Yesterday, the EU published it’s newest list of individuals and companies included in its anti-Russian sanctions list. The latest list include Mikhail Fradkov, the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service SVR, Alexander Bortnikov, the Director of the Russian Federal Security Service FSB, Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council and Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Chechnia.
Previously, the EU had already “recognized” the outstanding service of Igor Sergun, the Commander of the Russian Military Intelligence Service (GRU) who was also included in its sanctions list. But what did Ramzan Kadyrov do to deserve to me included in such distinguished company? According to the EU, he
made statements in support of the illegal annexation of Crimea and in support of the armed insurgency in Ukraine. He stated inter alia on 14 June 2014 that he ‘will do anything to help revive Crimea’. In that context, he was awarded the medal for ‘the liberation of Crimea’ by the Acting Head of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea for the support he provided to the unlawful annexation of Crimea. In addition, on 1 June 2014 he expressed his readiness to send 74 000 Chechen volonteers to Ukraine if requested to do so.
The EU makes it sound like Kadyrov is guilty of nothing else but crimethink. But, of course, this is not quite true. We can all be sure that Kadyrov, just like the other four outstanding anti-Nazi heroes honored today, did much more to protect the culturally Russian people of the Ukraine from the ethnic cleansing policies of the junta in Kiev. Maybe he should get yet a second medal of “Hero of Russia”? :-)
As somebody who remembers the Cold War very well, who spent most of his life fighting against the KGB (in both my professional and private lives) and who remembers the truly satanic horrors of the wars in Chechnia, it is amazing to now see the heads of the Russian security and intelligence services being thus “honored” by the EU alongside the President of Chechnia. True, it is also sad for me to see how low Europe has fallen to sanction those who did the most to fight a illegal, racist and terrorist regime in Kiev. For seven decades the West European elites have passed all sorts of laws banning the free investigation of the “Holocaust” under penalty of incarceration, for seven decades they have been completely paranoid and looking for even minute signs of possible “neo-Fascism” in various right-wing parties and for seven decades they have solemnly nodded their heads in heartfelt agreement with the warning of Brecht “the belly where from the filthy beast came out is still fecund”. And now it turns that that this “belly” is them! Not only are the western democracies the belly from which the filthy beast came out, but ex-KGB types and former Chechen insurgents are now at the forefront of the struggle against this beast, and for self-determination, international law, human rights and freedom.
Amazing, no?
And does this not beg a disturbing and painful question for me and maybe many of you also: who/where was the real ‘Evil Empire’ in the 1983?

War Comes to Ukraine
Alexander J. Motyl in Foreign Affairs:
This week also saw a major escalation of Russian military involvement in Ukraine; in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 13, about 100 Russian armored personnel carriers and other vehicles crossed from Russia into Luhansk province in Ukraine. Unlike earlier Russian deployments into Crimea and eastern Ukraine, these carriers were openly adorned with Russian insignia and flags. The flow of Russian tanks and soldiers into the area has since continued, and Ukrainian authorities estimate that up to 400 additional “little green men” (a term coined during the Crimea invasion for Russian troops without insignia) have infiltrated into eastern Ukraine’s Donbas.” ?
Sincerely,
Mark Gaughan
This is not related to Kadyrov, but I hope you forgive me for being a little OT.
I should have posted this a couple of days ago. I look at comments in some threads and I am surprised. Do those who want Russian intervention really understand the consequencies?
This new conflict is a war fought on several fronts. Diplomatic, political, military, economic and not to forget in the media. Every escalation is dangerous and not only to Russia. Please keep that in mind. One small mistake can start a big war. One small mistake can force Russia to retaliate to the sanctions and hurt the EU economy. Perhaps also the global economy more than we realize. One small mistake and Russia must fight NATO in a proxy war taking place in a brothercountry, the worst of all places, and such a war can grow. Russia, which is still recovering, will suffer much. That is the whole idea behind NATO:s insane attacks. If Russia intervenes, it will be blamed not only for the situation in Ukraine, but also for the economic problems of some NATO countries. What we see is the “big game”, as it was called in the 19th century, a game continued by modern Western politicians with some deficiencies in the rational parts of their brains. It is a sign our “heads” are rotting before the bodies, us, start decomposing. This is no longer a 19th century world. The fish rots from the head, as the Russians say, and we are fish, the connotation of which some Christians of all Churches will understand. No, I am not Russian.
Russia has longterm plans on all fronts and must consider them all. Be thankful that Vladimir Putin sees the bigger picture. If he had been an unstable warmaker, we would already be in WW3 or WW4, depending on how you count. I wish I could guide Obama, Cameron and others through the wastelands of Europe and Russia after WW2. The ruins were still standing when my father visited Hamburg in 1953 and that is only one example of many. I was a child at the time. Whole villages in Russia were populated only by women and children. All the men were dead. I have a first hand account from one village in Northern Russia. Remember Warschau? Never ask for a big war.
I support Novorossiya. As some have already said, this is essentially a spiritual war manifesting itself on this earth. As Mohammad said in another thread, evil can only whisper evil, that is all it is allowed to do. Don’t listen to the whisper. When our heads start whispering about war, some of us in the body start thinking that is a good idea. When the Novorussiyans suffer, some of us want Russian intervention, without realizing that is also a whisper. Have some trust in one of the last statesmen of our time. And have trust in the Fisherman. Everybody will not understand this Christian reference, but many do understand how dangerous this summer is.
Yes. The Russian Federation will reserve armed intervention for the last resort – which will be an actual NATO threat of some kind. If we make it through the summer, or the next two years, without being reduced to a field of frozen glass, Putin will enter history as the saviour of world peace and Obama as the greatest threat to mankind since Hitler. Such cowards and traitors as Merkel will be dispensed with as necessary.

