The expectation is that tomorrow’s action in Venezuela will either spark a civil war, or a type of maidan, or a complete war to attempt to take-over and topple the Venezuelan elected government to institute Guaidó, or, in the best case, will fizzle into nothing and life will go on.
This morning Maria Zakarova in her briefing warned that provocation is planned for tomorrow, the 23rd. There are 2 actions planned, a Pro-Maduro or Pro-Free-Venezuela march on the Venezuelan side of the border. On the Colombian side of the border, an erstwhile type of live-aid (refer the Roger Waters video) organized by the unelected opposition and those that recognize Guaidó as president. The objective of the opposition is to force the USAid into Venezuela. These opposing groups will be only 300 meters apart.
Previously Maria Zakarova (on the 15th February) warned: “We have evidence that U.S. companies and their NATO allies are working on the issue of acquiring a large batch of weapons and ammunition in an Eastern European country for their subsequent transfer to Venezuelan opposition forces,” the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said. “The batch will reportedly include heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, portable missile launchers and ammunition for light weapons and artillery systems. So this is what they mean when they talk about delivering humanitarian aid.”
Russia has already delivered tons of medical supplies which Venezuela will pay for and other welcome aid is expected.

Let us kindly not make it a drive-by link shooting, but explain your link and why you think the information is valid, as we have seen much misinformation in the past week to either manufacture further consent, or to pretend that the Maduro military is wavering in their support to their constitution and their Commander in Chief. ‘Straight out of the Otpor playbook’: Venezuelan opposition gears up to fight soldiers with roses
https://www.rt.com/news/452262-venezuela-protest-roses-propaganda/
“Journalist Dan Cohen reported seeing truckloads of roses approaching the border on the Colombian side, where they will be handed out to protesters marching across the bridge to Venezuela.
“Straight out of the Gene Sharp/Otpor playbook,” noted independent journalist Max Blumenthal, referencing Sharp, author of several texts on media-friendly, non-violent revolution, and Otpor!, an American-sponsored anti-government protest group active in Serbia around the turn of the century.
Optics are important, and a coup attempt is an ugly thing. Perhaps a staged recreation of the iconic ‘Flower Power’ photograph is just what Guaido and his backers in Washington need.”

Horrifying VIDEOS show RAMMING at Simon Bolivar bridge in Venezuela
https://www.rt.com/news/452260-venezuela-bridge-ramming-video/
“Footage of the incident released by AFP shows two armored vehicles speeding towards the camera and a crowd of people running away to avoid being hit. The front vehicle then rams into the metal barrier. In the aftermath several people appear to be hurt, including a young woman covered in blood with an injury on her forehead.
There was much anger and confusion among the people endangered by the reckless driving.”

Of course, the movie Wag the Dog teaches us to look for market tie-ins. Look for a die-hard Trump supporter who will make money when the corporate media tells all the lemmings to wear yellow roses to support the killing of democracy.
And there’s got to be a song too!

Guys, can we stay on topic – this thread is for news on Venezuela. Thanks. Mod
Otpor morphed into CANVAS in 2004. In Georgia they became Kmara, in Ukraine Pora, and other aliases in other states targeted for regime change. In 2011 Wikileaks released hacked e-mails that showed that CANVAS did spying work for the Stratfor Western intelligence front group. And despite denials, CANVAS is financed by the US National Endowment for Democracy front-groups, USAID, the National Democratic Institute, the International Republican Institute and the Open Society thugs of the Zionazi grandee, Soros.

Or you could say that with all those roses cut for the occasion, Virgin Airways was”deflowered” and Sir Richard was caught in flagrante delicto screwing National Sovereignty on behalf of the New World Disorder.
What a surprise.
It’s called Human Compromise.
It could be that He Didn’t Start That Way, ……… but perhaps a trip to Epstein’s Island and a subtle hint to play ball and get his own version underway is how he lost his “political virginity”:and then decided to make light of his bad moral luck but great business luck by caaling every one of his companies Virgin this and Virgin that.
He even has an autobiography by the title:”Losing My Virginity”

From the RT Spanish minuto a minuto section.
https://actualidad.rt.com/actualidad/306445-minuto-minuto-tension-frontera-venezuela-convoy-humanitario
Maduro made a blistering speech to the crowds gathered in Caracas. I will defend this land to my death, he says. “I will not break!”
He also broke all diplomatic relations with Colombia and told Colombian Diplomatic Staff to get out within 24 hours.
Also, no attempts to ‘humanitarian aid’ from Brazil is being reported.
No han entrado cargamentos por Brasil
Por la frontera de Brasil con Venezuela no ha ingresado ningún cargamento de “ayuda humanitaria”, constató el corresponsal de Telesur en Brasil, André Vieira.
So, now to what seems to be filtering out (and I don’t know if it is rumor at the moment but it is a plausible tactic), is that they will attempt to ‘enter’ the aid by either surrounding the trucks with walking civilians or civilians will start physically carrying the boxes across the border. A plane load of roses (yellow roses) is being distributed to the civilian ‘walkers’.
I am not sure of this – but saw pics of the roses. So, anyone in the tropics will know .. roses don’t grow here.

Colombia is one of the largest growers of roses inthe world.
We need to keep track of the bridge crossing names: maybe and evidently a Gweedo supply truck caught fire ??? at bridge Francisco de Paula Santander. There are 3 bridges at the flash point Cucuta, Colombia –one is unused.
quote from Sputnik article
“The Bolivarian government is informing the population that, due to the grave and illegal threats from the government of Colombia to Venezuela’s peace and sovereignty, it was decided to fully temporarily close the bridges of Simon Bolivar, Santander and Union,” Delcy Rodriguez wrote on Twitter on Friday.
So the Gweedo truck on fire is on a closed bridge.
Here is the report from RT
https://www.rt.com/news/452271-aid-truck-burned-venezuela/
With respect to the time zones;
On the MSM German evening news they talked about some ‘quarrels’ at the borders. Yesterday they even mentioned that the famous blocked highway was not in service for years. Keeping in mind, that the MSM news here is about the ground zero of political correctness, this is amazing.
The upcoming divorce of Germany and the USA, painfully painted out at the last Munich Security Conference, is already showing it’s toll?
Interesting, and developing…
Cheers, Rob
Venezuelan Guaido supporting rebel forces have reportedly taken 35 Maduro military personelle as hostages. Tear gas and rubber bullets have been fired at rebel forces charging aid trucks bound from Colombia.
More details needed…around and about the Santander bridge? Ok we have a break in diplomatic relations and now perhaps, maybe an assault on Venezuelan soil or attempted assault.
Next a declaration of war? or not.
What are the benefits? Because international law kicks in, such as it is and however limply enforced, when there are formal steps made in war as well as in peace.
How do you know? What is your source?
I cannot expect credible reporting from here in Brazil, nor from Five Eyes countries.
Here’s a link to Five Eyes Canada coverage which shows the tear gas and rubber bullets. There’s like 10 stone-throwing rebels in baseball caps.
https://youtu.be/q4f4ZKiPPFo
Thanks, I saw the tear gas and guns shots in the video, and am seeing a lot of other reports about the use of rubber bullets.
I also noted the CBC “journalist” saying Guido is “fighting for the humanitarian aid” to be let in, but the “journalist” neglected to mention he is owned by the USG security mafia — as are all Five Eyes MSM “journalists” — which denied aid, via it’s vindictive sanctions for many years. The CBC is no more credible than CNN or the BBC, until it gives equal time to facts related to the manufacturing of the Venezuela crisis by the US, Canada’s general manager and owner. The CBC remains a vassal shill for Tio Sam, and its comprehensive analysis is neither comprehensive nor credible.
By the way, I think it important and relevant to note that it appears to be much safer to throw stones at Venezuelan soldiers than at Israeli soldiers; an aspect of this conflict that even Five Eyes “journalism” is unable to conceal from its consumers.
Or throwing stones at French (EurGenFor) mercenary forces, for that matter
Where it comes to pointing fingers at who’s driving this assault on Venezuela, my own dear Canada and our Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland must not be let off the hook:
http://canadianpatriot.org/british-deep-state-of-canada-caught-steering-venezuelan-coup/
Now these are scenes from another bridge -Simon Bolivar Bridge. Actually there were some interesting snippits of information to be gleaned from this, thanks for posting.
1.That there are armed popular ‘colectivos’ willing and ready to back up the border forces who seem to be doing a fine job on those rag-tag unorganized rioters. 2.The main push for now is at the other bridge–the Santander where one aid truck is happily burning away and rioters are busy working to “save” product ? on the second truck.
Also the bit about “anonymous sources in the army” unwilling to open fire on civilians was par for the course. They are not even thinking about crowd control which they do not even do in Venezuela–their minds are on the Colombian military and US special forces. They are scanning the skies, planning rear guard actions and probably preparing a protracted campaign of urban warfare in collaboration with those same mentioned ‘colectivos’.
The journalist was unclear, though, about who or what exactly the armed-with-long-guns-civilians-in-a-truck are supporting. He said his crew saw them on their trip back from the border to their hotel. Later in that interview, he says they are said to be pro-government militias but it’s clear he hasn’t confirmed that. I think the average viewer might have skeptical views about a bunch of guys with guns riding around in a truck during a riot. I don’t think they’d be assumed to be helpful patriots.
The citizen militias were, I have read, being armed with “world war two bolt-action rifles” Those are indeed “long”.
Respectfully — whatever Canada’s role in this may be, you are wildly misinterpreting this media coverage IMHO. Most viewers will know there’s some political disturbance in Venezuela and won’t know the internal details of Venezuela’s political situation. So they’re expecting images of political unrest. This coverage shows rioting but not some kind of political upheaval. Most people hate riots because it brings the ballcap wearing stone throwers and guys with weapons riding in trucks out into the streets. This could happen in any country. Like after a championship sports game. We all know politics can rile up this element of society, and it looks like that’s what’s happened here. And the tear gas was at a border crossing. (At one of Canada’s border crossings, you can expect to be treated badly if you tried a stunt like that. Injury quite likely, detention definite.) I don’t see how this calls for military intervention. It’s a law enforcement issue, and we all know it takes time to get these rioting folks back in the corral when they’re running wild and free. Americans may view this differently. Even the French don’t riot like this.

