What can explain these recent instances, proven by Agence France-Press, in which outright frauds — lies (in the form of faked photos and videos) — are being spread online to support the agenda of breaking off, from China, Hong Kong (which has historically always a part of China), so as to make Hong Kong an ‘independent’ nation?:

The context might explain it:
On August 14th, Toronto lawyer Christopher Black, who is an expert on U.S.-UK Deep State efforts to grab back Hong Kong for the British Empire, headlined at Global Research “America’s ‘Hybrid War’ against China has Entered a New Phase”, and he described a six-phase “hybrid war” by the U.S.-UK Deep State against China in Hong Kong:
The first stage involved the massive shift of US air and naval forces to the Pacific. …
The second stage was the creation of disinformation about China’s treatment of minority groups, especially in Tibet and west China. …
[The third stage is] the propaganda was extended to China’s economic development, its international trade, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, its Silk and Belt Road Initiative, its development bank, and other facilities and trade initiatives, through which China is accused of trying to control the world. …
The fourth phase is the US attempt to degrade the Chinese economy with punitive “tariffs,” …
A fifth phase [is] the kidnapping and illegal detention of Meng Wanzhou, the Chief Financial Officer of China’s leading technology company Huawei, …
[The sixth phase] in this hybrid warfare is the insurrection being provoked by the US, UK, Canada and the rest in Hong Kong, …
Also on August 14th, the anonymous “Moon of Alabama” blogger (a German intelligence-analyst), headlined “Violent Protests In Hong Kong Reach Their Last Stage”, and he opened:
The riots in Hong Kong are about to end.
The protests, as originally started in June, were against a law that would have allowed criminal extraditions to Taiwan, Macao and mainland China. The law was retracted and the large protests have since died down. What is left are a few thousand students who, as advertised in a New York Times op-ed, intentionally seek to provoke the police with “marginal violence”:
“Such actions are a way to make noise and gain attention. And if they prompt the police to respond with unnecessary force, as happened on June 12, then the public will feel disapproval and disgust for the authorities. The protesters should thoughtfully escalate nonviolence, maybe even resort to mild force, to push the government to the edge. That was the goal of many people who surrounded and barricaded police headquarters for hours on June 21.”
The protesters now use the same violent methods that were used in the Maidan protests in the Ukraine. The U.S. seems to hope that China will intervene and create a second Tianamen scene. That U.S. color revolution attempt failed but was an excellent instrument to demonize China. A repeat in Hong Kong would allow to declare a “clash of civilization” and increase ‘western’ hostility against China. But while China is prepared to intervene it is unlikely to do the U.S. that favor. Its government expressed its confidence that the local authorities will be able to handle the issue.
There are rumors that some Hong Kong oligarchs were originally behind the protests to prevent their extradition for shady deals they made in China. There may be some truth to that. China’s president Xi Jingpin is waging a fierce campaign against corruption and Hong Kong is a target-rich environment for fighting that crime.
The former British colony is ruled by a handful of oligarchs who have monopolies in the housing, electricity, trade and transport markets: …
Then there was this from him, after the Sunday, August 18th, demonstration:

Which Hong Kong Protest Size Estimate is Right?
The New York Times further promotes the protests in Hong Kong by quoting an extravagant crowd size estimate of yesterday’s march.
… So what is it? 128,000 or the 13 times bigger 1.7 million? With the mood set in the first paragraphs the Times is clearly promoting the larger estimate.
But that estimate is definitely false. (As was my own early estimate of 15-20,000 based on early pictures of the event.) It is impossible that 1.7 million people took part in the gathering and march. There is no way that the 1.7 million people would physically fit in or near the protest venue.
——
He demonstrated there, beyond question, that the NYT’s allegation that the crowd was 1,700,000 was at least 13 times too large.
Consequently, since all of those matters are documented facts — not mere conjectures — the rational conclusion would be that the same Deep State that overthrew Iran’s democracy in 1954, and that overthrew Guatemala’s democracy in 1954, and that overthrew Chile’s democracy in 1973, and that overthrew Ukraine’s democracy in 2014, and that installed brutal military regimes in each one of those places, and that also in many other instances has installed dictatorial U.S.-controlled vassal-states, and that has been trying to do similar things to Libya, and to Syria, and to Venezuela, and to Russia (“color revolutions” they are called) is trying to do that also in Hong Kong. And, as has always been the case in the past, the U.S.-and-allied Deep State regime’s propaganda is that this is being done for ‘human rights’ and ‘democracy’. This would explain those hoaxes that AFP has been documenting against Hong Kong’s government.
The lying continues on, at all U.S. mainstream (and most of its non-mainstream) ‘news’-media, such as:

