The MSM print media do appear to be on life-support but people still seem truly loyal to their teevee and radio propagandists of choice. In the period from 1945-1991
in ex-Yugoslavia there was far stronger influence from so called the West than Russia.

Tito had far greater number of friends in the western capitals than Moscow.

Yugoslavia was broken due to the Anglo-Saxon machinations.

Serbs were the most influenced and powerful nation in ex-Yugoslavia. They had done very little or nothing for increasing friendship between Yugoslavia and Russia ( SSSR ).

it was due to material greed on the side of the Serbian ruling class.

Israel has built monument to Red Army, for Belgrade at that time, it would be anathema.

My name is Aleksandar Vjestica, I’m from Croatia. Before the civil war in Croatia and Yugoslavia I didn’t know I was a serb, after that I accepted to be a croat (because after 500 years of my ancestors living in croatian lands I couldn’ be “defined” as anything else just like algerian or senegali who got French citizenship), and now I’m free of these definitions because my country simply doesn’t exist anymore. The same might happen again to the country which evolved beyond simple “nationalities”.

Since the beginning of the troubles and war in Ukraine I’ve been following it and have a strong urge to do it every day – because it looks like the war in the Yugoslavia more than 20 years ago, for most of the points as far as I can tell, but not all.
While nobody can put the (international) politics aside, I believe the participants here understand some or most points of it, I will not waste your time with it in this comment.

Yes, the quislings still exist in Croatia – but they are a minority just like in Banderastan and they effectively rule the country. Yes there is a majority of normal people who try to live their lives and want nothing with the war and efficiently bury their heads into the sand. Also, there is a large number of individuals who understand what is going on but are too afraid to speak openly (after almost 20 years the war ended) fearful that it will interfere with their “normal” life.

And there is a minority that understand whats going on and talks about it in “appropriate” occasions. So I believe croatians just like ukrainians are afraid to speak of it. That means we live in the country of fear, where EU (“new” Germany – and US tries to control and suppress their ever growing influence…) dictate our moves and are openly announcing they will take control of our country insolvency/economics in 2016, which in turn they created with the help of our “useful” politicians. That effectively created new form of slavery in my country.
I see the same pattern in Ukraine.

But don’t compare nazi quislings (Ustashe, Chetnici, Cherkezi…) of the 2nd WW to these groups today – what is terrifying is that there are 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation who “knows” what happened only from the stories of their fathers and grandfathers – we can be manipulated into it believing to stand for “the good/right cause”. Most of our ancestors and parents were dragged into the war by the simple logic of “I have a big gun and you will come with me or die”. They didn’t have other means of information other than that guy with the gun.

And there is indeed a difference between freedom loving people and fear inducing fascists – the first give chance to everybody, again and again, to see there can be freedom for all while the second destroy anything that doesn’t go along with their views. I don’t want to “transform” into the latest.

My point is we would do it wrong if we do not evolve the methods of our ancestors. That’s why the fascism survived and still can be identified under that name. The self-defense forces should restrain from revenge while we should spread the information as much as possible, in all European languages if possible, on ukrainian sites/side, youtube…I urge portals in russian language to translate relentlessly.
Otherwise I feel freedom might be defeated even after 60 years…

This is unfortunately a far to common type of character to popup from the West in many a war. There is a circle of people who consider the opportunity to participate in a battle with no rules the ultimate sort of “sporting” hunt – “Kill or be killed”. There is a genre of literature on this as well, not just the Lord of the Flies type of book which in the absence of Christian morality essentially glorifies in the mind of impressionable boys the concept of hunting a fellow human being, but short stories explicitly based on the theme – a safari to hunt a fellow humans in a “park” setting. which used to be a common book on the curriculum in American High Schools, but there are many others, and it has been repeatedly glorified in Hollywood. The same desires were behind the creation and spread of the so-called game of Paintball, which is nothing other than simulated battle or human hunting and promotes the same sentiments of the “rush” of the “ultimate” hunt.

Back to Ukraine, unfortunately, this conflict is being used for this sort of War Tourism, something that has not really been possible for those so interested to take part in a relatively controlled and “safe” setting since the lawless 2003-2004 period in Iraq – the key here being the willingness of the agressive government to allow and back private armies (Blackwater and the like in Iraq and also the US Armed Forces in places like Fallujah, the Kolomoisky and Liashko battalions in Ukraine) in which the participant can fulfill his sick desires in a state supported structure.

I am not suggesting this is true or false.

It may very well be true, and I am inclined to believe it. But the title of this post is unnecessarily sensationalist: the eyewitness account is given as a fact in the title, a toddler is turned into a baby for more dramatic effect… really, there is no need to resort to this. Presenting it as what it is (i.e. the testimony of a sickening atrocity by an eyewitness) would be much more appropriate.

To one living in the United States this woman’s claim might seem to incredible to be true. Impossible to the American mind? Maybe. But my dear mother in law was a young girl in Lithuania during the WW2 years and what she witnessed is just as horrific, or more, as this woman’s claim. There is no doubt such things happen. This is no doubt the U.S. has sponsored groups carrying out such atrocities in the past. Latin America. So how and why are the claims of this woman so easily discarded.

Wake up Americans. Look at how your local police departments are now armed. You are next.

More to the point, if you or anyone else is able to prove there is no such place, then you will see quite clearly how honest people respond. Your allegations, otoh, do nothing whatever to establish any at all by Russia. What constitutes a witness that would satisfy the doubters?

