Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says it has held two US naval boats after they entered the country’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.
The IRGC says the American vessels were stopped near Iran’s Farsi island in the Persian Gulf and were transferred to the island. It says the sailors are in good health and are being kept at a suitable place.
The Pentagon says Washington has received assurances from officials in Tehran that the vessels and the sailors will be released soon. The White House also expressed optimism and said it was working to resolve the situation and get the personnel returned. US officials also said Secretary of State John Kerry called his Iranian counterpart Mohammed Javad Zarif over the incident

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says the ten American sailors, apprehended after entering the Iranian territorial waters on two combat vessels, are likely to be released soon.
Commander of the IRGC’s Navy Brigadier General Ali Fadawi said the vessels entered Iran’s waters because their navigation systems had broken down. He further said after the ten sailors were arrested and their vessels seized, a U-S aircraft carrier got engaged in some aerial and marine movements, which were neutralized by IRGC’s prompt action. Fadawi added that the American sailors acted unprofessionally after the arrest. The commander further quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying that the US should apologize for the vessels’ encroachment upon Iran’s territorial waters.

Happened on Jan. 10 in the Ukrainian city of Uman which happens to be an important Hasidic pilgrimage site. A member of neo-nazi Svoboda party, city councillor Sergey Alekseev (in a white-top winter jacket) became abusive towards a group of Hasidic Jews, which prompted an Ethiopian member of the group to pull out a knife [0:56s] on him in self-defence. The police were called to scene, but refused to lay any charge

If this battle ever takes place it will be called the Greatest Zrada (Treason) by the Harvard trained historians.
What should Russians do? To aid both sides of this conflict. The more they fight, the faster we will get peace.
I can’t help but to recall these few immortal lines:
Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle;
For Tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.
Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heroes so,
They quite forgot their quarrel

big China foreign trip here:
http://sputniknews.com/politics/20160114/1033106585/china-arab-policy-paper.html
The Chinese government has published its first Arab Policy Paper, which calls for greater political, economic and security cooperation with the region that is Beijing’s main supplier of petroleum and seventh largest trading partner.
The document, released ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s first visit to Egypt, paints cooperation in broad strokes: neither does it provide detailed policy initiatives nor name specific Arab countries.
China 2011 pie chart oil imports by M.E. country & others:

Very interesting chart. Of all those countries listed, there are only three on there where the oil imports are safe for China (Russia ,Iran, and Kazakhstan). All the other supplies could be stopped by the US “in a heartbeat” any time they decide they want to. I can’t understand China’s thinking what so ever. They act like they live in some dreamworld. You would think that China would be importing as much oil as possible from those three countries. Financing everything they could to assure a safe continuing shipment of oil to their country. But instead they act like “oh we can trust the West. They’d never cut of our supplies.”. While the ghost of 1941’s Japan is laughing at them from the sidelines and saying “Oh yeah,we thought that too.Until the day they did just that !”.
The US sailors were on a spy mission most likely to die to stop removal of Iranian sanctions today.
None of their explanations hold water, including the spying.. Iran releases like 4 Americans and the US releases 7 Iranians and stop prosecution of 14 others.
Nato is desperate.. Large scale IS attacks in DeirEzzor the only SAA held area in the middle of the desert. Russia is dropping aid as it has become critical, 250,000 civilians are also trapped. So SOME nato assets still around to shape the battlefield.
Big artillery showing between IS and Turkey..
SDF says IS is a spent force. Tactics and strategy is lacking cohesion and stamina. Mostly likely with pulling out of nato assets leave IS rather short of field commanders who are capable. Turkish actions seems to indicate eradication of IS grunts and letting moderate criminals take over the area for negotiations. IS is also running away from organized offensives rather than staying and fighting to the death.
Don’t you love the smell of surety in the morning?
Security Council: Russia’s new security strategy to be binding, not declaratory
The above item “4. Putin throws light on the ‘German Question’”, http://blogs.rediff.com/mkbhadrakumar/2016/01/12/putin-throws-light-on-the-german-question/ , is one truly excellent analysis written by Ambassador M. K. Bhadrakumar!
The U.S. pushed for the eastward expansion of NATO with the objective to preclude a development of close German-Russian relations:
“… one of the many considerations in the US decision to push for NATO expansion … would have been the need to somehow anchor Germany firmly within the western alliance system in the post-Cold War setting. The US occupation of Germany continues even today under the NATO banner. [my emphasis] And the US continues to prescribe the alchemy of Germany’s relations with Russia. …”
The U.S. engineered Kiev coup, triggering a whole chain of events, and
“… The result is plain to see: US has virtually thrown into disarray the flourishing Russian-German relationship. Trade between Germany and Russia dropped from $80 billion to $40 billion. …”
All that is true. But by just “hoping” to get Germany to wake up to that and do something to stop it is a failing strategy. The German regime and elite are too much under the control of the West. It isn’t that Germany doesn’t know what the West is doing and needs to “wake up”. They aren’t asleep, they see it. The problem is that the German “leadership” accepts and agree’s with the West’s policy. Certainly, they hope for better trade relations with Russia. But they hope to gain those better relations from Russia changing and falling to Western control. Not from them themselves changing and agreeing with Russia. And that is the problem. The Russian power structure I don’t believe see’s that yet. They operate under the flawed thinking that the German leaders will work for what is good for Germany in the end. And that frankly isn’t true now,if it ever was true. They personally have too much to gain for themselves by siding with the US. While for them personally, there is nothing to gain by changing and becoming more pro-Russian. And for them much to lose that way.So we are stuck with Russia constantly pleading with Germany to change. And Germany constantly saying no.The one needing the wake up call is Russia not Germany. They are wide away and working against Russia.
@ Uncle Bob 1
Right. Let one only look at these days’ formula “German know-how and Russian raw materials”. To “raw materials” just add “territory” … and voilà, you get “Lebensraum” (etc.). History, distant and recent, speaks for itself. German despicable involvement in quartering of Yugoslavia throughout the 1990s, for instance, was done not under the U.S. pressure, but quite joyfully voluntarily, under the slogan “Germany is again asserting itself”. In fact, that was started under Helmut Kohl, that Bhadrakumar’s angel so affectionately mentioned in his piece. And poor Putin even “rightly asks why Kohl didn’t resist” the U.S. push for NATO’s expansion (oh, give me a break…). Vladimir Vladimirovich, let me explain…
Concerning the gain by siding with the U.S.. Quite simple. The entire German post-WWII economic “miracle” was based on not having to spend any national resources on armaments, relying fully on the U.S. military “umbrella”, a cozy symbiotic relationship (similar to that U.S.-Japan thing). “If it works, don’t fix it.”
And of course, personal gains (:-$) of the members of German power establishment for not disturbing the arrangement are even more instrumental. A gigantic amount of “that” must be taking place in Uncle Sam’s “international diplomacy”.
Agreed about the terms of co-operation as wanted by the German ruling class in relation between Germany and Russia.
This hit home with me recently when seeing Battalion recently on a flight. A sad film paying homage to the first female Battalion created by Russia towards the close of WW1.
Same as it ever was.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4187590/
I don’t believe the average German would want such policies but like the rest of the majority in the “free and democratic” west, the choices politically are not there. All but a dog and pony show to sooth the public whilst the same corrupt policies and fraud continue.
Just as a reminder : when Yugoslavia was attacked in 1999 the “Kanzler” of Germany was Gerhard Schroeder who became a good friend with Putin. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union,Germany (west) had an Army of 600.000.The “miracle” was not a miracle,it was simply the way the german people has worked hardly on rebuilding their country from scratch. It is sad not to recognise the willingness of the germans in reconstructing they’re homeland.

