The US to back out of the deal?

OT. MSM is having trouble spinning the story on Yemen.
Al Qaeda seems to be the only viable fighting force that is resisting combined forces of Houthis, Yemen military and other groups that have all combined to kick out their US president.
Al Qaeda is variously described as loyal militia, loyal fighters, opposition.

There is unlikely that US would back out of the deal because they fantasize that it is detrimental to Russia:

“If the (final) agreement is signed in June, Russia will be the loser,” said Alexey Malashenko, an analyst at the Moscow Carnegie Center. “Now, Iran will be more inclined toward the West. For Russia, that’s a problem…
“the return of Iranian oil and natural gas to world markets would bring new supplies online just as low world prices are already hurting Russia’s economy”…
“other politicians, however, underscored the diplomatic difficulties ahead for Russia, which may find its hand weakened as Iran and the West grow closer”.

You quote this newspaper and an American source regarding Iran becoming pro western?
Think about it, iran after 35 years becoming pro western? Lol
Iran has specific regional interests that would prohibit this. Dump syria? Dump Hezbollah? Join israel and Saudi? Lol

“The US to back out of the deal?”

Have you ever considered that it doesn’t really matter whether they pull out of the deal or don’t pull out of the deal?

      • Peter on April 04, 2015  ·  at 7:47 pm EST/EDT

Apparently one of the conditions of lifting sanctions is that Iran provide access to investigators to check for previous work/planning for a nuclear weapon. This is similar to Iraq and WMD. If investigators do not find evidence the US will say Iran is not fulfilling its obligations. I doubt the sanctions will ever be lifted.
An interesting article here on a scenario set out by the Brookings Institution. The conditions for this scenario are now in place
        http://journal-neo.org/2015/04/04/us-israel-wage-war-on-iran-in-syria/
More importantly, Brookings details explicitly how the US will wage war on Iran, through Israel, in order to maintain plausible deniability. It states specifically under a chapter titled, “Allowing or Encouraging an Israeli Military Strike,” that:
…the most salient advantage this option has over that of an American air campaign is the possibility that Israel alone would be blamed for the attack. If this proves true, then the United States might not have to deal with Iranian retaliation or the diplomatic backlash that would accompany an American military operation against Iran. It could allow Washington to have its cake (delay Iran’s acquisition of a nuclear weapon) and eat it, too (avoid undermining many other U.S. regional diplomatic initiatives)

This may appear counter-intuitive but no professional strategist or team of strategists will create inflexible strategies and create/implement strategies on other than interactive lateral bases.

Failure to do so would hand an initiative to the opponent.

Your contribution appears to be predicated upon, and immersed in notions of exceptionalism.

You should be aware that professional strategies are almost never placed in the public domain whether they are implemented or not.

Oftentimes publications purporting to represent strategies are placed in the public domain to catalyse speculations such as can be seen with some frequency on this blog.

The audiences, targets or otherwise, as a consequence of their projections of “democracy” and their own perceived intelligence/merit/significance sometimes place unwarranted weight upon publications purporting to represent strategies.

    Dear The Saker,

Another interesting show on Yemen today from RT’s Crosstalk.

    http://rt.com/shows/crosstalk/246353-yemen-saudi-oil-houthis/

A very interesting point made by one of the guests. Apparently Hadi isn’t/wasn’t even the President and hasn’t legally been since early last year. The guest sent his article on this vip point to various US outlets including Washington Post and they wouldn’t publish it. A point no one else has really mentioned. Some of the other guests comments were good too.

    Rgds,

The only solution for the USrael that I can see is to throw out from the UN several dozen countries, why bother with formalities…..?

    • Uncle Bob 1 on April 04, 2015  ·  at 4:14 am EST/EDT

There was an interesting report on something like that.It seems France (probably under orders) wanted to put a motion to the UNSC that they take away the veto from the 5 permanent members of the security council. But to do that those states have to agree to it.And Russia refuses, probably China would too.

      • WizOz on April 04, 2015  ·  at 10:27 am EST/EDT

France seems to be more under direct Israeli orders.

