Dear friends,
I promised you an analysis by last week’s end, but I had to leave on an exhausting 3 day trip from which I returned safely but very tired and feeling spent.
I will recuperate this afternoon and I will try to deliver my promised analysis of the Biden Putin summit tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest.
Also, one important clarification for both authors and commentators:
If you are a guest author and you need an edit or correction to be made to a text you submitted, please do NOT contact the moderators but email my assistant Amarynth at SakerAssistant@protonmail.com and ask her.
If you are a commentator and need an edit or correction to be made to your comment, please do NOT contact Amarynth, but contact our head of moderation Herb at saker-webmaster@yandex.com and ask him.
That’s it on my end.
Please consider this short post of mine as an open thread until my next analysis comes out.
Feel free to drop any questions, suggestions, complaints, etc. too.
Hugs and cheers to all
Andrei
Saker, to me, you Analysis are the most impressive anywhere and I enjoy them immensely.
My question: if nato/America continue to expand eastward and supplying weapons to Ukraine, what can Putin do short of a military attack the assets which might develop into a major war? Or possibly stop gas transits to Europe which he’s already said he would not do?
Comment .. it was a relief to stop the use of anonymous. I see it in a mostly improved commenting section.
I want to again congratulate the commentators in the thread /why-russia-didnt-shoot-anything-down-yet/ for just excellent commentary in the main. In my almost five years at the Saker Blog, it stands at least in my top 10.
(Now let’s hope nobody starts shooting and the proverbial Duke Ferdinand is nowhere to be found – things are incredibly tense everywhere).
Tensions in the Ukraine/NATO/Donbas/Russian diablo…
The Russians say:
https://www.rt.com/russia/543083-putin-boris-johnson-nato-talks/
Boris Johnson says: “emphasized the UK’s commitment to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and warned that any destabilizing action would be a strategic mistake that would have significant consequences,” .
In an earlier thread karlof/outlaw historian said NATO/US was “talking past” the Russians…. They were taking past each other ….. Saker disagreed, and Karlof politely left it at that.
The above item from RT has me once again agreeing with Karlof. … they are talking past each other.
I haven’t ever seen such an explicit “warning” previously from the Russians …. Explicitly mentioning military responses.
Their whole time engaging with Turkey, the US, France and NATO in Syria, never once have they used language like this….(that I have seen).
Johnson, Biden, Blinken, Stoltenberg, the collective NATO/ EU/ G7 and the rest, none of them seem to realise that the Russians are now, after all this time, calling the bluff..
They have explicitly put “military” options on the table.
If the west-and-the-rest keeps taking AT the Russians, rather than “with” the Russians…. Well, I am now apprehensive about “kinetic” exchanges.
I haven’t been until now, as the Russians have previously continued with the “diplomatic” approach.
Now Shoigu and Gerasimov are more visible and vocal.
And Lavrov’s words are getting sharper…
When I check European and american news sites. It seems to me that Russia has made its position quite clear, There is no more drums of war in the US or EU media.
There is the usual trivial complaints from US-NATO Agents about Russia. but nobody takes them serious after Afghanistan.
Instead the media have moved on to the next agenda: the introduction of totalitarian rule in the west via (COVID Mandates).
However this agenda is now meeting fierce opposition in all of Europe, and especially in Britain.
I guess that is why Boris Johnson (turning COVID dictator) is trying to move public focus back to Ukraine.
Johnson is fighting for his political life, and so are many of the “coalition of willing” NATO Agents in Europe.
The British Empire is in a crisis, they have seen the writing on the wall for NATO, and are trying to force its own population into Fascist lockstep.
But they will fail, just Listen:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqOPeLJr3GY
Never forget, the “media” are part of the whole stinking cess pit, and they do exactly what they are told to do by their betters. For a better handle on what is going on with the covid thing and its relationship with fascism, dictators and totalitarianism, Professor Matthias Desmet is worth a search.
Well.
Here we have “New information” on how “Mass formation” a new word for (Mass mental suicide) or (Mass manipulation) formed in Russia under Stalin, Italy under Mousseline, Germany under Hitler, the US+UK+EU under Bush 1, Clinton 1, Obama +Clinton 2, Trump and Biden.
