He is excellent. If Lavrov wants to leave,he is the perfect man at the right place for the job.

    • Anonymous on April 20, 2018  ·  at 6:43 pm EST/EDT

Yes he is very good. The right Ambassador for the right time.

He will also be helped by his press team (and the Russian foreign ministry) – considering after the expulsions of 23 innocent diplomats by the UK – the UK team are doing a fantastic job under severe circumstances. He has been doing these press conferences on a regular basis (RT shows them in their International news) – that is what needs to be done by Russia – communicate, communicate, communicate. The MSM is constant in its vilification and Russia is now getting into its stride by pushing back in the media and on all fronts.

Hamish rears his ugly head again:

    20.04.2018
Embassy’s press secretary response to a media question on the statements by Vladimir Uglev

    https://www.rusemb.org.uk/fnapr/6497

“Q: Can you comment on the recent statements by Mr Vladimir Uglev claiming to be a “Novichok” inventor and saying he is sure that A-234 was used to poison Sergei and Yulia Skripal?

A: Yesterday we learned from the BBC that the self-proclaimed inventor of the so-called “Novichok” Mr Vladimir Uglev was sure that the Skripals had been poisoned with A-234. He comes to this conclusion “from all the spectrum data [he] was sent recently”.

This is quite an extraordinary statement. It essentially means that a private citizen has been provided with the information that the Russian Side has not been able to obtain from the British authorities for weeks.

By the way, earlier, statements based on access to “intelligence data” were made by Mr Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, the former commanding officer of the UK’s chemical regiment.

Of course, these allegations can not be verified. But if we are to believe them, it looks like the British authorities share highly confidential data with private individuals. This is another gross violation of the OPCW rules. We have asked the FCO to confirm or deny this, and to provide us access to the files that these gentlemen refer to.”

He’s grinning during the Q&A session when he talks about the evidence. He knows he’s got them by the short & curly ones. This whole Skripal and chemical weapons narrative is disintegrating at record speed.

Does anyone else think this is a ploy by Russia to remove the chemical weapons false flag from the bag of tricks the west is using? I hope so. If they can make the west a laughing stock they may not get to use this tactic for a decade or until everyone has forgotten it.

So many of the journalists were SO rude; it’s like they think he and all Russians are an animals, devoid of normal human emotions and concerns. This is clear evidence that they are demonising all things Russian; they might as well repeat the ‘They eat babies’ accusation from WWI. Why is this not obvious to all in the West?

    • MusicalE on April 21, 2018  ·  at 2:09 pm EST/EDT

Unfortunately, you are right. The two people I share a cube with at work were saying that Russia was a savage place. From hearing them talk it was clear that they didn’t know anything about Russia or Russians. Their attitude towards was based on the lies of the media.

I was thinking about telling them that they were demonizing the Russian people and that is how wars start, but I didn’t do it, because I share a cube with these people, and I didn’t want to be accused of people a “Russian troll”.

      • Englishman on April 21, 2018  ·  at 3:35 pm EST/EDT

Well you should have said something,i call these people out and expose their total ignorance,i know its hard work but try and educate them.

      • Marko on April 21, 2018  ·  at 5:04 pm EST/EDT

If your colleagues are really liberal and/or democratic they will certainly appreciate your different opinion of Russia and Russians and listen politely to what you have to say. However, judging by their Shallow Hal comments about one sixth of dry land of this planet which is called Russia, you are better off asking for another cubicle in order not to share air with people like that. Stay well.

All I need to know about Putin is that he uses Bratva slang, but I wonder how he influences the general corruption levels in Russia.

  6. Emily Tock on April 21, 2018  ·  at 3:36 am EST/EDT

Also, just Kudos to respected ambassador! It is impossible to imagine a UK ambassador able to speak so fluently and with such erudition for over an hour in the Russian language?

  7. ross on April 21, 2018  ·  at 4:31 am EST/EDT

western media are so crude, ignorant and foul with their questioning…. Fail miserably in every respect in interviews or allowing the other party to speak fully with intelligent follow up questions….

western media have an obvious agenda which is to put down who ever they interview and do their crudest best to demean folk….

Quality of western journalisim is pathetic…

Dont watch western Tv or read their trashy newsprint.. Gave that up 40 years ago. We were told as undergraduates to never ever cite media stories as a source…. as too many stories in media are interrpreted incorrectly and can rarely be verified in their explanation s of key visual world influencing events.

The above questioning is just another example of how crude the west has become ..

This all make me sad and cynic. Sometimes i even start to think about Putin acting like Stalin: capturing and sending them to Siberia for fresh out door working on forests, mines and earthmoving. But then i suddenly wake up and remember that last 3 years of Empire are now running. So let’s play this nice, soft and with silk glove in iron hand. My guess is still this: 2021 and Empire becoming to just ordinary power.

For German speaking readers, I would like to point out a couple posts I left on a German blog. My main comment was related to two MSM articles that appeared in the “serious” journal “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” in Switzerland. I set off to get some first-hand answers by the person interviewed for both articles. In vain – but with some likely collaterals…

    https://www.heise.de/forum/Telepolis/Kommentare/posting-32210410/show/

Regarding the Skripal case, I believe it cannot be unwound without full disclosure of all original laboratory reports sent to the OPCW and without full disclosure of the OPCW summary derived from these reports. Confidentiality on these matters only aggravates the crisis and – not only with me – leads to serious suspicion about intentional wrong-doing of state-hired actors.

Guess how amazed I was when Ambassador Yakovenko aired the suspicion I put down here:

    https://www.heise.de/forum/Telepolis/Kommentare/posting-32238552/show/

As I do not have access to any of the confidential documents, I could only speculate. Take it with more than a grain of salt.

    Is video worth keeping.

Very professional and far more believable than the propaganda trotted out by Boris the clown and Theresa the fashion queen with the support of the UK presstitute media.

So, at the moment, we have, in the UK, two Russian people whom no-one has seen for weeks, since they went for a walk in a park after a meal. Requests to see them in accordance with International Law are ignored. = 2 “disappeared” people.
Julian Assange, holed up in a foreign Embassy but in UK has been denied all electronic access or visitors. He has not been seen or heard of for over one month. = 1 disappeared person.
A couple of Russians have been mysteriously murdered. Little investigation has been done by the UK, communication with Russia – zero.
You know other countries where people were “disappeared” and mysteriously murdered?
    Fascist ones!!
    Look it up.
America and UK ,tick 13 of the 14 criteria for establishing whether a nation is a Fascist Nation.
Once you look at them as countries like Germany, Italy, Argentina, Chile, and others – nothing is contradictory, nothing bewilders. Everything swims into focus.
We are dealing with a massive, Fascist Aggressive Empire.
That’s how we have to deal with it.

  14. Andre on April 29, 2018  ·  at 4:30 am EST/EDT

Pity that all of this is irrelevant today when UK and US, Israel etc. can do what they like and have ignored for many years. They know it and everybody knows it but what can be done about it?Nothing, the US will continue to do as they please and Russia and/or China can nothing about this either. There is no internationals court with any power so laws and agreements are ignored until something really drastic happens to stop it.
