The biggest news of today’s cycle is the wild admission by the Pentagon, U.S. media, etc., that the U.S. has in fact employed a “strategy” of outright lying and making up fake intelligence to ‘combat Russia’.
Astounding quote from article: “President Joe Biden later said it publicly. But three U.S. officials told NBC News this week there is no evidence Russia has brought any chemical weapons near Ukraine. They said the U.S. released the information to deter Russia from using the banned munitions.”
They also admitted that most of the intelligence surrounding the conflict, such as the infamous ‘China is providing Russia with equipment’ was complete ‘malarky’, as the demented zombie-in-chief would say. How any reasonable and self-respecting country or people could trust the U.S.’s ongoing claims from this point on are beyond me. How could you possibly take in this announcement, and yet still believe the U.S. side of the story about the ‘Bucha massacre’ amongst other things?
This amazing feat of neuro-linguistic-programming must be seen to be believed: https://youtu.be/BXLKUCLhZos
The reporters here celebrate the ‘novelty’ of this method of utilizing intelligence (as if the amazing technique of ‘lying’ has only just been discovered by them). They dance around the real description of the concept as basically being “lying”, by continually describing it in fancy ways to frill it up and legitimize the “technique” as something other than what it is on its bare-faced surface: outright lies and propaganda meant to control the narrative of the conflict favorably.
And by the way, the reporter in the video is this guy:
And was actually fired by the LA Times for how deeply in bed he was with the CIA
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/la-times-disowns-reporter_b_5770388
After these admissions how can ANYTHING from the U.S. be believed? Russian “casualties” of 30,000+? Bucha massacre? Chemical weapons usage? Russia’s “failed objectives” and “failing campaign”? These are all individual claims that fall under the purview of this ‘new’ and ‘amazing’ technique called complete b.s. from the CIA.
Obviously this has been U.S.’s chief tactic for decades. But the full admission brings up a starker reality. That behind the curtains, the CIA has in recent times shifted to conducting its Ops “in the open”, but presenting them in a way that makes them seem acceptable. For instance we know during the last election, a remarkable series of articles came out in the MSM detailing the entire deep-state covert ops, how various apparatuses of the democratic party came together with corporate assets, Facebook, NGOs, etc., to take control of the 2020 election. They even fully admit to it being a secretive “shadow campaign”, but rebranded as a ‘good cause’.
https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/
In previous times this would have been an unprecedented scandal but now, rebranded and ‘in the open’, it’s given the cachet of legitimacy. The reason for the method shift is obvious: in today’s integrated online/social media environment, it’s pretty much impossible for the western intel agencies to operate in pure secrecy anymore. That era is over with. And so they’ve shifted to a strategy of conducting their Ops in full view but utilizing their media arm to repackage them to look justified in a certain light.
It’s akin to this – Hannity proudly and openly wearing a CIA pin (the Mockingbird is no longer caged, as you can see, it can fly freely and proudly in the open now) while decrying that, “Vladimir Putin has forfeited his right to live.”
Why does @seanhannity wear a CIA flag pin every night? https://t.co/iUW4hjwGJ1 pic.twitter.com/psPm4V1Dii

Onto other things:
The U.S. has admitted to training Ukrainian saboteur groups to operate the new Switchblade kamikaze drones. Reportedly they are being trained on U.S. soil, in secret. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3260827-u-s-training-small-number-of-ukrainian-troops-on-switchblade-drones/amp/
“The “very small number” of Ukrainian soldiers, who have been in the U.S. since last fall for military training, were taught to use the drone with the expectation that they would soon return to their country to train others on the equipment, press secretary John Kirby told reporters.
“We took the opportunity — having them still in the country — to give them a couple of days’ worth of training on the Switchblade so that they can go back — and they will be going back soon, back home — to train others in the Ukrainian military,” Kirby said.”
More confirmation of how deeply invested and entrenched the U.S. is in this war. But no different than the billions spent on training Syrian rebels and ‘moderate terrorists’ to fight against Russians and Assad in Syria.
The U.S. has even reactivated the Lend Lease program for the first time since WW2 to massively arm Ukraine: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/06/senate-unanimously-approves-lend-lease-00023668
And also:
“U.S. For 1st Time Publicly Announces Transfer Of Intelligence To Ukraine’s Armed Forces For Donbas Operations”
Here’s today’s print-up from the Pentagon itself. I can’t stress enough how massive the scale of this operation by the west to fund/supply Ukraine is. It dwarfs anything in history. When you consider that less than ~2000 Stingers were provided to the Taliban in the 80’s war, and that was considered an unprecedented scale operation at the time, then look at the above list and realize we’re only at the very earliest stages of what the West will be supplying to Ukraine (tanks, jets, etc likely all incoming eventually). There are some unconfirmed reports that even British Harpoons are already delivered and placed in Odessa. This is orders of magnitude more powerful/dangerous than the ‘Sea Skuas’ they were talking about, but this rumor may be fake propaganda from the Ukrop side.
More and more each day the scale of this operation is revealed and how deeply invested the west is, and it is breathtaking. New videos appear daily of large groups of foreign fighters, Georgian, etc., being heavily equipped and sent into the Ukraine.
And this list above is only from the U.S., there is much more from the other western ‘allies’ as well. Planes from North Macedonia landed in Reznow airfield in Poland today, likely bringing goodies as every other European country has. And add that to the billions already allotted recently in general aid and the billions spent on achieving Euromaidan, as admitted by Nuland when she said over $5 billion had been spent by the U.S.
The entire project has been in development for a very long time and it is the culmination of the western empire’s attempts to destroy Russia. Just listen here how Soros himself explains his involvement in the events of Ukraine dating back to the late 80’s and early 90’s. And how Adam Schiff admits that “the U.S. is fighting Russia over there so it doesn’t have to do it over here.”

On frontline news: As the big showdown in Donbass looms, a lot of forces are pouring in on both sides. Russia has shifted strategies and is now striking railway stations and reinforcement hubs / corridors, as many have hoped it would do. Overnight there were several reports of important railway hubs being hit by missiles. One near Zhytomir, which is possibly the single most important reinforcement hub to the frontlines in all of western Ukraine. Reinforcements being sent to frontlines were reportedly destroyed in the strike, though there’s no visual confirmation. And another in Kharkov region – just south, in Lozovaya – which evoked a video message plea from the Kharkov mayor who said railways were hit, oil has run out, but pleaded for people not to flee (presumably because the militants who control him need citizens to use as hostages / human shields just like in Mariupol).
“#KHARKOV Region—#Lozovaya—#Russia|n forces conduct precision missile strikes at a major supply/logistics centre of #Ukraine|ian forces in Lozovaya, which boast a key intersection of rail tracks enabling the supply and reinforcement of the #Donbass grouping of #UA military.”
As can be seen on this map, the Lozovaya junction is a critical resupply / reinforcement route for the Ukrop Donbass cauldron and specifically their stronghold of Kramatorsk, which had been the central headquarters of the entire JFO for some time. And other reports said a railway bridge was hit leading to that junction as well.
Just north of there, Russia continues to progress around Izyum. Our forces are now fighting at Sulihyvka/Suligovka on the way to Dovhen’ke in the direction towards Slavyansk.
Not only does this photo below show the progress downward from Izyum, but you can start seeing how this salient is now beginning to create the opening pincer that will enclose the ‘Great Cauldron’.
The battle for Kam’yanka, directly south of Izyum was quite destructive for the UAF, they suffered many losses and there are fields littered with their dead, as well as many trophies taken. https://www.bitchute.com/video/2qjB8t89mK2a/
Reports indicate that UAF forces are now amassing a huge force in the Kramatorsk / Druzhkovka region in preparation for RF’s advances. But they continue putting up stiff resistance along the road towards Slavyansk as well. The highways from Horlivka towards Kramatorsk are said to be filled with UAF troops. This appears to be their single largest agglomeration of the cauldron.
In the south, RF have blockaded Ugledar and Novomikhailovka, and begun storming the latter. Also, Basurin has estimated 3,000 to 3,500 enemy fighters remain in Mariupol. And the map there looks something like this:
With that said, most of the ‘weak’ ones have surrendered and only the most hardened Azov fanatics remain, so there is some possibility that the fighting can still go on for a decently long time. With that said, the more they retreat towards the ports, the more they are running out of residential areas with civilians to use as human shields, which allows allied forces to use increasingly heavy-handed tactics and strikes against them. I reported last time how for the first time heavy duty artillery units like 2S3 and 2S4s were brought in, such as those you can see in the latest Wargonzo video https://youtu.be/YPMVVMaqQSM?t=151
So it’s difficult to guess – the fight could take another two weeks, or it can suddenly collapse in the next day or two if the remaining Azov abruptly surrender. Unfortunately cities take a long time to siege, many of us remember following the events of Aleppo or Sarajevo, and the years it took. Even in the final stages of Aleppo when rebel forces were already collapsing and SAA had the upper hand, it was weeks for every neighborhood, and months to clear districts.
But right now things are advancing according to plan. Large Russian reinforcements have poured into the Kharkov area to head to the Izyum front, and meanwhile Ukrop reinforcements/resupplies are finally being hit in their train stations and railyards by the RuAF, so the stage is being favorably set for our forces.
And for those that continue to doubt that the RF has vastly destroyed the Ukrainian military in terms of armor and capabilities. New videos continue to show the total lack of Ukrainian armor or vehicles. Here is one showing a large Ukrainian force, all on foot, not a vehicle among them – forced to use a civilian truck to evacuate their wounded – whom, by the way, have obvious swastikas on their person.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/zqjIYN3GAWFm/
A force this large should always be supported with mechanized units and some sort of infantry fighting vehicle at the minimum, yet here they are taking lots of casualties in the video, no armor in sight.
And here, we see Ukrainian soldiers forced to ride bicycles to get to where they’re going. https://www.bitchute.com/video/ULjN5yH3IcJn/
A week or so ago, the American mercenary James Vasquez bragged on twitter how him and his squad “commandeered” (read: stole) a Lexus in Kiev so they can get to the frontline, such is their lack of military transport vehicles or APCs.
The U.S. by the way says that Russia has not responded to any calls from the Pentagon since February: https://www.rt.com/news/553500-pentagon-russia-phone-silent/
General Milley keeps calling, and Russia is not answering.
A quick note on the topic of Russian ‘traitors’ and 5th columnists, it’s interesting how many of them are fleeing to Israel specifically.
https://www.rt.com/business/553285-russian-billionaire-prokhorov-israel-citizenship/
Prokhorov was once a Russian presidential candidate and one of Russia’s richest and most powerful oligarchs.
And now the CEO of Yandex https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/tech-news/yandex-ceo-relocates-to-israel-cannot-work-for-a-country-at-war-1.10722163
Lastly, the Ruble is now in the mid 70’s to the USD.
To the utter bewilderment of the West, it just keeps gaining in strength against the dollar.
I’ll leave you with this last video: to those that still question the Russian air power, or say Russia is not utilizing it, or doesn’t have air supremacy, etc. Here’s what a Ukrainian soldier said when asked what he fears most in this war: https://www.bitchute.com/video/xbWbfp7v5nJH/
I have a feeling that Russia would suspend all activities at the UN in the near future. I also think, Russia would initiate a new United Sovereign Nations organisation without the so-called West.
One could only hope. And, given the russian mentality, they may actually be able to pull it off, if they work in conjunction with the chinese.
There is already the SCO, so the stage is set. Just expand it.
The recent UN abstentions and votes against are an indication of the support a proper Independent UN would have.
Look also for Nations withdrawing from the UN and its crony organisations.
Too soon. Maybe one day.
When the Soviets boycotted the UN (to protest the occupation of China’s seat in the UNSC by Taiwan) that allowed the incredibly destructive Korean war to proceed as a UN action.
It was still to be another generation before China was able to take their rightful place in the UNSC, so it didn’t really accomplish much that was positive.
The Empire of Chaos, Lies, Bribes and Extortion will continue to dominate smaller nations at the UN/IMF and World Bank until all of those things no longer work.
All of those things (except Lies) are dependent on the US Dollar as the most respected form of payment.
It is going to take longer than “the near future” for that scenario to fully play out, at least a decade more.
Could someone please explain why, after the heavy losses suffered by the VDV around Kiev, mechnised airborne forces are once again on the move, on land, to the frontline, this time near Kharkov, as it seems:
https://twitter.com/Osinttechnical/status/1512849100684902409
I don’t get what purpose the heavy and, as it seems, rather conventional (for lack of a better word) use of VDV forces has?
Would it not make more sense to airdrop or fly in a substantial force (including supplies for a few days),closer to say, Ukraine’s Western border and let them wreak havoc there, against presumably rather lightly defended rear guard units, before they are withdrawn to Belorussia? Or, alternatively, use them as a highly mobile reserve that is used to shore up thrusts by more armour-heavy units on critical sections of the frontline?
Sending these lightly armoured vehicles to go in first, against an enemy that is well prepared, in entrenched or fortified positions and expecting an attack seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
They’re blowing it! They used to be able to control the narrative. Now they can’t – they can only pretend they control it – while few believe what they say. Once the war crime tribunals start work – and especially once western operatives start testifying in the docks, and as the war crimes witnesses begin testifying, the ability of the West to hold the narrative is suddenly going to collapse like a bursting dam.
Beliefe systems are emotionallty based not logically based. The Covid operation has already primed people to smash their beliefs in the narrative, but we are not yet there – people are just too unwilling to believe the alternative.
At a certain point the pressure point will suddenly flip from below bursting pressure to above bursting pressure. At that point nothing in the world can stop the burst, and it will be explosively fast.
Exactly. If we just forget about what will happen in Germany for the long run, and take a look at the three important Southern Mediterranean countries namely, Italy, Spain, Portugal plus Greece, we see tectonic shift happening there. After over two years of nearly zero income from Tourism due Covid19, they now face huge energy cost increases because of sanctions on Russia. I have no doubt that there will be major street fighting and anti-globalist revolution somewhere in those countries that have better educated population not so much brainwashed by the MSM zio-media.
Sounds like a sore tooth needing attention.
My buddy over at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling says the U.S. is drawing up plans for a May 2022 non-fly zone over all of Ukraine (including Eastern Ukraine and Donbas) and plans are being drawn up for U.S. and NATO to control Russia oil fields in 2023. Russia will exist as a gas station for the West.
If this were true you would be in prison by this evening for sharing military secrets. As it is, you are lying. The base of which you speak hosts ceremonial support troops and is not in the operational chain of command. In any event NATO lacks the ability to enforce a no-fly zone in the region absent the use of nuclear weapons.
My buddy’s a contractor and a retired enlisted guy. Don’t think he’s plugged into any planning but that he would say this is alarming and means he’s getting it from someone. NFZ in May and U.S./NATO securing Russian oil fields in 2023. Interesting prediction. We’ll see if it comes to pass.
Enlisted, retired or not are not “plugged in.”
Yes, just someone spreading disinformation for amusement.
The military “draws up plans” for all sorts of scenarios and contingencies, but only a small fraction even get green-lit for implementation.
That said, I have faced mild derision here in the past for suggesting that this scripted conflict between Ukraine and Russia is intended to drain Russia militarily and, if successful, make some sort of regime change possible. That is how the A-Z Empire rolls in big wars, mop up after the original combatants are exhausted.
That favorite phrase of John McCain and other low IQ psychopaths of his kind: “a gas station for the West” is the giveaway, or ‘tell’
I am beginning to see that, across the Fourth Reich and the Five Eyes + Israel (which has lured the former into a trap, just as it lured the Third Reich into one) the average leadership IQ is little above body termperature.
It is clear that the only book the Gates, Bourlas, Walensky, and Ghebrayesus Axis (means “Hebrew Jesus” by the way) ever read or understood was The Book of Revelation, probably while stoned on some choice Pfizer pharmaceuticals.
Pestilence, War, Famine and Death (the merciful and retributive ‘fourth horseman’) have been tried many times before by this gang which we have always with us. The difference this time is that the population of the West has been deprived of any semblance of religion and therefore of context and compass. That is why they do not realize that they are skipping, merrily or otherwise, down the road to perdition.
This time, the preemptive stifling of religion has made all the difference for the Conspiracy. The Conspiracy of Psychopaths must have some powerful ‘advisos’.
The more this goes on, the more the US admits they were and are in this up to their necks, from the start, to the killing of civilians in Donbas, to the invasion they planned for early March, to the prosecution of the combat today. The US appears to be a full participant, including boots on the ground. That makes them accessories to the war crimes.
The US knowingly supports Nazis who practice genocide.
I don’t think they will stop voluntarily.
It slowly begins to dawn with me that the US is using the Ukro’s for their fight against Russia. Like the Germans did during WWII. Using their nationalistic feelings. We know now how that did end…
I feel sorry for those goodwilling Ukro’s. As madeleine Ulbright said: ” the end justifies the means”.
Subjugating the Russians and taking control of the enormous resources for their own benefit. Next step will be; go after China.
….we seen that already in US 2019-2020…. when Black Lives Matter…burning stores, business properties in tune of $ 2 billions …
Tucker Carlson on Fox News had a great intro to the madness and lunacy which is American leadership and media last night. Please watch to see how they lie and lie to get us into WWIII.
These buffoons in DC and the media elite are reckless and dangerous. If we need a ‘regime change’ it should be in DC because they threaten all that is good and proper.