Twitter And Facebook Shut Down Fake Propaganda Accounts Run By Chinese Government
August 20, 20194:23 PM ET
Heard on All Things Considered
NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly speaks with Adam Segal, at the Council on Foreign Relations, about Facebook and Twitter shutting down hundreds of fake accounts run by the Chinese government.
MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST:
We have heard a lot about Russia creating fake social media accounts to influence political discourse in other countries. Now Facebook and Twitter say they have shut down hundreds of fake accounts created and run by the Chinese government. These pages are mainly spreading messages against the Hong Kong protests.
Adam Segal is the director of digital and cyberspace policy at the Council on Foreign Relations. He has studied China’s use of disinformation, and he joins us now. Hi, there.
ADAM SEGAL: Thanks for having me.
KELLY: So help us understand what exactly China stands accused of doing. Give me an example of one of these fake accounts and what it’s been tweeting or posting.
SEGAL: Twitter and Facebook have said that the Chinese have created fake accounts or inauthentic accounts and that they’ve spread disinformation about the protests in Hong Kong. Some of the accounts have compared the protesters to cockroaches or to ISIS and have suggested that they’ve taken money from either foreigners or what one of the accounts called bad guys.
KELLY: What is the scope of this operation, as far as we can tell? …

The amazing thing is that America’s leading ‘reporters’ of ‘news’ continue on with their lying even after it has been conclusively exposed in honest foreign, and in the honest non-mainstream, news-sites online (such as here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here — all 25 of those are great news-sites, reliable news-sites, news-sites that are punctilious about truth, and careful to avoid lies). America’s leading ‘reporters’ just ignore truth, and they continue to pump the regime’s lies, as stenographers for its lies, trusting and never challenging such ‘authorities’ as the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Brookings Institution, and the U.S. Government, and the New York Times, and the Washington Post, and U.S. TV and radio, etc. — all of the same fraudsters who were pumping for the invasion of Iraq, up to and including the U.S. regime’s criminal invasion in 2003. This country hasn’t learned a thing, except lies, since at least 2003. There seems to be an endless market for lies, in the U.S.

The biggest American lie of all is that the ungrounded ego mind and its illusions must be held to be the dominant cosmic truth. In defiance of all true spiritual reality. The established American ego is a prisoner of the fear engendered by the mythic figure Faust. “I turned against the living spirit and am now committed to my denial of that spirit.” The American Satan must impose this denial on all of human creation in order to feel safe and secure. I keep being reminded of a very revealing statement made by the American philosopher Ken Wilber. He said “the American declaration of independence is a declaration of independence in more senses than one.” Taking his comment in context his meaning is clear. The American ego declares its independence from God. The American ego is superior to God. This is the supreme American lie and it the father of all of the other lies. We demand the right to maintain our ” freedom” from divine reality. Hey, Satan has to be given its due, as it is really a cosmic movement. Thank you Eric for your determination to show us all of this with such consistent dedication.
I was struck while watching a TV series about serial killers in the USA, such a perennial favourite of American ‘culture’, by the predominance of this phenomenon in the USA. I have no idea if any other country has the frequency and number of ‘sequence killers’, as they were once called, of the USA, but I doubt it. And, as with various individuals, so too with the USA state, the serial killer of nations. Undoubtedly the assassin of humanity, one way or another.
If you give satan his due, he will take everything you have.
That would be giving Satan more than his due. According to the Hermetic interpretation (Jungian) of Christianity Satan is actually a hidden aspect of God that dialectically impels the human into a deeper search for and encounter with the creative and responsive aspect of the living God. To give Satan his due is to honor him for impelling you into a deeper relation with God. Now tell me how that is not the salvation formula for the American nation. I think of it as a dance of night and day. Another way of holding it is the pathway to heaven requires a journey through hell (purification). America is on a journey through hell. The point being “through”. It is not the end state.
Punchline to long Russian joke:
When the devil swallows you there’s only one way out
You can see that in the genius of Giotto’s Scrivegni Chapel in Padova. The bad guys being shat out make me hope for an eternal alimentary punishment for many, many, many thousands of human monsters who dominate the Western power elites.
The very great problem is that the USA is forcing the rest of humanity to travel through Hell, generation after generation. And what lies just ahead, closer and closer by the day, is not Paradise, but the even greater Hell of universal destruction and death, that of either thermo-nuclear and biological warfare, or of the ecological Holocaust, or both. And the devils that drive the USA onwards, and their Life-hating and impish servants in Brazil, Honduras, Austfailia etc, actually want this howling wilderness to come into existence, in the eschatological End Times of their perverted and diabolical ‘religions’.
Mulga; I certainly agree with your highly poetic and incisive analysis of the negative and destructive aspects of the current religious and political mafia empire. You do us all proud with the breadth and depth of your analysis of the “problem.” The difficulty is that the problem, as you so well define it, seemingly commands practically all that is visible to the observing human mind. This itself is a product of bourgeois propaganda imperatives that are long and deeply established. What we are conditioned to interpret as newsworthy has for a long time been profoundly subject to imperialist cultural control. It is such a built in habit in our culture that we don’t think to question, it or know how to see outside it. I suspect you will acknowledge this. However I remain far from convinced that what we can see with our human “eyes” is the entirety of all that is happening. I feel a need to account for what we call the evolutionary process to manifest some form of agency that addresses and brings balance to this wicked drama. I am sure you are aware that psychologists and others frequently refer to a response from what is now called the collective unconscious. It is all too easy to leave that dimension out of our political analysis. In fact very difficult, culturally speaking, for us to even know how to include it. However logically, just because we cannot see a thing that does not prove its absence. That being the place where I like to feel I can see a response arising. It is only my belief in the capacity of this dimension of human and planetary reality to make a critical difference in this global drama that keeps me from joining the chorus of despair. So I hope that you remain open-minded as much as possible to subtle suggestions of positive expectations on my part.
Sigh. Americans just do not get it especially the so-called “educated” ones. For Example, in the most recent issue of The Atlantic, a translation of The Book of Job was reviewed by a lame brained SJW ( probably English major because he wrote well but not deeply) who managed to get in a double dig to the Old Testament deity and Trump by conflating the two!!! It was typical de rigueur name calling without substance which passes as profundity these days but it probably got him straight A’s from his ideologue professors.
The metaphor of The Book of Job is so key to works of art , literature ( including Anna Karenina by the way) and philosophy. That key line…..” I repent of dust and ashes.”…. yes, ancient Hebrew has a small vocabulary, no clear vowels and contains words having multiple meanings depending on context.
So, an alternate translation into English which renders those key words as ” I pity this dust and ashes” has Job in a state of compassionate contemplation of the human condition as a whole and not just his own suffering. This young writer took on an analysis of One of the greatest writings of Western spirituality comparable to the Bagavad Gita and he, in his philistine smugness, lacked the capacity of thought to deliver anything more than a well written hack job!!! Yes, Job “got it” no matter how translated; however, very clearly the young lamebrain writing about did not– Maybe some day with wisdom and grace of humility he will, though.
This is only one reason why I fear for my country, however.
The two big issues which are “off the table” in discussions are 1. the trillion dollar taxpayer subsidy of the gluttonous military industrial complex which makes every other program impossible to fund effectively.
2, issues of class, and history of class struggle ( people who should know better speak about FDR’s New Deal as if there were no militant labor union movement organized in the back-ground). Providing Basic income is a hand out and not a power share because it can come with conditions and can be taken away by those giving it.
Wikipedia and the Machines are rewriting our common history while waiting for the elders to make haste and die. It is like painting out Judas from the Last Supper. It is monstrous . It is inhuman. It is a ruling class which deprives Venezuela of the means to buy food for its people and then blames it as it halts their grain shipments at the Panama canal. It is the banality of evil. It is the Gulag of the Human Mind.