“who/where was the real ‘Evil Empire’ in the 1983?”
The banksters. Hoo else? Same as it always has been.
Can u do a post on just how many Polish soldiers were just sent? A brigade of 2000 would have to come from a particular base. Will this battle be changing more and more openly into one where ukrainians are barely involved?
Mark Gaughan, foreign affairs is the mouth piece of the washignton consensus CFR crowd so as far as “any truth to this?” really who cares, theyre talking their book which means slamming russia and getting hunter biden on the board of ukie gas companies.
as to what Motyl says and you re-posted, where is the proof? show me the pictures and footage of 400 russians marching into ukraine, show me dont tell me and parrot what the cia and the wh have told you to write about. show me the pictures of 100(!!! REALLY??) russian personnel carriers clearly crossing over from russia into Luhansk. and since this action supposedly took place 13 days ago on july 13th, where are all those troopers and military vehicles now?
the real question is why on earth would anyone waste time reading their shit rag?
do you need pointers? clues? clarification about the USA-NAZI nexus is doing?
otherwise, why read the cfr foreign affairs AGITPROP?
Let’s assume all those troops and military hardware did cross over into ukraine, in light of white phosphorous being used on civilians, bombing by the ukie nazi government of civilians’, homes, schools, hospitals etc,
is Russia supposed to just watch and turn a deaf ear to people asking for help that are being attacked by violent criminals set free from ukrainian jails because of massive desertions in the ukie military?
only the 2 faced obama would be amenable to such an outcome; decrying the people’s suffering while green lighting their deaths from above.
instead of getting caught up in what NAZI-US AGITPROP and wondering if there is any truth to something you see or read on the internet, try using your own reason and logic.
it is very clear where one should stand, supporting psychopathic jihadis is bad enough but fully propping up and supporting NAZIS is beyond the pale of expediency.
so Mark, let me make this simple for you, regardless of what you read or hear, ask yourself, whose side are you on?
the corporate NAZI-US nexus making a play for Ukrainian bond, energy and labor markets?
or the people trying to keep their lives, jobs and families intact?
understand that at least 300,000 people work in eastern ukraine. Eastern ukraine is the most industrialized and populous part of Ukraine. It is also in this area where there are large deposits of natural gas and oil.
As we speak the current Ukrainian government is speeding through fracking drill sites without consent of the local entities. France, germany and other euro countries have imposed a 7 year ban on fracking due to water well pollution concerns.
so its a little more complicated than “is there any truth to this?”
the NAZI-US corporate nexus wants nothing but to grab the enrgy and bond markets of the ukranian nation and then to impose structural “reforms” on the labor market so that a handful of connected financial elites can suck the country dry.
Already the current non-government has and will try again to impose IMF style wage controls on the people. wage control in combination with higher taxes on the people and cut benefits are advantageous to who? bond sellers and wall street period.
Foreign Affairs is worth a read i guess if you like being lied to, but now that you know, take what you read there with a huge spoon of salt truthiness.
this is not a spiritual fight nor is it about truth, this fight is about money, bare knuckles money and greed, period. The rotting western financial system needs ukranian blood as it needed cypriot and greek blood.

War Comes to Ukraine
Alexander J. Motyl in Foreign Affairs:
Mark, obviously I’m not Saker, but there are some rules of thumb you can use for judging Western articles about Ukraine:
1. Foreign Affairs is dominated by strong believers in the Neocon ideology. They do not challenge the official White House line and therefore it is useless to read their articles on Russia and Ukraine. Authoritarians do not check facts but instead automatically assume them to be true and propagandists know this.
2. Whenever “Russian military involvement in Ukraine” is mentioned, you can also stop reading. Putin’s past track record suggests that nothing of that sort will happen unless it’s in accordance with International Law. At the time of writing, there is no Russian military involvement, it’s just made up Euromaidan propaganda spew and not based on real life observations.
3. Whenever “Ukrainian authorities” are cited as a source of information in regard to Russia, you should stop reading. There is no “legitimate authority” in the Ukraine, but an unelected junta that seized power in a US-sponsored coup (the $ 5,000,000,000 revolution Nuland mentioned). Whatever comes from there is disinformation directly from the local CIA branch within the Kievan US-embassy.
4. There are no green men in the Ukraine and there has never been an invasion of Crimea, too. Nor were there a fake referendum at a barrel of a gun. Crimeans created their own revolution by getting organised quickly and in huge quantities and the referendum is a reflection of it.
The mentioned article scores on all four points, therefore it is little more than male bovine excrements.

The Russian government has finally realized that it has no Western “partners,” and is complaining bitterly about the propagandistic lies and disinformation issued without any evidence whatsoever against the Russian government by Washington, its European vassals, and presstitute media.
Perhaps the Russian government thought that only Iraq, Libya, Syria, China, and Edward Snowden would be subjected to Washington’s lies and demonization.
It was obvious enough that Russia would be next.
The Russian government and Europe need to look beyond Washington’s propaganda, because the reality is much worst.