Crude Timeline for Donbass Cauldron
1 week move into new locations
2 weeks refit and resupply
1 week move into positions
6-8 weeks to pin down and starve ’em out
2-4 weeks clean up
Total 12 to 14 weeks
That puts any post-Cauldron operations in early August.
Questions by a politically neutral layman interested in military and international affairs:
What was the tonality of Putin’s statement a couple of weeks ago when he mentioned that the operation might be concluded by 9 May? Did this come across as certain, or was it made with a considerable degree of vagueness?
My take on things:
– Given how long it is taking the Russian armed forces to fully seize Mariupol, which is located rather close to the Russian border, i.e. the initial frontline, and in view of the severe losses the Russian army encountered around Kiev, I, too, would expect the operation in the Donbass to take many weeks if not months to be completed.
– NATO intelligence gathered through satellites and AWACS aircraft largely nullify any Russian attempt to achieve strategic or operational surprise on the battlefield. Due to its inferior numbers (overall), the going will remain tough for the Russian army, even though the availability of fuel and heavy weaponry as well as mobility are becoming increasingly problematic for the Ukrainian side.
– Russia’s capabilities in drone reconnaissance and strikes are likely orders of a magnitude inferior to that of the US. They cannot take out every civilian delivery van on its way between, say, the Polish border and, say, the Donbass, Dnepro, or Odessa, for that matter. I would guess that Ukraine is still finding ways to distribute those US and European anti-tank and aircraft missiles to villages, towns and larger cities.
– The Russian advance on the ground is too geographically limited and slow so as to critically disrupt these supply flows into different areas of this large county. I do, however, concede that Ukraine’s capacity to engage in mechanised and highly mobile warfare has probably been very seriously degraded, and that the political and military leadership must be scratching their heads as to how they can continue the struggle in a conflict of lower intensity.
– In one of his recent interviews on Youtube, Scott Ritter argues that an insurgency is unlikely to happen on a larger scale and has no chance of success. I am not sure I find his arguments particularly convincing. A full-blown occupation of Ukraine seems unrealistic at this point, and in the absence of this, there will always remain vast amounts of territory where Ukrainian manpower equipped with small arms and missiles can harass or even infiltrate the zones that have fallen under Russian control.
– If Russia allows Western states to deliver heavy weaponry including air defence systems and artillery to Ukraine, then the whole “saga” that ‘started’ with the Maidan may just continue in a new variation.
Concluding thoughts:
– From the perspective of the Ukrainian side, for as long as they are capable of bringing large numbers of men with automatic weapons and portable missiles into urban areas on or close to the front line, I would guess the Russian army has a problem on its hands. Their aim must simply be to maintain a sufficiently high rate of attrition.
– Without Russian soldiers doing road checks between the Ukraine’s Western borders and, say, Kiev, I can’t see how (clandestine) shipments of small arms can be disrupted in a truly critical fashion. On a more strategic level, perhaps, I still fail to understand how Moscow can compel Kiev to lay down arms without a credible threat to the country’s political capital and its leadership, even if there is no intention to permanently occupy this part of the country.
– Western sanctions, as crippling as they might be for Europe, are real. If the average Russian consumer suffers less under high energy costs, than his European counterpart, surely larger Russian corporations are facing all kinds of issues due to the sanctions regime. The very significant military losses on the Russian side, which the Kremlin has now acknowledged, do not seem justified for a campaign that would merely culminate in the seizure of the Donbass and the establishment of a land bridge from Rostov to Crimea.
– My layman’s guess is therefore that the campaign will continue well into the autumn or beyond, and that Moscow will seek to at least capture Odessa so as to deprive Kiev from access to the Black Sea, as an additional strategic/territorial objective, following protracted and bitter fighting in the Donbass.
– Depending on Western arms shipments and the effectiveness of sophisticated weapon systems in contributing to a high rate of attrition on the Russian side, I can still see potential for a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia.
Thoughts? Corrections? Comments?
You are quite right. Russia is no threat for Umrainian nazi political class. Why would they make any concessions to Russia?
This can last endless.
Russia is acting to weak.
NATO will never attack Russia. They are too weak and fearful.
Russia can destroy the US in less than two hours.
No Minuteman missile from the ’80s and no trident subsonic missile are going to hit Russian territory.
As for your forecast, I think that in a few months USA is going to starve to death.
I don’t want to play the devil’s advocate, but it’s true that before March 24 all forecasts converging the duration of a Russian operation in Ukraine would not pass a few days as the Russian immense superiority between the two forces. It was said that Kiev would be taken even after one week.
However, we are already in the 8th week and the Russian successes on the ground remain very relativized. If the arrival of anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons (Slovakia has already sent its S-300 by train to the ukies) becomes important in the next days, I don’t see how Russia could accomplish its plan to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
Any informed person knows that Russia wants to minimize the loss of civilians and the destruction of infrastructure. They are acting very carefully.
If Russia were in full beast mode, like the United States in Iraq, then they would destroy Ukraine in a week, using only conventional weaponry.
Russia, with far fewer men on the ground, is defeating the second army in Europe. And they also do it politely.
“Any informed person knows that Russia wants to minimize the loss of civilians and the destruction of infrastructure. They are acting very carefully.”
That’s what can often be read, and it is a possibility, but I don’t think this hypothesis can in itself plausibly explain the course of events that we have witnessed thus far. IMHO there is a difference between not wanting to inflict severe damage to civilian infrastructure/life, holding one’s position(s) in a certain location or region, so as to tie to down enemy forces, and outright withdrawal from the outskirts of the enemy’s capital. I doubt the latter happened due to humanitarian considerations.
To my mind, the retreat from Kiev likely occurred, because
a) the forces at hand were not sufficient to permanently seize the outskirts and completely surround, blockade, let alone seize Kiev
b) the forces near Kiev were required to bolster efforts which had stalled elsewhere (Donbass)
To me as a layman in military affairs, it seems very likely that the forces initially allocated were later found to be insufficient for the objectives they were assigned.
You could read it that Russians lowered their threat on Kiev to let the defending Ukies out to go help their buds in the Donbas cauldron where the Russkies could kill them away from Kiev civilian hostages. Who knows, we armchair generals don’t know shit, we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime I just don’t want anybodies nuke landing on my armchair while I’m generaling.
No we are only at the 6th week. Feb 24-April 8 is 4+31+8 days = 43 days 43/7 = 6 weeks + 1 day.
But I estimate it will take to September for Russia to accomplish its main goals, but it will definitely have to stay in the areas it won. I mean if U.S. stays on indefinitely after WWII in Japan, Germany, etc. why should Russia retreat?
It appears that this S300 is blown to bits already.
The NATO scum publicise it’s arrival so make it easy for Russia.
When in history has one side of a conflict telegraphed it’s every intent re weapon and personnel deliveries?
It’s quite mad really.
US was on the edge of recession/depression before Ukraine mess. Now they managed to steal a couple of hundreds Billions from Russia, and to force Europeans to buy from US couple of hundreds billions worth (obsolete) weapons. In the future, big profit from selling overpriced LNG.
They bought some time.
In essence, the US externalized its problems to the EU. It’s yet another tax on vassals. Good for them.
Alas, there is a catch. US is overspending for decades in tens of TRILLIONS. All this extra tax (racket) on Europeans is in amount of hundreds of billions. This is simply not enough. To survive, the US must create an economic miracle on the level China did. To remake industry with workers willing to work hard and cheap for decades. And to find a market that needs their products.
That will happen only on a cold day in Hell.
So there will be a brighter spring and summer for Americans. But I have no doubt they will squander this blood money in no time, as usual. Winter is coming.
While you may be right about will never, they certainly have done so in the past…bombing Soviet airfields in the period of Korean war hot phase.
Some say the virus was an attack, even that “it” came from labs in Ukie…so some say..
Some say NATO officers are POWs in Crimea…does this NATO leadership of nazi armies quality as “attack”?
West is led by…great strategic highly educated thinkers? , Y/N quiz Friday.
Extra credit…do mistakes happen? Y/N
Seriously, west can imagine whatever west wants…Red Army attacks through. Once they start they go. Seen that way it doesn’t matter what west thinks, or does – it matters what Russia thinks. Once a war starts, the enemy decides when it’s over.
Many interesting considerations, but with a western tilt. I don’t know. USA won easilly in Iraq but only because most iraq forces decided not to fight. Then a 20 year insurgency that USA never managed to fix. Same in Afghanistan. What about Vietnam? Korean war? 80 days of bombing in Serbia that barely made a dent in serbian millitary. Only after bombing civilian targets serbians started talking.
Ukraine is no push over. I don’t think Russia ever thought so. I think they planned for the long haul. See how they’ve started slow with T72s and “disposable” equipment from the Soviet era. The russians are not fielding their newest kit. What is that telling you? These are early days…
….USA won easilly in Iraq but only because most iraq forces decided not to fight……
Yes, this is critical.
May be one day we hear an information about hidden billions on private accounts of Zelensky? That’s one type of game changer.
And what about ukrainian economy? It is impossible to maintain an average level of lifestyle without working industry, agriculture, transportation, services… So after some time we may see small revolution again, Maidan v2.0, with come back of pro-russian government.
Anyway, I predict rather political than pure military solution. And rather soon, within one year or so. I stay to be an optimist, the worst the West already released. You simply cant more lie than they did :) And for nuclear option no one agree and dare.
Andrew,
Great Questions. Let me try to think through some of these thoughts:
1) May 9th ? – appeared to be more of a ‘considerable degree of vagueness?’. In fact, my recollection, is it was a hint, if at all.
2) Mariupol ? – Siege warfare is different. Mopping up isolated squads of defenders can take forever, because who the heck wants to die mopping up some dead enders ? The attackers tactics at this stage is isolate and gradually neutralize – “starve ’em out”.
3) NATO Intell ? RF counter ? – The Kiev forces were fully integrated with NATO command and control. (just check out any Kiev units history on Wiki.) They’ve all been stationed in every NATO overseas mission for years and years. RF doctrine is very capable at masking and decoys. Yugoslavs follow’d much of this doctrine. (recall the bridge in Kosovo and Metohija that was bombed 37 times without effect, finally, when on the 38th try, the bridge was hit – it turned out to be a decoy. The actual bridge was a few hundred meters upriver).
Bet there is a huge behind the scenes electronic warfare struggle going on between the NATO AWACs aircraft and their RF counterparts. Way outside my expertise, but suspect plenty of resources going into this.
4) Drones ? – I think less of a difference than you think.
5) Weapons Smuggling ? – NATO can deliver tens of thousands of missiles and other light weapons, and they really don’t care if 5% make it to the front line. Heavy Equipment is another matter – the heavy equipment NATO is delivering is likely being held back around Lemberg, being assembled for the glorious counter offensive :)
6) Limited Advances ? – Kiev started out with about 25 combat brigades. If the mission is Demilitarization, then eliminating these combat brigades is the metric of success. Geography is secondary. Is it better to fight a ‘battle of annihilation’ 500km from the border or 75km ? Me thinks locking the Kiev forces in the Caldron only a hours drive from the border is a stroke of genius. Rough guess is that only 10-12 of these combat brigades are fully capable formations.
7) Insurgency ? Ritter’s argument is no Ukie nationalist will be dim enough to be used as NATO cannon fodder in a hopeless attempt to keep fighting. I’m not so sure. I’ll agree with Ritter, that the local Ukies won’t support a insurgency, and that spells doom for any partizan.
8) Denazification ? – A most interesting question, how to get the Kiev regime to sue for peace ? No idea at this stage.
9) Long War ? – very much so. At best, we are looking at 2 or 3 years of war. Roughly,
year 1 = liberation of eastern Ukraine and mostly demilartzaion.
year 2 = inconclusive struggle to liberate western Ukraine (after NATO resupply and training over winter)
year 3 = either liberation of entire Ukraine and subsequent denazification or NATO recapture
10) direct confrontation ? – its already been happening for weeks now. The number of NATO ‘trainers’ and Mercs likely numbers in the thousands, plus pilots, and geez who knows what else. At some point those NATO AWACs planes flying along the borders are going to look mighty tempting for RF surface to air missile forces.
11) Russian economy ? – likely very little effect on average Russian. Growth might stop, but average living standards not decline. Russian economy has boomed for last 15 years. Russia is a cash flow positive economy. the War Party is going to really REALLY press Peking and Dehli on the sanctions side, but reading their respective foreign ministries speeches closely – they are taking the Lavrov line. Its remarkable to read the complete speeches, very hard line anti-NATO.
Just thoughts. Thanks for asking.
Follow Up
Please note that at least 7 million Ukrainians invited the Russians in to stop the 8 years of bloodshed. 7 million ? Populations of the 3 oblasts that refuse to recognize Kiev‘s legitimacy.
Also note that 30% to maybe as much as 50% of the combat ground troops engaged on the peacekeeping side are Ukrainians.
Very important to illuminate these 2 key points.
Awareness of Gov false flag tactics and general distrust of Media is what deterred the US from launching a Chemical False Flag attack.
I was somewhat astonished to read in some MSM newspaper that those NATO shipment of arms into Ukraine are never attacked by Russia. Any news on that?
NATO provided weapons and trained the willing Ukrainians for seven years at least; yet Russia wiped out their air defenses in the first few hours. Shows what the NATO’s donated weapons are worth.
Why bomb infrastructure at this stage? The Donbass cauldron has been closed by fire for nearly a month now.
As to the involvement of nato-istan, repeat from earlier, but we need to understand, the network:
“Analytical Note by Lieutenant General L.P. Reshetnikov ::::: I consider it extremely mean to accuse our army of lack of communication systems without informing ordinary civilians that our units on the territory of the former USSR operate with three to five times higher manpower and with full support of the enemy by all NATO reconnaissance and radio technical power.
Any android, any iPhone is tapped continuously, any Facebook, WhatsApp and other vibes are continuously transmitting information, all processed by all the power of artificial intelligence systems and forming a map for targeting in real time. And that’s even if the Russian army is all on encrypted communication channels – where to put the population?
Over Romania and Poland there are airborne early warning aircraft of NATO with experienced crews, there are U.S. intelligence satellites in the sky all the time. I remind you that just in terms of budgets for our Roscosmos we allocated $2.5 billion a year, the civil budget of NASA is $25 billion, the civil budget of SpaceX alone is equal to Roscosmos – and that is not counting the tens of billions of dollars annually for the entire US feverishly unfolding control system of the entire planet.
In 2-3 years, we will have an order of magnitude higher density of U.S. intelligence and targeting.
The U.S. not only sees our troops on the ground, they see our aircraft, drones, study radar fields, estimate the time of approach of Calibers, they constantly give targeting instructions to Ukrainian generals online from the operations control center in Poland.
Is this all credit to the former Ukrainian SSR?
That’s where the accuracy of Ukrainian artillery is noted by our troops, that’s where the Tochka-U missile brigades know exactly where and how to advance, exactly what time to launch and how much time they have to get out of position.
That’s how the Ukrainian Nazis know where the gaps in the rear of our columns are.
It’s not their eyes and brains. It’s NATO’s eyes and brains. The Ukronazis are nothing but free controlled zombies. And the Ukrainian army is a remotely controlled zombie organism.
Naturally, the use of hypersonic Daggers and supersonic Onyxes has drastically reduced the ability to hide the most sensitive elements of this remotely controlled Nazi zombie organism.
Again, the masters of this remote-controlled Nazi zombie organism desperately need to know what innovations we have in RTR and REB (radio-technical reconnaissance and electronic warfare). Therefore, it is vital for the future victories of our Russian army to conceal these innovations.
The fact that, under these conditions, our few troops have zeroed in on the sky, taken the Saint Bayraktar factor off the map and are crushing the Ukrovermacht is an outstanding hard work of our military and home front.
This isn’t like destroying an ISIS bioreactor in Syria, no. There has never been such a war before. The tactics and strategy of this war are the subject of textbooks for military academies around the world.
Once again: the Russian army is smashing a Nazi zombie organism, fully integrated with the eyes and brain of NATO.
On the ground and in the sky, the Russian army smashes Russian zombies, brainwashed by 30 years of propaganda. Under the conditions of the total military-psychological terror machine, working for the West and raising Nazi zombies out of Russian children.
But the Russians have an outstanding resilience in combat.
Look into the future and tell me where else the maniacs of the United States and the European Union can find such infantry. How many “world’s best commandos” are left to fight after Yavorov’s calibration?
Reshetnikov L.P., Lieutenant General”
As the good LtG sees the organism of the ukraine borg under nato command, I see the US(western) borg under a khazarian command structure…