This is a 3rd Bridge incident supposedly this is around the bridge which has never been used and the lack of details is worrisome…that armed civilians are accosting the GNB ( I assume which are the security forces at the scene most active) on the Venezuelan side of the bridge.

here goes:
21.35GMT Maduro tells his consular employees in Colombia to get out ASAP and in no uncertain diplomatic terms.
22:33 GMT Bolton once again ( is this the 3rd or 2nd time ? ) directly and pointedly threatens the Venezuelan military with an ultimatum. Is it the ultimate ultimatum? or a semi-demi penultimate ultimatum?
If I understand correctly…GMT is 4 hours ahead of Venezuelan time which is in turn one hour ahead of USA Eastern time .? If US would just not use daylight savings time I might get it right some day.

US National Security Adviser John Bolton once again threatened Venezuela and the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) with more “sanctions” for preventing the passage of “humanitarian aid” ”
“The Venezuelan Army has a choice: embrace democracy, protect civilians and allow humanitarian aid, or face even more sanctions and isolation,” the official wrote on Twitter.

There are incidents of violence on the Venezuelan side of the Tienditas bridge, located in the municipality of Ureña, Táchira state. There are armed civilians who are facing the Venezuelan security forces.
Does this have disinformation written all over it or not? Or calm before the storm? Colombia is withdrawing the aid convoy after blaming the truck burning on the Santander bridge on bad-ol’ Dictator Maduro. Maybe someone pulled the plug on a faltering psche-op, but that would show intelligent life in the swamps of Looneylandia?
https://actualidad.rt.com/actualidad/306501-colombia-ordenar-regreso-camiones-ayuda-venezuela
A ship with “aid” from Puerto Rico was not allowed into Venezuela.
The right and the left hand don’t seem to know what they are doing:
Gweedo anounces aid has got to Venezuela:
http://tass.com/world/1046137
Then Colombian President over an hour later “orders” trucks back:
http://tass.com/world/1046145
When all else fails – send aid from Puerto Rico too – Venezuelan Navy has been sent out to intercept::
http://tass.com/world/1046142
So it is 8.30pm in Venezuela now and RT reports that Colombia ordered the return of trucks with “humanitarian aid” heading to Venezuela.
With no more diplomatic relations, it changes things somewhat I would think.
Maduro in a kind of a mocking tone, challenged Guiadó to come fight it out at the ballot box.
One can almost sarcastically craft a headline: “Guiadó misses his first election promise to bring US Aid into Venezuela.”
So far stone throwing, one real violent incident, no aid trucks into Venezuela on the 23rd, somehow the hegemon is still issuing threats only.and I would think overall – Advantage Maduro. Tomorrow a concert in Caracas.
Not too bad. I can vision Bolton’s mustache quivering.
This is indirectly about Venezuela because it shows the depth of disdain for this neocon cabal in charge of the Venezuelan regime change. Even NPR has a clue–a faint one but a clue nonetheless. And the WSJ, well, they are just embarrassed by the hamhandedness of it all.

Here at Tienditas, the momentum of this morning seems to have fizzled out. A couple dozen reporters are milling around and Juan Guaidó is nowhere to be seen. pic.twitter.com/RDFRKDzfLR
Yesterday pro-coup correspondents were assuring us that Guaidó would lead a “human wave” across Tienditas. Guaidó left hours ago and there’s not a protester in sight.
My producer and I overheard Colombian cops, soldiers and private security chatting about the situation with Venezuela. One says the Colombian army should “dar plomo” (open fire). Another says a suicide bomber should deliver humanitarian aid to Maduro.
Keep in mind, the previous tweet is chatter from bored cops and soldiers at the Tienditas bridge where little happened today. But it reflects the prevalent mindset.

Its called War on Democracy .
Highly recommend!
If there are S-300 batteries in Venezuela, and apparently there are three, I don’t hold out much hope for the “opposition”. A lot depends on the Chinese, but they’re not going to vote for war against Venezuela in the Security Council, and if they could pony up some real aid, which I believe they are doing, this not going to go well for Bolton et al.
In fact, their only hope is that the American people will rise as one and demand we invade Venezuela. That’s what this is all about. Convincing Americans we must invade. I doubt it can be done. We shall see. They won’t have much air support.

“US Envoy Elliott Abrams Heads to Colombia to Oversee Aid Delegation”
https://news.antiwar.com/2019/02/22/us-envoy-elliott-abrams-heads-to-colombia-to-oversee-aid-delegation/
It looks like it is really happening:
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States “will take action” as he condemned violence perpetrated by Maduro’s “thugs.”
Much is made of the US humanitarian aid ‘desperately needed’ (questionable) and prevented from entering Venezuela by Maduro. 191 tons so far sttuck on the Colombian border is what I read.
“Food and medicine for Venezuela’s sick and famished citizens lie just beyond their reach…”

Contrast this 191 tons (minus that one flaming Bolton’s biscuit truck on the bridge) with 1,233 tons already delivered by the countries below:
“Another item of information that is sorely missing from the mainstream media is the delivery last week of 933 tons of food and medicines at port La Guaira — coming from China, Cuba, India, Turkey etc.”
Moreover an additional 300 tons of medicines and medical supplies provided by Russia arrived by air.”

‘Embrace democracy, Venezuela!’ Bolton threatens new sanctions, Pompeo vows ‘action’
https://www.rt.com/usa/452277-bolton-pompeo-venezuela-democracy/
“Undeterred, US officials have doubled down on regime change rhetoric.
Pompeo also called Maduro a “sick tyrant” for stopping trucks filled with aid, posted images of burning vehicles on the border bridge and appeared to endorse claims by Guaido supporters that the trucks were set on fire by Venezuelan security forces. There was no evidence to back that claim, however. The trucks had never crossed into Venezuela, and caught fire on the Colombia side of the bridge, where they had been surrounded by opposition activists.
Just over two dozen Venezuelan military and security personnel actually defected to the rebels on Saturday, according to another Guaido cheerleader, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida).”
Sounds like the zionazi-[very]gay quisling rubio is the source for the claims of captured Venezuelan cops. The zionazi queen is also making personal Jewish mafia sort of threats:
“On Thursday, Rubio insinuated that the US would be targeting the family of Ivan Hernandez, commander of Maduro’s presidential guard: “You should think very carefully about the actions you take over the next few days in Venezuela. Because…”
“… your actions will determine how you spend the rest of your life. Do you really want to be more loyal to Maduro than to your own family?”
Looks like guano guido will be staying outside Venezuela, probably wont return unless handcuffed or in a box, and will play mascot for the zionazi-gay coup regime in exile. Probably in that zionazi-gay “paradise” called florida.
7:30 AM. Four members of the Venezuelan National Guard defected to the Colombian side.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVUG1DcpMcw
At the end of the day, a total of 61 members of the Venezuelan armed forces defected to Colombia at different points along the border. Defections are expected to increase in the next hours.
Saw that too, but did not believe a damn of it : too expected and uncheck-able, propaganda.
It could well be true, look at how many diplomats based in the USA have declared their support for Guaido. You have to keep in mind two things:
1) Venezuela is in a devastating economic crisis
2) The biggest weapon of the AngloZionists has always been corruption.
So there you have it.
Besides,
4, 10, 61 or even 100 or 500 defectors mean very little when the full size of the Venezuelan military is about 350’000.
also
4, 10, 61 or even 100 or 500 defectors mean very little if they are grunts and general cannon fodder. As long as the elite forces remain loyal to Maduro, then these defections are, of course, sad and disgusting for us, and a great deal of comfort for the enemies of Venezuela. But other than that – nothing depends on this and this is really irrelevant.
The real risk is a sudden collapse of the military, and I don’t see any signs of that as of right now (Feb23 23:50)