I Denmark I was educated as a warning, about this technique in High school back in the early 1970s, on how the masses in Russia, Italy, and Germany were hit by national crisis after crisis, and ultimately steered by Propaganda into a Totalitarian regime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqPJiM5Ir3A
See the video and learn what you Great Grandparents learned the hard way:
But be on guard of “The third way” at 55.00).
The conclusion by the host and the Professor leads you to follow a new (Mass mental suicide).
Instead of using you own brain.
After seeing the video, I wonder how Prof. Mattias Desmet, who has been lecturing at the University of Ghent in Belgium in human psychology for years, didn’t instantly realize that this old technique of “Mass manipulation” has been occurring in the west since the 90s.
Prof. Desmet acknowledges that he didn’t realize that a Mass psychosis was forming in the West until November 2020, during the COVID crisis.
Now how could that be?
1st Maybe the professor is too close the epicenter of Dynastic manipulations of humanity:
The Holy Roman Empire, located in Aachen near Brussels.
2nd Every newborn starts from scratch, and has to be educated to understand past mistakes in human history.
3rd Human History and Psychology have not been lectured in western schools or high school during the last 40 years. Thus the fatal mistakes of humanity during History are lost to people born after 1980, and they are ready to repeat the same atrocities carried out time and again in History.
Now that people begins to realize the Historic repeat of Mass manipulation toward WWIII.
I want to draw you attention to why our previous common knowledge has been lost to almost 2 generation.
Especially the Fact that the way to manipulate the masses has not been lost to everybody.
Otherwise nobody would know how to do it today.
Who kept this knowledge for themselves. And made sure that it was no longer educated in schools and were “forgotten” at universities?
The Globalist Dynastic Elite.
Kind regards and remember We love You.
Your Great Grandparent’s.
PS. Don’t take our Great-Great-Grandchildren to be injected against the virus.
In a few years you’ll blame yourself so mush, that you will accept death for having harmed your own child.
Just like 50% of Stalin’s Communist Party accepted their own responsibility and Death sentence by Stalin, for having participating the killing of 50million Russians.
We strictly advocate against killing 90% of humanity.
Focus on the 1% and use your own Brain, for Christ sake.
If anybody needs a recap (and a healthy laugh before Christmas) of what has happens during the last 3 weeks in the world,
Take a look at this review of the “New Theatrical Show” Called: DAVOS Last stand.

Luckily the virus haven’t kill all people born before 1969.
Great comment! Thank you A Dane.
I find it hard to believe that ‘they’ have managed to so nearly destroy us. I do keep in mind that for many good people around the world it must be hard to accept that there are people out there, many well off, and very fortunate in positions of great power and influence, that would be willing to see hundreds of millions die, and actively find ways to make them die. Bill Gates for example with his Eugenics comments. Sometimes I can’t grasp why people just don’t stand up together around the world, and hold these evil people accountable.
Russia, at this point, is looking like one of the sanest and soundest countries in the world.
Well said.
Russian patience is running thin by the day. Consequences are really dire.
I would be very interested in seeing a more detailed analysis of Russia’s current techniques & technologies treating post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), artificial limbs, & other war-related trauma.
Hi Andrei, have a good rest. I await your analysis, but like many others, feel a sense of trepidation at the pushback that “Biden” is getting.
As expected, Germany’s Greens seem intent on baiting for a pat on the head from Uncle Schmuel in return for freezing their seniors to death this winter before collapsing German industry in 2022. I hope Gazprom has an army of competent lawyers for litigation at the gross violation of a commercial supply contract. Other customers will happily buy the gas they need but snub, as if ideology can be converted into energy.
What caught my eye the most was Maria Zakharova stating that the West is shipping militants to 404 in the guise of military instructors. I do not hide my indignation at the Russian government’s persistent attempts to geopolitically romance Turkey with military cooperation when she keeps stabbing Russia in the back at every opportunity. Have we not learnt enough about the ethnic cleansing and war crime horrors NATO inflicted on Yugoslavia with imported Salafi militants? To say that I am conflating two unconnected issues is disingenuous. I cry for those in the Donbass who may be murdered in the name of the empire’s greed.