I definitely believe in the collective unconscious, Sheldrake’s ‘morphic resonance’ and the widely recognised noosphere. I tend, also, to have great sympathy for the theory of panpsychism, where ‘mind’ or ‘consciousness’ is present throughout the natural world, including ‘non-living’ forms like geological features, and probably throughout the cosmos as well. After all, at the singularity that gave birth to our universe, all matter was compressed into an infinitely small space, and no further matter or energy has been created since. So, if that theory be true, then we are all connected to every other piece of matter in our universe, even if the linkages are now much attenuated. As Leonardo allegedly said or wrote in one of his notebooks, ‘Everything is connected to everything else’. I rather think that is why the ecological collapse is happening so very rapidly-as each tiny ecological niche collapses, it pulls down ALL the others, incrementally, and when these assaults and insults reach a critical mass, as in the Amazon today, the collapse accelerates like an avalanche.
Both your above comments, in your own inimitable way, nail it. Its pretty irrelevant, but I wonder sometimes with the Blair’s, Howard’s, Bolton’s, Pompeo’s of this world, how truly screwed up were their childhood’s to produce such…. creatures, such psychopaths.
Hannah Arendt and the Nuremberg tribunals would’ve had a field day with them.
Such immense suffering and misery and death caused by so few.
‘There’s none so queer as folks’, Gezzah.
Mulga: As in Obama style ‘folks’? Said with a happy smiley face…. I need to label my replies so people know I’m replying. Some of yours are worthy of an article in themselves! The media, the media, liars and propagandists for such wickedness. All for the consumption of the bourgeois chattering classes. And the gullible.
You give WAY too much credit. The underlying causes are as simple as inertia, idiocy, and a general inability to think outside of ones comfort zone. This is as much a cultural phenomenon as an individual one.
I can’t take blahblah about cosmic truth and ridiculous religious fairytales etc. serious, if people in every corner of this earth simply fail to use their brains and apply common sense.
Common sense dictates that action-reaction and every distortion of the initial natural harmony is followed by consequences, in 99,9% of the cases negative for the wellbeing of living organisms.
Life is such aprecarious and filigrane product of time and force, that common sense dictates we should act we the same care and precaution. Yea, right, look around you.
China, like Russia, Iran, Venezuela, is increasingly in the crosshairs of the Anglo-Zionist Empire.
Demonstrations organised by Washington,in Hong Kong, Moscow, Caracas and in smaller effect in Tehran, will continue, no doubt.
Signs of desperation? You bet. The empire has lost touch with reality, in order to avoid its collapse which is inevitable, but cannot come soon enough. Chewing more than what can be swallowed is a new norm in Washington.
Perfect time to do exactly the same within the Empire, and dismantle this monster ASAP, before is too late for all of us. Why always wait for next punch, when precise counter attack can land a knockout punch.
Support and help the current division in US in any possible way. Support both sides. Conservatives and their opponents. Help them bite each others even harder until the empire collapses, deeply divided.
Right now is the perfect time to do it, just before next presidential elections.
Why not meddle for real, since both China and Russia are accused of doing it.
Melotte 22
Yes, signs of desperation. The Anglo-Zionist empire is collapsing and the elites are getting desperate. So, what do they do ? They apply more of the same, Soros style methods where a minority is used to both represent and control the majority.
In 2014 neo-Nazis from western Ukraine were brought to Kiev, the aim to create the impression that they were citizens of the capital city. The coup d’etat succeeded, only because the majority of the population did not wish to get involved, fighting thugs. However, that piece of stupidity was the best thing which could possibly happen to Putin, as it started a chain reaction which cannot be stopped. It’s only a matter of time before Ukraine implodes, the bulk of it reuniting with Russia, where it belongs.
As for Hong Kong, I can well believe that only 20.000 participated in demonstrations. The Western media blew the number out of proportion, in the process forgetting to show counter demonstrations in support of the Chinese Government.
In Moscow the police stated that just over 20.000 participated, many being teenagers. The organizers stated that 49.000 took to the streets. Even if true, they could still not fill half a football stadium in a city of 14 million inhabitants, nor could they have done so before.
Over here in Belgrade, where I live, we had in 2018 NGO organized protests, which I did not even see. I only heard of them on the Internet, astonished they got any publicity at all.
Soros style methods can only succeed temporarily, since the bulk of the populations do not support a minority of trouble makers. Even so, the Western elites will continue using them, hoping for success. They will not get it.
Btw about the 1.7 million protesters previously, WHAT A JOKE!
Somebody in HK made a calculation ->
to fit 1.7 million in that small space –
it would have to be body to body jammed pack with no elbow room to move
AND THEN STACK THEM 34 story HIGH! Go vertical! NICE!
HK police estimate to be top 12.8K including press, spectators and general ppl around – real figure of ‘colour revolutionist’ would probably be in one thousands plus.
Does the western MSM failed their maths so badly? or their lies is openly 34 times darker?
Think about it! 1.7million would needs to ride there via PUBLIC TRANSPORT and then back again,
HK public transport would have made at least 3.4 million tickets sale bonanza that day ALONE! WOW!
Or rather the western financier would have to pay for 3.4 millions ticket that day since they supply anonymous ticket without registering the name. Regular tickets (a piece of plastic) used to scan at the gates are registered to the holder’s name.
Can’t blame them if they didnt study history and now as exposed, they failed maths too!
But then it seems the general western friends broadly agree with the MSM 1.7 million utube clip, even though they know their MSM lied about everything. Everyone want to make a buck right?!
Apparently they are going to attack the airport on 24th again…
So who needs to scramble to leave the country this time?
A wanted list has been out in the open for the ‘leaders’
All of them will now be judged in the court of law as ‘terrorist’, not protesters!
The collateral damage on the public and the future of HK is too great a price for these few clown circus-show… sadly
Surely we can find a SPECIAL camp for the thousand odd colourful characters, right?
Now would not the CSC aptly applied to colourful characters like them?
How else would you deal with them, dear friends? Those who deliberately use the public, you and your family, as pawn, collateral damage, human shield (for them to escape) and bargaining chip?!
Not a bad article. There may be some truth to it. Which reminds me of the caveat: he who draws a conclusion only halfway, fails to draw one at all. How are we to understand that this blatant, and practically overt, coup attempt, which was possibly orchestrated to protect a handful of rich HK oligarchs, should now nosedive spectacularly, with the exactly opposite result of a nationalized HK, now seemingly highly likely. Has the empire only become increasingly worse at insurrections, and incapable of real subtleties?—after decades of secret laurel wreaths, is it now time to pass the clandestine palm? Whatever conclusions this author comes to, I think it wise to second guess.
The Thanatopian Reich wants a ‘massacre’ like the phony Tian An Men Square ‘massacre’ of 1989. It’s a business, too, regime change and Colour Revolutions, so it has an impetus and institutional momentum of its own as well. And the rulers of a morally corrupt, decaying Empire, where people live amidst streams of human faeces and spent syringes and needles, and where infrastructure, education, public services and social solidarity are all in full collapse, must hate and revile a country which has dragged itself out of 150 years of Hell through hard work and wise leadership, into a veritable ‘Shining City on a Hill’, run by non Judeo-Christian ‘mere Asiatics’. As I watch the daily drum-beat of increasingly vicious, raw, rage aimed at China, amidst the lies and venomous hypocrisy the stench of unbridled racist and xenophobic hatred is undisguised.
“What can explain these recent instances, proven by Agence France-Press, in which outright frauds — lies (in the form of faked photos and videos) — are being spread online to support the agenda of breaking off, from China, Hong Kong (which has historically always a part of China), so as to make Hong Kong an ‘independent’ nation?”
What? How about constant attacks on China, full spectrum dominance style, along with her allies and her trading partners. There is no way China will let zionazia take over Hong Kong and the zionazi-gays staging these riots know this. They have about as much chance there as their navalny monkey has to color rev Russia. Their goal is disruption and propaganda brownie points. “Death by a 1000 cuts”.