I think it is psywar/propaganda as well. The only serious evidence I’ve seen so far of defections were the 3 who tried driving a couple of armoured vehicles through a border barrier. Considering rubio is making these other defection claims, I give them zero chance of being fact. Rubio is at the very bottom of the zionazi-gay evolutionary ladder, a likud extremist quisling who has zero credibility. Even less than that of mccain. :-D
‘PR stunt to justify intervention in Venezuela’: Experts slam US regime change ‘gangsterism’
https://www.rt.com/news/452274-venezuela-us-intervention-gangsterism/
“This is an attempt to set out a pretext for some kind of intervention,” political analyst and journalist John Wight told RT. “The Red Cross and all the other international aid agencies are refusing to touch this because they know that this is a Trojan horse, deployed to try to foment the kind of scenes we’re seeing at the border.”
“Does anybody really think that Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, John Bolton Elliott Abrams care one bit about the welfare of the Venezuelan people?” he wondered, rhetorically. “These are thugs in tailored suits whose views are far closer to Al Capone than to Thomas Jefferson.”
“This is gangsterism masquerading as statecraft.”
That’s insulting to Capone. Abrams is more of a cut-rate Heydrich, without the intelligence or charisma.

A note from Roger:
Here’s a message I sent to teleSUR, a Venezuelan TV station, sorry about the crappy subtitles it’s the best Facebook can do.
Good morning. My name is Roger Waters. I’m in Europe and today is the day of action. It is the 23rd of February, 2019.
There is a story here. It’s about Venezuela. In 1998 after the Venezuelan people democratically elected a socialist government, the government nationalized the oil industry that is maybe, where the story starts.
This did not go down well in the corridors of power. So four years later, aided and abetted by the US government, there was an attempted coup to remove Hugo Chavez who was the President of the country then. The coup failed. It lasted two days. There was an enormous uprising of protest from the people of Venezuela in the streets who demanded the return of the President so he was reinstated after two days. That was in 2002, so what to do next.
Well, what the United States did was, Obama declared that Venezuela was a strategic threat to the United States and they imposed economic sanctions and a blockade through banking systems of the country 16 years later. Those illegal sanctions have borne the fruit that the US required them to bear. They want it to, for it meant dissent in the country by destroying the economy and by encouraging inflation and they have achieved that in various dissent without question in Venezuela. People are leaving Venezuela. Life is hard in Venezuela, particularly for poor people, mainly because of the inflation. It’s a lie that there’s no food, that’s just wrong. There is tons of food, but it’s too expensive for people to buy so they’re having another goal at a coup, right now the groomed a puppet, his name’s Guaidó or something like that and they’ve been grooming him for 10 years. It’s very well documented so now he is meeting with his puppet masters who are on the other end of the bridge in the country of Colombia with a big line of C130 American military transport planes pretending that they are coming as saviors to save Venezuela from a crisis created by the current government.
This is absolute nonsense of course it is absolutely charade in order for them to achieve what they try to achieve in 2002 and failed in regime change, because that government back in 1998, did something unthinkable to an abandoned American administration. It took the revenue from the oil industry and distributed it to all the Venezuelan people in social programs. Even the poor people… giving money to poor people. Because this is the main thrust of what I’m speaking to you today, but I am running out of time. I have a message for the puppet and for his masters from Washington DC… hands off Venezuela. What you are doing is immoral and illegal.
We support you, people of Venezuela, millions of this, all over the world. Millions, despite what you might read in the newspapers, we love you. We each wish you well, history will probably show that socialism in Venezuela was a light shining for the way we should possibly organize politics in the rest of the world. All right, we’re with you.
EVERYBODY:
Eva Golinger is well informed. This is her tweeter: https://mobile.twitter.com/evagolinger
Might be worth following it for the next couple of days.
The Saker
On her twitter this gem from the fake president> Los acontecimientos de hoy me obligan a tomar una decisión: plantear a la Comunidad Internacional de manera formal que debemos tener abiertas todas las opciones para lograr la liberación de esta Patria que lucha y seguirá luchando.
that’s to say “Today’s events force me to make a decision: to pose to the international community in a formal way that we must have all options open to achieve the liberation of this country that is fighting and will continue to fight.”
see https://mobile.twitter.com/evagolinger/status/1099502935116050432
(sounds like the oplan is to go to the UN…and get an authorization for the use of force. I don’t think that dog’s gunna hunt. And such a plan seems silly, so it may be all a script that’s frozen, non-adaptive.)
When the navy was spoken of here I looked it up on wiki …nice ships.
Fascinating that Guaidó is still taken seriously as able to give any orders at all. Or do he and the gang behind him think we’ve all forgotten that the Constitutional figleaf for his “authority” in Article 233 specifies he can serve for at most 30 days? His US-nudged self-appointment was on January 23 — and since January has 31 days, the 30th and last day Guaidó could have even that claim to be president was February 22.
Human Rights Watch is performing its usual role as a peddler of American propaganda against yet another the USA is threatening to militarily attack–in this case, Venezuela:
Human Rights Watch Appears to Be a Propaganda Organization
https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2019/02/23/human-rights-watch-appears-to-be-a-propaganda-organization/
Disgusting, but unsurprising for Human Rights Watch.
‘Human Rights Watch’ is precisely the type of organisation that you would expect of one run by those famous experts on ‘human rights’-New York Zionazis and their Sabbat Goy stooges. As is that US State Department front organisation ‘Amnesty International’.
Cut’n’Paste from SyrianPerspective (We are all Venezuelans now!):
“Canthama #287537
First major PR day for the coup in Venezuela ended up in total fiasco:
1) 24 supposed military defected to Guaidó at the border with Colombia, initially presented as Military Officers and latter shared they were 19 militias and 5 low ranking from different areas of the Venezuelan Armed Forces. Guaidó was filmed receiving those traitors as if the army was defecting in drove.
2) Guaidó was caught lying life on CNN when he sent a tweet celebrating the one truck that crossed the border from Brazil to Venezuela, and the CNN guy was watching the truck just in front of him far from Venezuela and the 2nd one broken on the road far from there as well. That was a very bad publicity.
3) No truck crossed any border today.
4) Guaidó’s gang burned two truck inside Colombia and filmed as if Venezuelan armed forces had done it, that was so amateur that they could film the border with Venezuela 200 meters away from where they were. Pathetic and very poorly executed.
5) Last but least, the early morning concert was another fiasco, some 5,000 people on the side of Colombia watching that show while on the Venezuelan side of the border with a lot of people, at least 10-15X the amount on the other side of the border, the picture captured by a drone is telling.
Of course the global MSM will put it as a major victory for Guaidó and how bad is Maduro…blah blah, but on the ground, today, it has shown that it ain’t be easy to implement its criminal regime change in Venezuela.
Welcome to Latin America, the US will have a hard time to implement any of its sh•t here.”
[PS Canthama’s “sh.t” word reminds me of a remark attributed to President Putin:
“How does a POTU$A play chess? Like a pigeon: pecks around knocking over the pieces, struts around sh.tting all over the board then declares victory then flies off — to repeat the performance somewhere else.”]
Looks like a big bunch of nothing. Certainly it is no coup – coups only work when it is a done deal and the military is onboard. The neocons in the US are not of the calibre of the cold war goons that brought the world Pinochet. If the best provocation that the zionists can come up with is trying to ram a so called aid convoy across the border – they have hit rock bottom.
But what can you expect from the occultists and their mentaly retarded US toadies? It really is amatuer hour in the future 2019.
Gweedo is the best that the marketing boys in New York could come with? Welcome to the new world where the zionists have run of nazis’ who knew what they were doing. Now zionist HR has to go out and hire from identity politics central casting. Even the moderate head choppers have bailed on the South American party.
Maybe the US could try a D-Day style landing with an army of trannies screaming and triggered vegans lead by the clinton witch. Gluten free of course and not one proper villan among them.
Reaction to sanders promoting the regime changer’s nonsense.
Et tu, Bernie? Sanders shamed for joining US hawks in Venezuela regime change push
https://www.rt.com/usa/452276-bernie-sanders-venezuela-regime-change/
“Bernie, are you f-ing kidding me! if you buy the Trump, Bolton, Abrams, Rubio line, “humanitarian intervention” and collude in the destruction of Venezuela, you cannot be credible candidate for President of the USA. Or, maybe you can, maybe you’re the perfect stooge for the 1 %.
— Roger Waters (@rogerwaters) February 23, 2019”
“A sad commentary on US politics that the country’s most prominent self-proclaimed socialist feels compelled to feed into an interventionist narrative crafted by the Trump administration.
— Max Blumenthal (@MaxBlumenthal) February 23, 2019”
Vote Tulsi above said the regime changers’ “only hope is that the American people will rise as one and demand we invade Venezuela.” Judging from the comments from Zero Hedge’s rather conservative readers, plus the silence my liberal relatives have fallen into the past few days, probably indicative of shame after Bernie Sanders pointed out some obvious things, there would be very little support for any military action, overt or covert, and only moderate support for continued economic pressure, which I think will continue because people just don’t pay any attention to that. It will be important to expose covert actions as they occur.
The most important thing about economic sanctions is to point out that they do nothing to the governmental structure of the country and only affect the populace… with whom we claim to have no argument.
WOW! This is big:
Part of the fake aid that the AZE (AngloZionist Empire) is trying to force into Venezuela is composed of… smartphones !!!
They were specifically made in Talmudia by a ziocompany called: Solarin. And are completely backdoored in hardware, firmware & software to be controlled by military zioagencies. They will be used by infiltraitors in Venezuela to mark the targets to be attacked by the zioforces and to spy on the persons that are critical to the defense of Venezuela.
The article also mentions that part of the invading zioforces will be in fact Latino mercenaries (so sad and so infuriating!). So the Khazarians are indeed doubling down. Latinoamérica is not allowed to shed the zioyoke: 200 years of invasions, coups, theft, murder and oppression. How much more do we have to suffer?