The 1983 reference is to a speech by the consummate actor Ronald Reagan, a devout, paramount War Criminal. As a historian, the evidence certainly proves beyond doubt the Outlaw US Empire was and continues to be THE Evil Empire/Great Satan. Few people seem to understand that the CIA ran the office of the US President from 1981 to 1993, with the election of DCI George HW Bush first as Reagan’s minder then as President. Historically, the last US President who could be seen as being pacifist/non-imperialist was Hoover.
Chinese reporter’s impressions of Donetsk;encircled and isolated as war rages
http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/872660.shtml
After 16 hours of traveling, the train from Kiev pulled into the railway station in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, on Friday morning. Only a few people got off the train, which headed to Mariupol.
It was the third day after our arrival in Ukraine. The volatile security situation had been hampering the journey to Donetsk, which is at the heart of an ongoing conflict between the region’s self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Ukraine’s government forces.
The twists and turns started even before our arrival in Kiev after transiting in Moscow.
Our air ticket agent warned that Aeroflot said it could cancel the flight linking Moscow and Kiev at any minute. Luckily, that didn’t happen. But finding an interpreter in rebel-held Donetsk proved harder.
Almost all contacts in Ukraine told us that it is very dangerous now in Donetsk, where local residents have fled their home to seek refuge elsewhere. Potential interpreters approached by the Global Times said they wouldn’t go there. One of them was inclined to take the job, but was talked out of it by his family.
A blogger based in Donetsk also told the Global Times that the security situation there is complicated, and a journalist from Russia Today had reportedly lost contact.
Despite a cease-fire announced by the DPR earlier this week within a 40-kilometer radius of MH17’s crash site to grant safe access to international investigators, fighting around the encircled city was still intense.
While downtown Donetsk is considered to be relatively safe, a Kiev-based fixer warned the Global Times that no place in the city is “safe-safe.”
The airport to the city’s northwest is now controlled by Ukraine government forces, and is at the center of fighting.
The only safe passage to Donetsk is the railway, but on Monday a plant close to the station was shelled and led to casualties. Despite the attack, the railway service is still operating.
Delays caused by fighting have plagued the train route, lengthening the 10-hour trip from Kiev to up to 30 hours.
Our train arrived at the city’s rail station just two hours late. The morning was clear and peaceful, as locals ventured out near heavily-shelled buildings. But that peace doesn’t seem set to last.
Vera, a local guide who picked us up at the station, said only about 10 percent of Donetsk’s 1 million people remain in the city. The downtown area, formerly the site of daily traffic jams, had only a few people on the streets.
On Friday there were not many armed separatists seen in the city except at the former local government headquarters, now the DPR’s HQ, where several men in military uniforms and armed with AK-47s ran a checkpoint while another group maintained watch nearby.
Anon 14:01:
I really dont get your reference Evil Empire/ 1983?
Wow, that is just sad commentary on our media and education system.
“Evil Empire” is a phrase uttered by President Ronald Reagan in regard to the Soviet Union in a speech in 1983. It is one of the most famous speeches of the past 50 years.
“… to ignore the facts of history and the agressive impulses of an evil empire … the focus of evil in the modern world …”
As to Saker’s question, the Soviet Union’s retort at the time in the paraphrased words on Wikipedia that the US “was an imperlialist superpower seeking to dominate the entire world, and that the Soviet Union was fighting against it in the name of humanity” are in many ways the ones that have stood the test of time. Its not that Reagan was not right at the time in 1983, its that the Soviet’s were also right in their counter assessment and took the steps to make themselves right with their own internal evil, while the US since took the steps to make themselves wrong.
Anyone like me who can remember the America of 1983 is ashamed of what we have become in 2014, especially with the dramatic turn in attitudes and society between 1988 and 1994.
So is this it? Buzz for several days that Russia has been positioning troops by the border and now some press being asked to leave Donetsk for safety with rumors of pending Ukie offensive combined w polish troops…
Can’t believe that Russia will sit and let Donetsk fall.
False flag didn’t come off cleanly, Russia didn’t surrender yet so…

Saker,
We’ve never NOT been. Welsh, Scots, Irish, Native Americans, India-Indians and Afghanis knew that quite well long before the Crimean War. sigh. And I’m sure I forgot a few. But the point is, this is what we’ve always done, we just “improve” how we do it.
Andrew,
Your points are well-taken, but Mr. Nora and I are both deeply ashamed of what we had become by 1983; Reagan was hardly the only one at fault — plenty of Dems on that same page too — but he sure accelerated our decline.
The real question is: how do we stop this?

Vladimir Bukovksy, the 63-year old former Soviet dissident, fears that the European Union is on its way to becoming another Soviet Union. In a speech he delivered in Brussels last week Mr Bukovsky called the EU a “monster” that must be destroyed, the sooner the better, before it develops into a fullfledged totalitarian state.

Under the pretext of exporting democracy in these countries are killing civilians, women, the elderly, children, destroying the city, religious shrines. Directly responsible for everything that happens are the United States and the European Union “
“Today, I decided to create a sanctions list to include the U.S. President Barack Obama, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, European Parliament President Martin Schulz. The cold war should never have happened.
We Chinese have been watching Anglo-zionists rape, burn and loot for two thousand years. We knew they could not be trusted way before the 20th century.
In the 14th century our ships could carry more soldiers in their birds nests than could be held in Columbus’s entire fleet. We made the civilizational choice NOT to lay waste to the lands beyond our own. We closed our borders and became a hermit kingdom. For this we suffered 600 years of technological stagnation. Cultural superiority without the sustenance of military force equally held no power against the forces of the west, who had for the past 2000 years perfected the art of killing. For the past 300 years for this choice we have suffered.
But we have always had our karma and now we are becoming as strong as the west, catching up to the years history has taken away from us.
Let’s usher in a brave new world together.
nternational special forces are preparing to go to the Ukraine, perhaps as early as this weekend. A detachment of Australian SAS has arrived in the UK within the past 24 hours, Sky News has learned. If authorised, they will help secure the crash site of MH17 in eastern Ukraine along with international partners. They are currently working with British and Dutch special forces – all three nations lost citizens in the disaster.

Sounds to me like the US/Kiev side are using the MH17 crash as cover to insert foreign military into Novorossia. Now that the human remains are gone and the black boxes have been removed, what is the purpose of deliberately adding foreign troops to the site if not to secure a military foothold? If anything, adding foreign military on Novorussian soil will shift the crash investigation site into a more legitimate military target for the self defense forces.
Dutch commandos poised to leave for eastern Ukraine: Telegraaf
The Netherlands is poised to send its most elite soldiers to secure the crash site of Malaysian Airways MH17, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.
The paper says all leave for the commandos of the 11 Luchtmobiele Brigade based in Schaarsbergen and Assen has been cancelled and that soldiers will leave for eastern Ukraine this weekend.
In addition, Dutch special forces currently in Mali are being recalled and sent on to the area around Donetsk, the paper says, without quoting sources.
The aim of sending troops is to ensure the 23 Dutch crash investigators and 40 unarmed military police officers can do their job, the paper says.
Sounds to me like Kiev is using the flight investigation personnel as “human shields” …
The Pentagon and American intelligence agencies are developing plans that would enable the Obama administration to provide specific locations of surface-to-air missiles controlled by Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine so the Ukrainian government could target them for destruction, American officials said.