Not really, but the autistic, Zionist Mafiosi are always fidgety, itchy, hellbent on braking some glass, somewhere …
I started to frown at the reporting when demonstrators started to riot. I recognized the style of Antifa and their sugar daddy Soros. Add to that, why would demonstrators waive American flags, and write their protests in English and not Chinese? In China limited people understand English, and of those partially are reluctant to even speak it.
Of course in the USA they are already jumping the bandwagon: https://www.rt.com/news/466629-china-mocks-hillary-clinton/ , and even clown Bernie Sanders has a fart: https://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/1163437741389930501 (LOL, those reactions).
Let me get this straight.
-We are talking about an area in a nation with a special status.
-People are protesting against the current central regime of the nation.
-They want to decide themselves for their future.
Ok, so much for Crimea, now let’s talk about Hongkong ;-)
Problem with the Hegemon is, that their scriptbooks are getting dusty. I’m pretty sure that the Chinese know what to expect. They are patient, because they think long-term, in decades. My guess is, that they will sit it out. In the meantime, in the West we can await the next ‘issue’ to hype.
Cheers, Rob
Perhaps the reason why Sanders supports HK’s demonstrators is that one of the biggest charges against him is that he’s a commie because he’s a socialist and any socialist is a communist. Perhaps that’s also the reason he’s critical of Russia. Many voters are stuck in the Cold War. He needs at least some of them to vote for him. But his votes in Congress show more the opposite of that belief than at least 97% of other members of Congress. When votes display the opposite of the candidate’s grandstanding, I trust the votes, not the grandstanding.
I think you are right. In the area where I came from, they say (freely translated) “your jacket is weaving just like the wind blows”. I’ve got the impression that most politicians really don’t care about almost anything, except *power*, expressing in themselves and their bank account.
(For what it’s worth, I don’t trust e.g. this ‘rebellious’ AOC for a dime either, and I wonder who her sugar daddies are.)
As a whole, we are looking towards a class of permutations of Pinocchio. Sorry that I’m sarcastic, but reality regularly knocks at the door.
Mr. Zuesse, I forgot to mention it in my post, but this extensive article is an impressive debunking of the theatre we are being served without ordering. I do hope that it gets the attention and spreading that it deserves.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers, Rob
So, why was the recent Duma election op smothered so successfully, and the Hong Kong op still festering? Is Rus just better at snuffing out these ops? I don;t understand.