I read this article with Google translate.
To me it is really very scary.
It seems too easy to slide these murderous weaponized devices into Venezuela or anyplace else to sow confusion and wreak havoc.
Seems like maybe Ven needs to pass a law of some kind that sanctions any products made by this company entering the country.
It must be possible to create an electronic “sniffer” that can sniff these things out so that they can be destroyed. Who has given this Israeli company the contract to manufacture these things? Are American taxpayers paying for this?
Katherine (tech ignoramus)
Excellent find. A week ago the zionazi-gays got caught trying to slip arms and equipment by air to a Venezuelan air port. Cell phones and other electronic devices were part of the cargo. I didn’t translate the article, maybe a Spanish speaker could post a translation.
This whole pathetic, miserable stunt is a huge backhanded compliment to the quote below, attributed to Karl Rove:
Verdict: Very true indeed! Only problem here is that you are history’s silliest actors. Self-worship, sloppiness, and stupidity certainly work in the US, less so abroad. For the next act, why not let Shitsvili try to get some beautiful ties into Venezuela while delivering an irate speech about the illegal annexation of Crimea by Dictator Maduro’s puppet master?
Maritime Sitrep from Nat South
Hello everyone,
The unfolding events connected to Venezuela are worrying, so I took the opportunity to scribble a quick sitrep on some intriguing goings-ons.
Taking a quick look around the maritime context of what is going on in Venezuela: two aspects to consider:
1. Military operations
2. Humanitarian aid
The first to note is the long-standing US military presence in the Caribbean, under the framework of fighting the drugs trade, (US Navy and USCG mainly with supporting air assets). This is under the remit of SOUTHCOM who “ready for anything in Venezuela” https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/venezuela/article226521110.html
I am not going to dwell too much on this US military aspect, other to say that any possible US naval force would be spearheaded by the USS Abraham Lincoln, (CVN 72) currently off the US east coast along with numerous destroyers in the Atlantic Ocean. It has been there training on and off (COMPTUEX and JTFEX) for several weeks now, prior to deployment scheduled to be the Mediterranean and Gulf regions.
US military are regular visitors to the regions but have become understandably more noticeable of late due to the attentiveness of digital plane spotters, these include cargo, helicopters, but of particular interest are the USAF RC 135 off the Venezuelan coast and USN P-8s operations in the region.
https://twitter.com/aircraftspots/status/1099448241668517890
I want to highlight this above tweet, because it fits into something intriguing. As reported by BBC Mundo, US humanitarian aid has also been despatched by sea. The location of the RC-135 is roughly where the US-backed ere an ex-Offshore Supply Ship (OSV), now regional RO-RO cargo ship was last seen on AIS.
One Venezuelan ‘aid ship’ left Puerto Rico, the ‘Midnight Dream’, https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-america-latina-47325877 while the MSM also mentions another ‘aid ship’ off Curacao. The cargo from the ‘Midnight Dream’ was offloaded in Puerto Rico to be flown out to Curacao. The authorities there blocked the cargo from being loaded on the ship, the Vanuatu-flagged ‘Midnight Stone’ on security grounds. (Note to self Why the sudden rush to transfer the cargo as belatedly reported by the BBC)
https://news.yahoo.com/curacao-blocks-venezuela-aid-ship-cargo-captain-224946207.html
A well-coordinated plan is being rolled out on all fronts, with the timing of the ‘aid’ concert as an important element to draw the focus of the MSM. A series of potential flashpoints on the terrestrial and maritime borders is being readied and prepared. The potential to trigger a maritime confrontation is increasing, but more so the vocal calls for naval intervention. Another tripwire in the arsenal of projects being implemented by the state and private backers of Guaido. The latest headline to be projected into the public glare is: “Venezuela navy threatened to open fire on US-financed aid ship”. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/venezuela-navy-threatened-to-open-fire-on-u-s-financed-aid-ship-puerto-ricos-governor-says/
(Where have we seen this before, the US using a ship as a bait as a pretext for starting military intervention). Here’s a tweet from a Costa Rican journalist onboard: https://twitter.com/jestevest2/status/1099468589294342144 (Errr.. there’s no aid onboard the ‘Midnight Dream’ apparently).
So this leaves with the ship with the cargo in Bonaire trying to get to Puerto Cabello: ‘Midnight Stone”. Smoke and mirrors.. https://twitter.com/christianveron/status/1099430737026125825
Ship sent from Puerto Rico … #BarcoPuertoRico is the tending hashtag, actually sailed from Curacao (or not?)… called’ Midnight ‘Stone’ and also called ‘Midnight Dream’ by media and journalists. Are you still following?
The press release from the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, is rather telling as it implies the ship sailed from Puerto Rico to Venezuela https://twitter.com/ricardorossello/status/1099443322609909760
(Puerto Rico has its own lingering humanitarian problems to deal with resulting from a certain catastrophic and deadly hurricane ‘Maria’ but hey… best to send aid to elsewhere for political regime-change reasons).
Not surprises to see today on social media calls for the US Navy to ‘protect’ such vessels delivering aid to Venezuela. A lot of messages imply that it is a US-flagged ship, when it is clearly not the case.
What is interesting about this class of ships is that there several of them, old ships (therefore expendable), same matching company livery, with easy roll-on roll-off capability, requiring little port infrastructure and only needing shallow ports too. http://www.bluewatermaritime.com/ships
The Vanuatu-flagged ‘Midnight Dream” made recent port calls to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) port Road Town, which just happens to be where Necker Island is, Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise. Its latest reported position on twitter is in Guayanila, in Puerto Rico. Yet MarineTraffic AIS has it as being in BVI. Handy to have a fleet of similar coloured ships floating around the Caribbean. Confusing and this is part of the plan.
To sum up: one heck of a PR wheeze going on under our noses.
More on this in the next couple of days
I am going to update maritime info as needed here https://natsouth.livejournal.com/12110.html
Certainly the aid ship was a poorly conceived PR stunt.
NS
Thanks. The freakshow is obviously trying to slip in “insurgency aide” through any way they can. One wonders what they have been moving through sparsely populated, rural and wilderness regions.
I took a look at some sources that I never read, just to see how bad the propaganda machine is. Well, it is bad.
Infowars – all blame on socialism. It is all socialism singing from Trump’s new hymnbook. MAGA has been replaced by making the “First Free Hemisphere in the world ever” – which is Trump’s new MAGA according to his speech in Florida.
Breitbart – all blame and focus on those damn democrats. Focusing on a headline of “Two Killed, 18 Injured in Venezuela Border Clashes”, and not saying who what where and when at all, they had a fairly fair timeline, excepting for stuff like this:
“2:30 p.m.
Venezuelans are rushing to rescue boxes of emergency food and medicine from burning trucks stalled on a bridge to Colombia.
A large black cloud hung over the Francisco de Paula Santander bridge as protesters passed the boxes by hand and removed them from the blazing vehicles.
Fernando Flores, an eyewitness who described himself as a lawmaker from Ecuador, said national guardsmen acting under orders from Nicolas Maduro had torched the trucks once they crossed into Venezuelan territory.
Maduro has vowed to block any aid shipments, considering them a “Trojan horse” intended to pave the way for foreign military intervention. ”
Now to say that it was Venezuelans that carried the aid off the burning truck is at worst an obscene lie or at best a twist on the reality, as can be see clearly from the next report. This truck was clearly on the bridge on the Colombian side of the border. That truck may have been weaponized and the bang that was planned to take place on the Venezuelan side, actually set the truck on fire on the Colombian side.
Then, I went to check CNN and they are milking the weewee out of one burning truck. This was actually worthwhile to check just to see the derangement. With their footage one can clearly see the truck on the Colombian side of the border, with the Venezuelans behind the line of the armed forces. Then the reporter went to on to try and talk to the Venezuelan armed forces line and of course they refused to talk to him and he tried to make it to be that they are scared – made a big thing out of they are scared because their paycheck depends on them not talking. So, there you have the propaganda. The reporter made a big deal of the Venezuelan forces line dropping their shields for a little while while the opposition were very close, face to face with the line. He made it out to be a massive act of solidarity, while it was simply that they were not scared and in that moment showed that they are not there to harm the opposition. Most of these were Colombians and Venezuelans coming to work for the day.
This report one is actually worth while to look at critically, as The Saker says, “a diagnostic tool” . Billy Goat Clinton of course is with Guaidó.
https://edition.cnn.com/2019/02/24/americas/venezuela-pompeo-maduro-colombia/index.html
So, my question is, we all see the blatant attempt at regime change operation — perhaps during the runup to the Iraq war for example, the American people were eyeblinded. How is it in the US from you all with your boots on the ground? Are the American people seeing this? or are they still in the main eyeblinded? Any reliable links from the US side?
Caitlin Johnston has her opinion on my question of course with many adult words:
https://medium.com/@caityjohnstone/anyone-buying-this-venezuela-bullshit-is-a-complete-fucking-moron-5cff6b5b2af8
twitterfeed CPUSA https://mobile.twitter.com/communistsusa includes tweets from Rubio, which show the rhetorical spin is to speak of the citizen militia of Venezuela as “gangs” ergo criminals, ergo fair game, as under Geneva Law citizen militia are entitled to the protection of the Laws of War, while criminal gangs are not…this implies the Imperial Forces intend to massacre them.
Re: Who in the USA is buying this BS?
There are a lot of Very Well Educated people who do not question what they read in the NYT, the WaPo, and the Economist. They do not delve further. Because they are Well Educated, they really believe that they are impervious to being propagandized, and they do not delve further than the “responsible” media outlets they consume because they cannot imagine that such established media outlets could be lying to them or even in cahoots with the Deep State actors. Regarding Iraq WMD etc,, the outing of Valerie Plame, etc., they have amnesia.
Such people were screaming bloody murder about Russiagate three weeks ago. If one pointed out that Russiagate is a load of fermented pi– they accused one of being a Trump supporter. Now these same people have turnedn on a dime and are behind Trump and his gang (worse and scarier IMO than Trump) of terrifying creeps Abrams, Pompeo, Bolton, Pence, etc. When one points this out they come back with Maduro is a bad person. They have not one jot of humility that they were played before and they are being played again. They don’t even seek to explain how come they are now behind Trump. Perhaps they are glad to have the attention off their being suckered by the Russian collusion farce.
As for what the “deplorables” think of the goings-on in Ven I have no idea.
But I have read somewhere—I am sure that others here have read this—that the economic and debt situ of the USA is so terrible that in a sense the state has “no choice” (from USA perspective) but to make this oil grab. Like commandeering a lifeboat from the sinking Titanic to take it for yourself and pushing the people overboard who were in it before. You might feel sorry for the people in the water but you are staying in the lifeboat and you will defend it.
I can’t help wondering whether the Very Well Educated don’t half consciously grasp that their life style and the economic survival of the USA and their life as they know it are tied in with this resource grab and so they don’t exactly “fall” for the rationales but actually find reasons to support them to maintain a facade of morality to themselves. They conveniently forget about Iraq, never cared about Libya and do not blame these destroyed states on USA and European aggression.
European leaders by their consent to the Gweedo farce have given “cover” to USA aggression and regime change, just as Blair before them gave cover to Bush for the Iraq aggression. So the consciences of the Very Well Educated are relieved and they challenge: “See, the Europeans are also against Maduro. What do you say to that???” All I can think of to say is: “They are craven fools, and I don’t know why they would act so lawlessly and irresponsibly.”
Katherine
Excellent Katherine!
As you pointed “Well Educated” does not always mean smart. In fact, sometimes quite the opposite..
I often found it hard to grasp how “well educated people” believe everything they read or are told by the MSM, I think you have articulated it beautifully for my own comprehension, Katherine.
Kudos!
Btw, loved how Abbey Martin described the character of Marco Rubio after he tweeted pictures intimating that Maduro will fall on his sword in the same vein as the late leader Muammar Gaddafi.

