Damascus Airport temporarily shut down by alleged Israeli airstrikes
Two Syrian soldiers were killed and two others wounded early on Monday morning in alleged Israeli airstrikes targeting Damascus International Airport, the SANA Syrian state news agency reported.
SANA added that material damage had been sustained in the strikes as well and that the main international airport in the capital was temporarily out of service as a result of the damage sustained.
The transport ministry said in an online statement that workers had removed debris from the strikes and that flights would resume by 9 a.m.
Prior to the Israeli air strike, NO ATTACKS against Israel had taken place. No threat of attack had been made. No one in Israel was injured or killed. No property in Israel was damaged, destroyed, or stolen.

An error of the West’s strategy about China and chips is that the embargo, being intolerable, will only spur China to overcome it. The effort will be focused and in earnest. When they are done, a huge portion of the world production of goods will not need Western chips, and the Chinese chip industry will not need Western fab equipment.

Considering the big picture, Russia has made big strides so far in the SMO. In my sight, overarching goals included letting the world become multipolar without being first destroyed, and increasing Russia’s native capabilities and independence, with her people engaged.

They’ve field tested new weapons and gained vital experience.They’ve learned some things, like about drones, that they can improve.
They are in the process of giving combat experience to peoples of their army.
They’ve allowed the western leaders to publicly admit that they are feckless.
They’ve attained great clarity about the West’s inability to fulfill a contract.
They’ve stripped any illusions of China, India, and many other nations, may have had about the munificent natures of the West.
They’ve avoided, for the moment, hammer and tongs kinetic WWIII.
Certainly some of these things are fissures. Such will widen with time and tapping.
I’m disappointed that western sociopaths did not wake up to the errors of their ways and become civilized. That was not under Russia’s control. And sociopaths are incorrigible.
I’m disappointed that the normal people in the West have not widely woken up to what their leaders are up to. The normal people are being ruined, even if that is not yet clear to themselves. That was not under Russia’s control. They’ve laid out fact and reason plainly and simply for anyone who care to, to see. God did not grant Russia the power to give sight to the blind and reason to the self deluded.

It appears the US has, as far as energy goes, hamstrung itself for basic immediate needs while placing itself at the brink of it’s self annihilation. Investors dropping USD investments like a “bad habit” will add to their inflation rate.
A last-ditch effort to engage the enemy (themselves being the worst of them) and bully RF’s neighbors, allies, and business partners seems like their last hurrah.
I’m imagining a backlash against such deluded sense of omnipotence to be like a tightly wound spring. Or a pin-ball machine flashing “TILT” after hitting it one-too-many times.

MOSCOW, RUSSIA — Ammunition, shells, and Ukrainian-supplied military equipment were destroyed following a Russian attack early this morning on the Druzhkivka railway station in the Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR]. This was claimed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, adding in its statement that two MLRS HIMARS installations were also destroyed.
A spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Mr. Igor Konashenkov, announced that Russia had carried out missile and air strikes on a stockpile of Ukrainian military equipment in the station area. Additionally, four Czech RM-70 multiple rocket launchers, 800 rockets, and six vehicles were destroyed. Mr. Konashenkov announced that “up to 120 Ukrainian servicemen were killed” as a result of the Russian attacks.
Mr. Konashenkov said in his statement that three M777 towed howitzers donated by the US to Ukraine had been destroyed. However, they were destroyed in another missile and air attack in the area of the city of Artemovsk [DPR] and the village of Chervona Dibrova [LPR]. I don’t know what Netanyahu really thinks, and I don’t cogitate eliteum-thinkum.
It seems to me that Russia and Iran may have come to recognize that they have much in common. Both are withstanding an in-all-but-name war from the West for breaking the Rule that says they must capitulate to the West on matters of trade, foreign policy and sovereignty.
If the shooting in Ukraine should stop today, I doubt it would have any effect on efforts to develop and support their mutual interests. There is that trade corridor to the Indian Ocean to develop, exploit and defend. There is that desire that neither be subject to Western duress.
I would agree no complete capitulation, no turning away from Iran a good ally, that is not Russia’s style. But Putin is pragmatic and MKB gave some good reasons for a go at this. Just a go – not one hundred percent anything if at all, an attempt only at a change in policy. I don’t see an abandonment of agendas.
Interestingly enough Ukraine is not happy about any of this and they also sense change.

One of the planned repercussions of the Ukrainian missile attack on Makeyevka (Donetsk) on New Year Day is a change in Russia’s government.