If you read my above comment, you will see that NGO’s in Moscow can never bring to the streets enough “protestors” to even fill half a football stadium. The bulk of “protestors” always turn out to be some teenagers and young people, out to have a good time. They do not have the support of the vast majority of the people of Moscow.
I just can’t recall where I saw it, but there was an excellent analysis of the Russian government handling of the “protests” about the Moscow city elections. Either here on the Saker site or else Moon of Alabama. Simply responding to your question: the Russians are fully conversant with the color revolution overthrow process plans. Also, the Army recently set a policy that any attempt to overthrow the government was equivalent to an armed attack on the State. So the military was out in force.
Apparently, a major lesson is to prevent the lawlessness that is the desired effect of these operations, while avoiding creating the image of a violently repressive regime. I watched over an hour of video of the demonstrations and the police response. The police presence was overwhelmingly visible, but always totally disciplined. After great patience and repeatedly telling the crowd to disperse (started out in an authorized venue, then moved to an unauthorized location, then another). They finally detained the ones who pigheadedly continued with the actions.
Every detainee was carefully investigated and all their outstanding issues: draft dodging, debts or taxes or alimony, or penalties unpaid, warrants for arrest, whatever, was brought out for action. Poor ignorant sad sacks! For example, the draft dodgers were given the option of two years in prison or enlist in the Army. You could even say there was a measure of humor in the government’s handling, plus strong doses of irony and karma.
The article is well worth reading in full. Sorry but it is late here. I took a quick look around but could not find it.
As for the situation in Hong Kong, that is probably the same fleas but a different dog. Spotted an interesting thought, probably in Zero Hedge (same excuse: it’s late and I’m lazy) that the extra ingredient for Hong Kong was that the British regime fostered a raw, undiluted capitalism, where the devil takes the hindmost. No social net as in the rest of China. So maybe some protesters have a (real?) complaint — being left out in the Capitalist cold — other than just helping American three letter agencies with their schemes.
The financial setup there is enshrined in the treaties the mediated the handover of the city to the PRC. May be difficult, but I can’t believe it is impossible to change.
EW
The article I think you were trying to relocate is the latest piece written by Scott Humor here on this site. From about 1 to 2 weeks ago.
”The U.S. seems to hope that China will intervene and create a second Tianamen scene. That U.S. color revolution attempt failed but was an excellent instrument to demonize China.”
If the US hopes for another resounding defeat of its ”Chinese Otpor” offal like what happened in Beijing in 1989, then please allow me to proclaim my absolute, nay overwhelming, agreement with the Pindo regime on this issue. A second Tiananmen at the hands of the Chinese state authorities would not just end the ongoing nonsense in HongKong — it would also end the nonsense about HongKong by finally making it another ordinary part of China.
I know this is not surprising, but it is worrying that it is now out in the open, that Facebook and Twitter are actively removing accounts from the Chinese government and Xinhua news agency. It will make it more difficult to counter the propaganda onslaught.
This means that when the information war picks up for real we cannot rely on these sources of information especially twitter which right now does give a lot of alternative information…(e.g. the news on the Yellow vests I get almost entirely from twitter)
NOrmally I think Serbian Girl speak eminent sense.