A not insignificant development.
Of the 193-member General Assembly, the last UNGA vote went 141 against Russia, 35 for.
Today’s UNGA vote (to suspend Russia’s UN Human Rights Council membership) was down to 93.
Abstentions: 58 incl. India, Brazil, S. Africa, Mexico, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia & Cambodia.
Member-states against suspension: 24 incl. Russia, China, Cuba, N. Korea, Iran, Syria, Vietnam.
pic.twitter.com/6EavdZJspc
Also interesting that 16 countries didn’t show up for the vote, among them Azerbaijan and Armenia. If you add these potential “dissenters” to the total of abstentions and countries who voted against the motion, you have a majority.
The US wins thanks to a host of bogus countries such as San Marino, Malta, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Luxemburg, Cyprus. Altogether these micro entities have 7 times the votes of China. And you can add plenty of tiny pacific islands.
Also interesting that Serbia voted against Russia.
Some of those countries like Venezuela have no representation at the UN apparently so will always be blacked out.
Noes plus Abstentions plus No Shows = equals a majority
That’s a defeat for the Enpire of Lies
Hopefully, before the nukes start flying, the US and Russia would agree on something along those lines :
– US : ok, NATO back to 1997 borders, we unfreeze your 300 billions (+ do what you want with Eurolemmings and Ukraine)
– Russia : ok, we sell all our oil and gas in USD (and to the US at a long term favourable price) + we keep on selling metals, minerals, processed uranium for US plants + we don’t mention again about your bioweapons lab in Ukraine
The, flying in the EU will become dangerous, with all those black market manpads, and angry Orcs.
Agree, the problem with what you already pointed out is that you cannot simply destroy the Petrodollar. Yes, Russia must also worked to DESTROY the USSA Militarily and its Military Industrial Complex right to the detail…. which I see that it is going to involve Nukes and major War… I don’t see any other way around.
>>>I do think that there is a level of hubris in the West that borders on insanity….
You are certainly correct in that regard.
A few days ago I read, in some ‘authoritative’ organ of the American press, that in an all-out conventional war against NATO, “Russia wouldn’t stand a chance”. I doubt if the senior NATO military ranks believe that, but the fact is that senior ‘editorial ranks’ believe it, and are doing their best to convince all others to believe it as well.
Well, the first casualty really is the truth.
About Shoigu not speaking to US MoD, yesterday TASS reported that Shoigu was talking with Turkey MoD over the phone.
Probably Turkey MoD will tell UD MoD everything, but is is clear (to me) that Shoigu can’t stomach any contact with his US couterpart, aside from the fact that it will result in nothing.
Why talk to the US crud? They will just use it as a propaganda headline that ´Russia is buckling´.
I’ve just had a moment to watch that Peskov interview with Sky news.
Peskov should not have taken that interview. He lost the imaginary war that the west has ginned up. He was not equal to a continual list of lies. Nobody could have been with an interviewer that allows only certain answers.
Peskov is not a bad man, but this one was lost before he walked in there.
Better to do like Shoigu and not take phone calls any longer. I mean we’re talking about say +- 12% of the population of the world. There is a big world out there. I truly feel Russia should now just do blanket denials and continue with their own business and the business of the rest of the world.
I watched that interview,Russia needs someone more agressive to confront those liars, that scumbag from SKY said Nato was defencive,Peskov missed an open door,he should have reminded the scumbag that the FRY was bombed for 78 days and Libya destroyed by those gangsters.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov officially confirmed that that his country’s economic relations with China aren’t as perfect as Alt-Media presents them as being.”
Peskov said “China is not our partner number one yet. Still, the EU countries are number one for us and I cannot agree with those who say that Russia is turning eastward. No, I hope Russia will never turn eastward.
Pesko is western stooge like FM lavtov
This is a very old troll that for some reason is getting through moderation today.
Apologies and kindly ignore.
Peskov treats these hysterical children as adults.
I mean what was the last time You managed to explain to a kid, that he/she can`t have an ice-cream without theatrics?
Gotta keep up the appearances I guess…hey, Lavrov can`t do it all alone…🙄
I agree. Peskov is a lovely man and “skynews” is a monster of rudeness and lies.
Zakharova should have been sent in to do the poor man’s job. She does not suffer fools, carries a deadly force of argument and takes no prisoners.
Maria Zakharova needs to be real Foreign minister of Russia instead of clueless useless big mouthy sergie lavrov who never got any thing done diplomatically good result for Russia-not even in UNO.
Pesko and Bank of Russia head are anglo agents.
Same old troll – ignore please.
@Soi: What a pitiful low ball comment, you sound full of envy & spite.
Lavrov is a titanic statesman, a true professional with an understanding of international law, history and current global relationships which leaves ALL his peer group in the dust.
Stating he has “never got anything done diplomatically” ….is cretinous, but the world of diplomacy is corrupted and hobbled as never before. As an example, see the posters comment made yesterday reporting how the diplomatic and economic corps of many African nations pleaded in public with the French foreign ministry (at a Rothschild hosted debate in Paris) to let its diplomats get to work.
I was taliking with an electrician at my workplace today, turns out he is a Lavrov fan & enjoys the detail of his speaches ‘no sounbites or waffle from him’ – I asked him what he thought of our foreign minister in the UK, he did not even know the idiots name!
So I would say Mr Lavrov is doing a better than good job in an almost imposible situation, who else could remain as calm, factual and detailed as him, while only ever being rude/ openly critical in ways that are entertainingly subtle and inteligent?
Peskov is pathetic, when it comes to interacting with western media, he is totally incompetent. He appeared on BBC Hardtalk a few years back & was walked all over by the host – Peskov basically did nothing to prepare for an interview he knew would be predatory in nature. Why? Because he wanted to appear as a reasonable. Why? I have no idea. Apparently he has family in the west, a daughter in London? I am not sure about that one & care so little I can’t even be bothered to Google it to verify, apparently Lavrov does as well & that may go some way to explaining his infuriating degree of passivity & gentlemanly conduct when dealing with western media whores. I understand the need to maintain control & rationale, one doesn’t have to go to extremes like Zhirinovsky used to, but there is so much ammunition one could fire at the western media given half the chance, just have a copy of William Blum’s Rogue State to hand to go through the history of US military aggression, or better yet the truly superb Ward Churchill 9/11 When Chickens Come Home to Roost – that book is a must read. Were Peskov & Lavrov at all interested in really handling a blow against western propaganda, they would come at them more assertively. Lavrov has taken a slightly harder line recently, in accordance with Russian government policy, but I always get the sense that Lavrov (like Peskov) just does not want to offend anyone in the west. They just want the west to like them. It fills me with disgust. I remember a few years ago a Russian journalist, I can’t remember her name, berating Lavrov & giving him a real dressing down for being totally servile to the west, Lavrov just couldn’t adequately respond, & in the end, he days to the woman “you would have us in conflict with the west.” I just thought for the love of God. And look where we are today, & where Lavrov finds himself. Peskov is just a pro-western idiot, I don’t know why Putin keeps him, I guess it’s the same with Nabulina, I know Putin knows what he is doing & no doubt has his reasons, but I personally would have fired Peskov years ago. I know a pro-western 5 columnist when I see one, & Peskov is one of them.
I agree with you there.I haven’t trusted him for years. There can be only two reasons for him still being in that position. Either Putin is loyal to him because he’s been with him for years. Or he agrees with him more than not. Either one of those reasons present problems of there own for a country at war.
I agree with you Uncle Bob, 100 per cent, it could just be that Peskov is good at other things, he may be good at administrative stuff relating to his PR function, who knows? One thing is for certain, Putin keeps him around for a good reason, of that I have no doubt. Not because Putin is flawless, but his judgement in these matters I have a high degree of confidence in, if he keeps someone on who at least to our distant perception should have been gone years ago, say like Nabulina, there is definitely a good reason for it. Lavrov is certainly competent, & how he handles negotiations we have no way of knowing but I get the impression he is very good, but his PR performance – especially with the western media, English speaking in particular – is damn awful. The number of times I’ve seen Lavrov totally miss an opportunity to score major propaganda points at press conferences & interviews, there are countless instances. He just does not do a good job on the propaganda front, I would go as far as to say he’s pretty awful. And I am not one who agrees with the overall claims about Russia losing a propaganda war in general terms, & in relation to Operation Z, because here I do not think the Kremlin is at all even thinking about participating in a propaganda war, their attitude seems to be, the west can say & think whatever the hell it wants, we don’t care, that’s why we’re not answering their phonecalls. In years gone by however, there have been many a missed opportunity by people like Lavrov & not to say idiot Peskov, to actually do some good on the propaganda front, & they failed, & failed miserably.

Are these three identical posts a key slip/system error?
If not, can you identify who you’re referring to? Wondering if it might be me, which the post hierarchy suggests it to be, is somewhat perplexing.
The mods must have deleted the offending posts and did not delete mine. (with pleasure they should have wacked me too!)
It was quite a day yesterday :-) I made a fat finger error as well – a whole other story – end is, had to beg some for forgiveness.

When the Russians said they were pulling forces from the Kiev area to show goodwill with the talks with Ukraine,i saw a video of a Russian unit ambushed on the way out, from what i saw it was a small unit, some wounded were murdered by the Ukrainian Nazis, what i don’t understand is surely the Russian military should have anticipated the ambush, once the move was announced the Ukraininas would have had a good idea of which road the Russians would be coming down,or am i missing something?
I would say that a mistake made in the battlefield, yes, Russian Army must be extremely extremely cautious next time, spy could be anywhere near them (not to mention satellites, drones).
Also, the soldiers on the ground might not at all time realize that or forgot! My God! those Chechen need to remind their comrades, what they are facing is the manifestation of evil and satans on the shape of UkroNazis! They are not human, they WILL instantly kill anyone who they see as their enemies.
May prayer goes to them, if they had to die, may those soldiers die as Martyrs in the cause of just! May Heaven becomes their resting place.
Actually, about half of Ukrainian army fighting in Eastern Ukraine right now are ethnical Russians, likewise about half of the combined Russian-LDNR forces are ethnical Ukrainians. This is the sad truth.
Yesterday, in the vicinity of Kiev, an old very small and thin Ukrainian woman was given food by Ukrainian soldiers, one of them stepped on a Soviet flag used in the Great Patriotic war against the German Reich. She carefully put the food back at his feet and said: “My parents sacrificed their lives under this flag and you stepped on it. I do not want your food”.
Nothing there is as simple as it looks from afar.
I saw that Video about old woman were given a plastic bag by UkroNazis, then she put it down, I thought they took it back from her… May her prayers are being accepted by the Lord God, may Russian Army and Chechen liberate the area soon! And kill all the UkroNazis left!
Also, Martyanov mentioned that some in the Ukraine Army are just grunts… But I think, in a so phenomenal moment like this, even grunts handling Kalashnikov should stand up against immoral and injustice, eventhough they must pay it with their lives. But, who am I to judge…
No, they did not take the food from her, they were stunned and confused, she was so frail and yet so brave and determined. I am a tough person, but my eyes filled at that sight.
If I were to make decisions, I would put the photo of that old Ukrainian woman on every Russian- LDNR vehicle. She did in the information war more than anyone else – Ukrainian blogs, save for Kievan regime ones are full of comments.
Dig around for the meme already created with her. She’s been illustrated with her shadow as the Mother Russia statue.
I’m afraid of three things when they’re angry: bears, Russian babushkas and now Chechens.
After UN-brokered deals for the Yugoslav army to leave Bosnia, the Bosnian Muslims ambushed them, then finished off the survivors in the streets or took them to concentration camps. This happened in both Sarajevo and Tuzla near the beginning of that war, as the “international community” pressured the Yugoslav army to leave, which they did only 2.5 months into that war – and of course the fighting got worse after they left.
The Bosnian Muslims also regularly staged attacks, killing civilians inside the zone they controlled, and the media would blame the Bosnian Serbs. Yet UN officers and reports have them fully away of the Bosnian Muslims sniping civilians in Sarajevo as well as mortars fired from their positions killing civilians in Sarajevo. British politician David Owen even witnessed these staged attacks (where people were killed) when he went on a tour of Sarajevo. The Bosnian Muslims were so desperate to make Serbs look bad for important westerners that they set up one attack after another along his tour. However, his UN escorts and sometimes he himself spotted them on the rooftops or heard the outgoing fire and released it was launched quite close, much too close to be from Serb positions miles away.
Reading this and following the events from the start, I’m still surprised that most of us don’t realize that what is going on is WW3. If you look at the picture what has always been classified as world wars have always been the Western wars escalated to cover the rest of the world. And the principal aggresors have always been the same: Europe, the USA and Japan. The same forces have now come together, using gullible Ukraine as a battering rod as they wage another battle. I’m certain that the Russian Authority understands this very well. And realizes that they are not fighting puny Ukraine but the whole collective West and its disgraceful Asian vassals,Japan, South Korea, et al.
It’s clear that this fight is between the collective West and the rest of the world. Although the corrupt third world leaders could not articulate the thoughts of their citizens. Apart from the brain-washed West the rest of the world is rooting for Russia’s success in this conflict. Because Russia is the only power, at this time, that can checkmate the West’s delusional hegemony.
I do, most of us do here I`d guess…dunno what makes You say that…
Not really WW3 IMHO, since it is just over a month, and it is contained up to today in the limited Ukraine territory…. Even if it lasted a year, we could still not saying that it is going to be a real WW3… Since Syrian war is going more than 11 years now… People also said that Syrian war would turned into a WW3, didn’t happen.
Plus, the West created too much hot spots, mainly Syria-Iran, Yemen and North Korea-China-India. They don’t have the power to do anything if all those regional power decide to end all globalization BS and launch their strikes on very important spots on their neighbors. Iran close to Israel, Yemen is neighboring arab oil rich countries, NK-China would create nightmares for Japs & SK. If, just IF, Russia fked by NATO & USSA, then I don’t think the rest of regional power would just watch and sit… waiting for their turn… So, let’s pray that Russian Army and those Chechen perform well till the end. May God be on their sides.
I am on record as saying WW3 started with the attack on the FRY,many friends thought i was crazy.
It may be of interest to have a look at the daily maps and commentary provided by the young man who runs Defence Politics Asia. He must be doing something right, because You Tube is suppressing him! His current impression is that Russia is seeking to make the encirclement along the border of the Donetsk region. That would enable them to claim their minimum objective. He also points to a further loss of helicopters by Ukraine, and of long range Bayraktar drones.

