Dear friends,
There is no overstating the importance of the video and transcript I am posting today. In a crucial moment of the confrontation between the AngloZionist Empire and Russia, two top Putin advisors – Sergei Glaziev and Mikhail Khazin – openly and very candidly discuss the “economic front” of this global war. Both of these man are top level economists, both of them have a first hand and truly immense knowledge of the real state of affairs of the Russian state and Russian economy, and both have “Putin’s ear” (they – not Dugin – are his close advisors). Last but not least, Khazin and Glaziev are firmly in the “Eurasian Sovereignist” camp and are therefore hated by the “Atlantic Integrationist” 5th column.
One more thing: yesterday I published a manifesto by Strelkov whom I described as an “iconic symbol and spokesman for the “Eurasian Sovereignist” camp“. This is true as far as the Russian people are concerned. But Strelkov has no access to the high spheres of power and he is not privy to the internal Kremlin politics. Strelkov has the potential to play an important role because the real power base of Putin and the “Eurasian Sovereignists” is what we could call “the Russian street” – the people of Russia (in contrast to the real power base of the Atlantic Integrationists who are the Russian liberal money elites). But Strelkov will never be part of any move to re-gain control of the Russian Central Bank or to change the interest rates charged to Russian businesses. Khazin and, especially, Glaziev will.
My intention with these publications is to give you, my readers, a “behind the scenes” or “not for western audiences” kind of access and insight into the very real war taking place inside Russia. At a time when so many putatively pro-Russian bloggers present a crude and primitive “shoulda coulda woulda” model with on one side heroic good guys and on the other villains and traitors I want you to be able to see the extreme complexity and intensity of the internal war taking place inside Russia for the future of Russia. Once you do that, then the apparent zig-zags of Russian policies in Novorussia will begin to make sense to you and you will be able to distinguish real Russian patriots (those who struggle to free Russia from the AngloZionist domination) from the fake ones (those who always find a way to criticize the former ones but never do anything useful themselves).
Sorry for that long introduction, but I am so exited to finally be able to share these important documents with you that I wanted to explain why I consider them so important.
A few technical points now:
1) There is a nasty little outfit out there trying to have this video removed from YouTube on “copyright grounds”. I urge you to download it as soon as you can. Firefox users can do that with the “MP4 downloader”, “DownloadHelper” and “DownThemAll” extensions. Please feel free to repost it anywhere you want (RuTube maybe?)
2) By “popular demand” and because this is a most important document, I have made the full transcript available for download here (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByibNV3SiUooUGFhejRCM2Q4bm5oWHVXTlpLY2dsazF4a2Vn/view?usp=sharing )
Okay, that’s here. On with the video now. Enjoy!!

The transcript download is in the .srt format which has to be downloaded, then opened in any text editor (notepad etc). It won’t open by itself.
Use the “here” hyperlink, as copy/pasting the black full link doesn’t seem to work either.
SAKER if they change it to .txt extension it will open in notepad or Word automatically.
The CC caption button is missing on the video….is it just me?
Dear Saker,
Would it be possible to reformat the subtitle, they appear only partially.
One big issue:
When argentina defaulted in 2002, several provinces printed their own currency, with and without support from the central bank. All the money that had been deposited in the bank accounts in dollars, was actually airlifted abroad with antecedence of the default.
These secondary currencies were used to pay salaries, and daily transactions. They did NOT generate inflation, and very much saved the country from total collapse. I believe that Glazyev and Khazin should examine this experience. Of course, until their expiration in which the central bank redeemed them, these currencies were not exhangeable for foreign currencies.
In any case, control of the Russian Central Bank
Cannot be left to the enemy.
Kind regards, and thanks again

I see the transcript, but it doesn’t look like srt format and these have not worked as subscripts with my player (GOM).
I downloaded using keepsubs.com, which has so far always worked, whereas the other utilities I’ve tried often do not.
For example, the first lines of the srt file are formatted:
1
00:00:15,000 –> 00:00:22,000
Good afternoon, colleagues and guests. I am pleased to welcome you to the studio of international multimedia press-centre “Russia Today.”
2
00:00:23,000 –> 00:00:31,000
We’ll start our press conference with Vladimir Anatolievich’s welcoming speech. Today, he’ll take on a role of a moderator. Please.
3
00:00:32,000 –> 00:00:36,000
V.А.: Well, not a welcoming speech, but I would like, first of all, introduce our guests.
whereas the transcript is:

Battleships And Helicopters Join Hunt For Missing Submarine: Sweden Prepares To “Use Weapons To Surface Sub”
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/21/2014 – 11:14
Sweden’s military has announced that if it finds a suspect foreign vessel in the Stockholm archipelago, it is prepared to force it to the surface “with weapons if necessary”. “Our aim now is to force whatever it is up to the surface… with armed force, if necessary,” he added. He added that submarines are “extremely difficult” to find, and that Sweden has never succeeded in the past when it came to tracking them down. “And no one else has either,” he added. If the sub is indeed Russian, it would be quite a hit for Sweden, which in more than a decade of hunting Russian U-boats in the 1980s and early nineties, never succeeded in capturing one, except in 1981 when the U137 ran aground several miles from one of Sweden’s largest naval bases, triggering an embarrassing diplomatic stand-off for Russia.

All 3 experts who took part in the interview clearly said again and again the obvious already from years truth-Central Bank of Russia is working actively against Russian national interests, actively as one of them said “torpedoed”any positive politics to ensure Russian independence at financial/economical front. It is no wonder really-tons of info who benefit most of criminal agreements as Bretton Woods or from actions of criminal organizations as IMF/WB(their high level execs should be sentenced for at least 20+years single cell for their genocidal activities and crimes).
As a side note-just days ago a law for changing how CB Of Russia is governent/bring back under national control has failed to pass in Russia parlament.Stats who voted Yes and NO are out.ALL members of the ruling party in Russia for whatever reason have abstained from voting.Hopefully constitution will be changed soon and Russian Central Bank will start working FOR instead Against national interests of Russia.

Hong Kong Chief: Can’t Have Democracy Or The Poor Will Have A Say
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/21/2014 – 09:43
Clearly, Leung Chung-Ying, Hong Kong’s embattled leader, did not get the Jean-Claude Juncker memo that “when things are bad, you have to lie.” As The NY Times reports, Leung – rather stunningly – said overnight that it was unacceptable to allow his successors to be chosen in open elections, in part because doing so would risk giving poorer residents a dominant voice in politics.
Russia is supporting the governments of Iraq and Syria with massive supplies of weaponry and military equipment in order to help them fight against extremist groups, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.
Lavrov, speaking at a panel discussion focusing on Russia’s foreign policy, said that with the Russian aid, the Iraqi and Syrian governments’ combat capacity has been greatly enhanced.

Another reporter iced.. Peopel who tell the world the truth has a much higher chance of being in an accident than those who stick their heads in the sand.
Turkey murdered American journalist Serena Shim because she had proof that Turkey was supporting IS terrorists. They got some guy to ram her car with a cement truck. All the middle eastern countries and Turkey are terrorist states enabled by the USA. If not for the exceptional state these guys would dare not arm and fund terrorists that are destablising the entire world.
Her death comes only 2 days after a video interview where she detailed her fears of being arrested, claiming Turkish intelligence agents had threatened her after her reports suggested ISIS militants were being smuggled back and forth over the Syrian border in the back of NGO aid vehicles. The Turkish government (and the US) has made it clear the targets are really the Kurds, and Assad in Syria, contrary to the hype about ISIS. The US has made it clear that the war is also about oil, along with the longer term gas wars.
We were some of the first people on the ground, if not the first people to give that story of those Takfiri militants going in through the Turkish border from Bab al Hawa, Reyhanli border [crossing], being sent in.
I got images of them in World Food Organization trucks. It was very apparent that they were Takfiri militants by their beards and by the clothes that they wore and they were going in there with NGO trucks and I just find it very odd, they went to several local residents here and asked about me.
I kinda wonder what’s happening. The situation in Kobani now… I’ve been hearing… there’s going to be more training camps… to send into Syria…
“do you think that this campaign by Turkish intelligence against you is also a warning for other journalists reporting on the ground over what and how they might report”
I definitely do.

