I have a pre-made sentence that I have just copy and pasted in my SITREPs: NATO-occupied Ukraine violated the ceasefire … times last night by shelling Donetsk. Interpretations of the word “ceasefire” differ. NATO and Ukro-Nazis understand “ceasefire” as “we fire, you cease.” Whereas, DPR, LPR, Russia and the rest of humanity understand the term “ceasefire” as no fire whatsoever. That’s why efforts to formalize the concept are completely doomed to failure.

The word on the Russian financial street is that Kiev’s ongoing military offenses are pressured by the fast approaching May 31 deadline for Ukraine’s payments on $15.3 billion in sovereign bond debt, and in the end of June a conditioned payments by the IMF to Ukraine of $1.5 billion, the second installment of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). The IMF will only pay the second installment, if Ukraine won’t default on the sovereign bond debt. [Source]

Kiev imagines that a war in May and June would take care of this conditional nonsense, because who could resist Poroshenko’s pleading eyes and wouldn’t put a billion or two into his trembling begging hand whispering, “Those damn Muscovites!”

The duplicity of this situation is that Ukraine is threatening Russia with demands to restructure (to forgive) $3 billion sovereign bond debt, or else it will attack Donbass. Not that they won’t attack it after said restructuring would take place.

The new American owners of Ukraine find a deflation of Ukraine’s sovereign debt to Russia perfectly acceptable, unlike the deflation of NFL footballs, which everyone sees as deplorable.

In April, Bloomberg suggested that Russia wants “direct negotiations.” [Source]

Russians said thanks, but no, thanks. Russia wants its money back, to counterbalance the Western sanctions.

In April Ukraine singlehandedly decided to restructure (not to pay) its debt to Russia [Source]

If the West (bankers) accepts compulsive restructuring of sovereign Ukrainian debt by Ukraine , nothing will prevent them from supporting symmetric actions coming from Greece, Argentina, Japan, Russia, Portugal, China, and everyone else, including the USA. It will lead to a collapse of the global financial system. Which is not necessarily bad, come to think of it.

During the April 17, 2015 session of the Fund’s Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), there was no mention at all of Ukraine. Lagarde said to the press: “Russia is clearly an important partner of the IMF and one with which we are working steadily and which we very much count upon to ensure certainty, stability in the region.” She ignored Ukraine.

Today, the new Russia’s envoy in Ukraine Azamat Kulmukhametov, who previously held a cushy position as an Ambassador of Russia in Syria and negotiated the chemical disarmament and the diffusion of the global war in the Middle East, reported that Minsk Group Makes ‘Breakthrough’ on Ukraine Reconciliation Talks [Source]

Let’s see how it goes, as my relative used to say cutting a tree on the backyard, while standing directly under it.

When Russia was a socialist country, the West was decisively capitalist. The moment Russia took more capitalistic approach, the West started introducing socialists reforms.

It’s like the West suffers from oppositional defiant disorder towards Russia.

Being the first amongst equal, the US reformed its justice system first. Civil Justice turned against Plaintiffs. A consumer hurt by a large corporation always loses. Criminal justice turned against Defendants. The Prosecution always wins. Contract law has collapsed. Tort law and criminal law followed in suit. So has freedom of information and public access: all are facilities fundamental to democracy.

Even the basic constitutional three-branch structure is falling apart as the executive branch rises in the unitary theory to keep the legislative branch out of war and killing decisions. While the legislative creates super committees to make private decisions that should be tested in public debates.
The U.S. legal collapse is a symptom. Collapse of democracy and corruption is a disease.

As an illustration, here is a tale of two cities: Vienna, Austria and New York, you know where.

Austrian Judge Bauer rejected extradition, ruling there had been improper political interference by the US Government in the Firtash case. This is a violation, according to Bauer’s judgment, of Article 4, section 3 of the US-Austria Extradition Treaty of 1998. “Extradition shall not be granted,” the proviso declares, “if the executive authority of the Requested State determines that the request was politically motivated.” Read the treaty in full here. [Source]

According to our own Uncle Bob, Firtash got caught in a Titanium war between the US and Russia. As a side note those Titanium deposits, like much of the mineral wealth in the former Ukraine is in Novorossia. [Source]

Without going into the Firtash’s case details, I just want to stress here an unprecedented independence of justice from the U.S. shown by a small landlocked European country with no known formidable mineral wealth, and whose main weapon so far has been La Belle Époque designs mirroring those of Midwest brothels during Billy the Kid’s lifespan.

Indubitably, Austria has to be punished for its independence most likely by an ISIS attack on the Vienna Opera House.

There is a hope, though, that the Senate Foreign Committee, which dispenses the killings, misreads the situation and decides that it is Vienna, Australia that misbehaved and will rule out the attack on the Oprah’s house, because she still bears significant weight with the Obama’s administration.

Michael Lewis: Did Goldman Sachs Overstep in Criminally Charging Its Ex-Programmer? [Source]

The US court convicted a talented programmer from Saint Petersburg in stealing the software algorithm code that he himself wrote and developed. All this is done in order for Goldman Sachs to appropriate Aleynikov’s intellectual property and avoid paying the copyright royalty to the author, and to prevent him from working anywhere else.