Marioupol still not captured
The cauldron not closed at all
Ukrainian army is still able to move and fight
Kiev and northern Ukraine evacuated
All pro Russian leaders in Europe are now vilified
For the next 10 years at l’East thé UE will be fully vassalized by the USA
It’s a political and diplomatical debacle. Thousand of people died on both sides for nothing relevant.
Cauldron is not physicaly closed, but the only escape route goes through plain terrain, which is entierly controlled by Russian air force. Anyone who dares to escape with heavy equipment will be destroyed.
So I don’t why are complaining? Ukies are entreched there for like 7 years and they are not moving anywhere. Also there out of fuel and Kiev has no reserves to help them or unlock them.
Mariupol had like 15-20 thousand Ukie troops. You have to mop up every house and hole in the ground from Nazis and boobie traps. You can’t rush it like back then in Grozny. The time is running out for Ukies not for Russians. Rushing in and loosing troops and armour is stupid, mr armchair general.
Which if true makes it all the more baffling why the Russians would choose now to focus on destroying the cauldron rather than leaving it effectively sealed off while they focus on conquering the western part of the country, a necessity if the goals of denazification and permanently driving out all imperial power are to be attained.
But it looks like they’re doing the opposite, and if Lavrov and Peskov are to be believed, this retrograde motion implicitly toward a much-diminished goal was imposed on the fly by the political leadership for the sake of proving their bona fides at these “negotiations”.
They wish to STOP the Ukie forces from shelling the people of Donbass! NEWS FLASH: Russia “invaded” Ukraine in order to protect these people. Russian troops cannot do that without controlling the flanks and rear.
Russia came in with 40k to 60k (and then, perhaps, 15k? Chechens). No modern military is going to go to battle with such small forces, especially not against a well-entrenched and equipped force. They do NOT have enough troops to fully control all the lines, which is why there is a “Phase 2” in which a LOT more Russian troops will be deployed.
I would recommend paying closer attention to understanding military strategies, and to what Russia has stated are its goals and methods (overwhelmingly these all line up).
It was important to break the spirit of Ukies by going for Kiev in the first day. Also they were blocking many Ukie forces nearby and keeping them being confused, about true goals of the special operation, which was primarly Donbas. It was also important to secure Chernobyl.
Maybe they are better words to describe it, but I am no military expert.
We will see also if Lavrov and Peskov aren’t just confusing Ukies.
You’re chatting like this SMO has been dragging on for years and years with no end in sight and each side cancelling each other out.
It’s been 6 weeks.
As the original post makes more clear than ever, the longer this drags out the more effectively the empire will organize its assistance to the Ukrainians and the more weapons (and more potent weapons) they’ll be able to convey to the UAF.
Not to mention how the longer the hot war drags on, the greater confidence and support will accrue to the US faction which has wanted to escalate to a hot war with Russia from day one of the SMO, not to mention the greater the chance of an accident (or “accident”) leading to direct shooting or a nuclear use.
And nothing would be changing from the Russian perspective, they’d be passive observers? No, the Russians will be continuing to advance and control more land. You cannot get equipment into a battle field if supply lines are controlled by the “enemy” [Russia]. The time delay isn’t about any military battle…
The BIG PICTURE is that this is actually an economic war. As Russia’s economy strengthens the US’s and the EU’s weakens. The longer THIS drags on the more internal instability -uprisings- in western countries. << – THIS IS THE BIG CONCERN, it's why a "short war" cannot happen, as the only "short war" possible that could remotely be viewed as being winnable by the US/West is a nuclear one, and I believe that the US/West really isn't willing to go there (many would want to try, but military leaders in the ranks would likely step up and smack this down [perhaps via a military coup]). The best that can be done as this time all unfolds is to, therefore, propagandize for the purpose of establishing post-war control over populations.
IF, as I suspect, the nuclear option is off the table, then the military war is pretty much over. Consider that a chess game can be won in the first couple of moves and then after that point one just has to finish out the game in order to make it official. The economic war appears to also be won by the non-West, though the war pieces aren't quite in open view for the general populations to see.
The West wants to drag things along in order to better condition its populations for the eventual outcome: and to allow its oligarchs to make their getaway plans in order. The US and its sidekick NATO friends' countries don't want to put their countries' troops IN Ukraine. They know that they cannot win. They'll continue to push their mercenaries [Ukrainian troops] to fight [to buy time]. BUT, all in the West will experience the war in the form of hardships from losing the economic war: this part of reality is just now starting to peak through the cracks.
This isn't a TV show that'll be over in an hour.
Dios te oiga. I don’t know if there’s a translation for that. God willing? (= Dios mediante). Cheers!
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/7547487.html
Translate and enjoy. Hope that after reading this you can be more assured that the Russians are on schedule ;)
So then Russia should obliterate rail transport in Western Ukraine found to be transporting Nazo weapons and anywhere else they are found in Western Ukraine, just like when Mr Kalibr went for a walk and destroyed that proxy Nazo base near Liviv. its time to get brutal and leave those rats in no doubt the outcome will only go one way.
The US took 3 weeks to reach Baghdad, but to do so skipped around most Iraqi forces and only “took” Baghdad by rushing small units into government areas/buildings, finding them empty, and then declaring victory. Following that, it “dissolved” the Iraqi military it bypassed on the way to Baghdad. How did that work out for the US in the short, medium or long term in Iraq?
And as of ~10 days ago, DoD said Russia still hadn’t equaled the air sorties or air munition drops of the US on the first day of the 2003 Iraq invasion. Worth also remembering that the US softened Iraq up for two weeks before the actual invasion force took the field.
If Russia’s goal is to demilitarize Ukraine, the only way is to destroy Ukraine’s military. I’m willing to assume that the primary lesson the Russian general staff takes from the US invasion of Iraq is precisely that. Given that the Ukrainians has recreated WWI conditions along the Donbas front, it might take a minute.
@Prince Andrew
It took coalition forces 1,5 month to gain control of 3 times smaller Fallujah and Yanks didn’t care that much about civilian population.
At the same time Russians have almost cleared Mariupol in one month. It could even take 2 weeks for leveling Azovstal and they are still ahead of the schedule. And people are still complaining that Russian army underperforms. LOL
All true, although it’s still only one month in. This will take several, if not years. Ultimately Russia will prevail though what will be left after such a ‘victory’ remains to be seen. One thing for sure – and it is no small thing: the people living in the Donbass region will no longer face regular shelling with attendant death and destruction.
There are no winners in war, though.
All are diminished.
So far, I’d say China and India are doing best. They will emerge far stronger.
And once Russia completes a pivot to Central and Eastern Eurasia she too will rise again now unburdened by fruitless entanglements with a Western bloc which is so hopelessly confused with hubris and fifth column induced neurosis that she needs to lie fallow a few generations before anything healthy can grow again there. Sad but true.
This is the culmination of the Great War which began in 1914. Basically, the West has been destroyed as the enemies within her have always been plotting and scheming for.
And after this ends, the Western theater will no longer be front and center. A new world will emerge from the ashes of the old.
The biggest challenge, seemingly, is to ensure that in her death throes the Old Order doesn’t try to nuke all of us into oblivion, the so-called Samson option. Hopefully the Eurasians have a 100% effective asymmetric and kinetic answer for any such attempts.
“For the next 10 years at l’East thé UE will be fully vassalized by the USA”
And whose fault exactly is that?
Seriously, you want to hold Russia accountable for the EU’s endemic and terminal levels of corruption?
Such assertion is simply either idiotic or mischievous.
Ukrops have shot at civilians at railway station in Kramatorsk, killing 30 of them, with Point missile and now they are putting the blame on Russia again.
Yes, the blame is quickly put on Russia, despite the fact that only Ukrainians have and are using “Tochka U”.
I see that You Tube has deleted the account of Yuri, the Ukrainian with a map. Has he popped up anywhere else?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FUPxT6lAxDE
His backup channel. Also in the first comment there is a list of his other accounts and rutube channel.
@AndrewK
Thank you for that. (I found his rutube, but it does not seem to have the auto-translate facility.)
All Yuriy’s youtube accounts have been permanently erased. He is on Telegram – yurasumi.

Ukr claims a russian attack on a rail station Kramatorsk killing civilians….found very conveniently some old looking remains and placed them on scene it suggests …in their efforts to create a blame game have genocided their own civilians….stop further civilian evacuations to force local to stay and fight be human shields .Rus would attack rail yards tracks junctions etc not civilians queuing to leave ……

It is yet another Kiev war crime. They have used Point U.
Sarajevo could have been captured and the war could have been ended in 1992 by Mladic’ forces (and with much less casualties) if politicians had not stopped him. Every time the Serbs were winning, the west had to cry for a cease fire.
And don’t forget the west used Yeltsin to get the Bosnian Serbs to back off at their high point (when they controlled the most land). The Russians seem ignorant of how their country went along with the western destruction of Yugoslavia because today they are condemning Serbia for the vote saying how they stood up for Yugoslavia in the 90s when they did the opposite, including going along with severely damaging sanctions against Yugoslavia/Serbia.
Could one of the military experts enlighten me? Is the Iskander-M a cluster-bomb? And if intercepted, can a such bomb still do harm?
I came across the following messages:
https://t.me/Novoeizdanie/10104
The shelling of the railway station in Kramatorsk by a cluster-bomb: 30 dead are reported
https://www.pravda.com.ua/rus/news/2022/03/9/7329798/
The Russians launched “Iskanders” at Kramatorsk, but the missiles were shot down
Removed – disinfo site. Mod.
Military observers have established that it is an Iskander ballistic missile with a cluster warhead.
Why should the Russians use forbidden cluster-bombs? They have better gear, as far as I know.
RT DE states (https://t.me/DruschbaFM/874): Ukraine shells city of Kramatorsk and blames Russia
Ukrainian forces shelled the city of Kramatorsk in the Donbass. At least 30 people are reported to have been killed. Ukrainian propaganda is again trying to blame Russia for the tragedy. It hardly seems creditable.
https://t.me/intelslava/24688
Here are 3 photos,
1) A Tochka U rocket (that only Ukraine, not Russia, are using).
2) Photo of the rocket that fell in Kramatorsk
3) Iskander rocket, clearly without the fins, that Tochka U has.
It is all propaganda. Some citizen of Kramatorsk took a picture of the missile and its is clearly Ukrainian Point U and Zelensky already changed story.
Probably this missile had cluster warhead, which even after being intercepted it still could cause a lot of damage like in Donetsk.

My question is, why you people are spreading MSN BS here at Saker’s site? If you still trust MSN media after 8 years of biased coverage of war in Donbas then something is wrong. Like if all those Saker’s texts were written for nothing.
AndrewK – by now you must know! Please do not post links to South Front. They are banned by the US State Dept and this blog must keep to those laws.
Ok. Amarynth moderate and remove the links. I live in the EU. I dont want to cause you trouble.
Why saker blog server still reside in the US?
Kiev forces attacked their own train station to prevent civvie‘s from leaving. Not the first time this has happened in a siege environment.
During the siege of Sarajevo, the UN documented numerous times when the Muslims attacked their own people.
@ Frappa
You should confront information with reliable sources before posting it here, posting links to anti-Russian PSYOPS outlets like “MIG News” is only helping them with their misinformation.
Here is Colonel Cassad on this issue. See pictures. If you have seen other pictures of a Tochka-U, and there are plenty going around, you will recognize this one as such, and dismiss the fake news about an Iskander. Iskander is a totally different beast altogether, just FYI.
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/7546370.html
Provocation in Kramatorsk
Briefly on Kramatorsk.
1. As a result of the arrival of a tactical missile at the Kramatorsk railway station, 30 civilians were killed and about 100 wounded.
2. Ukraine immediately stated that it was Russia that fired at people in a hurry to evacuate and it was an Iskander with a cluster warhead.
3. When photos of rocket fragments appeared, it turned out that it was “Tochka-U”, which is used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Zelensky then changed his shoes and began to claim that it was not “Iskander”, as Arestovich and Kirilenko broadcast, but “Tochka-U”, only Russian.
4. In the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Tochka-U have been officially removed from the armament of missile brigades in connection with the transition to Iskanders. There is not a single video with the combat use of the “Tochek-U” of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or the armies of the DPR and LPR in the Donbas (even if we assume that they will begin to get from the bases of long-term storage) At the same time, there are a lot of videos of the combat use of the Iskander and other types of missiles. At the same time, Ukraine uses Tochka-U everywhere, including for a strike on Donetsk, where the SBU specifically for this blow gathered a rally through dummy people in social networks.
5. The missile, presumably, came from the south-west. According to one source. was shot down. For others, it worked normally. On the rocket everything was the inscription “For children”
6. It is also worth noting that the population of Donbass, including Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, is considered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be disloyal (in Ukraine, residents of Donbass are actually deprived of voting rights), so they can easily be sacrificed.

Hope that helps to settle the matter.

It’s truly devastating to hear that more than 30 deads! 100 injuries! How would the western audiences say about it? Collateral damage? I Think any sane civilization will condemn such cowardice acts! Now it is more than enough dead, no more reasons needed, no more spare soul for UkroNazis after this event! Especially those Jewlensky and his friends, they had better be dead as dead as Saddam and Gaddafi for the west! That’s the end, of this war, the sane side of the world would love to see publicly!
THX for the explanation. I didn’t intend to spread Fake News/Ukrainian Propaganda, but was asking for information, because what I read didn’t make sense.
I am an absolute nitwit in military matters, but nonetheless trying to search for truth. I don’t want to dismiss all the Ukrainians are saying as a lie, though I should maybe have learned better in the meantime.
So sorry for the confusion
Frappa
In no way am I in disagreement with the actual facts, but…
That the Russians don’t have the Tochka-U in their military does not mean that they could not have used one. One could readily flip this around to be a reverse false-flag and thus present the “prove a negative” trap. So, I’d hope that people hold back on using this “fact” (again, I do not dispute that the Russian military is not using these missiles), just wanting to advise of the potential trap of being forced to in trying to prove a negative.
That the Ukranian forces have been using these missiles is a stronger fact.
The FIRST question, however, should always be of motive: Cui Bono?
Cui Bono ?
Kiev forces do not want civvies to leave. If civvies are gone, then Kiev zone of operations becomes a free fire zone. A typical situation in a siege.
Just read that the Kramatorsk station was hit by a Tochka-U:
https://t.me/MFARussia/12287
“Russian Defence Ministry denies statements made by Kiev regime about an alleged missile attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Region
[…]
We emphasize in particular that Tochka-U tactical missiles, the wreckage of which was found near the Kramatorsk railway station and published by eyewitnesses, are used by Ukrainian Armed Forces only.”
I get the impression that the Ukrainian side is lying at least in 50% of the cases, while the Russian don’t say anything if they don’t know for sure. Meanwhile we are forgetting that human beings are killed and nor the Ukrainian government, nor the US government give a damn. The fog of war…
Kramatorsk station hit by Tochka missile from Ukraine army (no longer in service in Ru army).
And that missile flew from Ukrainian army position. It seems it is yet another atempt to buy time for loosing forces of Ukraine.
A little hard evidence here .. of course, one cannot hide one’s voice too well. These guys are public now.
Well done RT journo’s – intercepted phone calls between Ukrainian security officials and western journalists that contradict MSM claims of Moscow’s guilt in atrocities near Bucha and reveal looting by Ukrainian forces.
Worth while listening to I thought and very carefully explained: https://t.me/rtnews/23307
Kind of reminds me of the ‘intercepted’ call between the Yank ambassador to Ukraine and Cookies Nuland.
The cat was out of the bag then, as it is now.

”…The U.S. by the way says that Russia has not responded to any calls from the Pentagon since February:
https://www.rt.com/news/553500-pentagon-russia-phone-silent/
General Milley keeps calling, and Russia is not answering.
The fact that Russia “is not answering the phone” is old news, it is across the board, not only at the Ministry of Defense, and for RT to highlight that, it only further exposes RT’s one foot on Russia’s 5th column, misguiding people to pay attention to the gossip, instead of what is essential.
Hidden in the 5th paragraph is the following item, which should have been highlighted as the headline, instead, it was relegated to almost the end of the article. Biden is going to use Russia’s special operation on 404 to feed the gluttonous MIC beast with billions of taxpayers money to prolong the war against Russia, their R&D coffers bloated to the brim for their Buck Rogers’ useless trash, read F-35/hypersonic weapons endless testing failures.
For the neo-con zio-nazis, it is the realization of their dream. Now they will have the money and the power to launch their operations worldwide, using the US army as a tool for “Full Spectrum Dominance,” what Gen. Butler appropriately called racketeering. What is the purpose of the Pentagon’s largest budget request in history? Arming Eurostan with US weapons systems increasing their vassal state, create rag-tag “armies” a la ISIS/Azov “battalion” et al, wherever possible in the surroundings of Russia/China, justify interventions in their “backyard” to avoid countries opposing their policies to line up with Russia/China.
Target: Russia/China
Preparations for total war are now in the open, CJCS Milley announced the other day the likelihood of a major conflict between great powers, adding that Russia/China “challenge the current world order,” a claim made by “top American military officers.”
That’s the real reason for the Pentagon’s 2023 budget “largest request in US history.”