How can you rely on FB and Twitter for news and/or analysis?
Don’t you know that FB has become hopelessly politicized?
Facebook is basically a data mining op with close ties to US intelligence.
I can’t say much about Twitter because I have read a lot more about many issues with FB.
I wouldn’t touch FB with a ten-foot pole. And I certainly wouldn’t expect to get straightforward news reports via the Facebook news feed. Whereby everyone gets a different feed depending on the algorithm that has been mining their data. Including everywhere they go. Including mining all the data collected from and by other apps on your device, all of which are exposed once to sign on to FB. And you can never sign off.
Just don’t go there, is all I can say.
Katherine
Katherine, I agree what you say about Facebook. Personally I have never used Facebook, but I can’t blame the chinese government for using that platform for their media campaign as lots of people go there.
I read twitter. You can look things up without an account and the news is realtime…much more direct and unfiltered by news aggregators.
Where do you get your news from?
“Where do you get your news from?”
Good question!!
I don’t have TV. I don’t do social media.
Sites like this, Moon of Alabama, Consortium News, Strategic-Culture, links (also sometimes to Tweets) that I find at those places, PCR—the usual suspects, and some more, plus peruse German news sites.

“I can’t blame the chinese government for using that platform for their media campaign as lots of people go there. ”
Well, yes. This is exactly the problem.
FB has become ubitquitous and made itself kind of mandatory—but it is not a reliable platform because controlled. So, this is the huge catch-22 with Facebook. It has become an alternate reality that millions—or is it billions?—now immerse themselve in, thinking it is reality. But it is a controlled and manipulated environment. It is not a benificent environment.
First of all is the censorship—what is the good of China using using FB for a media campaign when it is also being banned or abused or “followers” are being abused, lied to, being banned, getting massaged “news feeds”? In fact, becoming fodder for various “enemy” media campaigns, as we saw with Russiagate.
Actually, it is creepy when you think about it because “followers” implies “leaders”—the Fuehrerprinzip! “Follow me on Fuehrerbook!” Ugh, no thanks.
And, every second a “follower” spends on FB, their data are being mined and monetized for use to sell adveritising to advertisers. In ways they cannot even begin to imagine.
Furthermore, much of this advertising is discriminatory in various ways. For example, if real estate outfits want to advertise only to a select group (say, no blacks; no Hispanics; above a ceratin income level; excluding certain professions) that is easy peasy because FB can easily determine the race and ethnicity and social profile of their “followers” using their algorithms to parse and recombine the data they have minded and exclude those people from seeing the ads. Just one tiny example. Even after FB was called out on this through a ProPublica experiment, they continued doing it.
So using Facebook for political organizing or media campaigns is truly a Faustian bargain for the 21st century.

For a recent update on FB acitivies see:
https://www.cjr.org/the_media_today/facebook-journalists-news-tab.php
Not comprehensive by any means, regarding FB issues, but still worth a read, as it is specifically about FB’s relationship to the news.
IMO, “curating” news is pretty close to censoring.
Of course all news media companies could be said to “curate” in choosing what to put on page one, whether it is a paper or a digital page. Still, everyone gets to see the same page one (I think.) and to compare different page ones, including those of altenative media.
In the case of FB, “curating” (I think) is choosing what specific people will see in their newsfeeds. Facebook is not a media company and it is not planning to employ journalists to create content, but merely as “curators.”
The piece actually raises more issues than it resolves, but still interesting to read. Also note the use of the phrase “conspiracy theory” to tar those who disagree with . . .well, with anything. It is time to scrub the English language of this phrase. For me it is like a red flag that the writer is using a rhetorical shortcut to score a point against someone or something. Not that different from “So, when did you stop beating your wife?”

