You read that right. Like something out of one of the worst James Bond movies, the Soviet Union developed a world-ending mechanism that would launch all of its nuclear weapons without any command from an actual human.
Russia currently has an estimated 1,600 deployed tactical nuclear weapons, with another 2,400 strategic nuclear weapons tied to intercontinental ballistic missiles. This makes Russia the largest nuclear power in the world. All of these weapons are tied into the Perimeter, an automatic nuclear weapons control system.
The RT-2PM ICBM was designed to be road mobile and is mounted on a heavy truck.
In a crisis that might mean a first strike from the United States, high-ranking government officials or military commanders could activate the Perimeter. Perimeter would guarantee that the Soviet Union (and now, Russia) could respond even if its entire armed forces were wiped out.
Once switched on, the Perimeter system can launch the entire Russian nuclear arsenal in response to a nuclear attack. It was part of the Cold War doctrine of mutually assured destruction, a means of deterring nuclear attacks by ensuring the side who initiated a first strike also would be annihilated.
Called “Dead Hand” in the West, the theory is that a command and control system measures communications on military frequencies, radiation levels, air pressure, heat and short-term seismic disturbances. If the measurement points to a nuclear attack, the Perimeter begins a sequence that would end in the firing of all ICBMs in the Soviet (now, Russian) arsenal.
Perimeter would launch a command rocket, tipped with a radio warhead that transmits launch orders to Russian nuclear silos, even with the presence of radio jamming. The rocket would fly across the entire length of the country. After a number of test launches to prove the viability of such a command rocket, the Perimeter system went online in 1985.
The Soviet Union never confirmed that such a system ever existed, but Russian Strategic Missile Forces Gen. Sergey Karakaev confirmed it to a Russian newspaper in 2011, saying the U.S. could be destroyed in 30 minutes. Russian state media outlets suggest the system was upgraded to include radar early warning systems and Russia’s new hypersonic missiles.

David Collum’s Year in Review is heavily focused on the SMO in Ukraine and what lead to it. Collum is a chemistry professor at Cornell University. He’s made a name for himself in the world of finance by writing, for the past dozen years or so, an annual review of things financial, including political and social waves that effect finance.

What makes Collum’s review special for this board is his perspective as a cogent newbie to the subject. His is the point of view of a competent thinker who, as self described, was pretty much clueless about the situation in the Ukraine until it metastasized last February.
I think he gets it, and in good depth. This is an example of the result of someone who thinks because he has a brain, who is intellectually honest, rather than because he has an axe to grind.
What makes Collum special is that he thinks critically, does hard science for a living, is adept at studying new topics, has a bevy of friends and contacts who talk to him because of his proven track record of making sense out of murk, and who calls a duck a duck.
Collum often gives interviews that I always find interesting and easy to listen to. Here’s a recent one with Jay Martin (here at timemark 35:45).
Collum has a good sense of humor too…he put “Novochok” on his exams…only one fella failed. To expert, the proper IUPAC name more or less tells how to make an organic molecule.

in a drawn out manner, ie; Huuu….
Woe is me ,lol… HU does not belong to any religion, and can be used
by followers of all paths to experience an upliftment of consciousness,
relief from stress, sorrow or confusion, a desire for clarity etc. It is, in
effect, God’s gift to Soul.
HU is popularized by Eckankar, not that that’s important.
… and we are HU-mans, children of the living God.
That is correct, though HU has been known for thousands of years, and has been
spoken of by many spiritual teachers, such as the Sufis, Rumi and Hazrat Inayat
Khan whose book the Music of the Spheres goes into detail on the subject of the
Sound Current aka The Holy Spirit etc. HU-man Beings = God-man beings, each
with an eternal and temporal component. The point of chanting HU is to awaken
and so engage the eternal aspect within us all, that which lies largely dormant
in most of us.
The reference to Hu survives to this day in English language speaking countries.

Indeed it does, Uncle Davy. And what’s remarkable is it’s meaning is intact,
ie; HU-man being = God-man Being, HU-manity, Humour, humility, posthumous,
humongous etc. On a vibrational level, it can be heard as the ‘motor’ behind all
sounds of nature, as well as all man made sounds. Most of all, truly remarkable
in its effect. I used to have a cat that would come and sit in my lap and doze off

describing the subtle state that comes during the first moments when we start
crossing over from wakefulness to sleep, and how in this moment we may find
the subtle thread of awareness before we slip into subconsciousness. If our

use that moment to cross over into a spiritually awakened experience. Gently
repeating the HU before sleep aids immeasurably in achieving that crossover.

The ruling class is bracing for a recession, (and naturally everyone under them is squeezed for money), and they do this by hording cash or very liquid securities. That in turn is leading to a shortage of Foreign Exchange Reserves in certain country’s backed by the dollar.
These reserves are spare tangible dollars mostly, held at the central banks of said country’s, to be introduced into their economy on demand.
And it is that demand that is putting a strain on central banks to keep a lid on a panic global recession, so as to let the high rollers get their money out first, and the others struggle and pay more for dollars on the black mkt.
When things get tight the IMF has special drawing rights which are meant to put some kind of a guarantee on these reserves, but if a run were to occur, would one hear about this or would the rush to the black mkt overwhelm the ability of the IMF?
Interesting days ahead.

And I do believe that that is the future for Zelinsky. He’s either going to be forced out of office and given the chance to live abroad in one of his mansions, or he’s going to be killed should he seek to stay on. But we already see the West is walking away from Zelinski, you know we see that in just the way that, you know media coverage is focusing now on Zaluzhny and other Ukrainian generals as being the heroes, the defense Ministry is taking front stage …”

Russia really does play behind the eight ball, Medvedchuk’s been back in Russia for a while, there are many Ukrainian expats in Russia, the Federation should have had a government in absentia set to roll, including plausible deniability, then when Medvedchuk was released, declared him ….anyway maybe yet to get there, Russia rolls, slowly, methodical, I suppose they see free and fair elections, or illusions or delusions of such…..like western selections…
….side note, by chance did you view Nate’s vids? One from Soldar I believe, lots of bodies in weird positions, many in doorways, the odd part, many with ridged limbs, some raised, like mannequin or frozen, except dead men don’t die with arms raised…..not sure if anyone else caught that, maybe they had been flipped before filming. Killmilk, the head of the pro-Russian group Killnet, told Lente.ru about this.