These psychotic, blood thirsty US politicians need to be cleansed out of society.
The propaganda line from (dis)InfoWars and Breitbart is revealing their true colors.
They have pathetically tried to promote the meme that “Trump is opposed to the Deep State.”
Yet here they are cheerleading Trump pushing another US regime change operation against Venezuela, which the American Deep State has been aggressively advancing since the early 2000s.
Trump (and his MAGA-controlled media) are not opposed to the US Deep State. They are only *one* particular faction of this Deep State. That is why Trump hired long-standing Neocon deep state assets like John Bolton and Elliott Abrams.
“Trump (and his MAGA-controlled media) are not opposed to the US Deep State. They are only *one* particular faction of this Deep State. That is why Trump hired long-standing Neocon deep state assets like John Bolton and Elliott Abrams.”
Exactly. This trump as outsider/rebel meme has been a charade from the very start. It is psywar to maintain the very support for these zionazis and fascists that people thought they were opposing through their support for trump.
Vot tak,
spot on. Take a look at the disinformation campaign coming from the “deplorable” altmedia spokespeople . Following the election, the messaging immediately changed. All the purported patriots, fighting against empire , quickly transformed into Zionist cheerleaders. I certainly fell for charade, known as Conservative treehouse.
The army of U.S Government bots, Zio trolls, and Cambridge analytica/ Bannon acolytes, infesting Zero Hedge, is overwhelming. It won’t work. The new warcry against socialism is a fools gambit. We will go back to sitting out elections. Trump will not win re-election. He has lost the “woke” part of his base, in fact, many of us are now working against him.

Addressing a Venezuela Solidarity Campaign demonstration outside the Bank of England yesterday(Sat 23rd), Ken Livingstone said when he was London Mayor his guest Hugo Chavez told him over a coffee how when the army abducted him they were reluctant to kill him as they were not confident that the coupe would succeed.
Three men entered the room in which he was detained and his guard suspecting they were US agents there to kill his prisoner and realising they would kill him also as a witness pointed his weapon at them and said he would open fire unless they left immeadiately, which they did.

After yesterday’s fiasco, there are some interesting news here in Brazil. Some important newspapers and media pundits, generally aligned with the global MSM, have recognized that Brazil can’t take part in any intervention in Venezuela. A columnist from Veja magazine said that our armed forces are weaker than Venezuela’s (which is true). A columnist from Folha de São Paulo said that the militaries are unhappy with Bolsonaro’s government and trying to encircle him to avoid more mistakes. Finally, an editorial from O Estado de São Paulo, the most conservative of all the big newspapers and the one that most openly endorsed his election, points that his government is marching for a disaster. There are some rumours here that the top military personnel already controls the government. It seems to me that a regime change in Brazil is easier than one in Venezuela. At least from a brazilian perspective, yesterday was a victory for Maduro.
P.S.: this kind of regime change in Brazil wouldn’t be a good thing, far from it. We would see a clownish, but weak, president being replaced by a more rational, but much more hardline (and dangerous) military junta.

re Cris Murphy/CT
I called his office to thank him for speaking out. I think it is important that every supporter of US nonintervention receives support. I also wrote to Trump suggesting that any involvement in Venezuela will lose him the 2020 election as he promised no more wars.

Our buzz in the “sticky feed” does matter and according to my non political, religious friend it matters more than we think. Thought and intention are energy so let’s keep on buzzing and stinging the beast until it roars and drops.
What does “sticky” mean in the context of this thread?
Katherine (tech and social media ignoramous)
A “sticky” post is pinned to the top of the display, so that you always see it first.
Although that bit doesn’t seem to be working now.
I bet he knows his way around very well.
I hope he has good protection/security.
Actually, an image of Maduro driving a big bus full of Venezuelans of all ages etc. might a good PR visual.
Kind of like the captain at the helm of a ship.
I was turned off by the mention by the spit-curled wonder featured in a video last week of the fact that Maduro was a bus driver and therefore he must be subcapable.
It is true that a bus driver is not an economist, but neither are most other politicians.
At least being a bus driver is an honest profession and brings one into contact with the people.
Maduro needs to get the best economic planners into his administration to start developing a better economic development program. No Chicago Boys.
Meanwhile, perhaps his image advisors can turn the bus driver image into a strong positive.
Buses are for all the people, not for elites.