the last I know FB and Google are firewalled in China, the Chinese are using their own alternatives
Grabbing HK back into the folds of the British Empire is a pipe dream, as is any notions of turning HK into an American oversea protectorate. Politicians and strategists of the west are not very bright, as most people have by now come to recognize by now, but even these morons know, under today’s geopolitical realities in military might, financial resources, and even cultural status quo (the so-called Soft-power), such an outcome is neither achievable nor tenable even if succeeded.
What the west have in mind, the west being mostly USA/UK with lackeys tag along composing of Oz, NZ, Maple Leaf, Japan, ROK, EU, Hindutva, et. al, is to administer pain upon China at absolutely NO COST to themselves. Casualties in HK, in human terms or economics, convey no harm upon their own but has promises of potential recoils of China’s national ascend into global geopolitical prominence. Succeed we win, fail we also win due to China’s setback, so why the hell not?
The Empire has been doing this ever since their retreat from Vietnam–in Central America, in the Caribbean, in Yugoslavia, in the Balkans/Caucasus in general, in North East Asia, in Hindu-Kush, in Central Asia, in Southeast Asia, and BIG TIME in the Middle East. You name it, they were there supplying arms, carrying out murders, economical sanctions to impair livelihood and health care. Half a million infant lives was a fair price to pay, they said; so are millions of homes/infrastructures/societal entities destroyed; human miseries borne by refugees. You name them, they are all worth it according to the Machiavellians living in Washington, London, Paris, and Bonn.
HK is simply their next play ground, ripe for the play because of a terribly brainwashed populace and proximity to their #1 target–China.
No Eric, they are not after the real estate. It would be too expensive to keep alive 8 million souls who grow nothing, manufacture nothing, and have no source of fresh water supply. They want the place DESTROYED and watch China squirm, that’s all.
ORIENTAL VOICE
You are so right in this. All the empire has left in real terms is to do what it knows in order to delay its death. It is in its end times and as it goes its evil becomes all that it has left and that becomes increasingly noticeable all over. Like a sick and dying dog that can only bark forlornly in the face of its approaching night. That is why I consider it no longer accurate to call it a “super power.” Now America as a super power is just a historical memory stuck in the fear component of peoples minds. Henceforth that designation is best applied to the increasing understanding and unity displayed between the nations that comprise the axis of resistance.
As with regime change in the Ukraine, it would be in the best interests of the Empire to destabilize Hong Kong and loot it prior to China formally taking over. Certainly the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (Hong Kong central bank) has gold. The Washington/London elites stole the gold from the Ukrainian central bank soon after the Ukraine had a color revolution, so why not try it with Hong Kong?
As an added bonus, if Hong Kong had regime change and a government hostile to China were to emerge, then the American and British could build bases there and could challenge China’s claim to chunks of the South China Sea. Even more sinister would be a successful popular vote to have Hong Kong merge with Taiwan instead of China.
Lumpenkonig:
Yikes.
Never thought of some of these possible scenarios.
But of course!
The USA would love to have an excuse to intervene in HK and then build a base there.
With the connivance of some HK Quisling.
Maybe it would be better for China to simply annex Hk right now.
The idea of the USA standing on the side of any groups protesting oligarchs’ power is laughable.
Oh, wait, other countries’ oligarchs are naughty boys whose existence proves the need of moral improvement by the USA—hey, by American and other Western oligarchs! “Our oligarchs” have risen to the top through merit, see? Their oligarchs are symptoms of societal cancer.
Or something like that . . .
Katherine
It will never happen. The chinese people have a loooooooong memory. Hong Kong was taken from China after the Opium Wars that initiated the 150 years of shame for the chinese people. The 1.3 billion chinese will rather die than allow one single foot of one american soldier or of one british soldier (what a joke…) to touch chinese soil.
Good comment, but nobody with power is living in Bonn anymore ;)
Oops!!! I should have said Brussels :)
Google Disables 210 YouTube Channels for Opposing Hong Kong Protests
https://sputniknews.com/science/201908231076613561-google-disables-210-youtube-channels-for-opposing-hong-kong-protests/
“Google Security announced Thursday it had disabled 210 YouTube channels for behaving “in a coordinated manner while uploading videos related to the ongoing protests in Hong Kong.” Noting the reasoning was “consistent” with that fielded by Twitter and Facebook in their account takedowns, this can only mean they posted pro-Beijing content.
Facebook and Twitter announced Monday the banning of hundreds of thousands of accounts on their platforms for what Twitter described as “deliberately and specifically attempting to sow political discord in Hong Kong, including undermining the legitimacy and political positions of the protest movement on the ground.”
Twitter deleted roughly 200,000 accounts, and Facebook removed seven pages, three groups and five private accounts.
How any of the companies proved the activities of the account owners were inauthentic or coordinated is not stated, only that by posting material critical of the Hong Kong protests, they were engaging in disinformation.
Inevitably, when the US targets a country for standing up to it, we’re bombarded with stories of evil deeds to justify US action against them. This is not propaganda, to them, it’s simply “facts.”
However, try to counteract the massive MSM infowar – that’s disinformation.
— Morgan Artyukhina (@LavenderNRed) August 20, 2019
Curiously, none of the three companies has removed or censured any channel, account or page carrying pro-demonstration material from outside the semi-autonomous city.
Beijing has accused Washington of supporting and encouraging the protests, especially as they take a decidedly anti-PRC stance. Significant evidence exists to support this, including a damning photo of a US diplomat meeting with protest leaders and admissions by US officials who played a role in planting the seeds of the unrest.”
A lot more interesting material in this article covering the origin of the HK protests and the censorship the zionazi-gays engage in to influence what people are able to know about what is going on there. The zionazi-gay media and the social media corps in the eest coordinate closely with the israeloamerican regime to limit what people in the west can readily access.
Cunningham on nyt propaganda.
This is what gloating looks like… NY Times distorts war-torn Syria
https://www.rt.com/op-ed/467079-syria-nyt-report-victory/
” A supposed survey of war-torn Syria by America’s so-called “newspaper of record” was not merely shoddy journalism; it was a cynical attempt to rewrite the history of the eight-year war.
The meandering report of more than 2,700 words was headlined: “What ‘Victory’ Looks Like: A Journey Through Shattered Syria.” It would have been more accurate to have used the title, “What Gloating Looks Like.”
Even the sly way the word ‘victory’ is put in quotation marks indicates, from the outset, the insidious purpose of the article. To pour scorn on how Syria and its people have in actual fact defeated a foreign-sponsored criminal war for regime change. The regime-change plot goes back to at least 2005 as this old CNN interview clumsily admits.”
Just a pack of Zionazis getting off on the success of the Oded Yinon Plan in Syria. They haven’t got partition and the ‘redemption’ of those parts of ‘Eretz Yisrael’ currently occupied by ‘two-legged animal’ goyim, but they have gotten hundreds of thousands of dead Syrians, mitzvot for their psychopathic God, Bibi. Blood is such a magical, mystical, substance, that spilling it for any reason is cause for celebration.
I listened to George Galloway speaking about the protests in Hong Kong. One thing he mentioned that your article did not, was that there are in fact two groups of protesters, one in favor of their government and one against.
Great takedown Eric on the sewerage known as Western mainstream media. Which as we all know is not media at all, but the propaganda arm of the 0.01℅.
Also appreciated the list of the 25 reliable, honest independent news sites, most of those I’ve looked at, at some point, however a few I never knew about.
May I suggest that the alleged ‘reporters’ of the mainstream ‘media’ continue their lying, even after being exposed because they’re either sociopaths or psychopaths or just hollowed out egomaniacs who get their ‘fix’ by being in front of the camera or in a newspaper. And they have the ethics of sewer rats as well.