So we know that probably it’s already being done.
Previous sanctions on Iran had hurt EU economic growth, since trade is a two-way street, helping to slow EU GDP growth to 1.3%. These new sanctions, if enacted, might put it in negative territory. It would be a twofer for the US, slowing two major rival economies, Russia (3.8%) and EU, thus (relatively) aiding the US economy which (unlike EU) has little trade with Russia.
Sydney Herald, Jul 26
…Australia already has flagged the deployment ‘for no more than a few weeks’ of about 180 personnel – comprising 150 members of the Australian Federal Police and perhaps 30 members of the Australian Defense Force. And an additional 150 Australian officials are already in Europe, working remotely on the investigation.
The Dutch will lead the force with Britain, Germany and Malaysia also expected to send military and or police contingents for a total force that Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte reportedly estimated would number several hundreds.
In Western terminology “MH17 crash site” is synonymous with “Novorossiya.”
“Stabilizing” or “securing” it is synonymous to “restoring law and order” i.e. turning the area over to the Kiev junta.
The US along with Netherlands and Australia are using UNSC Resolution United Nations S/RES/2166(2014), Adopted by the Security Council at its 7221st meeting, on 21 July 2014, to support the sending of armed troops to “secure/stabilize the MH17 crash site.”
But the Resolution says nothing about foreign military forces securing the crash site.
“The Security Council . . .Supports efforts to establish a full, thorough and independent international investigation into the incident in accordance with international civil aviation guidelines;” …is what they are using to justify an “international security force.”
We are now waiting for direct US and NATO aggression on the Ukraine and Novorossiya. Russia needs to make the choice now; whether defend Novorossiya or allow total NATO occupation of the Ukraine.
It is clear that all NATO actions are aimed at provoking Russia to act militarily. This would allow the US to isolate Russia from its “International Community”. It is widely believed that this is a trap and Russia should not fall for it.
Yet other are saying that Putin has a cunning plan, and after two years of US occupation Russia would somehow magically turn the tide. Maybe
On the other hand, NATO very much wants all of Ukraine. They very much hope that Russia will not intervene and kill their troops. (Russkies killing Russkies is always a good thing.) They want to occupy Ukraine without any effort.
Russia is now between Scylla and Charybdis. Both alternatives are horrible. To decide Russia must resolve which is the outcome NATO wants – and chose the other.
Russia must understand that NATO is now the reincarnation of the Third Reich.

Andre Vltchek has a long and very interesting piece on Counterpunch this weekend, which sort of culminates in a section where he quotes the international lawyer Christopher Black (who has investigated genocides and crimes against humanity all over the world) …
Kiev and Washington also had the motive: to smear Russia and the anti-fascist forces and to provoke the EU to abandon its political and economic relations with Russia. It does not take a Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes to conclude the most likely suspects are in Kiev and Washington not in Donetsk and Moscow.
President Putin has insisted on an objective international investigation since the news broke while President Obama and his minions in Kiev have done nothing but call for the head of Putin. History shows that President Putin has insisted on adherence to international law and civilized behavior consistently throughout his terms in office. His integrity is unquestioned, whereas President Obama has been consistent in his calls for war, war and more war in every region of the globe and insists that the Americans are “exceptional” and above the law and judgment.
It may be that the results of an independent investigation of this tragic and terrible event will have consequences for the United States that are beyond its imaginings and that will erase any remaining influence or credit that it may still have in the world. They have committed many crimes. This may be the one crime too many.
… indeed. There’s also a section with an improved translation of General Kartapolov’s presentation last Monday. All in all, very recommended reading!
Seeing what’s been going on over the past couple of months and how much things have escalated since a comparatively small group of western organized and financed nazis took over the Kiev Maidan, I’m wondering what will be happening to all of us over the next 1,2,3 years? Will it be like this all over again? Or worse? What future does humanity have when it allows dangerous psychopaths and the scum of the planet to run its affairs?

Karl Rove is the author of the following golden quote:
We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors … and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.
If a future historian were to explain to his class what the US-Empire was about in its last years before the final collapse, that single quote is all you need to know.

US Administration Relies on Blatant Lies in Its Foreign Policy – Russian Foreign Ministry
http://en.ria.ru/russia/20140726/191313392/US-Administration-Relies-on-Blatant-Lies-in-Its-Foreign-Policy-.html
“MOSCOW, July 26 (RIA Novosti) – The US Administration relies on blatant lies in its foreign policy, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued Saturday.
“Judging by a relentless blackwashing campaign against Russia, launched by the US Administration, they more often rely on blatant lies while conducting its foreign policy. Take for instance new statements made by US president spokesperson Josh Earnest who blamed our country for the crash of the Malaysia Airlines plane in Ukraine,” the document reads.
“And it is now a common practice in Washington when no evidence nor even references to the facts are given as a confirmation, which we could have verified and commented on. All the White House says is limited to mentioning some ‘intelligence data’ that cannot be presented or, and this is totally absurd, ‘information from the social media’,” Russian Foreign Ministry said…”

Listening to BBC just now – bad for my health. Unrelenting BS, unbelievable. So there was a brief pause after the Russian data dump and presentation but now they are back at it as if nothing happened. Still presenting the fact-free assertions of US as unquestioned truth and going on about “what will it take to get Russia to change its behavior?”
Well, is there any kind of evidence the west would accept as proof of Russia’s innocence and allow assigning blame to the guilty parties? Seems not, actually.
I so want these smug-faced liars to have to eat their words.
There is a window of a few days until the ‘black box’ data could potentially be news. May be that the junta tries their best to take Donetsk before then.
Russian Investigators Come Under Targeted Fire from Ukraine
http://en.ria.ru/russia/20140725/191278046/Russian-Investigators-Come-Under-Targeted-Fire-from-Ukraine.html
“MOSCOW, July 25 (RIA Novosti) — A team of investigators from Russia’s Investigative Committee on Friday came under targeted mortar fire from the Ukrainian side of the border, the committee’s spokesman said.
The team arrived at the village of Primiussky in the Rostov region to investigate the previous shelling of the Russian territory from Ukraine.
“Apparently, only the poor training of Ukrainian soldiers and timely evacuation of investigators under cover of armored vehicles prevented the shooters from realizing their goal,” Markin said.
“A total of 47 mortar rounds, likely of the 82-mm caliber, were fired at the team. Another wave of 32 mortar rounds hit the same area later,” the official concluded.
Earlier this month, Moscow invited OSCE observers to assess the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border, which has been hit multiple times by the Ukrainian artillery and mortar fire. In the more recent incident, one civilian died and two more were injured in the Russian city of Donetsk in Rostov region bordering eastern Ukraine.
Moscow condemned the attacks, saying that such provocations could have irreversible consequences.”