No such thing as tax payers money.
It is a myth based on the same propaganda used by the West to fight this war.
Where do people get the money from that they then use to pay their taxes ?
Clue: It is written on every bank note where it comes from.

Tax payers money was one of the biggest lies every created in modern history.
@ Billy
You missed the point, not worth it to engage you by answering your comment.
Lone Wolf
Lone Wolf,
I did get your point and thought it was excellent. It was very good so couldn’t have missed it.
Hoever, when you use the tax payers money myth
a) It weakens your argument
b) You are using their propaganda.
c) Thus play into their framing and narratives. When we should be tearing down their lies. Not supporting them.
Billy I assume you’re a proponent of MMT, as I see you always mention it. Presumably you’re aware that MMT is a fraud and you can’t just print money infinitely because that increases inflation, right? You CAN do it only if the productivity also commensurately increases to the extent where fewer labor hours produces more actual ‘goods’ because it offsets it to an extent, which is actually exactly what happened in the era roughly between end of WW2 to the modern era of globalization. Every central bank printed money infinitely, well beyond the actual ‘tax receipts’ of the home country (perpetual budget deficit) and the inflation of course rose steadily at a high rate, which is why cars in the 70’s might cost $5000, then in the 80’s $10,000, in the 2000’s 20-30,000 etc etc. But this was roughly offset by the fact that increased efficiency of production, refinement and streamlining of manufacturing created more for less, so the high inflation was offset by the fact that your diminishing dollar value could still purchase cheaper and cheaper goods because those goods were costing less and less to produce. Once this reached its natural end, globalization continued the pace because once you could no longer streamline western factories to keep up, you could now offshore them to 3rd world countries and produce the goods ten times cheaper, once more keeping the purchasing power of the dollar afloat. But now even that has come to an end. And in today’s world, MMT would simply collapse the global financial system and in fact it’s already current doing that because the federal reserve has already been practicing hyper MMT since the 2008 crash era and it has even increased it orders of magnitude beyond during the Covid falseflag era. And of course the current skyrocketing hyperinflation we’re now experiencing will be blamed on the Russian ‘war’ but in fact it’s a product of the MMT you appear to support/espouse.
Night vision,
MMT is not something you move to it is a description how things work.
So not a fraud 100% accurate. Free from ideology and politics using the actual Balance sheets. The assets and liabilities.
QE is NEVER something MMT economists would support or using interest rates and it is NEVER about just printing money. QE isn’t money printing it is an asset swap.
Ask Michael Hudson he will tell you exactly the same thing.
So NOBODY has been doing what MMT economists advise since 2008. They have all been doing the exact opposite.
As explained here by MMT economists in 2020.
https://multiplier-effect.org/what-mmt-is-and-why-we-should-not-wait-for-the-next-crisis-to-live-up-to-our-means/#more-14574
The inflation isn’t caused by MMT economists. It is caused by the broken supply chains because of the pandemic. Nothing to do.with bigger budget deficits which are just private sector savings.
Why would larger household savings cause inflation ?
They are savings not being spent.
In fact most of the savings were used to pay down debt. Credit card cebt, loans, mortgages during the pandemic.
Because households could buy very few goods and services during the pandemic because the high street and restaurants and cinemas etc were closed.
Once again as explained here by MMT economists – How to fix the supply chains and ease inflation.

The propaganda by Wall Street and the banks try and blame MMT. The same people who have launched the propaganda campaign against Russia.

It would be easier to follow the commentary if the maps showed place names in Latin letters for those of us ignorami (probably the majority) who don’t know Russian and can’t read Russian letters!
Sorry, me again. I just looked more closely at the map in the present article and it does show place names in Latin script, as well as Cyrillic. So please disregard my previous post. DOH!
Just google cyrrilic alphabeth, and then exchange the letters. I mean, seriously, how hard can it be?
Instead, you demand that the persons, who take so much of their time to produce these maps, to spend even more time to change the letters on every map, so that you can save a few minutes.
And besides, what is wrong with learning to read Russian names, or learning to read russian altogether?
I am sorry if I sound overly critical, but really, I can’t understand your lack of own responsibility and endeavour…
Ian Kummer from The Reading Junkie makes an interesting speculation that the US disinformation might also be for domestic US consumption, that there are fault lines in America:
“Disinformation targets the enemy, finding and exploiting hairline fractures in their government and society. We assume that enemy is Russia but maybe that’s not true at all. Maybe, instead, there are clear fault lines and factions within our own western societies and government organs, and that’s what the disinformation is all about.
“Here me out. The bewildering whirlwind of fake news and lies are consistent with a turf war within the US government itself. The Pentagon wants a more hands-off approach to Ukraine. Yes, the Pentagon spreads absurd propaganda, but it’s consistently more pragmatic and (sort of) more grounded in reality. The civilian organs of our government in the State Department and “intelligence community” are shrill and hysterical.
“This isn’t even the first time these two factions have come into open, literal conflict with each other. In Syria, militias trained by the Pentagon fought against militias trained by the CIA. How bizarre! American-sponsored militias fighting other American-sponsored militias. How long will it be before we start seeing open warfare between Ukrainian nazi units trained by the CIA and moderate army units trained by the Pentagon? That would be hilarious. Anyway, as strange as that sounds, it makes sense if we understand that this is a proxy war. Not exactly a proxy war against Russia, though that’s also true (and not mutually exclusive). It’s a proxy war between the conservative and liberal factions of the American government.
“The Pentagon wants Ukraine to be the next Afghanistan (see my post here), an endless proxy war to justify more military spending and lucrative troop deployments to Eastern Europe. A deployment to Eastern Europe is a gift from heaven. Those deployments are expensive and require substantial budget increases, and without the difficulties that come with a real war involving people shooting at you. Soldiers can go and flirt with sexy Polish girls and not actually have to do anything.“

Hey, anyone catch the chick that was in the Lira vid, the supposed hottie, you can hear her voice around the vid end and she is on camera around the 5.36 mark. Actor….hmm, still got that Kafka on and no helmet. How about an ad-hoc translation of what they are saying….

Thanks again for this superb report, Nightvision. It is truly very informative! Let us hope this war concludes soon.
I quite like Nightvision’s SITREPs, but I don’t find them fully convincing.
A complete analysis would start by comparing the forces in presence and estimating the level of force necessary to break through and close the cauldron. There is a distinct lack of quantitative estimates. I have read a French blog where this seems to be done more thoroughly. I am not convinced that in terms of manpower, Russia has enough forces amassed.
Right now we can only hope for a deus ex machina, a massive offensive of the Russian forces. But I’m getting more and more doubts it will happen. Since beginning of March we’re being assured that the cauldron is closed, but I have the impression it is much more difficult than that.
I must say overall it’s shaping up as a disappointment. But as they say : the issue is not so much in encountering failure, the real test is what you learn from your failures.
Considering what the Russian army is up against, they are doing very well indeed. I suspect you are in fact disappointed by their success. Or does anybody really believe one can eliminate thousands of terrorists in a couple of days? Compared with all previous modern conflicts, Russia is gaining rather fast you know! So stop this “concern-trolling”!
Micron .. here is where you are making a huuuuuge mistake. Let me quote:
“A complete analysis would start by comparing the forces in presence and estimating the level of force necessary ……. ”
This is not analysis, but a situation report.
Anyway, if you are so inclined, please do the analysis and estimations for us ..
Micron,
Very crude estimate the Kiev Regime has 3//6 combat brigades ‘in theory’ since many of these brigades are now understrength. Kiev also has gang pressed Volksturm and can call on some Territorials. Figure 10 – 20,000 combat capable troops.
The cauldron is very roughly 80km by 80km. The line of contact facing East aopear to have WWI western front style fortifications in depth. Likely massive pre-positioned stores. My wild guess is the Kiev forces are frantically creating fortifications facing West, also in depth. The Volksturm is moderately useful in this type of static emplacement battle.
The peacekeepers and their Ukrainian Allie have around 50,000 combat forces plus another 40,000 support troops.
Please, translate and enjoy:

Has lots of info, some of it from today, to satisfy your thirst for numbers!
“C’mon man!” It took the US twenty years to lose the war in Afghanistan and as many years to lose the war in Vietnam. True it took them only 9 years to lose the war in Iraq and be asked to leave.
Why would you expect Russia to lose the war in less time?
Why would you expect Russia to lose it at all?
She is not known for losing wars.
When a few missiles landed in Russia 10 days or so ago this was Russia’s cue to hit the US/NATO embassy/command in Lviv , coupled with strikes on NATO assets in Poland ( resupply infrastructure/routes ) & Romania. Shock & Awe!
US/NATO must suffer losses/casualties in order for this to end. What’s not to understand here, Russians are dying, Americans, not?
Russia must shake off any remaining slave mentality/ respect and do unto America what they are doing to you, which is killing Russians by proxy.
If the US had the kinzhal’s then 10’s of million of Russians would be dead by now.
Micron brain you don’t take note of facts, but instead whine defeatedly.
You seem to fancy yourself as an expert so let’s hear your sage advice the Russian military planners.
I’ll readily admit that I’m not qualified as a military analyst. I’m totally incapable of providing a realistic scenario of what could/should be done.
What I note is that there are anti-Russian military analysts who at least are presenting estimates of the forces in presence and try to forecast the future. Unsurprisingly, their forecasts predict that Russia will not be able to achieve a significant breakthrough due to insufficient density and inability to form a real “Schwerpunkt”.
I feel frustrated by the fact that there is not a comparable high-level analysis done by Russian-friendly, or more neutral, analysts, which could refute this and demonstrate, on the basis of available BTG, troop strength, firepower, how the next weeks will unfold. A previous Sitrep by Nightvision had provided some hints through the UA war map. But right now what we have is more a collection of events, the overall meaning of the battlefield, ratios of forces, and so on is not addressed.
The basic fact is this : prior to the war, it was routinely claimed that Russia could rout Ukraine in a few days. During March, complete encirclement and destruction of the Eastern AFU was predicted “for the coming days”. Marioupol was supposed to fall “in the next 2-3 days” since 20th of March.
I know what some will say, that these were just statements by individuals and that we don’t know the actual war plans of the Russian government. But the issue is precisely this, it seems nobody is able to predict with some kind of accuracy the events on the ground, and the interpretation of reality given by the Russophobes seems to more closely match with said reality than the predictions of the Russian-friendly camp.
Please note that I have no strong convictions of what will happen. It’s more the following :
– between day 1 and day 3 of the SMO I was 99% convinced that ukraine would fold in one week
– between day 3 and day 20 I was 90% convinced that Marioupol would fall quickly and that Russia would achieve a sweeping victory in the east, and blockade completely Kiev and Kharkov
– since day 20 my confidence is decreasing. Right now I would say that
– I am 90% confident that Russia will hold the Kherson oblast and the south, I don’t see the Ukies able to mount significant offensive actions
– I am 95% confident that Mariupol will be taken, but damn does it take a long time
– I am 0% confident that Russia can conquer Kiev
– I am 20% confident that Russia can conquer Kharkov
– I am 60% confident that Russia will encircle and destroy the Eastern Ukie forces. When I see the difficulties in reducing Mariupol, what are the chances of breaking 70.000 Ukrainian troops ? The only trump card would be if they’re really short on fuel, but we’re 8/4 and I don’t see them experiencin shortages in fuel or ammo yet.
To me the likelihood of a stalemate grows by the day. That’s what really worries me.
Same as before…
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/7547487.html
Translate and enjoy. Hope that after reading this you can be more assured that the Russians are on schedule ;)
@micron,
I addressed all your comments on a previous thread yet here you are – again – repeating the same points previously addressed as nauseum.
At what point does this behaviour emulate trolling?
You mean, Missiles on NATO’s HQ? No…
But,
Hundred of Missiles on NATO’S HQ? go ahead!
The Russians have shown us in Syria that they have huge tolerance to extreme provocations.
Patience my friend, as we speak the Ruskies are taking their gloves off….
Rumor says Ukraine has executed all Russian POWs.
Hope its not true.
But probably it is.
In that case Russia shouldn’t take prisoners either.
And kiev should be hit very hard ASAP.
ASAP, yes!
If you follow the Chechen on Kadyrov’s telegram channel, you will hear much that Chechen preferred to use the words “Shaitan / Satan” when referring to the UkroNazis Bandera ‘cursed on hell forever’ army. You know how horrendous their acts towards Russian forces and Civilians, which only Satan is able to do something so terrible and unimaginable… Also ISIS Takfiris Wahabi and IDF Child killer are fortunately coming from the same pool.

Great summary as usual.
“The entire project has been in development for a very long time and it is the culmination of the western empire’s attempts to destroy Russia”
They sure are busy but is not the quote below from Pepe going to be the culmination of the west’s determination to destroy Russia? :
“the whole Ukraine issue is over hypersonic missiles that can reach Moscow in less than four minutes. The US wants them there, in Poland, Romania, Baltic States, Sweden, Finland . . .The US does not have hypersonic missiles now but should – in a year or two. ”
The west’s response to Russia’s legitimate security demands suggest a pre-emptive nuclear strike is planned one with such a short timescale of delivery it would be nigh on impossible to defend against.
On top of the Ukraine operation, Russia will have to deal with this existential threat as well.
I’d certainly value the Saker’s comments on this developing crisis.
Once Ukraine is “solved” Russia must turn its attention to Georgia and also to the bases in Poland and Romania. Bulgaria deserves a rap on the knuckled as well.
Do you know a place call Hell Aviv in occupied Palestine? That’s the place you looking for to “end” all of the suffering in this world.
First thing Russia must do is to kill as many English soldiers (and not only their hired mercenaries ), English spies masquerading as British and BBC journalists and mercenaries as possible as in shortest time. That will settle the problem of the WORLD being destabilized by the England pirate island and there will be no more plotting for wars by English pirates. But Russia does opposite! It let English mercenaries escape safely from donesk (Debeltsov enckave) in Feb 2015!
I hope that Russia will trim down its zealous efforts to spare civilian infrastructures and even civilians if a significant group of combatant are hiding in their midst. Peskov’s recent declaration about the tragedy (his word) of significant loss of life in the Russian military makes it just about inevitable.
Russia is aware that this is a life and death war and it’s time to act accordingly. NATO/US is not only an existential threat for Russia but also for humanity.
Anyone hear from Nightvision? There was no Sitrep from him yesterday and I have also seen no comments. I hope he’s OK.
Anyone know?
I’m here buddy, the SitRep above is from me, so I haven’t gone anywhere.
Great! I was worried. I didn’t realize you wrote this Sitrep as I didn’t see your name. Glad all is well.
“The reporters here celebrate the ‘novelty’ of this method of utilizing intelligence (as if the amazing technique of ‘lying’ has only just been discovered by them).”
CORRECTION: they are not celebrating lying as a newly discovered method. Incidentally there would be nothing to celebrate on that score because despite a very long practice they lie very badly.
They are celebrating the new peak of cynicism of lying and ADMITTING they are lying, showing their utter contempt for the gullible public and basking in their sense of power derived from controlling the entire MSM.
“We lied, so what are you going to do about it?”
You’re right. It must be like a breath of fresh air for them, for the population of the western world to have descended to such a stupified, zombified, state of decadent indoctrination/propagandization that these MSM people can finally live their lifelong dream of being able to lie openly and with impunity and have people actually support and CHEER them FOR lying because “lying for a good cause” (to defeat evil Russians) is now considered a good enough raison d’etre.