‘London Rioters’ Unrequited Love For BlackBerry
Rioters in North London have been using BBMs to rally, presuming RIM’s phone-to-phone, encrypted messages won’t land in the hands of authorities. But in an increasingly familiar move, RIM has now pledged to work with those authorities.
…
This assistance could come in the form of cooperation with the British police force, who have already hinted that Twitter users who played a role in escalating riots could face arrest. Compared to tweets, Blackberry Messages‚ “BBMs,” are harder to trace. The data sent through the devices is encrypted and stored in RIM’s locked-down data centers, which they’ll open, the Telegraph suggests, if the U.K. government asks nicely.’

Blackberry is of course a Canadian company so lets ask for the What’s app rooms to be provided to the authorities as a live stream.
And Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are censoring any comment opposed to the compradore thugs in Hong Kong. Welcome to the ‘Free World’, where you can hold any opinion you like, so long as the Bosses like it, too.
What a massive MSM douche fest. The presstitute imbeciles have managed to turn the propaganda mill into a ball of confusion and contradictions within the anti-China storyline.
The problem with the zionazis vassal shabbos goy media is that no one is listening. Maybe a few neo-liberal infused hippy dinosaur-o-asses granny and grandpops are on the zionist message – but to everyone else it has become white noise.
The article expresses perfectly, by outlining the numerous links of copy-pasta frauds, the complete inability of the zionazis oligarchy to do anything right.
President slump of the united states
President Thump (tellingly more popular in Israel than in the US) is about to become President Slump.
Pity the Gillet Jeunes didn’t get the same media coverage!
Tiu – that very fact that the Gilets Jaunes are just ignored by the alleged ‘media’ – in fact they (GJ) literally don’t exist; while the slime stenographers hyperventilate about Hong Kong day after day repeatedly, tells you whose protests are genuine and grass roots, and whose protests serve the agenda of the Anglo Zionist Empire. Follow the money behind HK – NED is one example.

Hong Kong Crisis: Made in America
https://journal-neo.org/2019/08/24/hong-kong-crisis-made-in-america/
It looks like the US operating systems, IOS, Android, MAC OS and Windows are pushing Western propaganda out to their user base constantly by integrating ‘NEWS’ streams into the GUI.
If you’ve followed one color revolution after the other, including Ukraine, you become skeptical, in this case with a new one, Hong Kong. We don’t even bother watching it online or on US tv. We already know it’s a stupid farce just as Eric Suezze points out.
We have far better ways of spending our valuable time, and it sure as heck isn’t watching a new US/UK PR stunt.
An interesting article in the South China Morning Post outlines how Chinese companies producing everything from canned mandarin oranges, to mid and high-tier furniture, cannot sustain a business model without access to the U.S. market.
Their problem?… In essence, when they established their decades-old business model the overwhelming majority of their manufacturing was/is contingent on U.S. buyers.
