It will not come as a surprise that the news in Germany have been dominated by the events of New Year’s Eve in particular and the migrant crisis in general.
In Cologne but also in other German and European cities women reportedly have been the victims of coordinated attacks by mobs of foreigners. Reportedly the attacks were mainly sexual assaults or rape and/or robbery.
The police was reportedly unable to control the situation.
I trust that most readers will be somewhat aware of the situation. The Saker posted a piece on the issue and was met with a lot of criticism.
Personally I am really disgusted by the reaction to these events. More so than by the events themselves.
There is no reason to see this as a turning point. This is simply the outcome of unconstitutional policies.
Everyone who did not bury their heads in sand saw this coming ages ago.
Even if the policies of the German government were not completely illegal they would still be amazingly stupid.
Germany is a wealthy nation. But it cannot finance a “western Hollywood lifestyle” even for most of its own citizens. It certainly cannot finance anything remotely like that for dozens of millions of poverty- and misery-struck people from all over the world.
I do not blame anyone for packing their bags and trying to migrate to Germany. If they think that this will help them and their families live a more desirable life, they have every reason to try.
I also think that the German people have an obligation to provide aid and refuge for those, who have nowhere else to go, and to get them out of harm’s way.
Much of Germany’s wealth is based on age old schemes of exploitation of disadvantaged peoples in more or less distant parts of the world. Now a lot of people from these regions migrate to Germany. We have debts to pay and much of the damage we caused cannot be undone.
But we can only help within our means.
If we overextend them we will lose our ability to help at all.
Our politicians are about to exhaust our collective willingness to share what we have but do not need, with those who need what we can spare.
A substantial part of migrants do not flee from life-threatening danger but gravitate towards easy money. As I said earlier, I do not blame them.
They want free passage to Germany when they arrive in Greece or Italy, not because their life is threatened in Greece or Italy, but because they think that Germany will give them more easy money.
Now bit by bit countries all over Europe close their borders and refuse to accept refugees.
The EU cannot even distribute about 150k migrants without some member states going to court about the issue, while Germany has already harboured over a million refugees in 2015.
Having granted hundreds of thousands of refugees free passage to Germany in 2015, Austria now decided to take in no more than 37.500 refugees in 2016.
That is: They will not allow more of them to stay in Austria, but I bet as long as Germany lets everyone in, they will not trouble themselves with protecting their borders. Why risk all the bad press? The Germans invited everyone, now let them break first and then blame it all on them.
There is no end in sight.
Unless Germany says that it will not take any more migrants.
That is all it would take.
And while we are at it, let us face some other realities here and now:
No more extent and pretend. No more vassalage. No more US dictate. No more foreign military bases on German soil. No more NATO war and terror with German active or tacit support. No more being spied on by the NSA and our government only lamely protesting.
No more submission!

I for one would like to see the Germans be independently German and content to be German in Germany.

I think that the German people should have more of a say regarding the policies of open borders.
As much as they have an obligation to help those in need, they have the right to be and stay distinctly German.

The thing is, many people are shy to speak up because of the MSM conditioning. And they don’t have an education to counter the MSM stream of lies. They’ve been told so many lies so often about their history that they don’t know who they are, what is their identity, where they stand in the great scheme of things and what are their natural rights to the land inhabited by their ancestors. They’ve been taught to forget that things such as “land” and “ancestors”, old-fashioned as they may seem, are central to a nation’s identity. Many will regard such notions with suspicion. So their defense is very weak and they go along like sheep.

Hi, ioan. The “mea culpa” is not from WW2 but from after the war, when new generations were incited to hate their fathers and their nation. I am sorry that you did not like the article. It does contain some passages that could be considered “bad jokes”, maybe this is why you say it is badly written, but what you quote is not a joke.
I really think that the Germans have this obligation. It is a basic Christian duty. And if someone really has to travel thousands of miles through various countries and can only find safe harbour in Germany, I think it would be very cruel to turn them away because they have come from so far.
But this is not the situation as I see it today, and I thought I made that quite clear. I am decidedly against the current immigration policies in Germany.

Accept refugees for a period of time till they can return home – yes. But I don’t think we have an obligation. Because … do others? Apparently no.
But there’s a difference between an open door and no questions asked policy, and accepting those who have nowhere else to go.
And it’s very bad to even try to “integrate” those refugees against the will of the native people. It should be made clear that they will all return home. And that the government has the obligation to work for peace by supporting president Assad. But this is not what the gov is doing. Quite the opposite actually.
But it gets worse. Luring away the wealthy (educated) Syrian classes, which is what they have been doing, is a form of social warfare. A Syrian lawyer, for instance, has zero perspective in Germany. He’d be useful in Syria but is useless in Germany. The only purpose of such a cynical migration policy can be to weaken Syria.

And that does not only mean giving temporary shelter. It also means inviting people to stay in some cases. I personally know children of Iranian refugees, born and raised in Germany, who speak hardly any Farsi, have never been to Iran, and yet face deportation to Iran. That is just not right. That is not sending people home but getting rid of undesirables.
But of course that does not mean that the Germans have the obligation to feed every hungry mouth that turns up on their doorstep. I never said that, in fact I tried to say quite the opposite.