The video made me pessimistic about Russia’s economic future. Yes, I agree with much of what these economists say. But at the same time I see them mentioning that neither the Central Bank nor the Russian government supports their position. At the same time I also see that the ruble keeps being overvalued and none of the reforms they propose is implemented.
As one of the speakers mentioned, sanctions (both ways) have only led to shifting import to China and Belarus. Not to effective policies of import substitution.
So if tomorrow sanctions would be increased Russia is not prepared. And given that it would take years to implement all those reforms it would suffer.
I think import substitution means importing from country C rather than country A.
A lot of this went over my head, but some of it didn’t. Much appreciated Saker, please keep these precious sources of insight coming.

This is the other shoe dropping. If the industrial east has been destroyed, banning the import of Ukrainian food products into Russia must make the hernia collapse all the more acute.
I guess my question for the experts does grain (wheat) included in the ban?
Maybe bags of wheat can keep the uki fascists warm this winter
Several thoughts:
The translation and sub-title teams are doing great service in the vacuum once called journalism. They are not only delivering news and truth but in a form that can be retained for reference and historical record. In the ephemeral digital world that is our sole source of information these days, and which is manipulated and revised by the Elites and those who serve that Liberal Cult, this volunteerism is a huge victory. I salute you all! Thank you.
Russia is in dire need of a governmental shakeup. The question that arises from this video is when will Putin shake the tree and get rid of all the monkeys shitting on the nation.
Quite remarkable TV. We’ve seen others from Russia. thanks, Saker for this one.
And then today in Hong Kong there was a live televised meeting of the HK SAR officials and some student leaders (none of the initial rabble rousers of course, because they are owned and operated by the CIA/State Dept/NGOs).
This two hour broadcast went to big screens around the sites where protesters and upset citizens who are anti-protest could see and hear it.
So, has anything like the Russian or the Chinese transparency been seen in the West, ever?
Both nations are vilified for being oppressive and anti-freedom, undemocratic, autocratic, totalitarian. Yet, both nations demonstrate over and over that they are transparent with their people on issues that truly matter.
Both ex-communist ruined nations have come a long way in a very short time. They still have much work to do.
My country, hijacked by Liberal Elites, has pledged itself to demonic policies. It produces chaos and calls it victory. It kills senselessly and ceaselessly and calls it defense. It pays the most demented creatures to terrorize millions of innocent women, children and men. And it expects loyalty while rewarding its citizens with debt, joblessness and, now, rampant diseases.
And my country’s government is the most opaque, secretive and corrupt to core of any developed or developing country on earth.
In comparison to Russia and China, sadly, the U.S. has gone rogue globally and tyrannical nationally.
If Sweden uses weapons to force the “Russian sub” to the surface, is that considered an act of war?
OK, I’ll bite. I listed to them talking in circles without mentioning the key point.
Who owns the Russian Central Bank? Who controls and who profits by keeping the Russian economy suppressed?
Should I just make some assumptions? Are the owners of the RCB relatives of the owners of the US Fed?
The situation is potentially headed to catastrophic economic implosion if the government and decision makers continue in denial mode, as they have clearly been until now.
What is taking place CAN be an oportunity to really create a new system, which means first of all reforming the banking system so it stops working against Russia, and putting tight controls on capital flight which is enormous.
If they do nothing and just hope things will fix themselves, it will be a disaster.