The video is about 39 minutes long and perhaps the best spent 39 minutes of your day.
The Guaido U.S.-led Junta and their seditionist provocateurs are probing for a weakness in border security and Venezuelan FANB must be ready with shields, truncheons and other crowd control measures to beat them back. President Maduro cannot back down, not one inch including moving tanks right up to the epicenter of conflict if cross-border tensions escalate.
President Maduro needs to deploy UAV drones flying at different altitudes to the Colombian and Brazilian borders for round the clock airborne surveillance. The cameras should have multi-purpose day and night visual and audio recording capability that captures all activity in real-time. Military ground units can be routed to the locations where hot-spots are staged for assault.
Obviously FANB will have to incur the bulk of the fighting but how will Russia and China aid its economic ally besides technological support? Unlike the Black Sea where a coastal State (Turkey) is the gatekeeper, the Caribbean Sea is an international body of water and Russia and China can freely sail their warships and submarines into those waters. One thousand Chinese junks would make it very difficult to coordinate a naval incursion by U.S. Marines if they attempt an illegal landing on Venezuelan shores.
This is a watershed moment and very dangerous for the U.S. since it can’t hide the imagery of its perfidious acts of imperialism disguised as “spreading democracy.”
Maybe I am naive but what about letting those trucks go through but request a cargo manifest from the shipper then within the border zone offload and inspect cargo in detail and if there is anything other than humanitarian aid make a big public stunt out of it to benefit Maduro’s case.
Red Cross should also be questioned about validity of their insignia on those trucks.
If you look at the sanctions regime, would you accept a few cookies instead of lifting of sanctions? That is what is at issue. Tonnes of aid came in via Russia, Cuba and others in the last weeks alone. The country is stocked with medical equipment. There has never been a shortage of food, just money to buy it with. And then, Venezuelans receive basic baskets of food. Aaargh, it is a long story (lol), but, would you accept a few cookies instead of theft of your resources and lifting of sanctions?
So far in RT seen only plastic measuring cylinders and packets latex medical gloves…..off course highly flammable….and maybe of more use to protestors than actually as humanitarian aid to Venezuelans……and international red cross has called out for the fake red cross tabards to be not worn by protestors…. not sure any Red Cross are there at all….!
That’s what I exactly mean JJ
Propaganda hostilities come before cannon balls why no counter it early. Quench smoke before fires come out.
Maduro is not taking advantage of war of the words, addressing Americans in his lame speech won’t do, there is more sulphur smell now since his predecessor. I wonder about his advisors.
I mentioned earlier why not to parade Venezuela
massive help to poor American families with free heating oil when they needed it. What was that campaign all about really!
Just saying
All those theatre options together – forget it.
Even when the Zionist looting finds some shady legal base, realize this. They can bomb the sh*t out of Caracas with freedom and democracy bombs, the goodies are in the south.
Now, this is thick jungle. To paraphrase a co-commentator here, whose name slipped my mind (I’m sorry for that, my excuses, but it put a smile to my face): the scenery reminds of the film Predator.
Do people remind, that the guerilla group FARC battled the government of Colombia in the same environment for more than 50 years? No party could win, at a certain moment out of exhaustion they concluded on a treaty. Do the ziocons really think they can handle this in some weeks? I’m afraid some do.
Deluded minds from a certain tribe are on the wheel too often. Good luck with that, you deserve it.

Martin Sieff at Strategic-Culture.org:
https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/02/24/charging-into-venezuela-disastrous-overstretch-for-us.html
First two grafs:
” Are Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton and (farcically titled) Special Envoy for Restoring Democracy to Venezuela Elliott Abrams agents of influence for Russia and China? The idea has a lot more going for it than most of the ridiculous paranoia sweeping Washington over the past years.
If Russia and China really wanted to subvert the national security of the United States, they would seek to plunge Washington into a completely new, open-ended war with no practical resolution in sight on another continent far away from either of them where the United States itself had absolutely no major strategic interests at all, apart from fantasies of domination and greed.”
I respect Sieff. I think he is pretty experienced, has been on the scene for a long time.
Katherine
Except, I wish someone had caught that misspelled “Columbia”!
Needless to say, a tropical adventure as choreographed by Bolton and Abrams might be a long-term quagmire and stupid distraction, and a very bad idea for the US military, as Sieff points out—hence even a good development for Russia, China, and others who would like to be left in relative peace to go about their Belt and Silk road business. But the consequences would be most catastrophic for the Ven. people, not the USA.
But what do these vicious cretins care about them? Or, the USA and its citizens, for that matter
Katherine
Occams Razor = they’re stupid and crazy. But yes, of course it’s like (I think) Napoleon said, when your enemy is making a mistake… In this example a great defeat and, worse, being seen as defeated, makes for a doubling of effort, as Imperial Delusions are not objective but ideological. A Great Defeat follows when doubling becomes impossible. That’s a very sudden event and liable to bring nuclear action as the ideology is based on Rapture. Sudden events create large induced secondary forces and feedback, and, as with any explosion, creates an uncontrolled “exothermic” process and event-set. This is not secret. And that’s probably why Russia and China are being so gentle, not wanting to pis.off a mad-house riot in an asylum full of bombs and rockets.
US-backed opposition caught on VIDEO throwing Molotov cocktails at aid truck on Venezuela border
https://www.rt.com/news/452326-venezuela-us-aid-truck-protesters/
“This video found by @graffitiborrao appears to show the moment when an opposition guarimbero throws a Molotov cocktail on a truck loaded with US aid: pic.twitter.com/Z4Bg6dL4BR
— Max Blumenthal (@MaxBlumenthal) 24 февраля 2019 г.”
“But footage that has surfaced on social media tells a strikingly different story, pinning the blame on ‘activists’ in the crowd.
“This video from today shows the guarimberos making Molotov cocktails. Did they use them to set the aid truck on fire? pic.twitter.com/aNFqGVQ0uA
— Dan Cohen (@dancohen3000) 24 февраля 2019 г.”
One clip appears to have caught the moment a man on the Colombian side of the border pelted a Molotov cocktail at the truck, while another video from the scene showed the opposition activists openly preparing the incendiary devices. Border security guards can be seen patiently holding their line at a distance, casting further doubts on claims that the truck was seized and torched after it had crossed into Venezuela.”
Last night I was watching a segment of video at RT, taken from the colombian side, and it looked like a lit molotov had been thrown off in the distance. There was smoke already billowing where the molotov was thrown, presumably it was from the already burning trucks. It was not clear what was the target and I wondered if the zionazi-gay provocateurs were throwing molotovs at the Venezuelan border guards.
The international news reports on Feb 25 a.m. in Japan show “Venezuela” erupting into violence. It looks like the various FFs are being milked for all they are worth.
On skynews this morning…film of stacks of Molotovs being made on the Columbian side……why are not more successive barriers containers just piled up to prevent ingress into Venezuela…..this would avoid personal confrontation between oppositionists and loyal forces….reducing risk of injury and footage of loyalists forces being demonised by western agenda tv….throwing molotovs against containers symbolises the pointlessness of their protests ….no need to use gas…whereas pictures of injured peoples only encourages more action….
Well, well, the Neo-con capacity for causing chaos remains unmatched. They still have a stranglehold on the zombified public in the West (even though one could argue to a far less extent that was the case prior to the Iraq War) propped up by the MSM propaganda machine, an army of their faithful politicians, intellectuals, and Hollywood goons.
The big difference is that the Neo-cons and their masters have lost the ability to control the chaos they unleash, as well as the ability to decisively influence the political process both during and after the conflicts they cause.
We have seen it happen in Syria, the war caused by the Neo-cons, the Israelis and the Wahhabi crazies around the Persian Gulf. Russia, Iran, and Turkey are now controlling the dialogue and are in a position to influence the post-War fate of Syria, to the exclusion of the USA and its impotent EU vassals.
This is the good news for us who oppose the Neo-cons and their masters and hope for the future. Sadly, not enough to save the people of Venezuela from chaos the Neo-cons are preparing to unleash upon them.
We’ll see how the situation will develop.
The leak.
According to Maria Zakharova, Russia’s Foreign Affairs spokesperson, the US plans to exacerbate their destabilization of Venezuela with a mass delivery of weapons to the region in early March 2019.

The “humanitarian” narrative is recontextualised with a historical depth, and from a point of view that I will say “non-aligned”.
Good clarification of “humanitarian” aid.
We need to take note of the politicization not only of humanitarian aid but of the p hrase “humanitarian crisis.”
This “fire in teh theatre” screaming is driving a lot of opinion formation among the Very Well Edcucated in the West, at least in the USA.
These commentators reiterate the actual premises of genuine humanitarian and, of course, point out that a genuine crisis exists in Yemen, and the USA is doing eff-all to relieve that crisis but instead is deepening it. this highlights the extreme cynicism of the Venezuela hum aid gambit.
The Saker community hardly needs enlightening on the fakery of the R2P (is that the phrase?) scam, but I think we can all become more alert to the uses of the fake-news “humanitarian crisis”—R2HA?—meme as almost a a form of false flag, and jump on it as soon as it shows its fake-news head.