peace takes two, for the war just the will of one
Walter C. Uhler on the plane crash, the “ATO” and what Western corporate media spins it to, including a reference to Saker’s vineyard:
This memo appeared on the website called The Vineyard of the Saker on July 25, 2014. It appears to be evidence indicating that Kiev’s military forces, fighting in eastern Ukraine, are on the verge of disintegration. Perhaps that explains why, as Natalia Zinets of the Independent.ie reported on July 22nd, “Ukraine’s parliament approved a presidential decree to call up more military reserves and men under 50 to fight rebels in eastern Ukraine and defend the border against a concentration of troops in Russia.
But, you can rest assured that this memo will not find its way into broadcasts by any of the major U.S. news networks or into the pages of the New York Times or the Washington Post. Yet, curiously, on July 24th the Post published an editorial titled, “If the West doesn’t do more for Ukraine now, it might soon be too late.” On the 25th the Times published an article stating that the Ukrainian government believes that it can defeat the separatists within 3 weeks or so, if Russia doesn’t get more involved. Such is the “fog of war.”

Ukraine votes to keep Western companies out of gas industry
http://rt.com/business/175508-ukraine-votes-western-naftogaz/
“Ukraine’s parliament has rejected allowing EU and US companies to buy up to 49 percent of oil and gas company Naftogaz, and also said they were against liquidating the national energy monopoly.
Kiev rejected splitting the company in two, a measure encouraged by the West in order for Naftogaz to comply with Europe’s third energy package, which doesn’t allow one single company to both produce and transport oil and gas.
Voting bloc dynamics changed on Thursday after the ruling coalition dissolved itself triggering an early parliamentary election after the government resigned.
Following the rejection of privatizing Naftogaz, Prime Minister Yatsenyuk announced his resignation as head of the government.”
I doubt Tel Aviv and New York are very pleased with this. They may have to regime change the Ukraine again. This time blatantly nazi without pretenses.

**Very** interesting comments in this piece at Colonel Cassad – what help the militias might be getting from the “military surplus store” across the border:
So, guys, literally 5 minutes ago I was smoking with a friend, who took his relatives from the checkpoint Donetsk-Izvarino on Thursday. He has several relatives among the militia, which accompanied his other relatives to the border, and then passed through with them for a while and then returned. The impressions after celebrating the meeting with them over a cup of tea are the following:
1. help is coming, this is also confirmed by the militia and the friend himself saw a huge pile of KAMAZ trucks, which ram towards the border, a part of them without license plates, a part are almost destroyed, a part – already very used.
2. the militia fighters themselves are well dressed and shod, they prefer no our new “digital” camp, but either the American “comic” or our old flora, because they say that everything burned out in the steppes and our “digital” is exposing them on the general background like a piece of shit in a sugar bowl.
3. instructors – yes, there are. No additional comments.
4. the Ukropian yelling regarding that they are being hammered from both sides of the border, to my huge surprise, are not just wild guesses of the cretin Tymchuk. As my friend understood it – this is about the neutral strip, i.e., the zero buffer zones on the border from which all of this is banging.
5. the mood, in principle, is decent among the guys. At least I didn’t notice any melancholy, everybody drank only to victory.
6. From our side the border is secure and the cops aren’t asleep – our helicopters with military maneuver groups are constantly passing through the air space, they go low on the border perimeter.
7. regarding the lack of mass involvement in the militia – according to the militia themselves – the more the Ukrops hammer at the mines, which are forced to shut down (the transformers are destroyed and the mines are off the grid), the more miner volunteers enter the ranks of the militia.
8. the overwhelming majority of the militia fighters are from Ukraine themselves.
9. The guys had a snack with American rations and were smoking the native cigarettes.
In general if briefly – this is it. I was especially pleased with points 3 and 4. Point 4 is decapitating in a good sense of this word.

How do you stop it? You need to campaign for a new democratic constitution based on Athenian principlesbwith direct legislation by the people and all representatives chosen by lot.
The media will continue to manufacture propaganda on behalf of Washington to blame Vladimir Putin and the Militias in East Ukraine for the Malaysian Airlines tragedy. For the US intelligence agencies to claim Russia “created the conditions” that lead to the tragedy in the first place is like the police blaming a victim of a crime who was just robbed at gunpoint for carrying his money. The MSM purposely forgot that it was Washington’s destabilization campaign which began with a $5 billion investment to US Ambassador and wife of Neoconservative Robert Kagan, Victoria Nuland to build “democratic institutions”, but the intention was to overthrow the democratically elected government of Viktor Yanukovych. Why would the Anti-Kiev Militias shoot down an airliner in the first place? Why would Russia back a move that would jeopardize their role in world affairs especially after they prevented Washington from starting a war against Syria? It would not serve any useful purpose even if it was to blame the Ukrainian government. Vladimir Putin and the Russian government are not madmen. The anti-Kiev resistance does not seek an open ended war with their compatriots. It is the Ukrainian coup government and its Washington puppet masters that seek war with Russia.

“And does this not beg a disturbing and painful question for me and maybe many of you also: who/where was the real ‘Evil Empire’ in the 1983?”
Saker,
You know my view, that the UK has been waging ‘Cold War” against Russia since the end of the Napoleonic Wars, with the US joining in the 1880s, all for imperial considerations.
In 1947, the USSR was a smoking, semi-depopulated ruin, having been subjected to a war of racial extermination waged with Teutonic thoroughness. And the Anglosphere initiated Cold War.
Detente in the 1970s was torpedoed by the intellectual fathers of today’s neocons, with young Wolfowitzes and Perles playing a supporting role. They then renewed Cold War under Reagan.
And now, we have Cold War between Russia and the Anglosphere.
And in each of the cases above, by the choice of the Anglosphere.
Nora:
Your points are well-taken, but Mr. Nora and I are both deeply ashamed of what we had become by 1983; Reagan was hardly the only one at fault — plenty of Dems on that same page too — but he sure accelerated our decline.
At every point over the past 100+ years when you stop and look back its always worse in the later period. So in 1983, things were much better in the US than they are now in terms of societal values and norms, and similarly in say 1962, 1940, 1912, etc.
And actually I would point out that Reagan was the last relatively normal person to be allowed to hold office in the US (from a small town, no Ivy League education), who shared the values of ordinary Americans. Since then has been nothing but a string of strange elitsts. From 1986 in Reykijavik with Gorbachev through 1989 there seemed like real hope for growing world peace with their joint inititatives apart from their advisers on radical disarmament and the growth of opennes and mutual understanding.
Then came “The New World Order”.