I remember you posted a video of a Pakistani sheikh not long ago, how he interpreted verses from the Muslim holy book as a prophecy of the victory of the inheritor of Byzantium against its foes. It is factually highly possible by Russia’s current military dominance.
However, when Kalibrs and Tsirkons start killing the war decision-makers in their offices and homes in Western capitals, will the lying career warmongers stop and request a truce, or will they push their leaders to cave in to the devil whispering nuclear escalation to destroy the world when they can never succeed in their dream of dismembering Russia for plunder? I don’t hold much hope in those who have lost their humanity.
Yes, let us hope that a few of them already have names of Canina such as Gregory J. Hayes and John M. “Jack” Keane, Jeff Bozos, I mean Bezos, off course, written on them ready to go and the terms of ending WWIII and slaughter of Canina is unconditional surrender. The fun and profit goes on until it does not.
Perhaps Putin/Russia figures that Turkey will make the right choice when it is time to stop playing both sides.
I don’t think that Turkey, or any UKUS vasals, play the both sides. Militants from Turkey and elsewhere are purely CIA operation, not Turkey. Turks are not supposed do know of, or interfere with CIA operations
You can acuse Turks for not booting Anglos for good, but that would come with dire consequences. Such that Turkey would be significantly weaken. Weak Turkey is not good for Russia as it would end up firmly in Anglos grip as cheap cannon fooder supply. That is definitely not in Russian interest, so Erdogan can act as spoiled brat, till he cross the red line. Whenever he did, he’s got gently slap and got into line. Erdogan is perfectly aware that he would be dead man walking without Russian backing.
Turkey situation is e x t r e m e l y complicated geopolitical play, and should be left to premier league diplomats.
The meeting between Putin and Biden does not seem to have brought about much change. Will detailed issues actually be renegotiated so that a peaceful perspective dominates? Frankly, I doubt it. Domestically, the outcome was far too dim for Biden to stand out as a great foreign policy leader and gain electoral favor. Geopolitically, nothing changed. What should the U.S. gain from solving the Ukraine problem with Russia (unless Biden stands as a domestic political hero)? Nothing. Why the years of saber rattling? Why the years of Russia-bashing? If the point is to isolate Russia, then rapprochement does nothing. Rapprochement makes Russia stronger, entangles it with the European states. A small war, on the other hand, promotes the isolation of Russia by the U.S. and Europe and the Democracy states. At the same time, it may bring Russia short-term military clarity, but the strategy of tension remains. In any case, a strategy of tension and provocations increases the costs for Russia and that is good for the USA .
In the long run, the threat to Russia increases elsewhere as well. The USA will not sleep when it comes to military technology (AD and Hypersonic). And where will this lead? Haven’t we already had all that?
I think the prevalence of a military perspective has to do with the fact that both the West and Russia, and frankly China, have nothing, absolutely nothing, of substance to offer against the grand socio-economic script of neoliberalism. All three are panting after the same managerial neoclassical ideology: Inequality, poverty, environmental destruction, private Business oligarchy. That is the sad dialectical truth in all the military underlined games.
No worries about USA making hypersonic rockets any time soon. With education and technical proves, USA/WEST is where Balkan states were after liberation from Ottomans – land of unlearned peasants, rednecks, deplorables. The difference is, Balkan peasants, rednecks, deplorables were aware of their backwardness and they started learning as soon as they gained some kind of freedom. t took them entire 19th century and good part of the 20th to catch up wit ‘civilized and cultured’ west. USA and collective West today are far from being aware of their technical backwardness. They believe that they are still above all others in technology and science, management expertise as well. They can fool themselves, but not others. Others do not care actually.
USA is touting as the greatest technological feat that Elon Musk can launch people to touch the space for a brief moment and then be parachuted back to the ground. Sending people to space, actually travelling around the Earth – that was accomplished by both USA and USSR in early 1960es. I must give credit to E. Musk for being able to land ‘spacecraft’ on the ground, instead on an Ocean. He caught up with reds, only 70 years later.
