Russia’s lower house of parliament, the State Duma, is planning to discuss the potential withdrawal of the country from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), according to Pyotr Tolstoy, the vice speaker of the parliament.
Russia has just started the process to withdraw from Council of the Baltic Sea States.
Previously they canceled membership in the Council of Europe.
We are also waiting for a formal announcement that from now on, oil will also have to be paid for in Rubles.
These are major changes in our world configuration.

Personally, I find this idea ridiculous. Russia has been in strengthening mode for decades, and participating with the various groups of goons was simply a good idea because they could better see the plans and players.

I live in Mexico where Sputnik has been available together with the standards–Pfizer, J & J, etc. Several months back the health authorities said that Sputnik was the only one they were using with which there had been no negative side effects. This is hardly a long-term study, but I found it interesting seeing that Sputnik was made in a different way than the others.
Mexico was amazing during the pandemic: no restrictions to enter the country. No pcr’s , vaccine mandate etc just a health form that is now canceled.

Are you aware of the upcoming vote in the WHA, May 22-28, on the Biden Administration amendments to the WHO? These amendments effectively remove national sovereignty from all 194 members in re the declaration of a health emergency. No legislative, judicial, scientific, or other body of any nation will be allowed to make health decisions: all will be decided by Tedros and an executive committee. He will become as infallible as the pope. No one will be able to refuse the WHO’s orders and they will create an enforcement arm. Once a nation, for instance, Russia, has been targeted as being a public health risk, for any old reason and merely on unconfirmed suspicion, the health goons will come in and set up their rules- lockdown, distancing, confiscation of firearms, or whatever they see fit to impose upon the population. This is just one (important) part of the push toward world government. Writer Zakhar Prilepin on social networks commented on the news that the Russian military leadership had decided to increase the grouping of troops in Ukraine by 50 thousand people.
According to him, such a decision was made a long time ago, and people with serious combat experience will go to Ukraine.

Never heard of Prilepin but that means nothing. However, I sincerely doubt that VVP and GA Shoigu discussed anything with anyone in regards to the current TOE and Deployment of Russian Forces in Orcland. No battle plan survives the first grinding crunch with the enemy, this being one of many reasons ‘battle plans’ are amazingly flexible and subject to instant change as the situation warrants. These changes can go all the way down from top brass to an infantry fire team as situations change, and trust me, situations are in constant flux. Nothing is engraved in stone beyond ‘Victory Will Be Ours’ in the end. And it will be.

I really hope that is true they are needed. But not if those troops are included in the volunteer numbers. They need to be regular troops. They also need a large number of the volunteer troops. They need to be deployed in support of the LDNR forces. And for security along the borders and in the liberated areas. Just as the Soviets did in WW2 and Afghanistan.There are the frontline troops,and there are 2nd echelon forces needed.
Those extra troops in the article need to be added to the frontline forces. The US and their allies used around 127,000 troops to subdue Iraq in 2003. And Iraq at that time had only half the population of Ukraine. And much less territory. As well as a military force nowhere near as dangerous and well equipped as the Kiev regime’s Ukrainian forces. From what we hear from many sources Russia only used somewhere between 50-120 thousand troops in the SMO so far. While they have done stellar work with those numbers,there comes a time to understand they aren’t enough to complete the mission. Adding 50 thousand as talked about is good. But without securing effectively the rear areas there will be major problems for the future. The addition of large volunteer forces as 2nd echelon troops would solve that issue.
As well as recruiting cadres of local forces,police and territorial militia to aid them in liberated areas. The Zelensky regime is actually helping in that recruitment I would think. Since they have banned all political parties that were in the opposition. And said they would persecute and kill as traitors any of the thousands of people that have by now taken food from Russia. And aren’t actively opposing Russian forces in the liberated areas. That should be creating a vast pool of potential supporters of Russia to recruit from.
Along those lines if Russia follows though with some of the things that have been talked about for the liberated areas. Such as replacing the Ukrainian currency with the Russian currency. Switching all the cell phone,internet,TV and radio programing,and banks, over to Russian providers. And most especially canceling in liberated areas all citizen and business debts to the Ukrainian and foreign state and banks. As well as getting the local economies back up and running. That would bring Russia a huge groundswell of support from those areas citizens. Now is the time to make those moves and secure that support they will need during and after the SMO.
Russia already started absorbing some areas, like Kherson. Ruble (or dual currency) usage, telco(internet) is being switched over, trade with RUssia(Crimea) has resumed, farmers were provided with fertilizers and fuel