I think that is not what the Saker wrote. I would rather paraphrase what he said more or less as “The West is morally completely bankrupt and the refugees’ contempt for their hosts is understandable.”
He said some things about women’s clothing that seem to have pressed all the red buttons for a lot of readers. I do not fully agree with the views expressed in his article, but this aspect of it seems to be way overblown in the reactions to it.
I for one think that it is reasonable to expect of every man to respect every woman’s right not to be raped or sexually molested no matter what she wears or how attractive she might be.
I think a lot of this “hiding women under garment” probably comes from weak men, who do not trust themselves to be in control of their own urges, and consequently trust no one else either.

Refugee crisis: Throughout this drama one question has bothered me: Why are not the Palestinians allowed out of their camps to emigrate to Europe since they haven’t had a country to return to for 70 years? They would come as stable family groups–not these young men fleeing taking part in their own country’s inner strife?

In the age of cheap labor competition from just about everywhere, Germany’s wealth is based on exporting high-quality, high-value added products that are not easy to copy to countries where there are customers (state, corporate, private) who can afford them. Germany plays in the Syria conflict a much greater role than previously known. A spy ship of the German Navy cruises in front of the Syrian coast. This “spy ship” has state of the art espionage technology of the German intelligence service (BND) on board. This allows to observe the troop movements up to 600 kilometers deep in Syria. This intelligence, such as the military operations of the Assad army, are passed on to the American and British intelligence services propagated. From there the information goes to the Syrian liberation army.
BND agents are also stationed in the Turkish Nato base in Adana. From there they listen to phone calls and radio traffic from Syria. In addition, the informal contact is held with sources in the direct environment of the Assad regime. “No Western intelligence service has such good sources in Syria as the German intelligence service (BND),” said a U.S. intelligence agent.
Within the spy service and the Federal government the role in the international coalition is perceived as a great honor. “We can be proud of the contribution we are making to the fall of the Assad regime“, confirms a BND spy.

I couldn’t agree more. Most truthful remark I’ve seen for a long time coming from Germany.
Consider, the German Constitution was written by the Americans after the war, for one, this was to benfit the Americans and their capitalistic system, NOT the Germans.
Why is Germany not allowed to hold it’s gold reserves within it’s own country ?
Who makes this stipulation ? Why is it not allowed ? How can Germany be a self Governed nation if others can stipulate what it can and cannot do ????
I’m bloody glad my parents decided to immigrate directly after the war, I’d hate to be living under such conditions today, I’d probably be locked up as a criminal. LOL.
Allow me to give a very small example of how pathetic this refugee crisis in Germany has become.
1) German homeless in Berlin are kicked out of a building onto the street so additional refugees who have just arrived have a place to stay.
2) Any person with German parents born outside of German must apply to have their by having their German heritage proven through the application (Antrag auf Feststellung der deutschen Staatsangehörigkeit) meaning Application for a declaration of German nationality. This application requires multiple forms where all ancestors have to be listed with legalized birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates from archives and detailed information’s on the individual Germans ancestors whereabouts, place of residences and places they lived. In other words it is very extensive. People living in any of the safe countries or third safe countries which include all of Europe and many surrounding areas can not stay in any asylum centers in Germany and do not get any access to emergency social services.
In contrast any non German person showing up from the middle east, Africa or Asia without any documentation whatsoever can claim they are a refugee and receive free food, temporary shelter, a bed, medical services and safe shelter. Germans in trouble in the rest of Europe are not allowed to stay in such asylum centers and told to live on the street or to apply to a shelter with homeless drug addicted persons. Any Germans of any ethnic background protesting in Germany are labelled richt-extremists, left-extremists, Anarchists, terrorists, Nazis while the present Government also calls any new party challenging them on the mass Refugee intake as a Nazi party. The obvious result is resentment and anger and will be mass protests with violence. Many innocents will suffer with Angelika Merkel and her parties policies directly to blame. She has betrayed her own country Germany, its German poor, the unemployed, the homeless and the vulnerable for which there are is increasingly no social security and help.
In fact Angelika Merkel and her ruling coalition are effective as recruiters for any extremist parties, including all those “Gastarbeiter” Guest worker families, now Germans and their children who have fought for so long to get equal paying employment. It seems that local people are simply left out of any decision making process while the new mass refugee wave has a tremendous social, economic impact on everyday German society. I foresee a lot more violence and the present ruling coalition is to blame. They betrayed Germany.

Just the same situation in Sweden and last year more migrants and refugees arrived to Sweden per capita than to Germany.
Handicapped, elderly and homeless, and other weak groups may have to pay the price for this policy. After more than 25 years of neoliberal economy those groups need more help than ever.
Of course, in the name of solidarity, we have to help real refugees, but now we know from EU and Frontex that 60% are just migrants searching for a better life.
Germany and Sweden have the same stupid politicians understanding less of this situation than ordinary people.
It is just astonishing how brainless leaders we have. And the EU is a disaster.