She is either an “hysteric”, so shocked by what she has experienced that she “fabricated the story” and told it to the Russian TV people. This story-telling as part of her mental condition. She could have seen photos from Yugoslavia or WWII and then created her own testimony. It is a possibility.

Or, she is a great actress, planted by Kiev among the refugees to tell this fantasy so it could be discredited.

And what do we do to discredit her story?

She said it happened out in the open in the daytime among a group of other citizens.

So, is that hard or easy to discredit?

After all, we all see the evidence of crimes against humanity in Novorossiya on a daily basis. They are on YouTube, RT, LiveLeak and from multiple cameras. Are we hallucinating when we see the evidence and tell others of the horrors?

This morning I opened up a Show/Hide frame on Voiceseavas.ru to see a photo of some horror, and there was a slice of a human head, the nose, some teeth, some flesh. I had a hard time connecting that to reality of a human being who had been decapitated and blown up and sliced in such a way.

It seemed “unreal”, as if it were part of a rubber Halloween mask, not a human.

Yes, I can. First, most combatants evacuated with their families and her husband is in the resistance. Second, the Ukies do eventually let women and children go (the ones they don’t kill first, of course). And third, people sometimes make it on their own. But that is not strange.

What is strange is the systematic influx of comments each time I post something about human rights violations. I mean, of course and by definition any such report could be a fake, but is that a reason to doubt them all? What is wrong with you guys?!

Finally, I got an email from a private contact which confirmed to me that *this* story is true. I have asked for a written and signed statement from the source and if I get it, I will post it (not that this will stop some of you to doubt me, the text or the source).

Now about Bushell’s report: yes, he did get some images wrong. To a civilian like him and explosion looks like and explosion. He is not the only one: I have seen that (admittedly spectacular) bridge explosion shown in all sorts of setting which had nothing to do with it. But, guys, this is a REPORTER not an military analyst or a legal experts. You don’t like Bushell’s style – fine. I can understand that. But the *substance* of what he is showing is absolutely true.

Unless this is an organized campaign to systematically deny and minimize the numerous Ukrainian atrocities committed by the Nazi forces, I can only conclude that there is something in the mind of the western civilian who has not seen combat which results in a knee-jerk rejection and an instinctive minimization of such reports. Those who study warfare know better. For example, in Algeria there were several instances of babies (or tollers for the anally compulsive folks) who were crucified on the doors of homes (though, in true, the government blamed the GIA but a lot of sources suspected the GIA to be manipulated by the government to discredit the FIS). We also know that al-Qaeda (and its various local franchises) crucify people. So sorry for the delicate souls out there, but civil wars are all horrible, atrocities are the norm, and crucifixions are not beyond the norm of such events.

I ask you all to think carefully before dismissing or denigrating reports of atrocities and keep two things in mind: a) don’t let stupid details obfuscate the importance of the witness and b) accept that this is a normal consequence of wars and, civil wars.

The specific place is officially Central Square on Lenin Street. Googling Lenin Square Sloviansk (Площадь Ленина Славянск)seems to indicate it is colloquially named Lenin Square. Here is an example from the Summer of 2013 that uses that name in Russian.

I personally don’t need to see such atrocities to know the evil that is at work in Ukraine. War is a cruel business – even a war where combatants obeyed the Geneva Conventions would be a brutal affair. Also, I am certain that there is nothing in the way of torture, sadism, or depravity of any sort that has not been practiced many times over the past 5-6 thousand years by a great variety of peoples on their fellow humans.

To my mind the most cruel and depraved actions in this affair are those of the planners in Washington DC, Europe, or where ever else they sit and their willing partners in Kiev, far from the blood, mud, cries of the wounded, tears of those missing their loved ones, the terror and destruction of peoples lives, – sit and calculate their gains and losses before deciding who next to sacrifice to serve their ends. Choosing to exploit divisions in a society and human failings to tear it apart – there are not really words to describe such evil.

We can pray for some just and speedy resolution but history suggests such hopes be tempered.

Anon – as the Maidan coup and war in Ukraine were bought and paid for by Washington no I did not include the Kremlin. Perhaps you refer to Crimea as a ‘benefit’ desired by the Kremlin? Russia would have been happy to maintain the lease arrangement with a stable, trustworthy partner but I am sure they read the writing on the wall following the coup and realized that Washington’s friends in Kiev would soon renege on the lease as Yushenko tried to do before. With a population overwhelmingly in favor of separating themselves from those who seized power what happened was both logical and handled in a respectful manner.

I am sure the Kremlin is acutely aware and interested in what becomes of its neighbor under the tutelage of Washington and has reacted to the situation hoping to mitigate the potential negative consequences.

Do those in Washington care one whit for the Ukrainian people? Given their behavior I am sure they do not – they simply occupy a geostrategic resource. Does the Kremlin? Yes, assuredly.

Everyone mist understand that the US is not a moral or ethical nation, it is a decaying and degenerate empire. An empire of evil, warmongering, torture and violence. If you acknowledge that you will be immune to the lies and propaganda that is constantly spewed by Western based media.

This is very disturbing. Crucifixion seems to be occurring in a number of countries in which the US has been involved. As far as I know there is little or no MSM reporting of it. Could it be part of their escalating war on Christianity?