Suppose tomorrow you, reader, are prime minister of a European country. You wish to make a decision on a topic – any topic – and you are told what you propose cannot be done, because the country is part of an international organisattion, and has signed a treaty. Of course, you can withdraw from the treaty, but the treaty contains hundreds of other measures, and withdrawal has to be notified a year in advance. The result is that, even if you were prime minister, there is little you can do that matters. As politicians can’t solve problems that matter, they end up making laws to solve problems that do not matter, but get them thirty seconds of prime time news.
Things also work without international organisation or treaty. Just look at what others are doing and copy what works.
I suspect that the withdrawal from the WHO is a result of what the Russians discovered in America’s biowarfare laboratories in Ukraine. WHO complicity requires Russia to withdraw in order to emphasize its accusations about how WHO has been captured by U.S. neocons. How could Russia condemn the WTO if it still remained part of this?
The withdrawal from the WTO does indeed suggest that Russia is joining with the SCO to create a new, parallel set of institutions to the WTO, IMF and World Bank so as to break free from US neoliberal control.

What you say makes since, Prof. Hudson, in regards to that you can’t complain about a group in which you’re also a member. But isn’t China Russia’s ally? Should we expect China will be the next to announce its departure?
The WHO has Russian members, 25. The WHO has Chinese members, 50.
The rest of the staff of 4,000 are mostly all from NATO countries.
How will Russia address biowarfare threat against it. Even if the military situation in ukraine is resolved how will it defend against biowarfare from west? Diplomacy will not work and west will likely continue with biowarfare. Bioweapons are the new nuclear weapons except they cannot be defended against and they do not destroy infrastructure. Biowarfare MAD I don’t think will work either, west would just use plausible deniability.

From what I can gather, Ukraine’s ‘market dominance’ comes about because of the combination of the steel making process operating in Ukraine (common with Russia), and particular materials used in producing steel in Ukraine, and those materials mainly come from Russia. The combination of process and specific materials makes it hard to replicate elsewhere.
The Neon is produced almost as a co- or by- product of the steel manufacture. Years back, the Neon was almost a waste product – then, semi conductor chip production exploded, and demand for Neon went through the roof. Neon can be produced using other processes and materials, but Ukraine’s market dominance came about from the usual supply chain/capital investment/operating cost evaluations.

A bit of topic but I’ve been mulling over the reasons for Scott Ritter’s sudden change of heart about the prospects of success of Russia’s operation in Ukraine. His argument that in essence he’s sudenly realised that NATO is constituting a well armed and reinvigorated Ukrainian army in the west for a summer counter-attack, is totally unconvincing and he must know a pipe dream. I can’t help but believe that Ritter’s been “got at” one way or another by the powers that be. I’m not going to speculate as to why or the trolls who are appearing here and elswhere trying to backen his name. My main interest is why those who are running this war in the West, have bothered. I doubt they worry about Ritter’s influence on the likes of us who are not taken in by the mainstream presstitute lies. They know we are a small minority wth no influence on anyone who counts. The reason I suspect is they are getting more and more jumpy about a growing realisation among the Ukrainian military that they’ve been sold a pup by NATO, and they are being sacrificed for their own ends by people (including the drugged up actor nominally leading them), who could not care less about Ukraine. It is absolutely vital they maintain the fiction that Russia can be defeated, and “turning” Ritter is part of this. It seems a futile hope, but at this stage they must be clutching at straws. Anyone have any better idea?