Has anyone noticed how Trump goes sneaking off to meet Kim Jong Un in the middle of this incredible brou-haha? John Michael Greer, who wrote Twilight’s Last Gleaming and is adamant that Trump is no dummy would say that whenever he or his cast of characters say something really outrageous, pay careful attention and you’ll see him quietly accomplish something his opponents would be really upset about.
I don’t know whether that will prove to be the case this time or not. OTOH, America probably does desperately need to control Venezuela’s oil, not for its own use so much as to prevent others from readily accessing it. They need to be the gatekeeper, no matter the cost.
” America probably does desperately need to control Venezuela’s oil, not for its own use so much as to prevent others from readily accessing it. They need to be the gatekeeper, no matter the cost.”
Why?
Katherine
If the US can control the World’s oil supply. They can be sure it keeps being sold in dollars. And control which countries get oil. They have used Saudi for that .But they see the Saudi’s being somewhat unstable lately (dealing with Russia, etc).
Katherine, I think you hit the target and wanted to provide further background I found in the comment section of moon of alabama. Thx to the commenter for providing this and sorry for not taking the time to credit precisely.
https://srsroccoreport.com/exxonmobils-u-s-oil-gas-financial-train-wreck-producing-shale-is-destroying-its-bottom-line
Apparently us domestic oil production is not self sufficient. The shale oil venture turns out to be a financial desaster and after the loss of the projected quatari pipeline us energy giants are in desperate need of a new source to exploit. Not just for profitable oil, also for stabilizing the petrodollar, because after the Saudi breakaway to yuan the threat of maduros pdvsa sales in crypto or any other currency than usd will be the last nail in the coffin. The perspective of this vast resources not being under domestic control will shake us empire to its core, as will another defeat manifest the loss of power projection abroad.
If there will be no continuity in regime change strategy whenever a “dictator” threatens to sell in euro (as Saddam did) or even dares to invent his own currency (as Gaddafi did) or simply does not hand exploitation to the right party (as Assad did with quatari pipeline VS Iran), than it will become obvious, that the US military corruption deprived it of its most precious ability to protect us energy dominance. This is another domino effect kind of situation. Exxon books show, there is no time for slow play because situation will get worse at every point of sale. But it’s also a dilemma because solid action might expose military inability.
Im with the saker. The best strategy would be to reduce us empire to a nation state. Start with green energy, try to catch up with public transportation, Healthcare, leveled wealth distribution, invest in education. Now, know how socialist and far fetched that sounds facing the fact that fossil fuel, global finance and mic rule us since it’s birth. That’s why the demise will be so painful.
@patricia
You are absolutely correct! It is protection of petrodollar that matters as it is holding the empire afloat for decades now. Deal made in hell.
If someone asks why, there is answer to it, silence, why bother.
This, even if we know that we are dealing with the sick and twisted and perhaps the inhuman among us, just breaks something up in the region of what we call the soul. The twisted bastardo!

US Senator Marco Rubio has posted a picture of the brutal murder of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in a less-than-subtle threat to Venezuela’s Maduro. Twitter blasted Rubio as a manic warmonger… who has extremely poor taste.
The two pictures –one showing Gaddafi while still in power, the other showing the Libyan leader being tortured minutes before his brutal murder– were posted by Sen. Rubio (R-FL) on Twitter without any caption. Yet, given his open calls for an armed insurrection in the Latin American country to depose President Nicolas Maduro, the message was clear.

rubio is owned by adelson, zionists, not just bribery controlled but owned as the zionist oligarchs are wont to do when they see knee crawling slave material; browder is another one to employ this technique.
Marco Rubio is a living example of Mark Twain’s famous quips about the US Congress:
“There is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”
“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”
“Fleas can be taught nearly anything that a Congressman can.”

The israeli quisling rubio is about as zionazi futa as it gets and an ideal poster boi for the fascist freakshow run out of Cuba, that with their zionazi Jewish mafia handlers essentially runs the florida failure.
Marco Rubio’s twitter profile says “follower of Christ”…?? LOL
The phony Cuban exile (his family left Cuba for the US 3 years before Castro liberated Cuba) Rubio, may have a lot of knowledge about murder. His sister is married to a convicted drug smuggler. And part of a gang that murdered a man, then cut the body up with a chainsaw and burned it to dispose of him.Since then Marco has used his influence to help his brother-in-law out.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando_Cicilia
I didn’t know about that, UB1, but it doesn’t surprise. These death squad/ mafia freaks come from the same mentally depraved subspecies as the daesh/al qaida throwbacks. If one looks at the sort of terror tactics employed, the death squads used in Latin America are little different from the al qaida terrorists nurtured in afghanistan.
Yes,ever since the fall of Batista, South Florida was flooded with the criminal class from Cuba.Every crook that could made it out headed there. And little Marco seems to have jumped in bed with them too.
Of course Cuba was also mob-owned under Batista—Meyer Lansky was very big in the offshore “gambling and gamboling” business. Lucky Luciano and others regularly met in Havana to party and to plan. And to skim profits off the gaming business there and some of the skim surely went to Batista.
Castro drove the Mob out of Cuba.
You’d think law-abiding Americans could appreciate him for that! The Cuban Eliot Ness!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havana_Conference
It would not surprise me at all to learn that Rubio’s family was Mob-connected before they ever set foot in Flahdah.
And, these Rubio threats are reminiscent of Murder Inc. methods to keep people in line.
But, aren’t death threats illegal under US law?
Couldn’t this be called open incitement of some kind? Strong arming? These terms sound too anodyne for death threats. I think it would be a crime under US law if Rubio posted a similar type of Tweet showing Trump instead of Maduro.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_threat#Against_a_head_of_state
This is just more lawless, obscene, but also adolescent behavior on the part of a US politician.
As a test it would be interesting to see what happens if someone posted a Tweet exactly the same except showing Rubio as the next to be bayoneted in the rear, instead of Maduro.
Katherine
This article pretty much nails rubio what he is:
http://www.unz.com/pgiraldi/being-marco-rubio/
_____________
One of the emptiest of all the empty suits in the Senate is Marco Rubio of Florida. The boyish looking Rubio is, to be sure, ambitious, but his thought processes, if they exist at all, are hard to discern. He is, more than most congressmen, both totally ignorant and completely programed in what he says and how he says it. Anyone who doubts that judgement should watch the February 2016 debate with former New Jersey governor Chris Christie in which Christie totally destroyed Rubio, effectively ending his bid to become the GOP candidate for president. Christie criticized Rubio for memorizing a “25-second speech that is exactly what his advisers gave him.” The two argued, but Rubio seemed stuck with his stump speech, which Christie called him out on every time he launched into it. Christie eventually turned and told the audience “There it is. The 25-second memorized speech.”
The Senator posted a prohibited form of pornography, a “snuff-film”. (They say Herr Hitler used to watch these sort of things, but in private.)
Does displaying, posting, prohibited, illegal in the US, pornographic snuff films not violate guidelines?
Will he be removed from Twitter?
From office as a criminal?
This says everything about the character of the Empire…
Tangentially, this video, “The Spider’s web”, might help explain the corruption and deception behind Venezuela’s gold ‘confiscated ‘ by the UK and the latter’s offshore secrecy ‘vapour’ accounts in various islands of the former British Empire.
It’s a long video but well worth the time plus it gets better and better as it goes along:

https://sputniknews.com/latam/201901261071839254-uk-venezuela-gold/
Reading the RT and Sputnik English language web sites for the last few weeks, one thing to be noticed there is an inordinate amount of space being given to the photographs and video clips of the U.S. puppet Guaido. Guaido says this, Guaido says that, Guaido visits this, visits that… On top of it, the YouTube RT channel video interviews on the Venezuela crisis constantly keep showing video clips of Guaido as the split-screen background. No pictures of Maduro, no video clips of Maduro…
Worst of all, the articles therein try very, very hard to give a supposedly “balanced view” (!) of “both sides of the conflict”. It is as if these _official_ Russian media outlets are bending backwards not to offend “the American partners”, as Mr. Putin fondly calls them.
Does this reflect Putin’s “shrewd” desire to “sit on the fence” until all the dust settles – so he would not end on the “wrong side”? Indeed, he keeps so strangely quiet about Venezuela these days…
You are correct George … fifth column journalism gets into all Russian media.
But here is one very sobering message and warning …
I do believe Russians have had enough …
For me, the message is very clear and well timed.
https://sputniknews.com/us/201902241072695820-russian-zicron-missile-targets/
Disregard the headline and read between the lines.
Thank you for the link, Павел, спасибо.
Of course, on its face at least, it only says, “don’t even think of attacking Russia, we got even better tools to respond” – which is a defensive posture. Id est, not more than an amplification of Putin’s earlier warning, given on 1 March 2018 (recall the simulation video presented then, of the hypersonic missile descending on something that looked like Florida). On the other hand, perhaps the tone is sharper. But still, a nuance, bound to be lost on U.S. primitives – if already set on invasions of Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua. Or I am just a pessimist…
George, here are a few pointers as correctly so, our opinions are not required here.
Forget history lessons gone by and stay with supplied link.
Examine target points by name and symbolism attached.
For instance … expand on Camp David
Expand on submarines.
Think about the present economic war of sanctions, ever being increased.
Consider the timing, the coded diplomacy, due to the lack of diplomacy.
Russians are very polite … up to a certain point … then surprise !
Again … the timing !
Thank you Saker for setting up this continual coverage of the Venezuelan situation. Scanning the posts provides insight into events as they develop. I hope readers find my posts useful. In any case I shall try to remain concise.
Beginning in Eastern Venezuela where the interests of the major powers directly collide:
(a) I have never felt there is much likelihood that Brazilian armed forces will intervene. As most readers know, Brazil is blighted by enormous fields of soybeans. A Brazilian visitor told me that she had driven all day,, north to south on a paved road across the Brazilian plains without for a moment seeing anything aside from other vehicles, but soybeans! Brazil is, by far, the world largest producer of soybeans and as might be expected the worlds largest exporter. At present China absorbs about 80% of the soybeans Brazil exports. Does it make sense for Brazil to intervene militarily in an area where China is directly involved? Only days ago, the Chinese halted further imports of Australian coal because of their belicose pro-American foreign policy.
(b) As Roger Milbrant has pointed out the disturbing and unfortunate clash with native peoples, the Penomes, seems related to gold mining on their land. Their is no way an outsider can get a grip on the situation without going there and doing the things an investigative reporter does.
@ Tom Garrett
Indeed, it is in eastern Venezuela where the chief interests of the major powers collide. In fact, to the two issues in that region that you correctly identified, a third big one can be added.
In his 17 February 2019 article titled “What’s Not Being Said About the Venezuela Oil War”,
https://journal-neo.org/2019/02/17/what-s-not-being-said-about-the-venezuela-oil-war/ , F. William Engdahl, a known scholar of oil geopolitics, speaks of the (up to now hushed-up) discovery of a gigantic oil field lying partly in the eastern part of Venezuela:
“… The real prize is the ultimate control over one of the best-kept secrets in the oil industry, the huge oil reserves of a disputed area straddling Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil. The region is called Guayana Esequiba. Some geologists believe the Esequiba region and its offshore could contain the world’s largest reserves of oil, oil of far better quality that the heavy Orinoco crude of Venezuela. …”
Engdahl goes on to say:
“… Imagine a scenario where Maduro’s regime is replaced by a free-market Guaido who reopens Venezuela to foreign oil interests and reprivatizes the state PDVSA. Then Guaido, with help from his various international friends, aggressively asserts Venezuela’s claims to Esequiba. Britain, France and Spain, all with major oil companies in the region, have joined the US in recognizing Guaido as interim president. So long as Venezuela was controlled by Maduro, it suited Exxon and their backers in Washington to recognize Guyana’s legitimacy to the offshore Esequiba fields. Were Guaido to come in, that could easily change and a fragile Guyana could be arm-twisted to resolve the Esequiba issue to the benefit of Venezuela. …”
Very wise and be quick about it, Italy.
Italy, if I recall correctly, refused to obey the hegemon’s demand for vassals to jump on the US regime change Venezuela bandwagon to depose or eliminate Maduro.
Italy to Strengthen Control Over Gold Reserves Amid Venezuela’s Problems With UK
“We have Venezuela as an example, which requested to repatriate a small part of its gold reserves and is now facing difficulties because the state that holds them [the UK] is coming up with various pretexts to avoid returning that gold”, he said.”
More should follow suit to at least see if the gold actually exists and ensure the same gold is not owned by countless others.

Ha! This is a typical mortgage scam!

There used to be a British saying in WW2, ‘The balloon has gone up’ (AA balloon indicating a raid has started). But there is another one more fitting to the Feb23 events: they ‘went down like a lead balloon’. Here is SyrianPerspective analyst, Canthama, to rub it in; he never thought much of our (the EUSA) chances in Venezuela anyway:
“Canthama #287576
Yes, there is a strange sense of hurry in the US to oust the elected Gov of Venezuela, and yes it is related to the oil as well, but it is also related to:
1) Russia possible response to the US dropping from INF…one way for Russia to counter any placements in EU is to place mid range missiles in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela….
2) China, US is placing the same Aegis systems all over Japan, aiming eastern Russia and mostly China, so China may try the same in Venezuela and Nicaragua (pending new canal construction).
3) _The collapse of shale oil/gas production and companies in the US,_ several oil sources indicating a negative number in new/old wells in 2019 so far and as we all know all the shale companies are beyond fixing in leveraging, any major “storm” on this industry will mean its complete collapse. Without this expensive oil/gas, the US would have to return big time to import oil.
So Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua have suddenly become a National Security issue for the US, due to US on wrong doing, as well as a possible life saving boat for the shale oil/gas crossroad ahead.”
Two good sources on the ground in Venezuela:

and
https://twitter.com/MaxBlumenthal
Just follow the tweets and click on what you want to know more about. Blumenthal did a nice short video on the collective markets in Caracas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=qlX3yfXNX_g
He used an unfortunate term, ‘sold under market value’. To my knowledge the mark-up is about 30%, which allows the small industries that service the market to survive quite well, continue developing their business but they will not get rich. Yet, being in country with similar markets people, merchants and vendors actually flourish. The secret is in the family and in the social grouping around that specific industry – the whole family or the whole social grouping works together – many hands make less profit but they also make a better life. On the average if I go to a similar type market to purchase a basket of food, it is about 30% less at the checkout compared with any chain supermarket for the same basket of food.
There is a very big misunderstanding as to the make-up of Latin American socialism and how it actually works. A good analysis can be found on https://venezuelanalysis.com/
How Much of Venezuela’s Crisis is Really Maduro’s Fault?

And there are other analysis that might be good to read.
It is as if we all know that Venezuela is critical at this point in time to withstand imperialism and hegemony.
There is also a 3 day (I believe) conference on at the moment in Caracas. You will find details on the Anya Parampil twitter feed. She says: “As Rubio cries tears of defeat, in the heart of Caracas delegates from over 100 countries have gathered to discuss how to bring democracy & equality to their own nations, & to show solidarity w the Bolivarian Republic.”
Today the so-called Lima group meets and Pompeo is bellowing about more sanctions. I have no idea what else they can sanction as everything mostly is sanctioned already.

https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2019/02/25/589513/US-Vice-President-Mike-Pence-Venezuela-concrete-steps
I don understand Press TV’s tone and seeming tendency there-in”
“US Vice President Mike Pence is set to announce “concrete steps” and “clear actions” to address the Venezuela crisis, as foreign intervention has pushed the Latin American nation into political chaos and economic collapse.”
is there political chaos and economic collapse in Venezuela?
To your two questions in one:
The nation is divided politically, and millions of people have left as refugees. That is political chaos.
Not to say two Congresses, two Presidents adds to the Constitutional-Judicial chaos.
This is how regime change and destabilization works. Chaos and collapse of government and economy.
The nation’s currency is at one million percent inflation. That’s economic collapse. Especially, with the sanctions put on assets and revenues, the economy is being strangled.
So, Press TV, has it right. It is the present condition of life in Venezuela. Soon, it looks like a civil war will break out. Maybe and invasion will be mounted. Venezuela is in the crosshairs.
No there is not political chaos and collapse in Venezuela. It is just the wishful thinking of a few psychopaths in Washington and London.
There is no coup. There never could have been a coup as the CIA-created “opposition” have no forces and no popular support within the country.
Are we seriously supposed to believe that a few youths setting fire to a truck and throwing rocks at border guards poses a threat to the country?
There are multiple videos from on the spot reporters – not working for the msm – showing the calm streets of Caracas and refuting the wild allegation that food prices are rising at a rate of multiple thousands. Even if this were true it is obvious that such a rate of inflation would collapse the entire economy within 2 days at most yet we have been reading about million percent inflation for months.
Food is actually readily available as the Vice President explains in the interview (on this site)
The non-coup seems to have been an invention between western intelligence agencies and the controlled media, and several million sheep following the narrative desperately trying to see signs of the coup they were promised but of which there is not a single piece of evidence.
The whole event has however had the positive effect of propelling Venezuela into a state of readiness for any attack and it will also have galvanised the government into making even more determined efforts to separate their economy from the US/UK gangster world.
Other countries will have seen the hijacking of Venezuela’s gold by the UK.
As if it was possible, America this morning looks more ridiculous than ever.
Oh yes, they’d like to crush Venezuela.. But they can’t