Seriously, the number of countries that aren’t is a short list. I do find that associating geographical names to the beast isn’t all that useful. It may have been so 100 years ago. Today with instant communications and access to any point on this planet in a few hours the power structure is more difficult to pin down.

yeah, its pathetic that the moronic police idiot of the world gets to behave like this. when I first realized that the politicians were bad guys it was so mind blowing. That’s why so many americans don’t get it. Its just a huge issue that the country’s leaders are completely out of control…horrible

It’s an Obama vs. Netanyahu thing.

Obama wants the deal (without caring too much what is in the deal) to enrage Netanyahu.
Netanyahu is against any half-way fair deal with Iran because he is… a Netanyahu.

    • kgbgb on April 06, 2015  ·  at 5:13 pm EST/EDT

According to Peter’s post of 7:47 above (posted after your comment), that’s exactly what they want us to believe. The idea being that the USA gets all the concessions that they can out of the Iranians, and then their Israeli co-conspirators attack anyway, while the USA avoids retaliation by plausibly denying complicity.

      Sounds plausible to me.

  10. David on April 04, 2015  ·  at 5:20 pm EST/EDT

There is a disturbing dichotomy in America, a country of some 360 million, that proves to be disastrous for the rest of the world any time and anywhere there is contact. The dichotomy is between the so-called government, and the population. The former is a corporation, United States of America, and the latter is Americans, living in each of the 50 states.
The policies of United States of America tend to sideline and silence American dissent while they play on jingoistic national pride, and with this done, United States of America is free to act on its own initiative. IOW – USA is truly a rogue, because it has separated itself from its population, engaging in relations with other nations, and taking actions against other nations to subjugate them, which are contrary to the long-term interests of Americans. Meanwhile, there is a much affected show of solidarity between the Washington DC corporation and the American people, which doesn’t really exist.
Is the rest of the world getting this? And given its record of past debacles, is the rest of the world getting that a deal made with those in Washington DC has nothing whatsoever to do with a connection to the American people, especially when a majority of them disapprove?
This so-called Obama deal with Iran is a distraction. It buys time. It fools everyone, except possibly Iranians, that the USA is finally going to reverse sanctions and deal with other nations in a statesmanlike manner. Don’t hold your breath. It only buys time while they dream up reasons to renege on their agreements, and create a pretext for “MOAR WAR”.
Americans on the other hand, have no interest in war with Iran, but because they have abdicated their responsibility to keep the Washington DC corporation under control for the last 3 or 4 generations, they have no standing to have anything to say about it and the only way this is going to change is for a hot and bloody revolution to take place. America hasn’t the backbone for that. This will be proven upon the conclusion of the “Human Terrain” study called Jade Helm (so-called a “drill”) later this year.
What about elections? That’s a laugh, because there hasn’t been an honest and unsullied election in this country for decades. The elections of 2014 are irrefutable proof that elections are not the solution. The corporation, United States of America, has been dealing dishonestly with the rest of the world and the American population ever since it was established, and more often than not, at cross purposes with the American people. Shockingly, that is the hidden reason it was established. It is only a matter of time before this arrangement collapses. I’m afraid, that point in time has been reached.

    • XbNB on April 04, 2015  ·  at 5:59 pm EST/EDT

“The corporation, United States of America, has been dealing dishonestly with the rest of the world and the American population ever since it was established,… It is only a matter of time before this arrangement collapses. I’m afraid, that point in time has been reached.”

      Let’s hope so David.

Someone, somewhere, HAS to do this ,distasteful as it appears to all decent minded American people, and ‘Jade Helm’ could just prove to be the touch paper for the fireworks to begin.

      • Anonymous on April 04, 2015  ·  at 6:30 pm EST/EDT

JADE HELM is their response to the major pushback & temporary retreat of the corporate goonocracy of last year’s Cliven Bundy NV (outside LV city) incident.

        Simple as that.
There’s major state legislation going on in the courts right now NV supposedly reclaiming their own constitution state rights.

It is not a dichotomy. It is a tyranny. The government (all three branches, all departments and all agencies) is owned and operated by Elites of the Liberal ideology.

The federal system is over. The Constitution is shredded.

The government works against Liberty, Religion, individual enterprise, privacy and Rule of Law.