“The Kremlin characterizes as a great tragedy the “significant loss” of life in the Russian military, said Peskov in an interview with SkyNews. He expressed hope that the special operation attains its objectives in the next few days, in a predictable future.”
I hope this pressages a resolute action coming up.
I’m not a fan of Peskov, this declaration (“He expressed hope that the special operation attains its objectives in the next few days”) is giving a false hope regarding a very unlikely timeline, it’s ackward. If a substancial number of Russians are ready to take one or two years to finish the job, why saying such a thing?
We’ll have t wait and see
Peskov appears to be cut from the same stuff as Joe Biden.
It is probably his way to ask for a pay raise.
The death of one Russia soldier is a ‘significant loss’ as far as I’m concerned.
Peskov’s interpretation may differ from what Western mockingbirders would like it to be.
In terms of the huge loss of Russian lives as mentioned, what number is being stated by reputable sources?
Thus is a must watch video
https://youtu.be/1xNHmHpERH8
In 2019, Arestovich predicted the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and now he said when it would end
Why is it a “must watch” video? I would agree if you presented it as an outstanding example of absurd NATO/US propaganda recited by a Ukie sidekick of the penis-piano player (himself as tool of Kolomoisky) . But it is not outstanding. It is a run of the mill example of absurd NATO/US propaganda recited by a Ukie sidekick of the penis-piano player (himself as tool of Kolomoisky) .
I admit I didn’t watch it to the end (I have a sensitive gag reflex). Did it get more “must watch” for you at the end?
That guy parrots the CIA/SBU narrative.
I for one never underestimate my enemy and personally find it fascinating how clearly intelligent Arestovych is, and with what type of clarity he understands the situation in every aspect, not only for Ukraine but even his comments about deterrence against Russia and how threats nor sanctions can do anything, given that Iran has survived on harsher sanctions for 40 years and is a much smaller and less influential country than Russia. Arestovych has clearly predicted the entire conflict with extreme accuracy and gives us a good insight into Kiev’s perspectives and objectives. In other interviews I’ve seen him mention things like the fact that he believes Ukraine’s air defenses are powerful enough to nullify Russian air power.
To the outside observer it could appear that Arestovych will be proven right in the long run because at the moment, perceptually speaking, it appears to many like Russia is failing, partly owing to the massive western sponsored propaganda campaign, partly due to Russia’s own withdrawals from initial objectives in the north.
But as I’ve said in previous posts, it is quite remarkable how quickly an over-estimation of something can turn to underestimation. Armchair observers seem to only be able to function in two basic modes of extremes. Either ‘Russia will crush Ukraine in 2 days’ or if that doesn’t come to pass, ‘Russia is super weak and will now be conquered by Ukraine, Moscow will fall, etc’.
And the truth of course always resides somewhere in the gray areas between extremes. Russia can now greatly utilize the massive under-estimation that’s happening towards its power (and it is already utilizing it). Due to the unprecedented media propaganda, so many Ukrainians now think Russia is losing that what will soon happen in the cauldron in Donbass will come as quite a shock to them.
Emblematic of this attitude was yesterday’s UK ministry of defense press release that showed several highlighted bullet points that said something to the effect of that Russian troops are demoralized, Russian equipment is all but destroyed, Russian forces are spent, but then at the bottom: “But Russia continues to make significant gains in xxxxxx regions”
I think Arestovych could be a “brilliant man” by Ukrainian standards, but as with many such men, hubris will be his downfall. They always reach one branch too high, and while he predicted most of the ongoing events clearly, his overestimation of his own and Ukraine’s abilities and over-reliance on the power and capabilities of the West will be his ultimate undoing.
I enjoy your analyses, Nightvision. It is a cut above what one normally finds on alternative sites like Saker’s. Your comments about Arestovych are interesting. My first impression of the 2019 interview is that I was watching the confession of a war criminal, the modern-day equivilent of a 1930s German technocrat who signed on to the Nazi party for purposes of career advancement and never examined the implications of his choices. Someone who took the West’s promises of an “umbrella of protection” at face value and never considered the implications of betrayal to himself and people like him. Someone who very likely was on drugs at the time of the interview and has probably turned to them to still any stirrings of terror in his soul for what he surely knows is coming. Someone who will be hunted when this is over and rejected by his perceived benefactors in the West. I know nothing about this man, but what I saw was a Nazi. Not the caraciture of that troupe wearing black and inflicting sadistic cruelty on his fellow man but the reality of what the German nation produced in the first half of the twentieeth century and what has apparently been reproduced 80 years later. A very haunting video.
I woke up this morning and checked on RT to see if there was anything important on the news. I was greeted by this headline “Dozens reported killed in Donbass rocket strike”.I started reading the article and see that Ukraine is accusing Russia of a rocket strike on a train station in Kramatorsk. Russia denied it and said the rocket was Ukrainian. Then in the article it said someone said the rocket had “for the children” written on it. And I knew at once that if that was true it was a Ukrainian rocket. Because one,the Ukrainian have written that on rockets they’ve used against Donbass before. And two,Russians would never write something like that on a rocket. Can anyone even imagine a regime that would slaughter civilians they claim as their own people for propaganda purposes. The pure evil of a regime like that is beyond comprehension . I hope the Russians will realize there is no way they should leave a regime like that in power after this war. No matter what it would take to unseat them. And there is no way they could ever trust a regime like that to keep any peace treaty signed with them, ever.

The Russians do not strike train stations (useless waste of ammo). They strike railways. But if the Russian somehow neglected to hit these railways and the Ukie false flag did it, it is a welcome contribution.
Russia, unlike the Ukraine, is no longer using Tochka-U missiles. They were replaced by Iskandar missile systems in 2020..
In a March 16 press release Russia denied that its forces still have Tochka-U missiles: “Given the proven record of the Kiev regime promoting false allegations and fake evidence, it should be noted that Tochka-U tactical missiles are not in service in the Russian Armed Forces,” the letter says.
Ukraine, which has retained some 90 launcher systems for Tochka-U missiles from Soviet times, has recently fired several of these against Russian and Donbas forces.

Once more: Both sides in this very special average war are lying. The ones lying and spreading these lies or „alternative facts“ over dead bodies will go to hell for what they did or are continuing to do. There, they will be confronted with questions – following their habit of lying when things get uncomfortable will lead to a never-ending abidance.
Please cease spreading assumptions that lay dead, mutilated, tortured people at someone’s door. If you weren’t there, state that you don’t know what happened.
Both sides of the conflict wear uniforms, thus are proud if being able to commit arson, theft, destruction of property and brutalising, kidnapping, raping, mutilating and murdering humans as well as all other beings in their vincinity. This means both sides are capable of such “activities“.
Don’t go to hell for liking one side of the evil over another. It’s not worth the pain.
In other words the Russians are just as evil as Yank propped-up Azov Nazis.
Bullshit.
kinda projecting your own limited presumptions about the Russian military onto us ??…think you need to check their operations in Syria the last few years because we have done so.
The Russian side immediately called for a meeting of the Security Council. The Britts have vetoed it.
Dunno what else to say…

Choose any one of them…
This crying mother to her little dead girl grave at the beginning of the video is so obvious false and pulled out from the tremendous stupidity of the Western media arse. Please, if you could show off just a little more brain.
Wrong. Russians would have no motive to leave bodies out in the middle of the street for cameras to see. And there were only about 8 bodies, so why wouldn’t they bother to pick them up or bury them? It only makes since for propaganda purposes and it is the west which is making the big issue of it, while that same west is silent about the civilians in the Donbass who are killed by Ukrainian missiles.
The FACT that the western media hypes it, and hypes it without a full sober investigation, is a true clue it is western propaganda.
In the battle for Kam’yanka (https://www.bitchute.com/video/2qjB8t89mK2a/), I noted that many civilians just stood by as the Russian vehicles passed. They did not seem to feel threatened at all. Not everyone thinks the Russians are monsters.
If it’s true that British Harpoons are already delivered and placed in Odessa, then Odessa should be taken by any means necessary, even it means destroying it. Very sad, but this is war and placing such weaponry among civilians is forbidden. Gloves off!
In the contrary England must be attacked and annihilated for arming enemies of Russia.
This is the sort of excellent commentary that makes me pleased to have occasionally contributed to this blog. Again and again the coverage here vastly outperforms that of the multi-billion dollar funded mainstream media. As such it is living proof of just how far the might have already fallen.
Anyway, thanks.
I don’t understand how a massive trainload of Slavakian S-300’s rolls into Ukraine.

Is it that difficult to take out such a large target? Shouldn’t these rail lines have been bombed?
waiting to see which depots they will load up on and deliver to….then catch them plus staff and any other accompanying military hardware.
I assume the video is of the train on the Slovakian side, we’ll see what happens when it actually gets to Ukraine. I don’t expect the system to survive for long
This conflict is a good opportunity for Russia to get these 5th columnists out. And if they say or do anything traitorous, ban them from coming back and seize their assets. Clean house, Russia! Separate the wheat from the chaff.
Thank you for the excellent SITREP.
Too bad there is only one lonely Matt Lee struggling to have his voice heard above the barkings of the presstitutes:

Mercs and Volunteers (one female!) caught on the video link provided in the article:
“Ukrainian force, all on foot, not a vehicle among them – forced to use a civilian truck to evacuate their wounded – whom, by the way, have obvious swastikas on their person.”
https://www.bitchute.com/video/zqjIYN3GAWFm/
In the video the way some of the personnel hold themselves, carry thier kit, and wear thier “uniform” I can deduce that several of the personnel shown are clearly US, UK, and “Volunteers” (from who knows where).
If they are not US or UK Mercs then they have received training from them / been exposed to them for some time.
For example,
check out the guy @ 0.59 mins (US),
the guy at 1.26 mins (UK),
the guy at 2.28 mins (volunteer),
the guy at 2.39 mins (US or US trained Syrian),
the guy at 5.03 mins (US),
the guy at 5.10 mins (volunteer),
and
The Girl – seen best at 5.17 mins, and 5.30 mins (and if any doubt hear her voice at 5.47 mins.
I asume the Girl is a Medical Doctor or a Comabt Medic / Nurse as opposed to a fighter – not because she is a girl and cant fight but by the way she is dressed, holds herself, and centres around the bearers.
Videos such as these are Intel Gems – I am suprised they have not been banned by Ukraine armed forces (the vanity of the Mercs and volunteers who just need to be seen in a war zone will get them killed eventually).
The woman at 5.30 is not a medic at all, she is an actress, already identified by Gonzalo Lira in his analysis of four fake videos shot in the exactly same location.
She is imo his famous ‘hot’ girl with shades, palestinian scarf and jaunty kalashnikov.
Lira’s words;
So yesterday on Twitter, I posted a video that showed a hot Ukrainian girl [Vita Zaviruha?] walking through a burned out battlezone, talking tough about being in combat — I called bullshit, and said it looked like a fashion shoot. It was my last tweet before I was suspended for a week.
She must wash and press her clothing every night, and has the same unruffled hair, walking out of a battle zone…..cue smoke, gun fire….Cut. That’s a wrap….anything good to eat at the Kraft tables…..extras get hungry you know.
@For example; above….pretty well tagged them all as western actors. The Show must Go on.

Azov extreme with criminal record. Radical with no remorse.
After about four weeks of campaigning in the Ukraine and with the very limited information coming out from the RF military, I can see that RF military is employing two concepts of operations that they’ve developed and perfected in Syria. Understanding this may make the conduct of operations clearer and perhaps calm down the hearts who are — gasp! –doubting the RF military’s capability in the SMO in the Ukraine (lack of manpower, lack of firepower, incoherence of strategy, etc.)
One, the RF military has a notion of operations called, by Western analysts, the Strategy of Limited Action. In this strategy, RF balances the military power needed to win ie to achieve the political objectives of the operation with over-employment of resources (IOW, overkill.) With the SLA, RF employs just enough power in theatre to meet its military objectives and eschews a ‘steamroller’ approach to war, IOW it doesn’t employ, and avoids, ‘shock and awe’, something that brings about indiscriminate destruction and huge civilian casualties. S&A is so ingrained in US military thinking — and thus also in a Western public so used to its employment in recent US wars — that it is hard for them to understand what Russia is actually doing, since it seems to them that, well, Russia is doing very little save for conducting airstrikes (more of this below) but not reducing Kiev, Kharkov, Mariupol, Odessa, Lvov, etc, to rubble.
As an aside, I was listening to the much celebrated (in certain quarters) Col Douglas MacGregor of Fox News fame (and a former tank officer), being interviewed by Gerald Celente the other day. When talking about urban fighting, the example of Falluja cropped up and he advocated, well, shock & awe — bring in the artillery and tanks, give the inhabitants two days to leave town and then open up with the big guns and move through the town quarter by quarter to clear out the enemy. Flatten the place. No mention of the effect on non-combatants or ‘collateral damage’, a term bereft of morality or compassion but so beloved of US military.
The strategy of limited action on the other hand, places emphasis on movement and fire (ie manouvre warfare) and seeks destruction of enemy forces rather than gaining ground, ie capturing cities/towns. Manouvre warfare of course also implies they can move forwards, sideways or backwards, depending on where the enemy is and how he is to be destroyed, ie whether through encirclement, direct assault, en masse, piecemeal, etc. I believe we can clearly see this being played out in the Ukraine.
Two, I’ve said this before — RF combat intelligence is superb. Perhaps that is because the RF has been working on the concept of what’s called the Reconnaisance-Strike Complex. In this concept, RF military uses reconnaisance means (all modes, from satellites to planes, drones, right down to men on the ground) to locate enemy forces and call in fire to destroy them. A publication that I’ve read quotes a Russian general as saying that they’re working on the system so that the time between locating and striking is about 10 seconds. Again, I believe they’re doing this in the Ukraine — and there are lots of videos (although to be safe we have to have a somewhat sceptical mindset here; when watching videos in general, that is) of RF forces seemingly bombarding enemy targets recorded in real time.
With these two concepts of the Russian ‘operational art’ in the Ukraine in mind, I believe we can follow and understand what the Russians are presently doing in the Ukraine.
I also believe — as often said by the Saker — that the Russians employ the military to achieve political objectives. The corollary being, as political developments change, the military employment changes. As an example: there’s news that active Nato servicemen have been captured in the vicinity of Mariupol. Now, assuming the news is accurate, the knee-jerk reaction would be to parade such men with the view to shame Nato. But politically, it may not be the right thing to do because exposing them, say on TV, would require or force RF to take further action that it may not want to take, for example, widening to war to Nato and risking escalation to use of nuclear weapons, because, make no mistake, Nato will respond. So perhaps it will be wiser to keep it under wraps and have a quiet word with Nato. The RF military will acquiesce to this move because they — and the Russian citizenry — have always accepted the idea of a civilian (president as commander-in-chief) making the final call; and to my mind, they are the better for it.
Wise words. Thanks. Military actions follows politic.
Thanks for this info. Like Micron, I also have the impression that the current situation feels like a stalemate and that without the injection of significant man and combat power, Russia will not be able to substantially increase its current territorial gains or capture, and hold, additional major cities further away from its own borders.
With the current forces, it looks like the conflict could drag on for many more months, perhaps even years, if an insurgency or low intensity conflict arises in the wake of the larger battles. Two things seems clear: Without the use of NBC weapons or mass mobilisiation, Moscow seems unable to repeat what was “achieved” in Chechnya. Without the occupation of the capital or, at least, the establishment of some form of a permanent military presence nearby, I don’t see how Moscow can effectively influence political realities in the Ukrainian capital in its favour.
In the absence of that, however, what is happening right now boils down to territorial gains in some key areas, which will probably also include Odessa, so as to cut off Kiev from the Black Sea. This will in and by itself not alter Kiev’s bitterness and its desire to become part of the EU and NATO, to the contrary. We are thus looking at a victory limited to the geographical periphery that will be attained at very high military, diplomatic and also economic cost.
This mismatch between the ambitions that were originally announced and the inability of the Russian army to achieve the stated objectives with the currently available forces on the one hand, and the (unacceptably?) high overall cost of this operation, at least in the short term, is becoming more obvious with every passing week. Then again, in the longer run, the picture may not be so pessimistic as it currently seems, at least not from a geostrategic point of view: Russia will be able to deploy its armed forces further westward, it will gain direct control over regions with significant economic and industrial assets and a mostly ‘friendly’ population. Ideally (from Moscow’s perspective). Ukraine will no longer have access to the Black sea, and its efforts to accede to NATO and EU will probably be delayed, perhaps halted altogether. Ukraine’s defence industry will have been thoroughly destroyed and require years to recover. What I can’t see, however, is how the ongoing operation, as it currently stands, could change Kiev’s attitude towards Moscow.
(Edit: I am not taking sides in this conflict and wish this human tragedy had never occurred. I am solely interested in analysing and understanding what is going on, and what the possibilities and probabilities for developments in the future might look like.)
At the current attrition rate that Russia is imposing upon the AFU,
Ukraine will not have an army in about six months. Thirty thousand Volkstrum
spread out in tens of cities is not going to offer much resistance. I might be understimating
Ukrainian troop strength and the rate of attrition. I would like to hear more about this aspect.
Martyanov recently spoke to the NATO officers matter…spoke of war crime trials in June and the good major general being under questioning in Crimea. Meantime, well, would the west, if they knew the location of these officers, decide that it would be nice if there was an unfortunate accident and then no more problem, because those trials are going to be a bigbigproblem for west.
For now, those men are safely hidden. Good. Somebody said 12 to 20 in labor camp…but of course, the trials may exonerate them for all the good work they’ve done…who can say?
Fantasy. If such men exist the will be used for concessions, not for moral stances. This is the world of realpolitik
Oh what a difference 8 years can make. Today the Guardian has become an anti-Russian,NATO toady. But back in 2014 there was some truthful reporting still allowed. Here is one that explains the beginning of the Ukraine crisis, and who was responsible:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/30/russia-ukraine-war-kiev-conflict
Ever since they supported the US extradition of Julian Assange from UK, it became a US propaganda tool. If you are a long time subscriber of Guardian, you would have noticed that the long-time reporters have all gone.
Same is happening to the Financial Times. Less and less solid economic news, more and more US/UK style tabloid stories.
Reform them by death, unsubscribe them.
Isn’t Azovstal steel factory heavily fortified and can withstand serious strikes?
Are they going to flatten the steel factory?
Azovstal is not some nuclear bunker, which wouldn’t be a problem for Russia. For fortifications like these you have Tulips, TOS, aviation bombs and many more. Whoever remains there knows that his fate is sealed.
Yes, but the choice is:
a) save the plant (for future use)
b) flatten it
> but steel works are usually fairly open structures.
There were reports that there are structures that are deep underground. If so,
you would have to destroy the plant (or at least some part of it).
Choice is also to starve or gas folks out.
Time is a consideration IF Russian strategy is counting on their troops there to move up for the Donbass battle before that battle can get underway. Lives are being lost every day. It’s a judgement as to whether saving the plant and or, perhaps, landing some high-value POWs (reports of a 3-star US general in there) is worth it.
We’re not going to have any sense of what intel they’re working off of for some time after this dust settles (be it this particular battle or of the entire war).
Waiting until they surrender (or starve) would be an option. The question is
how many troops would you need for that. The reports were that there were 40
thousand troops (Russians + Donbas militias + Chechens) involved, but
you probably don’t need that many if they are pinned.
@Ivan
They could save it by just keeping that factory encircled. They will take out any Ukie artillery, tanks and fortfied positons with single strikes of guided munitions. That’s for sure.
vacuum blast might stop them all breathing inside….but steel works are usually fairly open structures.
I would want not read to much in Serbia voting for the expulsion of Russia in the UN/HRC. It is meaningless and Vucic says he was blackmailed into doing it.
Sometimes you have to read between the lines. As an example, Kazakhstan announced last week that the would absolutely not violate the sanctions against Russia. Well they should. Russia needs Kazakhstan to stay neutral so as to sanctions-bust.
Christoforou sees it the same way:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3E6_XCfxVg
No, sometimes you have to find your guts,Vucic doesn’t seem to have any,i knew things had taken a turn for the worse when Serbia started arresting and delivering its own political and military leadership to that Reich Court in the Hague,i have seen nothing yet to change my mind.
Even my deluded and naive countrymen(Sweden) are starting to question the narrative, unfortunately, the Swedes still suffer from “Rysskräck”, fear of Russians, just hit me that it´s quite literally Russophobia:)
Not hatred but a gut-churning fear and they really think that the Empire of Lies will protect them from the “Eastern horde”…
Only our Political and Financial class shows real hatred/anger so I still hope that the ghost of Poltava can release the Sheeple from its grip soon before it´s too late.