This Mikhail is so relentlessly negative that I think he is just venting emotionally. Don’t know about the military stuff in Ukraine except for the obvious. With regard to the Russian isolation, I really doubt that is going to be all that damaging, and that is even if it sustains for the foreseeable future. In the short run it pushes up the price of what Russia has to sell, and in the long run new trade patterns will develop. Both the Russians and the Europeans will be somewhat less well off owing to the breakdown in trade, but if the populations will put up with it, the political damage will be minimal.
China is unlikely to buckle on Russia because they have the West as a common enemy. If Russia goes down as an independent country, China will go down also because they are resource poor and need a resource rich country that is reliable. Hard to get a better fit for China than Russia, and our numb-nuts politicians are pushing them together.
India can’t go anti Russian because they need the fertilizer and there is no secondary supplier. And you know, there is a whole world full of countries that would be happy to buy resources at a discount price. They’re toning down the anti-west sentiment of the Russian population and are advocating for reconciliation with the west. The same is happening in EU, Italy and France started talking about people being happy in Mariupol after its liberation and about Azov war crimes. In reality during all these phone calls Macron and Putin have been working together to bring down the hostilities behind the US and the UK backs. Macron is a great actor (for the anecdote he married his acting teacher), it was obvious he was against the war in the first days of the conflict but then he ramped up the aggressive rhetoric to not be targeted by the new McCarthy clan. It’s almost certain the french NATO officers in Ukraine were a remainder of the Hollande era. Macron has been repeatedly critical of NATO in the past and he certainly didn’t change his stance now. He’s just doing his best to not be antagonized by the americans since most of Brussels is under their control.
Not to say he’s a good president for France, far from it, but when it comes to this particular situation he has been maneuvering skillfully. If you need any confirmation, in a recent RT article he was mentioned as the only european leader trying to lead the EU away of American influence. It’s certainly not a coincidence.

The idea that a law is needed over this is perplexing. What is the logic? That the neoliberals in the Kremlin will insist on trading them for some nephew of an oligarch who is rounded up in the Ukraine? If so, that is pathetic.
This is like the idea that a law should prevent an exchange for Medvedchuk. Sorry, but the leader of your country can’t let personal relations get in the way during wartime, well, “special operations” time. And Putin won’t. Stalin watched his son die, and that was correct.

I’m eagerly awaiting news that among the Azovstal prisoners is Leautenant Colonel Alexander Vindman. As some might recall, Vindman was the immigrant from the Ukraine that presumed to initiate impeachment precedings against President Trump for being insufficiently dedicated to shipping American weaponry to Ukraine.
I suspect that Ukraine’s forces elsewhere will be surrendering to. This war is over. Ukraine lost. Time for them to run away but not make babies because all of their men have been killed or castrated.
It is 03:57 in our quiet and quite bucolic little valley on Northside. I have always said that it’s going to be very hard to prevent Nato weapons from getting through to Ukraine. Now, Scott Ritter has done a U-turn by admitting that US howitzers are doing a lot of damage to Russian troops.
Russia has the choice of deploying a million more troops to conquer the whole of Ukraine right up to the Polish border or destroy everything that can move in Western Ukraine by missiles and aerial bombing.
Occupying anti-Russian regions in Galicia would be like swallowing a porcupine. That leaves the 2nd option of destroying every means of transportation in Western Ukraine from the air.
That will also mean that restUkraine will be starved of supplies. A modern society without daily supplies is a very uncomfortable place to be in.
With the enormous amount of Nato weapons being sent to Ukraine, we are already in a state of war between Nato and Russia. This is very different from what happened during the Cuba missile crisis, the Vietnam war or the Afghan war.
With every day that passes we are moving closer to WWIII and nuclear war.
Ritter did not “admit” that. He can’t admit anything as he doesn’t know anything. He stated that but that is not an admission, just an uninformed opinion. And as (Dirty) Harry Callahan famously stated “opinions are like arseholes, everyone has them”.
I think Russia can feed its people, I am not so sure that Europe will be able to. Moreover in this situation Russia, being a big food producer and exporter, holds all the cards, and has Europe over a barrel so to speak. The only thing that Europe is producing is a lot of hot air and brain-dead politicians, and this is becoming increasingly evident by the day. Moreover the Americans will look after its own interests and little incentive to look out for Europe’s increasing food and energy crisis. And into the euro-vortex of this Euro-crisis Sweden and Finland decide to join NATO! There’s no answer to that!