Special services of Norway on Thursday received information that in the coming days, the country may be subject to terrorist attack. In particular, senior analyst intelligence Norway Jon Hoffmann in an interview with a local TV station said that a group of people is directed from Syria “to commit a terrorist attack in the West”, adding that his goal terrorists “called specifically Norway.
Hoffmann however declined to give any other details. Former head of intelligence of Denmark stated that such messages, as a rule, are disinformation.”

A nuclear decimation of Europe would lead to the deaths of millions of citizens who aren’t involved in this. Including women and children. What are your thoughts on the sanctity of human life?
Also in that post at Colonel Cassad –
A massive mechanized convoy is on its way to the border [to Ukr from Russia] (APC with infantry on the armor, covered trucks, staff cars, various auxiliary equipment), which by preliminary estimates stretched over 10 kilometers.
An argument has been made that the plane, which crashed in east Ukraine, was the MH-370 plane, which disappeared over the Indian Ocean on March 8, 2014, when its last known path was pointing toward the US base Diego Garcia.
The argument made for this based on the identifications, and especially on the fact that the MH-370 like the wreckage in east Ukraine, does not have an extra window by the door–unlike the plane that was supposed to crash there–appears convincing. In addition, the Malaysian flag above the door and the windows of the MH-370 plane was not slanted the way the flag of the other Boeing was.
If the plane was swapped, it would only confirm how much time and planning is required to pull of such a complex and daring false flag operation. Moreover, it would also allow one essential thing–to temper with the black boxes and to have them pre-programmed as necessary and, in addition, to “prepare” the whole plane duly for the ensuing false flag attack.
The use of MH-370 and the false flag attack of MH-17 would also present the most parsimonious explanation for both these extraordinary incidents.

To 14:20 who said –“…As some have already said, this is essentially a spiritual war manifesting itself on this earth. As Mohammad said in another thread, evil can only whisper evil, that is all it is allowed to do. Don’t listen to the whisper…” — PRECISELY! The war is always waged from the point of consciousness. The desire to pick up a weapon and wreak havoc on ones neighbor or against mankind doesn’t heal the evil from within. You don’t solve the problem from INSIDE the problem. If all you see is chaos — then the solution is more chaos. But if you see order — which is another word for peace — then the outcome is peace. I’m constantly amazed and frankly impressed by Putin’s ability and discipline to make decisions OUTSIDE the problem. He never places himself INSIDE the turmoil. “The KOH is within.” So folks on here who are wishing for Putin to engage in more chaos are asking for hell on earth. I don’t wish that on anyone. And I absolutely don’t want it for myself or my loved-ones.
In terms of Reagan and his 1983 “evil empire” speech — its a bit disingenuous to dismiss it based on today’s reality. Most of us are here (on this site) because we believe Russia has MORE moral authority than the US. I wouldn’t necessary say that was true in 1983. Maybe. Maybe not. But it would be interesting to take the last 100 years — remove all influence of Zionists (including cause and effect) — and then review which “side” had more moral authority. My sense is that Russia and America — sans Zionist influences (i.e. Bolsheviks in Russia and Facists/NeoCons in US) — would be roughly equivalent in terms of moral authority.
What we keep trying to compare and parse on this site is evil for evil. Which evil is worse? It’s tiresome. Really. I’m exhausted by it. Because there is NO END to the degradation, deviancy and perversion of evil. Just as you think evil couldn’t possibly get worse — it does. It must double-down on itself to survive — and that’s the reason it ALWAYS implodes.
I don’t know if Reagan was right or wrong in 1983. I do know that his statement is wrong today. And I want to add to the TRUTH in the world — by affirming what is true and good — TODAY. And to consciously NOT accept the lies. About anything. Or anyone. That is something I can control. Not what Reagan said in 83. And not what I believed in 83.
I understand those who feel mistreated by the past. All one can do is change ones outlook for the future. To rehearse each and every past wrong doesn’t give us a way forward. It just manufactures tribal divisions and unhappiness.
I believe in the power of conscious good. And I’m awake to the lies which evil perpetuates. That’s all I know. I can do no other. So help me God.

