No argument there and I think we could add a few more countries to the withdrawal list. Leave anytime, now would not be too soon.

    • Anonymous on January 07, 2020  ·  at 12:15 am EST/EDT

Tulsi wanted to keep the troops in Syria when Trump order a withdrawal, at-least Trump remained consistent during his entire campaign, she couldn’t even do that.

Sure they are going to stop fighting isis and Al queda, if they were ever really fighting their proxies. They will allow them to regroup, arm them and use them against the Iraqi people and government again as before.

  3. Reggie Meezer on January 06, 2020  ·  at 7:12 pm EST/EDT

The problem Tulsi is “our betters” in your Dem Party nor the GOP will do that. The AntiWar Left evaporated long ago during Obama’s rein. Where were you Tulsi when Obama, Hillary & the 3 harpies blew up Libya?

  4. Hamonrye on January 06, 2020  ·  at 8:13 pm EST/EDT

Just like you, Tulsie, the “troops” consciously chose to join the official zio merc army for the handouts and the promise of thrills and adventure and because of the dead ends as a ‘civvie’, so why would they possibly even want to leave the middle east and their rip-roaring, M4-toting lives behind them to return to the squalor and the indolent life of a common US tax donkey? Not as many at home would say ‘thank you for your service’ until they’ve helped light up a few camel dung eaters. Hey there could even be another Abu Ghraib in the making, and they and you certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on that.

  5. morticia on January 06, 2020  ·  at 10:13 pm EST/EDT

Tulsi fails to mention the green-zone in both Afghan & Iraq, both are +5 sq-miles and +$5B USD in cost, both are like the Vatician, and like the Vatican both are diplomatic fronts for child-sex and drug-running.

Why would the ANZ give up these franchise opeations????

    They will not,

Calling for troops to come home is a joke, when there are 100’s of 1,000’s of diplomatic immune killers in the green-zone.

  6. jiri on January 06, 2020  ·  at 10:14 pm EST/EDT

Trump murdered a diplomatic envoy while carrying out his duties.

If ever thee was a high crime and misdemeanour this is it.

Tulsi Gabbard should start impeachment proceedings on this count.

  7. billy saul estes on January 06, 2020  ·  at 10:59 pm EST/EDT

She went to what she knew was an immoral, illegal war. I’m supposed to think she has credibility?

    • Riverdrinker on January 08, 2020  ·  at 2:31 pm EST/EDT

More than that, she joined the Empire’s enforcement arm voluntarily. Just another District of Criminals slimebag politician who will sniff the wind and change course anytime it furthers her (or her handlers) wishes.

  8. subhuti37 on January 07, 2020  ·  at 6:59 am EST/EDT

compare Tulsi to another Iraq war veteran. See the difference?

Was Tulsi at a rally like this? Did she speak like this guy does?

…when one consider this “modus operandi”, her declarations looks “naïve”, just for not being rude to her.
It looks like a “Soprano´s” episode.
    Hard to believe, really…
    Regards..!

It was disappointing to watch her in one of the Fox News interviews where she parrots the same message about Gen Solemani was a bad guy and no one should shed a tear for him etc.
I suppose she’s aware of her limits (if she wants to be considered by the American public), but it shows how sad the state of affairs is in the US.
No one can speak the truth without being shunned as a pariah.
    Sad…

    • TBeholder on January 08, 2020  ·  at 10:09 pm EST/EDT

It was predictable. Her job is to salvage the Inner Party from the circus it became, via blatant populism, mostly reusing moves of Obama and Trump. So anything goes, as long as it can get applause.
And the rest will not gang up on her for being insufficiently Progressive, because their owners will pull their leashes if they try.

Gabbard’s toeing the “establishment line” is a common failing among pindo politicians. This article describes times when both she and AOC do this.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez Goes to Washington: AOC shamed into un-liking antiwar journalist’s tweet, apologizing for wrongthink

    https://www.rt.com/usa/477659-aoc-iran-strike-trolls-khalek/

“Ocasio-Cortez (AOC, for short) stepped a little too far outside the mainstream when she clicked ‘like’ on a tweet by journalist Rania Khalek about US fears of Iranian retaliation over the killing of General Qassem Soleimani. An army of blue-checks and their enforcers quickly encircled her to point out the error of her ways, gloating when she finally knuckled under and apologized.

It’s hardly the first time AOC has made a bold statement and then ran in the other direction – she was shamed away from speaking out against the Israeli occupation of Palestine before she was even officially elected to Congress, and more recently she was the subject of a Twitter pile-on when she attempted to speak up for UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Nor is it the first time a ’progressive’ US politician has had their knuckles rapped for veering too far outside the accepted mainstream. Even Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, one of the loudest voices in Washington speaking out against the US’s regime change wars, has been forced to adopt the establishment line about Syrian President Bashar Assad, with whom she met in 2017 in the service of finding a peaceful solution to the decade-long war the US has waged in his country. Following an avalanche of media criticism that is still ongoing nearly three years later, Gabbard has called Assad an evil dictator.

Unfortunately, there are no progressive role models in Congress for AOC (or Gabbard, for that matter) to look up to as an example of how to stick to one’s principles and stand against war. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, while a steadfast supporter of the rights of the working class, has largely toed the line on foreign policy throughout his career, lining up with the rest of Congress to demand Assad, Venezuela’s Maduro – or whoever the bogeyman of the moment is – must go.”

This sort of cowardice/conformity is ubiquitous among both democrats and republicans. Some appear to stand “outside of the box”, for example those listed in this article and republicans such as rand paul or trump, not listed, but the operative term here is “appear”. They give the impression they are not the standard clones, but their actions don’t support their stated views, and even worse, it just takes a depressingly minor bit of “prodding” to get them to backtrack or betray others. Which means they are frauds as much as the obvious “establishment” promoting politicians are. The deceptions are deliberate. It’s part of the psywar used on us .