It’s all started in 2010, a month after ace programmer Sergey Aleynikov left Goldman Sachs, he was arrested. Loyal to his sentiment that “every American could benefit from some time in jail”, Sergey has been in and out of jail for the past 5 years.

To understand the situation, keep in mind that Aleynikov is the author of the trading algorithm that Goldman Sachs uses. The irony is that no one before could invent such a simple and infinitely complex algorithm for the High Frequency Trading like Sergey has done. Only an engineer with the good old Soviet school mathematical training has enough brain power to accomplish this. Only 1-2% of all programmers at any given time are cable of inventing new algorithms and languages.

You don’t see the EU screaming like banshees demanding the release of an honest, talented, good man, like they do about the Ukrainian Nazi female pilot, a murderess of two Russian journalists. You don’t see Israel demanding an extradition to Israel of Sergey Aleynikov, who is Jewish. No, of course not.

For years now I am following this harrowing, vicious, unstoppable, baseless attacks of the Wall Street on this genius engineer.

Sergey’s story should serve as a caveat emptor for all those young, talented engineers from Russia, China, India and elsewhere who dream of coming to the U.S. to work here and to make it rich. It’s sooo 90s. In 21st century the only ones who gets rich are your American masters. They will use you, and abuse you, and nothing else.

Let Sergey’s story to become your warning.

Minsk – Victory or Treason? Зрада чи Перемога? [Source]

Зрада чи Перемога? Zrada or Peremoga? A tug-of-war between Zrada (treason) and Peremoga (Victory) is the keystone principle of the Ukrainian national psyche. A truly philosophical question for every true pureblooded Ukrainian. To hold loud national debates in Rada (Parliament) and elsewhere in order to distinguish between multiple Zradas and Peremogas is a favorite national pastime, akin only to hitting one’s neighbor over the head with a two-by-four. Often misconstrued as an act of violence (Zrada), it’s simply an attempt to achieve victory with the use of alternative means (Peremoga).

The balancing act between Zrada and Peremoga makes being a true Ukrainian not as straightforward and easy as one imagines. Something might look like a victory (Peremoga) on the outside, but in fact is a hidden stinking Zrada (Treason). Please, understand that a true Ukrainian cannot be defeated. A true Ukrainian can never make a mistake. The word defeat doesn’t even exist in the Ukrainian language. A true Ukrainian either achieves a victory, or becomes a victim of treason.

For example: Ukraine is an independent country. This is an obvious Peremoga. However, Russia doesn’t want to give free money to bring Ukraine into the European levels. That’s a Zrada. When Western Ukrainians started killing the Eastern Ukrainians it was a Peremoga. However, this Peremoga quickly turned into Zrada the moment the Eastern Ukrainians beat the crap out of the Western Ukrainians.

NB: The majority of the Eastern Ukrainians are Russians who speak Russian language, blame themselves for failures, and don’t buy into Zrada vs. Peremoga mindset.

The politics in Ukraine is a balancing act on the very edge of Occam’s razor, since only one letter Z separates Rada (Parlament) from Zrada (treason).
Like yin and yang, Peremoga and Zrada are indistinguishable. Yesterdays joyful victory might today turn into the most poisonous Zrada.

Hangovers have nothing to do with it.

Petro Mohyla (Mogila, grave) is not immediately recognized in Orthodox hagiography, maybe because he was never canonized. And by “canonized” I don’t mean shot out of a cannon.

However, in folk memory he takes a certain place believed to be filled with sacred powers. There is at least one spell that women use once a year to call Petro Mogila from his cold grave to grab hold of a potential male suitor and to make him incapable of resisting the doom of marriage.

While the European Union urges Ukraine to fight corruption, some of its member states – such as Latvia, Cyprus (still the largest “foreign investor” into Ukraine), the UK, Austria, France, Monaco and Switzerland, along with Caribbean offshore zones such as the Virgin Islands – continue to enjoy the fruits of corrupt proceeds that are laundered abroad.”

The former Warsaw pact countries won their ‘freedom’ in the early 1990s and promptly switched one master for another. Freedom is Slavery.
Recently military vehicles belonging to the US Army’s Second Cavalry Regiment paraded through the Estonian town of Narva, across a river and only three hundred metres away from the Russia border, as reported by the Washington Post. NATO do not consider this to be a bellicose, or at least a very unwise, act which could easily racket up tensions between The West and Eurasia. War is Peace.

It is sad fact that for the first time since 1945, militants who admire Nazi collaborators and take inspiration from the ideology of the Third Reich are goose-stepping through a European capital. Ignorance is Strength.

Careful with this one. They use a picture of a nude Ukro Nazi to prove that a yellow narrow belt is not a good fashion accessory for a small male reproductive organ.

Last, but Not Least

This one is for our reader and contributor Blue, who sees Putin everywhere.

President Putin plays piano and sings children’s song
Our Motherland begins with small things like good loyal friends, pictures in textbooks, and with mom’s lullaby, that evolve as we grow to become our Motherland. Our Motherland begins with things that cannot be taken from us during trials and tribulations. Our Motherland starts with a birch in a field, and a spring song of a starling, and maybe with the road across the fields that goes and disappears on the horizon. Or maybe our Motherland starts with an old father’s military helmet, that we had found in a closet, and the oath that we gave her in our youth? Where does our Motherland begin?
