, etc. It is very hard to discern much “free trade” in there.
Hudson’s analysis of the machinations of the WB and the IMF to maintain this system of advantage to developed nations reinforce and give substance to that perception.

Besides the obvious humor, Orlov makes a great illustration about the US economy relative the rest of the world. Mind blowing.

PCR’s comment refers to the so called “comparative advantage” that was mathematically discribed by David Ricardo in the early 19th century:
      http://economics.fundamentalfinance.com/micro_comparative.php

It is the favorite argument of the proponents of free trade. What they do not say, however, is that it only works under two assumptions:

      1) There is over-employment in the country with the absolute advantage (i.e. the more develloped or “stronger” country). In other words: the “stronger” country cannot supply the demands by increasing the production.

      2) Production means can be and actually are arbitrarily moved between sectors within a country (but not between countries), such that even the production of goods with a long-term perspective of profitability are stopped in favor of other goods possibly more profitable.

These assumptions are rarely fulfilled so that the theory of the “comparative advantage” is rarely applicable even in the case of perfect “free trade” (whether there actually is free trade, as Hudson discusses in the interview, is yet another question).

  7. Krysztof on July 13, 2019  ·  at 3:52 pm EST/EDT

It is a pity that PCR only mentions off-shoring as a reason for the empirical observations he makes. Globalization as a means to enforce a race to the bottom is just one aspect of the neoliberal rollback that fully gained speed with Reagan and Thatcher. It included deliberate political decisions like tax cuts for the rich, disinvestment of public services, deregularization esp. of the finance sector, and (esp. in Euope) massive waves of privatization.

I live in Germany and am old enough to remember the days when the railway system was run by the state. Its aim was to provide public support and the trains were in time. Meanwhile it has been privatized and its aim is to “be profitable”, which its managment tries to achive by cutting staff and maintenance. They have not been that successful at generating profits so that the state still holds all shares, but what they achieved is that you can no longer be sure that a train comes or arrives at all. No off-shoring involved here.

The ideological justification for the privatization is that greed is the best motivation for providing a good service. What an amazing career of avarice from a capital sin in medieval times to a virtue in modern times! This career inspired me to a song culminating the biblical verse with the camel and the eye of a needle (warning: I have chosen to write a latin text in hexameters, and the music is even weirder, but the video has English subtitles):

The H-1B Visa program is another scam on our citizens here in our country, the USA. Yes, many from other countries are well trained and can do the job; however, we have numerous college grads in the very fields where these mega companies hire foreigners to come to this country and work who are overlooked. Many of these US college grads can’t find jobs in their fields because of this program.

I watched a neighbor with a PHD in chemistry accept a job in Canada–nothing open here in the states. She also had several offers from China. It is sickening! Especially so because of the debt created by the student loan. Is this because of the Soros influence to destroy our country? Who knows!!!