As a fellow Swede, my circle of people are completely the opposite. They are seriously SCREAMING for NATO intervention because this is clearly a Russian genocide of Ukrainians.
The Russians are, according to them, raping, looting and executing their way across Ukraine while simultaneously being historically militarily incompetent.
When I try and counter that with a more moderate position that maybe we should take everything that comes out of Ukraine with a bit of salt, they lose it, claiming I have lost my ways because I support Putin.
“Russia has no right to intervene no matter what NATO does in Ukraine.”
The Propagandist’s all need to be reminded that Tokyo Rose served 10-years in prison for providing the same information as today.
I’ve seen for many years videos of the Soviet Union mobilizing their forces during the Great Patriotic War. I think Russia should start doing that today. That would show the population how serious they are about this struggle. And allow them to prepare people for if they need to go to shelters.Get those shelters ready, supplied, and people know where they are for them if/when needed. But most importantly right now,it’s obvious to fully win this war Russia needs more troops. They have done wonders with the forces they have right now. But from now on the fighting will be more intensive, and the level of forces there now most likely is too small to easily win it.Leaving aside the need to occupy and garrison the liberated areas. And deal with the potential thousands of prisoners, both Ukrainian AF,and bandits roaming those areas. A larger force would make the fighting easier and quicker. And the mobilization would give the force levels needed in case the war escalates to WWIII with NATO.
The real fight is against the West’s brainwashed masses. Here are a couple of tools:

There you have it! The proper “anti-war” position is now to openly support a US proxy war, with the express aim of facilitating “armed struggle,” in order to achieve a desired military objective. Isn’t the malleability of language a beautiful thing?
Anybody know what happened yesterday with Zelensky speaking with his guest star an Azov thug. Was this in front of the Greek Parliment? The Azov guy had a unbrow and looked like a frightening gorilla. He addressed the Greek Parliment? WTF was Zelensky thinking or was he on coke. Here is my Azov gorilla buddy. The guy was frightening looking like a monster and killer combined.
Deliberate tactic to show the world whose hostage he is?
Zelensky brought some guests to his video-show for the Greek parliament.
The Azov fighter (gorilla) stated that he is of Greek origin, fighting against the Russian fascists and defending his hometown Mariupol. The Greek parliament was not entirely charmed by their “fellow countryman”.