So is this actually going to happen
Will Europe float a loan to Ukraine to pay Russian gas arrears?
I love these stories of optimism. They have agreed on a price, but not on payment.
Come on Europe, just hold your nose and cut a check for $5.5 billion for your Neo Nazi pals before the snow starts to fall
Gotta love Putin: fly into Milan late, make them all wait around like the hired help, say nyet to everything and then go bird dog chicks with Berlusconi at 3 in the morning (snark)
What is Russian for “Revenge is a dish best served COLD?
This is indeed top shelf stuff. It deserves more than just comments, but serious study and analysis. I am confident it will be conducted in DC and by qualified expert defense contractors elsewhere.
Clearly these men fully comprehend the economics of the situation, and will find suitable solutions given political dictates. As always, the political song is a horrible song.
I believe a significant start to an effective long term solution may be afforded in the “real bills
doctrine” of Adam Smith. The use of discounted real bills has worked since the middle ages in providing credit financing. They are self liquidating and noninflationary. The real bills (also known as gold bills) are the clearing mechanism for the gold standard.
The interested reader can find additional information elsewhere. I believe the employment of this financing system could advance the betterment of the entire world through the reduction of poverty and the attendant hunger, disease, war, et. al.

slow to saddle, fast to ride.

Thanks for this video. It is a bit disappointing to think that essential reforms haven’t taken place yet. One can make the case that Putin pushed the elites in a national direction, but it sounds like there is an entire comprador elite.
Impressive video, thank you. How to get rid of this filth eh fifth column that’s messing things up.

This community must realize how much support this blog work of Saker’s needs for the betterment of the world.
Saker’s place is here hosting this wonderful education…not trying to earn a living in a 9-5 job working for some corporation…
I hope that crowdfunding can become a reality for this blog…I know it works wonders, and the ‘comments section’ can be a place where we can talk about it…
As I was watching the video it occurred to me that some investments don’t bring a monetary gain…but a cultural gain… this is actually why the world is such a mess now…its all about money and nothing else…
So even if there is no financial gain in crowdfunding Saker’s blog…maybe we could each contribute something to a better world…?
I think it takes a commitment of time too. Not just now, because we’re feeling guilty because of his plea…we much commit over a period of time…how many months have we been gaining from this place ?
And it takes much more than what a newspaper costs…we must commit grocery-type dollars…$60 for a single little bag of groceries now…and how many bags of groceries does a family use in a month ??

I have to say I am not that much interested in the military part of geopolitics, but I am am very interested in the economy part. I completely agree with whoever said that the most important pilllar of a nations sovereignty is the right to issue it’s own currency – not by ‘independent central bank’ (no such institution exists…), but by the parliament or even smaller local authorities.
All in all, I am still not convinced that Russia isn’t just the other side of the same coin – the coin of ageless moneychangers.

Sorry dude but you are totally misinformed. The FED is fully owned by the US congress and congress only. All that nonsense about Rothschilds etc. is simply that, nonsense. Go read the Federal Reserve Act and see for yourself.
Private ownership in the FED is mandatory, but limited to $20,000 and is only there to bind the banks into the FED system.
I don’t kow about the russian system, but I guess it is similar, with the state itself pulling the strings.
If Russia has any sense they will immediately come out and blame this on the CIA/NSA.