Given the pace at which real science is progressing, westerners are too far behind. For Christ’s sake, in 1830 Serbs were sending people to Austria, Germany, France to study and acquire skills. Does anybody expect UKUSA to send their aspiring smart kids to Russia, China, Iran, Japan or anywhere in Eastern Europe to study math and engineering? They would rather die than do such thing. And they will have it their way, they will die, without Russia, China, Iran and the rest moving a finger. Such is the fate of people who don’t even know what they do not know, eh.
No worries. Even existing nukes, there is no-one to maintain them and launch them. Those people have retired a generation ago. Inertia moved the society for a generation, but no more.
Haha. We are a nation of hicks and doinks dontcha know? Nah, we really aren’t. There are a lot of VERY smart people in the US. We are not in our entirety a bunch of dipshits. Incidentally, you talk of rednecks and deplorables littered over the US including ‘fly-over country’. Since time immemorial, the world’s greatest minds and greatest leaders have often arisen from the gutter or relatively modest circumstances out of nowhere. We are famous for that (in our own minds) here in the ‘horrible’ USA. Tamugen Genghis Khan grew up in a nomadic tent in the middle of the vast Mongolian plains with his pony horse for company. He changed the world. Thomas Edison changed the world in a small non-descript workshop.
A goodly number of ‘red-necks’ and fly-over country deplorable ‘buffoons’ just might be a deal smarter than you or I, and perhaps better looking.
I’m pleased to hear that you are back safe from your travels Saker. Everyone needs to recharge the battery at some point so I hope you rest well.
I’m curious to see some analysis regarding the disposition of NATO and Russian forces and capabilities. Dispite the the tough talk from the collective Biden, I believe this is a clear mismatch in favor of Russia in the case of a European war.
I would also like to know who actually controls the armed forces of Poland. I don’t believe the best interests of the Polish nation are being served by it’s high comand.
I believe that there is a very strong possibility of a senseless war in Europe. All of this is very unnecessary and could easily be avoided. If the Empire has as its objective the complete destruction of Russia then this will lead very harsh circumstances for the entire world. This needs to be clearly considered by every person on the planet. We should all be aware of the means and consequences
How much effort if any is Russia today putting towards fighting the soft power and propaganda war in Orthodox Eastern Europe? If nothing, does Russia think that it’s a lost cause, or that it’s not yet in a position to make a significant difference, or that it doesn’t matter much? Does Russia think that in the long run the soft power war is not very significant, and that other variables will end up turning the population – what’s left of it – around?
Looking forward to reading your next analysis. Rest well Andrei.
Germania is a very strange kind of key.
Asia has China but Europe have a Japan in the west.
Its sound like echoes from a certain war.
Germania and Russia sounds like
“Islands join hands ‘Neathe heaven’s sea”
Welcome back, Andrei. We are all eager to read your views on democracy summit which came out surprisingly …. tasteless.
Biden’s speech could easily been written during his presidential campaign and went through the motions ever since. E-meeting with Putin had the same flavour. What’s happening?
When retreating from daily politics high enough one can see one retreating civilization and couple of opportunistic players that fills the void.
Dying beast can swing couple of serious blows left and right, and roar as never before, but the outcome is inevitable.
Andrei My Orthodox Brother,
God bless you and your family and I wish you and yours a very Merry (and blessed) Christmas season.
Sincerely,
Jamie (Pravislavni Zavut Dimitri)
Dear Saker,
Thank you for your continued efforts in giving us incisive analysis on current affairs and likely future scenarios.
As a matter of importance to the global community, can you please say something about the likelihood of Implosion of the Empire and if it so happens what should the world do? As Tarik said it in this blog, do Russia and China in particular and other emerging powers in general have a ‘retirement plan’ to the Empire?
Thank you.
Please, anybody can explain what this means
https://avia.pro/news/u-chernomorskogo-poberezhya-rossii-pokazalsya-istrebitel-f-35
Here it is in English for you.

Investigations into a probable F-35 incursion into airspace initially without triggering air defence countermeasures… and also causing a passenger jet to change course. Several causes for concern.
It means that f35-hunt season is opened.
Alastair Crooke has a most interesting post just up on Strategic Culture in which he points out that “the west and the rest” are facing three simultaneous push-backs. These are China and Taiwan, Russia and Ukraine and Iran and JCPOA.