Saker and others,
What incentive does Ukraine Govt has to negotiate with Russia, none of them are personally affected and everyone and their families are safe
They are getting billions with no accountability so full opportunity to launder money for personal wealth.
We all know that the Nazi’s are OK killing their own civilians so no number of deaths will shock them to accept defeat as they are morally bankrupt
Your today’s sitrep is shocking given the nature of help West is providing and now that Keiv and all northern territories are free, the West and their puppet Zelensky can linger on for decades and make it very painful for Russia given the economic war as well as loss of troops and weapons stockpile over the long term
So far only China took a stand in favor of Russia but that is devoid of any economic or military help. India is on sidelines, it will accept good deals on oil and gas but thats it. I was surprised that India voted against Russia on the Bucha related UN meeting (though UN is useless as we all know but it sends a message)
China and India are also looking for big bargains when dealing with Russia’s oil and gas as if everything is on discount sale rather than understanding that it is not an existential issue for Russia only but for China as well.
India will not dare go against West as we have seen on many occasions and will continue to play the neutral card.
Russia is fighting collective west and we need some partners behind the scenes who can really help absorb economic and military impact..
Remember the ‘bargains’ western MSM is frothing over are not as big as they sound. A lot of people are MISREPORTING that India is taking a massive bargain buying Russia’s oil at $35/bbl. This is a huge mistake/mistranslation. India is buying the oil at $35 DISCOUNT from the full price, not AT $35/bbl. That means whatever the current price might be 110-120 minus 35. So, in short India is buying it at somewhere in the 75-85$ region. The interesting thing is, that’s actually what the price of oil was just 2 months ago prior to it inflating up during the conflict. So Russia is not losing anything with that discount, it’s basically getting the same price from February, which is why western analysts and MSM now reporting that Russia is set to make a giant windfall of $320+ billion profit $$$$ this year
@catubilu and others
I hope this long rant gets pass the moderators. Am aware the ad hominems that will be levelled at me for my views.
In my opinion, this war is getting more difficult for Russia everyday. I am no military expert but I am getting skeptical about Russian probablities of winning this war by the day. I am becoming less and less convinced on ‘assured’ Russian victory and the more optimistic narratives by many pro Russia sites/channels like this one, the likes of Scot Ritter, Mercouris, Duran, The New Atlas etc. Perhaps it is because I am more of a ‘hardliner’ in my views – I expected a more ruthless Russia, a more ‘shock and awe’ method of war as a demonstration of Russian military might. I think many so called ‘naysayers’ who comment here who are thought of to be trolls or pro ‘6th columnist’ are like myself – we are pro Russia, we hope and want Russia to win this war, we want more substantive support from the likes of China and not mere moral rhetoric, we hope for the demise of the unipolar hegemony under Washington. But this war seems to demonstrate Russian as militarily weak, and in my opinion, military was the only strong point Russia had in this hybrid war with the West. We are dismayed and disillusioned.
In my opinion, a powerful display of military capabilities would have many advantages :-
1. Secured fear from NATO and the West. And fear, perhaps respect from ‘allies’ (= fair weather friends the likes of China and India). Russia will never find ‘love’ or ‘respect’ from the West. If you can’t get that from your mortal enemy, then the next best thing is to ensure they really have wholesome fears of yours truly.
2. Apart from narratives of evil Russia, the butcher of civilians(which finally happened anyway with worse allegations yet to come), there will be zero narratives on a ‘losing’ Russian military when it is obvious the Ukraine regime is FUBAR.
3. The image of Washington/NATO as a military superpower will be severely damaged and can lead to more open support from China, India and global south countries and even renegades from within EU, hastening multipolarity and demise of American hegemony.
4. The economic pain that has and will be inflicted on Russia will be worth it with a Ukraine that will never ever be a proxy militarized country for Washington/the West to threaten Russian security interests. It is still early days of Western economic warfare on Russia and looking at how disappointingly slow Russia is in the military front, it is going to be a protracted war: a lot of time for Washington to finally crush Russian economy, sow chaos and institute regime change, plunder the natural resources at 1000 times more rabidly than they did in the 1990s. The likes of Nuland have been salivating for this outcome for the longest time.
I think Putin miscalculated quite a lot in this war. And the strategy is also flawed. If the aim is indeed demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine then just focusing on Donbass or just destroying current Ukrainian military weapons and capabilities won’t do. We are talking about basically Russia vs the collective West + allies (plus a timid global south that will not support Russia except in such a useless body like the UN and even there many try not to burn bridges with Washington). Russia cannot achieve that aim with a meagre force and ‘surgical /precision hits’. One needs a full scale invasion of Ukraine, complete decimation of its military and finally military occupation of the whole country with regime change in Ukraine(dividing the country can be discussed with the West after Russia wins the war) . End the moralistic rhetoric of Russia as a ‘liberator’. Russia is only a liberator for pro Russia east Ukraine population, not for the majority of Ukrainian population in the Western half ot two thirds who prefer to be ‘European’ and deplore Russia. Tell it as it is – this war is a war to secure Russian sovereignity and national interests PLUS stopping the genocide of pro Russia /ethnic Russian in Ukraine/Donbass area by the Ukrainian regime. Anyway the West justified all their wars on similar premises. Forget about moral high ground and PR of Russia’s image in the West. That is totally unretrivable and irreversible the moment Putin declared the ‘special military op’ in Ukraine. Since the Ukraine regime resisted all manner of diplomacy for the past 8 years, peaceful means to resolve the Donbass issue has exhausted. Nato’s refusal to agree to stop offering its membership to Ukraine and ‘eastward’ expansion via dialogue was the end of peaceful means to secure Russia’s national security interests. Russia should stop posturing the moral high ground of a civilian-friendly/humanitarian war(perhaps this is also to satisfy moral high ground ‘ally’ China which wants to cultivate its ‘image’ as a ‘peaceful antiwar’ power as a foil to ‘warmongering Washington’ ). Name the enemies and treat them as ENEMIES, not brothers. Ie:
1. Ukrainians who support the Ukrainian regime, are no longer brothers but enemies. To be treated as part of Ukraine regime.
2. Ukraine regime is an enemy to be dismantled for the reasons mentioned. No more negotiations with them unless they fully accept Russian terms with no preconditions.
3. Washington, EU, and allies are identified and called ENEMIES, not PARTNERS, as billigerents in this proxy war. And call it what it is – a proxy and hybrid war instigated by the West against Russia.
In short, Russia should stop being ‘soft’ with the Ukraine regime and forget about salvaging its image in the West(which will be down the drains unless Russia is defeated and capitulated to the West). War is the end of civility and the start of hostilities. It is horrific. There are justifications for war, but nothing ethical nor moral about it. Putin should know that the moment he resorted to military means to secure Russian interests. It is existential for Russia. So he should stop playing soft and just do a real war. Not bravado in the beginning but halfway still trying to appease the West which is THE enemy. Commiting Russia to this war is commiting or shall I say gambling the whole of Russia’s civilizational existence in the outcome of the war. Russia took Nuland’s bait. Then make full use of it to defeat Ukraine and bring the West down. There is no other choice because defeat means the end of Russian civilization. The way this war is waged by Putin and co is just like they care more about still trying to be friends with the West and not for Russia’s survival.
As for China, I am quite ashamed of it as I myself am ethnic Chinese. Yet, I expected China’s ‘behaviour’, just like any other country. In fact I can understand the sentiments of some Serb commenters here when they described a sense of betrayal when Russia did not actively support Serbia in the Yugoslavian wars. It is the same weakness of China, in fact of all the non Western ‘powers’ dreaming of a multipolar world order. It will remain a dream because they do not want to take the risk of having a true, hard and headlong conflict with the West/Washington – which is the only way to end Washington’s hegemony. Many of the elites in China(and Russia, and India) are deeply entrenched with the elites in the West and profitted from such ‘relationships’ – this is my opinion. So, the global south powers /non Western powers are disunited because their elites have some entrenchment with Western elites, they are disunited(eg India vs China), have competing national(and elites) interests, some even religious differences etc- all these the West can play them against each other like puppets on a string. Whereas, the West, despite their often very divisive politics (afforded to them by ‘democracy’) have a singularity of purpose and are united to defend Western hegemony and superiority. I suspect China knows how powerful the West really is and does not want to have any military confrontation with the West. Hence, they will never be all in with Russia – unless Russia has a quick military victory and the West crumbles, the China will change their tune and go for the kill. I suspect China has several contingency plans depending on the outcomes of this conflict. They don’t want to burn bridges with Washington, EU and the West at this stage until the outcome is clear. If Russia wins militarily and the West buckles, there might be even a formal Sino-Russian alliance. I said in a past comment that China will not ditch Russia. However, I think this is conditional upon a Russian military victory. If Russia capitulates, and is thrown into chaos(a scenario Beijing will be horrified with), China’s hard rhetoric towards the West will tone down considerably, with the ‘hope’ that Washington will not do to China what it did to Russia. I don’t think it is the best strategy but I wonder that’s what the strategists in Beijing are thinking? Hence there never was a formal alliance between Beijing and Moscow. If Putin have maneuvres that mutually benefit both countries, then Beijing will openly support. If not, they will have ‘strategic neutrality’,and watch who wins. Everyone will join the winning side and don’t want to burn bridges with a side they might secretly oppose. In the end, all countries care for their national interests as the topmost priority.
Sorry if I appear hard hearted, even inhumane about Ukrainian civilian deaths. That’s why a war is to be avoided at all costs. I am a realist and pragmatist. There is a role for moral arguments but when war is chosen as a means, be prepared to accept unpalatable moral choices. Putin and co has 2 choices – forget about the moral rhetoric and win the military war at all costs, ensuring a possible Western capitulation and survival of the Russian state vs play soft and trying to win an unwinnable moral higher ground, increasing the chances of a Ukrainian protracted war and ultimate Western victory with collapse of the Russian state and the end of Russian sovereignity(and Putin himself may end up like Milosevic and others the West called ‘war criminals’). It is that simple and is simply the harsh realities of this conflict.
My 2 cents.
The admission of lying about chemical weapons is good news. It means we will probably not all be dying in a nuclear war soon.
I wouldn’t bet on that at all.
NATO (i.e. USA) is still very determined to “encircle” Russia (and preferably China too) with short range nuclear weapons, and neither Russia nor China are going to let that happen.
Once it becomes very obvious (even to the West) that Ukraine is forever lost, there may be a temptation to use tactical weapons (following the age-old US policy of “let’s bomb them a little and see what happens”). That will be a very slippery slope, and should this happen, escalation to use of strategic weapons becomes far more likely.
If / when that happens . . . . .It’s been nice knowing you all. Maybe see you again in a future life??
Very good critical take, yes one side does propaganda. Why do you believe the pentagon numbers for weapons, it lies anyway right. The guy fired from LA times? Oh he was actually an Russian agent, but undercover in the CIA to make you think CIA is feeding all US news — sarcasm by the way. Obviously every country does propaganda that doesn’t mean all the news is fake just apply a critical thinking to every source of info, especially something that confirms your biases. You see something bad from the side you usually root for it’s okay to say wow that’s bad, don’t go looking for fake conspiracy fake news fake video fake and try to apologize in every angle.
After the end of the Cold War 1.0, when researchers got access to the Soviet records, they found that the American estimates by ‘intelligence’ of Soviet spending and capabilities were vastly exaggerated. All of the American massive buildup had been to defeat an enemy that did not exist. It was all a lie. But some people got very rich.
Similarly, the 1960 Presidential Campaign had fears of a “Missile Gap” as a major issue. The Soviets had launched Sputnik, and now the US military was saying that America was in grave danger of the massive Soviet Missile arsenal.
Daniel Ellsberg, in his book “The Doomsday Machine” reveals that he was a Pentagon insider when they got the first photos, I think satellite, but possible high-alt spy plane, of the Soviet Missile sites, and learned that the Soviets had a massive four missiles. Some missile gap.
Over-estimating the enemy to get Congress to throw money at the problem is an old American tradition.
If you believe the Pentagon, then remember, Gen. Westmoreland says he can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Phoenicians long ago discovered that the Goyim — think, some big blond squarehead driving a tractor or starring in “Fargo” — have an odd character flaw: if you lie to them, and then TELL them you lied, they admire you.
Interestingly, Hitler diagnosed this, calling it “The Big Lie” technique; the response was to lie to everyone about HITLER using the Big Lie technique. Genius.
Saker, I’m not seeing the credits for the 2nd & 3rd map? Southfront.org deserves a mention if that’s where they came from. Thank you for sharing your straight to the point sitreps, much appreciated. Nevermind propaganda, although very effective. In the end the results are what really matter and the truth always comes out.
bitchute isn’t working on edge browser I’m using, the loading graphic just keeps going. Any tips to get it working?
Did you actually look at the maps Nathan?
I say again, there are a few sites that were banned from the US Dept of State. But I would be happy to send them to you if the nasties in black arrive at the doorstep of the blog.
aha now I see it in bottom left corner. Credits are usually listed separately from the image on the bottom. Thanks
oh well, no big loss not being able to access bitchute, if vid is relevant enough it’ll show up in other places that can be accessed.
Hey Thank you nightvision, I appreciate your sitreps!!!
What a magnificient clusterfuck this is. Russia is fighting to “denazify” the Ukraine from “Nazis” that are fighting for a jewish government with a jewish President and a jewish Prime Minister. At the same time Russia is facing a full-fledged lend-lease type of program by the West to support the Ukraine, economic warfare of a scale not seen since it has been waged against the axis powers of WW2, and an all-out devilish propaganda psyop operation that would make Ilya Ehrenburg proud. Also, the western media says Putin is the new Hitler.
Assad explains it perfectly, watch this video: https://www.bitchute.com/video/HJuoz4DalRnI/
Fascism is based on the hatred of enemies. Both internal and external enemies are essential. Sometimes they can be the same, sometimes they can only be related. The internal and external enemies can be unrelated, but that takes more propaganda power to pull off.
People get confused because the internal enemy of Adolf’s state was ‘the jews’. They assume that all fascism involved hatred of ‘the jews’. When instead, fascism is the politics of hatred. Fascism is the weaponizing of hatred to grab power and wealth. There is always an internal enemy, but it can change from location to location depending on which propaganda works best.
In Ukraine, the hated internal enemy is the Russians. They took the old German material, then did a ‘Find and Replace’ and took out the word ‘jews’ and replaced it with ‘russians’. But otherwise, its the same old bleep.
Good article about what the US has been doing in Ukraine:
‘Gods of War’: How the U.S. weaponized Ukraine against Russia
https://mronline.org/2022/04/05/gods-of-war/
Anybody else notice the ‘swastika’ in the background of that ‘Pentagon’ list of ‘security assistance’?
I find certain coincidences to be anything but. We can’t use one (a swastika) openly, can’t show support for Russia openly, companies disavowing the letter ‘Z’, but hey, if it’s The Pentagon, well… ‘blue and yellow for this document, and why don’t you throw in a little ‘eff you’ for the conservatives: put in an image which ‘resembles’ their hated swastika!’
The outcome of this matter was decided on March 13 when Russia smothered Yavoriv with missles and the West did not escalate. Everything since then has been words and symbolic actions from Western politicans to distract their populations and redirect emotion toward the Russians. The truth is that NATO’s raison d’etre ended in 1991 and its taken a generation and a half for the rot to finally set in. Complicating this is a power struggle in the U.S. between three factions in power – one of which is being pursued criminally – and two factions that will assume power next year. Most of what you are seeing now is play-acting, except for the poor citizens of the Donbass. There are no weapons being shipped, merely annoucements made by grandstanding politicans, and any attempt to actually deliver them will result in military strikes. Both sides know the rules.
Mariupol is an interesting situation and there is clearly something going on which is being kept from the population. If it were just a question of spiriting out a few high-ranking westerners it would seem a submarine would have better chances of success than helicopters, the Russian navy notwithstanding. There is clearly something we don’t know about yet.
In any event, it is important to focus on implications more so than events it would seem. Remember Brexit? Does it make more sense now? Both Boris Johnson and Vladimir Putin were privy to the same information and both acted. Europa, alea iacta est.
Its not my backyard, so I could be wrong, but Mariupol is on the Sea of Azov. This is very shallow water. IIRC, they have to dredge out the Kerch Kanal to even allow shipping. I think even in that channel, a sub might be sticking out of the water. Even if it is deep enough to cover the sub, it would be obvious to anything in the air.
The waters are too shallow for an undetected sub. This has been explained numerous times.
It has been going along for longer than decades. This is Carl Bernstein, yes, that Carl Bernstein who broke Watergate alongside Woodward. The one played by Dustin Hoffman in the movie. This is from 1977, and was published in that essential American political publication, “The Rolling Stone”.
“The CIA and the Media”
https://www.greanvillepost.com/2021/11/23/the-cia-and-the-media/
The piece begins …
“In 1953, Joseph Alsop, then one of America’s leading syndicated columnists, went to the Philippines to cover an election. He did not go because he was asked to do so by his syndicate. He did not go because he was asked to do so by the newspapers that printed his column. He went at the request of the CIA.
Alsop is one of more than 400 American journalists who in the past twenty‑five years have secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency, according to documents on file at CIA headquarters.”
(At the time of this publication, the ‘twenty-five years’ referred to would be 1952-1977. America had a brief bit of ‘open-ness’ and ‘democracy’ in the 1970’s, thus we the people had a small chance to learn what had been going on.)
Simon Bolivar: “The United States appear to be destined by Providence to plague [the world] with misery in the name of liberty.”
Oligarchs control all media and so they replace everyone who might tell the truth with journalists ’embedded’ like cheap crack whores. Zelenskiy is just the latest collaborator to take US money, and follow the Israel-Saudi Arabia path.
Generally, the prime function of Western media is to sow doubt and confusion with so-called experts as done around every political decision: military-police-prison budgets, public health care, climate change, tobacco, unrestrained development and production of lethal chemicals, oligarch control of politics, economy, education and media. Particularly during armed conflict where Western ‘academics and journalists’ are ’embedded’ like cheap whores.
My expectations were western ‘media’ would pimp propaganda at every turn. An earlier prime example: ‘Chernihiv rations drinking water as Russia accused of taking city hostage’. Typical blather: “Chernihiv, which has been the focus of intense fighting in which tens of people have been killed a day…” Golly gee, intense fighting resulting in TENS killed. Banderite Nazis killed 5 DPR people a day for years after signing Minsk I & II peace treaties. All that ‘humanitarian aid’ never included weapons and ammo did it? And all the aid went to civilians, never to soldiers. As in Mariupol, Banderites undoubtedly blocked humanitarian corridors, and rejected peaceful evacuation of unarmed troops. Zelenskiy needs human shields to hide his troops and crimes behind.
Eduardo Galeano: “My great fear is that we are all suffering from amnesia. It’s not a person. It’s a system of power that is always deciding in the name of humanity who deserves to be remembered and who deserves to be forgotten.”
John LeCarré: “God appointed America to save the world in any way that suits America. God appointed Israel to be the nexus of America’s Middle Eastern policy and anyone who wants to mess with that idea is a) anti-Semitic, b) anti-American, c) with the enemy, and d) a terrorist.”
“A quick note on the topic of Russian ‘traitors’ and 5th columnists, it’s interesting how many of them are fleeing to Israel specifically.”
Russia should cancel dual citizenship between Israel and Russia. The people will have to choose between one or the other.
This question is for The Saker or Nightvsion.
Basically, I’m wondering why Russia hasn’t put battlefield tactical nukes to work yet? It seems to me that these small nukes would be ideal weapons for wiping out the dense concentration of Nazi troops entrenched in and around Severodonetsk, Slavyansk, and Kramatorsk.
Using the tactical nukes to wipe out those three Nazi fortified positions would considerably ease the work Russian infantry and armored columns face as they move forward in their Donbass offensive.
Am I correct?
As for the ethics and morality of using tactical nukes, well, Russia has a right to use ultimate weapons technology for the purpose of limiting the casualties of its own troops. After all, the West is acting in an unethical, immoral, bloodthirsty, and imperialistic way by sending Ukraine all sorts of advanced, manually operated weapons systems. The West’s intention is to kill Russian troops. That’s a deliberate, cruel, preconceived strategy now being executed by Ukraine’s Western backers.
Given the West’s actions and interference in this war, Russia, I think, is entitled to start using its ultimate weapons of mass destruction on a selective basis (to hit just Severodonetsk, Slavyanks, and Kramatorsk), in an effort to destroy the Nazi war effort and force Ukraine to the negotiating table once and for all.
I believe Russia could use tactical nukes against Ukraine without running the risk of triggering a nuclear exchange between the RF and US/NATO.
What am I failing to understand here?
“What am I failing to understand here?”
Really? You need to ask why Russia doesn’t stoop as low as the criminal US in using nukes? OMG some people are just too thick to understand basic codes of morality (and legality).
And let’s just put aside moral and legal norms and pretend the Russians are mad dogs like the US and Israhell counterparts; would anyone use nukes in such close proximity to their own borders?
Please research and read for comprehension what VVP stated about what circumstances the possible use of Russian nuclear weapons would be.
“OMG some people are just too thick to understand basic codes of morality (and legality).”
Get real. Don’t get drunk on virtue.
Just for the record, I’m not impressed with anyone’s virtue signaling or pretentious claims of holding the intellectual high ground.
Ask yourself, what is the West attempting to do in Ukraine? The West is attempting to kill thousands upon thousands of young Russian men and boys. That’s the West’s goal. To kill so many Russian soldiers that the entire Russian nation is broken by grief, and unwilling to defend its existential interests anymore.
So far, the West has succeeded in killing anywhere from 4,000 to 6,000 to 8,000 Russian soldiers. Given the chance, the heartless, ruthless Western imperialist will up the number to 40,000 or 60,000 or 80,000. All in the name of defeating and demilitarizing Russia as a nation.
I look at matters from the perspective of the suffering of the Russian people. It’s the responsibility of Russia’s leaders to use all available means to protect their boys and young men on the firing line. If that means ending the war immediately by taking out one or two Nazi fortresses – and eliminating 50,000 Nazi soldiers in the process — then why not do it? Doing so will end the war immediately.
As for “mad dogs,” I have no doubt that the leaders of the Atlantic Alliance – mostly vile Russophobes – will have no qualms about doing to Russians what they already did to third world peoples who were subject to Western colonization in past centuries. That is, kill the third worlders by the hundreds of thousands if necessary, in order to win. That indeed is “mad dog” behavior, and right now, it’s just starting to be directed at Russian people.
“Really? You need to ask why Russia doesn’t stoop as low as the criminal US in using nukes? OMG some people are just too thick to understand basic codes of morality (and legality).”
Something else I’d like to point out to you.
You need to pay attention to the beginning of people’s posts. At the beginning of mine, I explicitly said, “This question is for The Saker or Nightvision.”
There’s a reason why I addressed my question specifically to some people here, and not to certain others. I want you to think carefully about what that means.
I trust I don’t have to have this conversation with you again.
“You need to pay attention to the beginning of people’s posts. At the beginning of mine, I explicitly said, “This question is for The Saker or Nightvision.””
You need to understand that if you insult or outrage peoples’ sense of morality and intelligence they’ll respond to you regardless of the arbitrary rules of engagement you might set.
“You need to understand that if you insult or outrage peoples’ sense of morality and intelligence they’ll respond to you regardless of the arbitrary rules of engagement you might set.”
See moderation rule #2. Nobody’s supposed to savage anyone else on a personal level. It’s okay to attack and savage their argument, but nothing personal. Interpersonal respect is supposed to be maintained.
If I had been aware of the moderation rules, I would have resolved this issue up front by emailing Amarynth and letting him know the violation I originally experienced.
GW, I see Nightvision and others have addressed the principle side of your question. I’ll handle the blog side.
First, nobody owes you answers.
Second, I suggest you take a look at the moderation policy, specifically rule 13.
That rule became necessary because of questions such as yours. I trust we don’t have to have this conversation again. Now you know.
I responded that way to Grr because he is always gratuitously insulting toward me on this board. That’s all. I’m surprised you overlooked that. Just read the succession of messages.
“I suggest you take a look at the moderation policy, specifically rule 13.”
I just saw that moderation rule. In the future, wouldn’t it make sense to simply block the comment (don’t post) it, and send an email referencing the moderation rule being violated?
“First, nobody owes you answers.”
I began my comment that way so that Grr would get the idea that his feedback is unwanted (given that his answers are predictably nasty). That’s all. I wasn’t implying that anyone owed me answers.
And who’s supposed to live on that land after it’s poisoned with radioactive fallout from the nukes ? I presume your argument would be that small tactical nukes would produce small/negligible levels of fallout or something? Yet we know even from the use of DU (depleted uranium) shells in Iraq by the U.S., there’s entire generations of mutated/deformed children born with cancer etc., so imagine what actual nukes would do, small or not. After all Russia is liberating this territory so that its own future citizens will likely live there, why would it want to poison and destroy that land and turn it into an uninhabitable, glowing hellhole?
Plus, I don’t think there’s any Ukie positions that are completely isolated from any civilians at all. Even in the ‘sparse’ steppe of the western Donbass region, there are many recalcitrant civilians who refuse to leave their small settlements/villages around which the Ukrops have built up their impregnable fortifications, trench systems etc. So even using a “tactical nuke” which are still unprecedentedly destructive, it would require basically accepting the mass slaughter of civilians in the areas. After all, even the smallest tactical nukes to my knowledge are still far more powerful than the Hiroshima bombs, though I know they’ve experimented with even smaller ones but not sure if any were actually produced.
First,Russia doesn’t want to use something like those if they really don’t have too.Second,is that we are talking about Ukraine, one of the lands of Rus,their ethnic brothers, even if for now turned to the dark side. And the most important reason is that Severodonetsk, Slavyanks, and Kramatorsk are parts of the LDNR that are occupied by Ukraine. So there is no way they would use nukes on their relatives.
“How any reasonable and self-respecting country or people could trust the U.S.’s ongoing claims from this point on are beyond me. How could you possibly take in this announcement, and yet still believe the U.S. side of the story about the ‘Bucha massacre’ amongst other things?
“This amazing feat of neuro-linguistic-programming must be seen to be believed:

“The ‘reporters’ here celebrate the ‘novelty’ of this method of utilizing intelligence (as if the amazing technique of ‘lying’ has only just been discovered by them). They dance around the real description of the concept as basically being “lying”, by continually describing it in fancy ways to frill it up and legitimize the ‘technique’ as something other than what it is on its bare-faced surface: outright lies and propaganda meant to control the narrative of the conflict favorably.”
The Empire of Lies has “outed” itself, and its dancing-monkeys dance.
And all those who speak in terms of “narrative” are (“post-modernist”) liars.
(I put ‘reporters’ in quotes to distinguish these joyously-willing paid liars from actual journalists.)