“Anti-Petrodollar” CEO Of French Energy Giant Total Dies In Freak Plane Crash In Moscow
Three months ago, the CEO of Total, Christophe de Margerie, dared utter the phrase heard around the petrodollar world, “There is no reason to pay for oil in dollars,” as we noted here. Today, RT reports the dreadful news that he was killed in a business jet crash at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow after the aircraft hit a snow-plough on take-off. The airport issued a statement confirming “a criminal investigation has been opened into the violation of safety regulations,” adding that along with 3 crewmembers on the plane, the snow-plough driver was also killed.
If Sweden uses weapons to force the “Russian sub” to the surface, is that considered an act of war?
21 October, 2014 21:09
If it is a Russian sub there – the Russians should own up and admit it – if there is any great chance of it being discovered or grounded for instance.
If it isn’t a Russian sub – it is most likely a US sub. So go for it Sweden. Give it your best shot boys.
The Russian 5th column is placed is between Scylla and Carybdis. Scylla represents the risk of tough Western sanctions. Carybdis is the risk of a political storm that will destroy the 5th columnist influence in Russia.
With a little help from vicky nuland and her ukies, Scilla and Caribdis will stay in place, while the 5th columnists attempt to sail accross their Strait of Messina.
part i
The credit crunch problem that the experts discuss is a familiar problem. They rightly analyse it as an internal and external problem. One ofthe speakers asks: if, what with sanctions, the technology transfer problem is as easy to solve as some observers believe, why wasn’t it solved a decade ago? The observation about the parmesan cheese and salmon from Belarussia is amusing. The conduct of the Russian central bank as they describe it is familiar to us westerners in the EU and US. Indeed, independent central banks are, by definition, 5th columns.
History provides many inspiring examples of how credit problems have been tackled. These problems are mirrored worldwide within local, national and continental scenarios. The Argentinian solution cited by anonymous 10/21 16:27 is a bottom-up answer, perhaps more transient than foundational.
Regional measures such as the public South Dakota State bank and, historically, Birmingham’s Municipal Bank (UK) under the mayorship of Neville Chamberlain (then to become the Munich ‘appeaser’) are worth looking at (the Birmingham plan, founded in 1915, was scuppered through restrictions imposed by Westminster, unsurprisingly, long before the bank’s final demise in 1976).
Then we have the WWI State-backed Bradbury Pound (which the private banking sector insisted on due to a threatened mass run, and a solution which they insisted had also to be discontinued asap when the danger of the run was over).
Australia made it through WWI with no additional public debt at all. It did so by means of measures on a siilar scale. We also have the ‘social credit’ system devised by Major C. H. Douglas.
Bottom line: we shouldn’t mistake the wood for the trees. On a certain plane of analysis, these projects (whether local or national) are identical.
I suspect the experts and Putin WANT to aim low. That disturbs me. They wish to settle for a modest restyling. This will likely be their downfall, and Russia’s (and hence probably the world’s, at least within all our lifetimes).
While they wisely won’t flesh it all out publicly, their vision seems to be basically ‘more of the same’.
Pragmatism?
I suspect not. Admittedly, they are aware of the dangers for Russia of the present situation. The scale. Good. They argue rationally. Good. But it’s hardly impressive.
My own ‘two kopeks’ – at least as a modest kickstart – are as follows:
a 10% circulating fiscal credits system. The government decides to commission, say, a project (defence, civil, research, fixed capital assets, infrastructure etc.). It says, I’ll pay you, Mr/Ms Contractor (A), not 100 rubles but 90 rubles plus a 10 ruble tax credit. The contractor has two choices. Hold on to the tax credit and use it to pay taxes at the end of the year, or use it, in turn, to pay his/her own supplier/s (B) (who must also pay taxes and can use – and accept – the credit for this purpose). When a value circulates not between 2 but 3 parties (A,B,C) it is de facto money and hence its presence in itself combats the credit crunch (but since it isn’t money, we may say it ‘sidesteps’ both the credit crunch and the consumption prices inflation trap).
Hoarding is prevented by date-stamping the credit (an idea of Silvio Gessel’s) and automatically diminishing the credit’s value (say, by 5%) after a certain period of time (of course, after the pertaining tax deadline). The credit’s value may be diminished in value as a tax credit, and/or diminished in value within the context of circulation among private individuals.
The credits are obviously unexportable.
And so on through the chain of subcontractors, sub-subcontractors (and perhaps even employees?) (A,B,C,D,E,F… ?). This system has the benefit of augmenting the money mass. It geographically ties the money mass down to Russia (or a region of Russia, i.e. whichever taxpayer base is chosen) and hence accelerates circulation (V, in the form of the credits as described but also, more importantly, in the form of the rubles attached to these circulating credits).
The above-mentioned inflation blowback risk on increased cirulation is low or perhaps inexistent: the greater the velocity – aka V – of circulation, the smaller the required money mass – aka M – will be. The volume of credit provided in this form should, in any case, be calibrated (transparently) to GDP fluctuations/trends. As the Italian TV commercial says: No Martini? No party.
This all translates into a powerful multiplier effect for all spending. I.e. maximum economic results on expenditure, over and above the concrete needs that occasioned the spending in the first place (defence, civil, research, fixed capital assets, infrastructure etc.). The multiplier effect combines with concrete needs met (both are added values).
Is this all cost-free? Won’t the government lose out on revenues?
No.
With this plan, the government extends credit (admittedly interest free) but it does so without spending a rouble (apart from admin. costs), so it can commission more without increasing the fiscal burden.
Were the government to apply interest to – or to tax – something that costs it nothing to issue, that would be called seigneurage (it’s very harmful, tantamount to sin, and essentially what the Fed & Co. does worldwide).
Would Russia need reforms to do this? Not necessarily. However, desirable reforms may be, this system stands ALONGSIDE the current (aiing) system, so, in strictly practical terms, or, in other words, despite its implications, the plans treads on no one’s toes.
Sergey Glazyev, Khazin Mikhail Leonidovich & Vladimir Yuryevich Levchenko didn’t mentioned once the importance of gold leasing for the global credit game. Neither did they mention anything about Russia’s policy in regards to gold.
Russia has been a stealth player in the gold market ever since a key economic advisor to Russia’s President Putin, Andrey Bykov, attended the Gold Rush (August 7-9 2005) conference in Dawson City. This historic conference exposed the manipulation of the gold market by western central banks through the gold leasing mechanism. Since the Russians quietly positioned themselves accordingly as to their accumulation of gold reserves. Note emphasis: quietly. The Russians have known for years that gold has been way too cheap and why, which is a main factor in their buying.
President Putin is holding a ace card….gold. The problem is: If he is playing his ace card he might provoke the empire of chaos into an irrational response leading to nuclear war. The stakes are that high.