Ukraine fights ‘foreign mercenaries’ in its east, says president
KIEV/DONETSK Ukraine (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Saturday his country was not fighting a civil war in its east but was fighting “foreign mercenaries”, hailing soldiers for forcing pro-Russian rebels out of several towns and cities.
As fighting raged around the rebel strongholds of Donetsk and Luhansk, the Ukrainian leader awarded members of the newly formed National Guard with medals for service.
“This is a real fight for the sovereignty of Ukraine, the territorial integrity of Ukraine, for the independence of Ukraine,” said Poroshenko, wearing military camouflage.
“It is not an internal conflict, it is Ukraine defending its territory from foreign mercenaries, from bandits and from terrorists,” he told soldiers.
Time is up. Tonight is the ‘NATO insertion’ phase, next week will be false flag terror in a European city. They will attack on other fronts, using Ukraine as a diversion.
Well said the voice from China, Charles Mondeley at 26 JULY, 2014 17:57
I think it’s important to take the large perspective on Ukraine because what’s happening is a large struggle being waged precisely on that scale.
As for the smaller events on the ground, I’m happy to hear all the good little successes that keep occurring.
I confess I don’t spend time with all this western propaganda being republished here – I know you study this stuff, Saker, but I simply don’t have the stomach for it, personally. I’ll be glad as the SitReps start flowing again.
As to propaganda, and especially to sister Nora’s plaint regarding how we stop it – again I think the larger struggle is where we are already beginning to see progress.
Fidel Castro has an article in Counterpunch this weekend, in which he provides his perspective on this larger struggle, and how the premiers of both Russia and now China have appeared in Latin America and swung mighty sword blows against the empire.
Worth a read, since who would know better than Castro how wicked the US has been? As he says in its title:
It is Time to Know a Little More About Realities
I’m gradually getting the words to say what I mean about Russia’s great war in the cause of truth right now, and how crucial it is. Every time a member of RF government calls one of the US government a “partner” a blow for freedom is struck – I know that’s hard to accept, let me try to say more.
I think when Putin calls everybody a partner, it just builds his power up for the day he may stop – why waste that power prematurely? To me it’s like Dirty Harry congenially asking the punk on the sidewalk if he feels lucky.
Being polite costs nothing, and on the dojo impeccability counts for a lot. I’m not a warrior so I only guess here, but I suggest that impeccability of method is both the cause and result of a calm mind – certainly the sign of it – and the fight is won thereafter by personal force.
BRICS alone contains 3 billion people. They all know that Russia is fighting for the truth, that Russia insists on the truth, that Vladimir Putin is fighting their fight for them, going to the mat for them.
Even though we see the game is rigged today, this is evolving quickly now, unceasingly into a far different situation coming relatively soon.
I’m saying that the fight Putin is fighting is not the one that can’t be won – i.e. against the current propaganda cloud – but the one that can be won – i.e. bonding and sharing strength with the multi-polar world outside of the hegemon.
And even so, the fight against the propaganda IS producing results. The false flags are losing their power, and this is a tremendous achievement. Each new ramped-up atrocity, far from being a setback, turns into a loss for the empire’s future power.
I’m sad to see many here suffer because this war against the hegemon itself seems to take so long. I want to say, try a bit of Chinese time, and rest your stomachs a little.
And glory in the triumphs of the fighters on the ground. Both struggles are being won.
“the more the Ukrops hammer at the mines, which are forced to shut down (the transformers are destroyed and the mines are off the grid), the more miner volunteers enter the ranks of the militia.”
Gayle this is a very important observation right from the ground, thanks for posting it.
for me it confirms the fact that because there are over 300,000 people working in the mining industries in eastern ukraine(owned by oligarchs just like massey in the US), the nazi government is making a purposeful mistake by trying to hit the miners and the mine owner(s).
under the eu-ukraine agreement, both the owner(s) and workers in the heavy industry sectors in that area would lose.
if you take away these guys jobs, their life style, family and bomb them and forbid their culture and language, theyre going to volunteer. I would.

@ Nora,
Q: The real question is: how do we stop this?
R: Stop voting. Don’t give anyone your support but you, yours and friends.
Espina,
Yes! But the groundwork had been laid well before that: Greenspan got his start under Nixon, and deregulation under Carter. Thatcher and Reagan were in a league of their own, however (quite nice to see her reputation being torn to shred with that pedophilia scandal; couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman, I don’t think).
I also think of this one a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O07VCaOj0bI (lots of words first; just scroll to 1:02)
Charles Mondeley,
Thank you deeply for every single word you said. George Orwell was more right than he knew with his “we have always been at war with Eastasia.” He just placed in a dystopian future rather than stating it as history. But your voice and Saker’s reveal often without even meaning to the chasm between the West (the Anglo-Zionist Empire and various satrapies being its apotheosis and, hopefully, soon-to-be endpoint) and, really, everywhere else. The Anglo-Zionist Empire doesn’t play well with others, and it certainly has never learned to share. At least nothing good.
The sell-off of the national gas system was opposed by the Communist party (and another group whose name I have forgotten) – which is why they have been outlawed. A new vote will return the desired result.
AGS,
Mr. Nora and I thought Reagan was absolutely full of it when he said it, and absolutely 100% wrong. We saw it as a combination of psychological projection (taking your own stuff and accusing someone else of it) and comic book demonization, and disliked intensely all of his domestic policy and a whole lot of his foreign policy. And we were hardly alone. As I said, Carter started deregulation but Reagan accelerated the pace exponentially, and it was pretty obvious at the time, if you were looking forward (pretty lonely too, bc most people weren’t. But it was right out there.)
Also, I don’t think it’s fair to compare Russia and the US unless you’re specifiying in what kind of way: in the past 100 years Russia was governed by Czars, Bolshevik dictators and now a parliamentary/presidential system and all three worked very differently both inside the country and out. We’ve gone from bad to worse, but it’s just been an evolution of the same two-party system — no real rupture or 100% change, like Russia suffered twice.
I don’t have any problem speaking out about the past or the present, as long as it’s part of an effort to understand and then figure out how to change it. Agreed entirely on the useless complaining part though: it’s a great way to avoid responsibility, and/or actually doing anything. But the divisions are only there if people don’t learn from the past and apply those lessons to the present; if a person insists on holding onto that stuff and staying right where they are, they’re as big a part of the problem as the people on top, bc that’s precisely how we enable them.
Daniel Rich,
No, I like the George Carlin approach just bc I like George Carlin but dropping out just means I can say I didn’t vote for the latest creep. That doesn’t fix anything — most people don’t vote. Not using bank cards etc. — 60 or 70% of the people did that, maybe. But none of those kinds of things done by 20 or 30% of the population would even get the Big Boyz’ attention. Just like going to a protest, you may feel better about yourself but you’re not doing a thing to bring about any change.