As I read it, he suggests that “the west and the rest” are no longer dictating the terms of dialogue, that there is likely a high degree of coordination between the three in their push-back and that “the west and the rest” simply cannot afford, nor win, a war on three fronts. I agree with him.
As an aside, my own thinking on this is that Israel remains the joker in the pack, possibly in Europe, definitely in the Middle East and perhaps not in the Far East. We keep hearing that Israel has the right to defend herself. I disagree. I suggest Israel forfeited that right with the Nakba, and until that wrong is righted, Israel has no right to self-defense. She might have the might, for now, but she does not have the right.
Andrei, you are the best. Glad we have you!
I’m Brazilian and historically I don’t understand why Ukrainians hate Russians or Russia. Could you clarify in a few words?
I am anxious to get a clear glimpse and then to fully understande that the damn the ‘new’ German chancellor and govt are up to.
Seems they just added a new undegustable spice to the age known chukruten.
Plus ça change … well let s wait and see.
What does it take to have a leadership finally ahead of his time in Deutschland? why the heck the local mediocrities don’t skip steps? must they await 30 years longer just to take the take the steps that it be taken?
Dear Saker,
Can’t wait to read your analysis and see how things evolve. I think that the situation will be quiet this winter, but 2022 will be an “interesting” year. In Germany, the new green/red government will be more hostile to Russia, in France/Italy governments by Macron/Draghi, i.e. multinational banks, will be confirmed, so everything seems to go towards the direction of a hardening of the global tensions between zone A and zone B, with also increasing social tension in zone A. Add the economic crisis triggered by post-covid and the self-destructive new green-deal, Biden a year older, the new US congress and, oh, we are still waiting for the liberation of Idlib, the end of the battle for Marib in Yemen… A bitter soup is boiling.
If we think about, a lot of things happened this year from the 6-Jan, it seems an era ago, maybe also a short end-year recap from high-level perspective could be useful before delving into the new year.
Best,
I am anxious to get a clear glimpse and then to fully understand what the damn the ‘new’ German chancellor and govt are up to.

Dane, we ve read your extensive thoughts about the ‘Duce’, Adolf and stalin plus 50 millions killed.. you ve learned that in danish schools for two decades I presume.
Expect you ve got as well some paragraphs of litterature on the Truman’s , Ike’s, Nixon’s, Bush’s, obama’s & all up to date killers, after all of them flowers born and bloomed up from the bud of the most criminal state in History. The USofA.
A viewer posted this video from Alexander Mercouris on another thread but moderator recommended it be submitted to Open Thread:
“Summit for Democracy Flops as States Reject US/UK Attempt to Create United Nations Alternative”
Mercouris reviews in detail all of Uncle $cam’s persistent attempts to pervert the UN into a Global Enforcer for U$ Power, from WW2 to the the present failed Summit of the Unwilling. I believe that Putin’s insistence on the Rule of Law has been a welcome corrective to the insidious slide of the UN into abject failure of its mission to promote world peace and protect the weak against the strong. Mercouris ends by pointing out that numerous small nations refused Uncle’s call to join his rival organization because they have seen what happens to erstwhile friends of The Man From Uncle. Small nations are glad the UN is there; I only wish the UN would do more to remember why it is there. Now two really big nations, China and Russia, are reminding the world.
“The U$A has no friends, only interests. To be a friend of the U$ is dangerous” — Henry Kissinger, the Godfather of U$ Foreign Relations.
I had heard HK had said “To be and enemy of the US is dangerous, to be a friend is fatal.”
Glad to learn that you left and then returned again safely, albeit exhausted. Zoom meetings way to go ? I look forward to your next analysis Saker !..

Finally someone willing to show courage in separating politics from sports.
Pres Putin has spoken to Finnish President today….Lavrov with new Foreign Minister Germany …..so …doing the rounds……stressing the urgency of matters……
What if Russia invaded and made a rump state east of The Dnieper river that would be Russian friendly, Vichy Ukraine without pejorative slant. Would this just encourage NATO to arm up on their side of the river and in the end be a disagreeable result from the Russian strategic security perspective?