Sorry about the geography mistake. I apologise also for the typos in my previous two posts,
Excellent!
Starting about 1:15 M. Khazin says,
“It (sanctions) makes sense only in case the U.S. government realizes that the system is dead.” and “Today we think of the future. How will we live when now-declining system stops existing.”
In my opinion, M. Khazin reveals the shifting sand beneath the surface of military and economic conflict unfolding in the Ukraine, etc. The monetary system sustaining the Anglo-Zionist-Empire since the Brenton Woods Agreement is near the end of its time line.
The elites of the one world system know the reset is now and they need conflict to maintain control though the transition. War is the historical method of controlling populations through financial resets of the past.
War is a dangerous and unpredictable enterprise in the era of advanced weaponry. If the major war option is not available; the elites must rely on internal police forces and scapegoating to prevent anarchy and revolution through the reset period which is certain to impoverish most citizens of the Anglo-Zionist-Empire.
We observe the militarization of police forces in the AZ-Empire and Russia and China will be tagged as the culprits for the collapse of the USD system of empire and the exorbitant privilege of its citizens.
M. Khazin establishes evidence of the on rushing reset event for the USD system. The world central banks are the representatives of the elite interests of the one world empire. Their interest is maintaining the status quo privilege and power of the owners. They will make serious sacrifices of power and privilege, but they will survive. I think the pendulum of elite privilege will swing back to a more just order, after years of serious chaos.
Compromises and sacrifices will be made during the reset event. The world is fortunate to have Russia, China, etc. aware and capable of the transitioning the tectonic shifts already in motion. The most serious dislocation will occur in the center of the empire.
Europe has prepared the Euro for the transition. On the first line of the balance sheet of the ECB is gold, not the USD. The Euro will survive, as well as the sovereign currencies of China and Russia; but it will take careful and just sacrifices from all parties to build a new world system of trade settlement. The Anglo-Zionist-Empire elites are aware, but few citizens know the reality behind the chaos and sacrifice they will endure.
I try to observe without scapegoating or retribution. There will be sufficient sacrifice and blame for all–the elites, the deep state, the citizens, corporations, etc. The world has a once in a life time opportunity to transition to a more just world system based on merit rather than caste.
Thank you Saker for the important interview and its translation so we may better prepare for the changes upon us!
Best wishes….bob kay
I am puzzled by Putin’s state of denial regarding to oil prices. Oil prices have a history of alternating periods of being very low and being very high.
The problem with oil is that both supply and demand are very inflexible. People are very slow to consume less when the prices are high or to consume more when the prices are low. On the other hand: much of the production costs are in exploration and drilling. Once the oil is flowing the marginal costs are rather low. Besides that stopping a well may result in extra costs when it is restarted later on. So if there is low demand there is little reduction in the production – resulting in a steep fall in prices.
We now live in a period of high prices that seems to be running towards its end. We have increasing oil production in the US. If also Iran, Iraq and Libya would all return to their full potential this would mean a lot of extra production.
In that light I find it disturbing that Putin is talking about falling oil prices as a danger to humanity and unlikely to last long.
Hi, I’m the Brazilian guy,
Just an observation, during the interview, in the beginning, at 1:22 minute, the host, Vladimir Anatolievich made a gesture when referring to the State Council. I think it’s intentional and provocative. What about you all?
If someone can develop an opinion I’d appreciate.
A falling oil price is good, because it will hopefully force Russia to diversify its economy away from a reliance on a commodity that has little future prospects due to anthropogenic climate destabilisation. If Vladimir Vladimirovich was to visit his own high tundra, and see for himself the giants craters blasted out by gas emitted by melting permafrost, make a voyage to the eastern Siberian seas, and witness the great columns of methane bubbling to the surface, he will see the future, and its not pretty and its not hydrocarbons.