Donetsk is under very heavy bombardment and a north and south attack that might squeeze out the militia defenders.
Does anyone have a clue to where the “DNR” government goes if Donetsk falls?
And if it falls, the crash site will fall. And then, the issue is settled.
I am wondering if the help supposedly coming can reverse this outcome.
I am wondering if the Ukie attacking forces are coming into another trap.
What makes this all very dicey this weekend is the amount of planes reported flying over the entire region. It sounds as though there may be at least 15-20 SU’s up there over Lugansk and Donetsk.
Ukies have many drones also. And there was a very bad ambush of militia yesterday.
The Ukies may be down thousands of men, but they have all the equipment they need to keep the devastating attacks going and the encirclements of cities.
I have another question. Where are all the Ukranians in Donetsk running to? I know Russians from the Donbas are running to Russia. Are the hundreds of thousands who support Kiev creating an internal refugee problem?
And I have one last question about Putin?
Has a leader ever led his nation to security by being methodically honest and ultra legal when an enemy is attacking his country?
He seems to be building a case for a perfectly legal counter at some point. However, the hordes don’t care about legalisms. That’s crap they use to hang the losers. They will even make up ex post facto laws like Nuremberg after they win.
The American and NATO generals have no stomach for a fight. They like to pound a weakling.
Dempsey is a pansy general who talks tough but is against action unless it is stand-off bombardment by cruise missiles. American Air Force generals all love war. From high altitude while they are inside mountain bunkers. And the American infantry generals have not won a war since WWII. Odierno led most of the Iraq disaster. He’s Chief of Staff of the Army. Would have been a sergeant in WWII.
Know your enemy. The loses that have to be projected on the American and NATO military leadership is the key to the end of this military cycle in Ukraine.
You show them devastation in scale.
It is time to obliterate the Ukies in the field. The Southern Boiler is only a start.
The road to peace and security is thousands more dead Ukie soldiers and massive piles of burnt out tanks and BMPs. There is no substitute for victory.
“Once war is forced upon us, there is no other alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. War’s very object is victory, not prolonged indecision. In war there is no substitute for victory.”
General Douglas MacArthur, 1951
That was his farewell speech. The war went two more years until Eisenhower called the DPRK and told them nukes were for breakfast if they didn’t immediately sign the truce agreement. They signed immediately.
Putin needs to raise the stakes to nuclear and end the discussion.
Meanwhile, obliterate the Ukies. An olive branch in one hand, a nuke in the other. This is victory’s only road. They obviously don’t think he’d use them.

There is NO proof presented in the Rossia1 video that the Khodakovsky interview with Reuters was a fake. They only said that the Reuters video was cut together and that Khodokovsky a day later denied that he said what Reuters accuses him of.
Khodakovsky also said that he would post the original video, but so far I have NOT seen the original video, Rossia1 also hasn’t presented the original recording.
I’ve asked here twice that someone please post the original video, but nobody has posted it yet.
I can only conclude that the Reuters video is actually genuine and that Khodakovsky made a stupid mistake and should have paid better attention to what he was saying.
So I ask for a third time, if anyone knows where the original Khodakovsky-Reuters video is then please post a link.
It seems the Mossad is supplying mercenaries to massacre Russian supporters in Ukraine.
kolomoyskyi
‘The massacre was the work of the Dnipro Battalion, a new force of mostly foreign mercenaries drawn from Zionist-backed terrorists around the world and financed by Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoyskyi, a Jewish billionaire and banker.
The Ukrainian government had appointed Kolomoyskyi as governor of Dnipropetrovs’k, the same territory claimed by the Russian militias. According to statements made by Kolomoyskyi to The Wall Street Journal, Kolomoyskyi is spending $10 million a month to equip 2,000 men with heavy weapons.
Kolomoyskyi claims his troops are coming from Romania and Georgia, and that he has a waiting list of 20,000 men ready to fill the places of casualties.
But critics note that Kolomoyskyi’s “Romanian and Georgian” soldiers are really Mossad-trained agents.
…Kolomoyskyi is a bloody butcher in the tradition of Ukraine’s Soviet commissars and has raised money from pro-Israel groups to finance the assassination of Ukrainian officials that support Russia.
The role of Kolomoyskyi and his Zionist advisors in Eastern Ukraine parallels the role of Jews in the takeover of the country. While claiming to represent Ukrainian nationalism, Zionists have seized Ukraine, both as a part of a larger geopolitical conflict with Russia and to bring it into the slavery of the international banking system. The European Union and the United States have imposed a former World Bank official as Ukrainian prime minister and have moved to offer “loans,” to be paid for through financial restructuring and the orientation of the Ukrainian economy toward payments on perpetual debt.’
I am not sure if this has been posted in the past (MARCH 18, 2014, 11:34 PM)
Leaked report: Israel acknowledges Jews in fact Khazars; Secret plan for reverse migration to Ukraine
All Jews who wish to return would be welcomed back without condition as citizens, the more so if they take part in the promised infusion of massive Israeli military assistance, including troops, equipment, and construction of new bases. If the initial transfer works, other West Bank settlers would be encouraged to relocate to Ukraine, as well. After Ukraine, bolstered by this support, reestablishes control over all its territory, the current Autonomous Republic of Crimea would once again become an autonomous Jewish domain. The small-scale successor to the medieval empire of Khazaria (as the peninsula, too, was once known) would be called, in Yiddish, Chazerai.

Beautiful, kind of heart wrenching in a, was it all worth it way. I hadn’t heard it before, the lyrics reflecting the naive and idealistic belief in truth, justice and freedom are very poignant and thought provoking. Re G/span Nixon Carter etc, i suppose they inherited the anglo love of the long game when they got the full pirate empire gig.
Hope is my candle in a darkened room.

Угроза терактов и ввода войск НАТО (The threat of terrorist attacks and the entry of NATO troops)

“As flunked a personal and comment this video and requests propiarit it, then a separate post I give video Guryanov (recently escaped from the Kurginyan and has already http://cassad.net/tv/videos/497/16-2014/ to expose the Moscow provocateur) , where he warns of the high likelihood of terrorist attacks on the occupied territory of Ukraine. Terrorist attacks will be organized Avakov and Co, with a clear purpose blame everything on militias and the Russian Federation.
The reasons actually understandable. Despite all the screaming about terrorism, terrorism militias in any way do not wish, therefore they need help, staging a terrorist attack them, killing several dozen or even several hundred people independent of raplandii”. How and where, not so important, more importantly, the dead and bloody mess (arms, legs, killed children) for a sustainable information images on the basis of which you can deploy informational hysteria aimed at obtaining the desired effects. Enter NATO troops, this is one of the desired effects, which are now trying to create the necessary Foundation.
If to speak about probability, in my opinion, the situation on the part of the junta very critical, the provocation with “Boeing” has failed, so the obvious attempt to find new ground for provocations that should break the information war in favor of the junta and to facilitate the entry of NATO troops on Ukraine.
Speaking about the preparation of such provocations is necessary, then the junta was harder to dump the responsibility on militias or the Russian Federation. In these matters it is always better to be safe than to nedariit.”

@gbazov is saying that finally some help is coming through. If true, this is great news. It may be necessary to take Berlin, London, NYC and LA.
Happy July 26, Cuban revolution!