The government sees the People as the enemy of the State (natural conclusion when the State is tyrannical).

All representative units at all levels (federal, state, country, city) are corrupted. Elites own them all.

The dilemma for the citizens is to split their love of country from support of the government. They have been educated to think and act as if patriotism and solidarity is given to government without understanding and comprehension that the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave is long gone.

This has been half century in the making, signaled by the deadly coup in Dallas in ’63. It spread through the educational system, leeched into the beliefs and practices of the society, and now has trapped the citizens in fear and loathing. The sheep are in the slaughter house.

America as a philosophical experiment in Liberty is over.

      Greed and hatred rule.

Groups are set against one another by race, gender, religion, age, economics and health.

It is the cave of the Hegemon. Nothing else lives here.

Hope comes from other civilizations (Russia and China, each different, both hopeful to replace the evil of the Hegemon.)

      • Katherine on April 05, 2015  ·  at 12:50 pm EST/EDT

I have to agree with David’s thumbnail analysis of the existential condition of the USA and with replies to it.
Today (Easter Sunday) I listened to a Q&A session with a pastor who has a successful program for gang members in LA—that is, to help them set a more positive course for their lives than merely gang membership. He emphasized the importance of connection and seeing all as parts of one. I.e., one society.
This is nice as far as it goes. But what about the chasm between the rulers of this country and the citizens? What about the chasm between citizens of this country and citizens of other countries such a Yemen, Russia, East Ukraine?
How setting a more positive course for the life of this country?

All religious leaders must seize every opportunity—such as an important religious feast day— to hammer home the need to counter the destructiveness, the lack of compassion, the lack of humanity in our government’s actions, in the corporate state’s drive to control all wealth and resources of the world. THe message must be sharing and building up together. The whole world. I am not a generally religious person, but many are. Their religious leaders hold great sway over their parishioners’ thinking. Religioius leaders may be one of the few sources of “alternative” ideas—basically commonsense and spiritual ideas— besides the hate- and pridefulness-generating propaganda that comes out of the TV and the MSM.

Where are the religious leaders who are mounting their pulpits to decry the bombings, the destabilization of civil societies, the creation of chaos. Where are the MLKs of the this moment in history?

        Katherine

“America as a philosophical experiment in Liberty is over.”

To start is a pre-requisite to being over.

        Did it start?

“It is the cave of the Hegemon. Nothing else lives here.”

How can a hegemon live in a cave, or is hegemony restricted to the cave and hence cannot be deemed hegemonic?

We all know how to solve this problem of exeptional country.Do what they proffered the world was doing against Lybia,Iraq,Syria,Iran and other countries US has ever put sanctions on.
Simply expell US embassy from all the countries that do not agree with US policies.Than stand back and see just how many countries realy do try to tell everybody else make up the world.

“We all know how to solve this problem of exeptional country.”

Strategies are often functions of purpose, means condition ends, all being contingent upon perspective.

“We all know” – then why contribute to a blog?

“Do what they proffered the world was doing against Lybia,Iraq,Syria,Iran and other countries US has ever put sanctions on.
Simply expell US embassy from all the countries that do not agree with US policies.Than stand back and see just how many countries realy do try to tell everybody else make up the world.”

If strategies are often functions of purpose, it would be reasonable on present data to hypothesise that your suggestions are based on your perception of purpose.

If the purpose is transcendence of the opponents, the strategies you suggest will be at best be insufficient in themselves, but also a source of deflection/ideological reinforcement precluding the achievent of the purpose of transcendence.

The possibility of perceiving and achieving this is based on the premiss that – we don’t all know like you know.

This should not be understood as exhibiting a binary notion of “superiority” and “inferiority”, which are sources of deflection/ideological reinforcement of “exceptionalism” precluding the achievment of the purpose, but as lateral factors facilitating the transcendence of “exceptionalism” towards equal and different, equal and different not being mutually exclusive.

If “We all know” we are likely to chase our tails/tales until such time as illusion meats/meets reality, known to some as the oh fu+k moment, or the come/cum shot.

However due regard should be given to reading the Emperor’s clothes all the way through to remember that often some of the procession carries on.