Sasy: this hoarding concept needs to be broken into components. People saving for eventualities/a rainy day, is counter cyclical, and not detrimental. The great masses of people have very little savings, they are subject to the iron law of wages. When they manage to save something it has counter cyclical properties.
the real problem in hoarding is the type that is rent seeking.

Saker,
I have been following the very interesting story of Lee Wanta, He says he was assigned by Pres Reagan to bring down the Soviets in the 90’s (which he managed to do) and with $500 Billion in seed money he multiplied this by 54 times to a total of 27 Trillion by buying Roubles from Russians desperate for hard currency to buy the good things in life (or even essentials). Having amassed a good portion of the Russian cash in circulation he sold this back to the Russian Central bank to make his profit as the central bank of Russia was desperate for the money to keep the economy going. He paid the seed capital back and tried to claim his $27 Trillion and was thrown in Jail. Now out of Jail he recently sought the assistance of a couple of congressmen to get the money back. They called him for a conference call and when he didn’t answer continued to discuss his situation and decided that if they weren’t going to be given a cut they would get rid of him. This is all on Veteren’s today and youtube videos (Including the conference call). The justice department has been provided with the conference call shortly before Holder resigned. A documentary is going to be made about all of this.
What do you make of this (apologies if you have covered it elsewhere).
My thoughts are that the original $500 Bn in “hard currency” he was given is only hard currency because of the power of the Petro Dollar (since Nixon took it off the gold standard in 71). So Wanta didn’t “make” the 27 Tn “honestly” for himself (not that he claims the 27Tn for “himself” he claims it on the behalf of the American People) he’s asking for it back from the Fed/Treasury MIC banking system as real money to pay off the US debt (17Tn) and use the rest to insvest in infrastructure.
Secondly, so you amass a 27Tn worth fortune in Roubles and you rock up to the Russian Central bank and say “here buy this and sell me something of real value” (given that at the time there was hyperinflation or serious inflation going on and your stash is rapidly dwindling in value. Why doesn’t the Russina Central bank tell you to where to go. Remember De-Gaulle did this in the 70’s, the French amassed dollars though their banks in Indo-china during the Vietnam way, he sent a warship to New York full of these printed dollars and demanded gold at the Federal Reserve but was turned away and the gold window was quetly closed (followed by the oil shocks). So there has to be something else Lee’s story. Question. What was pointed at the Russians to make them buy their currency back?
PS. It astounds me that a country with a surplus and a net creditor to the rest of the world is suffering a credit squeeze due to the policies of it’s own reserve bank. See Dr Antal Fekete. I’m sure other comments above reflect this. (No time to read)
IDoes anybody know why there is such a huge discrepancy in presentation of international news by the Russian Federation? RT is mostly quite close to mainstream western coverage– except for Ukraine, which is obviously much better than MSM. New Eastern Outlook, journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences is incredibly outspoken about international news: Its writers openly state that the US continues to support ISIS, for example. Is the difference in these two Russian news bureaus tactical? The result of two different factions? –Penelope