That was a great interview with Janus Putkonen. Its a shame he wouldn’t be interviewed like that in the West. And people see the truth.
I like the world map for this Ukraine SITREP better than the ones that show the colors of that by now unpleasant flag with its repulsive trident…
But there is one major defect in this world map with Ukraine in it: If you look, you can see it shows Crimea as a part of it. This should be corrected urgently.
Sad to read about Boatswain. (
Ukraines reputation is in the gutter. Its not a nation, maybe never was.
http://sputniknews.com/politics/20160117/1033265724/clinton-new-iran-sanctions.html
Shortly after the US president signed an order lifting anti-Iran sanctions, the leading Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stepped up with the idea of imposing a new portion of sanctions on Tehran.
European Union, US Lift Nuclear Program-Related Sanctions Against Iran
Clinton called for new sanctions against the Islamic Republic in a statement on the nuclear agreement published Saturday.
The old war pig just can’t give it a rest:
http://www.freakingnews.com/pictures/34500/Hillary-Clinton-Pig–34510.jpg#Hillary%20Clinton%20funny
If one looks carefully, one sees that the major advent of “neocons” – the despicable Zionist fifth column in the U.S. – “coincided” with Hillary Clinton’s husband Bill becoming the president in 1993. They are now extremely unhappy with the Iran deal – so it does not surprise at all that she is beating this drum. Bad times may lie ahead … only how bad we don’t know yet…
They were always there. They just gained a bit more power under the Clinton’s. But they were plenty powerful from Johnson’s time on up.
I saw that. I’m waiting to see the response of the Iranian leadership to that. They’ve warned for months that Iranians shouldn’t trust the US. And now this shows that there is no way for Iran to be friends with a country, where a election of another person would overturn all the work diplomats put in. This should clearly show those watching (Russia and China wake-up) that agreements with the US aren’t worth the paper they are printed on. And its better to not waste time on them. Just do what you need to do for your own country’s interests. And prepare to fight anyone that tries to stop you. Thousands of years of history show that is the only correct way to act.Times change, but criminals actions stay the same. Don’t expect the “evil doers” to change, you’ll only be disappointed when you do.
And hope that Russia will not cancel the “S-300 deal” once again, so as not to “offend” its (new) “partners”…
Hi Baaz, I’m a bit late in my thank yous…but thank you anyways…that was very interesting about the Jew pulling a knife…great !! And that the cops refused to lay charges…great !!
Thanks Ann,
shall try to make SITREPs more interesting in coming weeks
Kind Regards,

Just saw the pictures of the U.S. Naval Personnel that were held by Iran. Having lived in Norfolk, Virginia all my life, the largest Naval complex in the world, I can see these men are not regular sailors. They are Special Forces. If you know anything about American sailors, they generally look like crap. The guys in the pictures are not regular sailors. Since they are Special Forces, and they obviously are, I do not believe the story that they got lost. These guys do not get lost, but they might use that as a cover story…..by the way, you Russkies are as lost as we Americans, and I hope you open your eyes. We are supporting one brand of Islam, and you are supporting the other. As St. Paul said, if we bite and devour each other, we will all be consumed. What we need to do is get together, Russia and the West and oppose these… three words have been deleted for being racist. My other option would be to trash the whole comment. (KL)
Thanks.
All the US military personal I knew looked like those on the boat. They do act differently than regular people. Those on the boat may have been special forces but all the ones I met were highly educated people. Like all pilots have degrees and such. To achieve that you need to be older. I am sure there are hill bellies but I think you are only talking about the vast number of 18 year olds who join to make some money and get out of their villages. Those who stay for a while are quite capable. It is when you start to get into the higher ranks that those who are good at ass licking stand out, the others wont be put in a position in charge of anything..
and I do believe these men were sent to be killed. They probably knew that, which is why they put their hands up when they saw the Iranians. It is easy to figure out you are the goat.. Just get an impossible mission that you know is beyond your capability..
