If you can, check out the live stream from al-Jazeera here:
Lots of good reporting from them, and also images from Gaza.
I can’t help laughing at the monumental incompetence of the USraelian Empire. First they announce that “Mubarak must stay” clearing proving that the bloated US ‘intelligence’ community (16 agencies!) go it 100% wrong (again!), and now they looking at Mubarak’s departure. LOL!
Frankly, I don’t see ANY signs that the events there are staged. I think that the Imperial rulers are absolutely clueless, totally overwhelmed by the spontaneous events.
Yes, clearly there is a very real risk of having this popular revolution hijacked by the military, el-Baradei, or any other faithful servant of the US Empire. But the reality of this risk does not entail that the events so far where somehow controlled, much less so triggered, by the “Imperial High Command”.
Keep an eye on the Gaza-Egyptian border. My guess it that we will be able to tell the reality of what happened by what happens on this border.
“Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew, 7:16)
Bet the Saudis aren’t happy. If there’s one regime in the region I’d love to see fall even more than Mubarak it’s that one. The Saudis are behind half the Islamic terrorism and have been promoting far right Wahabist ideology in madrassas across Pakistan for years.
If you have no state education for the poor because the elites in these Third World countries won’t pay their taxes expect private charity to step in with strings attached. So many are dependent on the mosques and the mullahs and the Saudis pay for the program.
Its noticeable that Saudis were allowed to leave the US after 9/11 because the powers that be didn’t want them investigated. There needs to be some serious journalism on the interface between the House of Bush and the House of Saud.
true Robert. That’s THE regime that I want to see fall.. followed by China. Let’s see how long it will survive after this historic moment.
@Robert
Pakistanis were working with the Saudis to operate Wahabi madrassas in Pakistan and Afghanistan since 79.
Saudis are most active in supporting Wahabi terrorism in Russia.
@Shashank
China why?
I hope China is able to defend itself against western aggression especially state sponsored terrorism in Tibet and Xinjing.
@Jack
China is more from the standpoint of India than anything else. If China were a democracy then it would probably be a little less crazy and try to instigate crap in India. That way we could have excellent relationship with them, like we have had for the better part of the past 5000+ years.
