Really, really, great speech. I would only have a couple of points to raise on it. First would be all the cussing in it.Now personally I have no problem with that.I’ve been known to speak like that (a lot actually). But only in conversing with friends. To get the point across to a mass audience a lot less cussing would get the video on social media sites more. The second criticism is that they need to have an American do the video.I like this guy a lot.But for Americans, someone that is American complaining about the MSM in the US would be more effective. An example of that from the other direction is.whenever the Israelis make propaganda directed to Americans (they do a lot),give interviews to the press. And come on political talk shows. They almost “always” put on fluent English speaking Israelis.Many/most without an accent hardly at all .Some of them American born or raised. While more than half of all the Palestinian spokespersons shown, have thick accents. And many times can barely speak English. That is a deliberate policy by the Israelis. They know if they project themselves as “one of us”,while the Palestinian is seen as “the other”.They will have the upper hand in the propaganda war.Russia seems to understand that well. Which is why we see so many Russian government spokespeople with fluent English talking in the press. The same should have been done with this “rant”.It would have been better that way ,to get people in the US to accept it.
UB1:
I take your point regarding WAtson’s not being a Yank.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there are any Yanks around who can do what he does!! Or, they are not doing it.
If he gave an American a script or something, I don’t think it would be the same. He is really pissed off and he really communicates that, and for me as a fellow traveler, it is quite satisfying to see/hear someone really telling it like it is, unvarnished—who also has done the journalistic chops. I like that cockney (I think it is) edge. AT least, English working class of some kind (I think). That comes through. He is NOT a talking head. He is am emotional thinking head. So, I reckon we have to be glad that Watson is out there doing what he does.
Regarding the language, I can’t say anything about social media, since i know zip about it. But I think most people are now used to hearing the f-word used in films etc. as part of emotional speech and adding an intensity that is hard to convey so effectively in other ways—whcih is probably why fuck and shit are here to stay in more and more language settings. And also, oddly, adds a touch of humor—I guess it is black humor.
I agree,in that I like him too. But that isn’t the point. If he was saying what he said for a British audience about the British media (and he easily could have). Then it would have been perfect. But he wasn’t,He was saying that for an American audience, about the American media. And that is the problem with a non-American saying it.Just off the top of my head I can think of several Americans who they could have gotten to say that. His own boss,Alex Jones, for one of them. Informational warfare (propaganda) is only effective when tailored to the audience you want to reach. And that is the problem here. It wasn’t tailored correctly for the audience. So it won’t be as effect as it should have been. The words (cussing or not) were powerful. And with the right tailoring should have had an impact, far beyond what it will have.
Actually the opposite is true regarding his accent. If you pay attention you might notice that many large corporations will use British accented voices in their American ads. The British accent in small doses strikes the American ear as refined and aristocratic, thus it works well for serious issues like news, money matters, life insurance and so on.
Mr. Watson’s issue is his overuse of profanity. The odd sprinkling of profanity at emotional peaks can be effective, however repetition of vulgarity grates on the sensibilities of even the worst of us. Even those with the trashiest of mouths will have more unconscious respect for a smooth trash talker like Muhammad Ali, than they do for someone vulgar and base like Howard Stern.
As I said I like the guy.So I don’t want to bedevil the point. But surely you wouldn’t class his accent with the kind used in those ads you mention. Those are the “Ben Kingsley or Roger Moore” type British accents. And they are used to sell expensive products by making the buyer think, that “they too” will somehow be as “cultured and sophisticated” as those actors if they buy that product.Something the video was not attempting to do.
Wrong. The only thing that depressed his English accented aristocratic birthright….was his vulgarity. I never spoke to his intentions, or attempts to do anything, I was merely answering to the suggestion that a British speaker cannot effectively engage an American audience.
It is not the actor that has the influence, it is the accent, which itself is embedded into the American psyche as ‘aristocratic’ and ‘refined’. These are unconscious psychological phenomena, not character identifications.
UB1:”And that is the problem with a non-American saying it.Just off the top of my head I can think of several Americans who they could have gotten to say that. His own boss,Alex Jones, for one of them.”
Well, Jones didn’t. Dd ‘e.
Not anyone else, did they. Watson did it.
Hit is ‘is, so to speak.
And Jones kinda grates on the ear and eye, IMHO.
I reckon Jones has less credibility than Watson.
The accent is not a negative.
Anyone who is likely to be listening will recognize it as a working-class accent.
Well… strictly speaking I guess you’re correct on many counts. But if we raise the bar so high, by the time we find an American-accent, non-brainwashed, high-level writer, engaging orator that wants to do his own podcasts, hell may have frozen over. I take it as it comes and it comes really enjoyable!
As for cursing… personally I found that it adds to the enjoyability!
You are showing your age and regional originance, UB1. :D
Want to make a strong statement today, cuss like muhfugger. That is the way it is. Cussing, or mat, is older than human beings, chimps swear, and can be creative about it. Cussing isn’t some alien influence the pindo’s are hiding in Area 51, or their midwestern basements, along with who knows what, it is an intimate development of planet earth linguistic/psychological existence.
Indulge, and give the c-suckers and the goatsods hell in the process. We all know who they are.
I agree that a homegrown US accent might have more impact on Americans, but both Reuters and AP are owned by the Rothschilds (a much bigger problem). If you haven’t seen James Corbett’s video of MSM talking heads on numerous channels repeating wire service scripts verbatim, it’s a classic that shouldn’t be overlooked.
Useful? Counterpoint to that English guy on London radio ranting re Russia…I suggest these two persons get “together” and metaphorically cross swords……..
How incredibly naive. They will not stop as long as it works. And it does work. That means they don’t have to care about morality. These technologies have existed since humans learned to talk.
As a gamer and a fan of Science Fiction I can say that people buy any shit as long as it is hyped enough, that is why we have scores of trash on the market, because people buy it.
P.S. No need to insult the nerd in me, thank you!:)
Nice rant and the sort of thing useful to enlighten right wingers with, provided it is explained that the zio-gay media blitz on trump is what the subhuman sods do in response to every “bad guy” zionazia designates.
Wow!
This guy truly hits the nail on the head!
Catherine Austin Fitts calls the MSM, the Shriek-O-Meter. More apt, I think.

Paul Joseph Watson is awesome.
He really hit that one out of the park.
Yep, I agree.
Katherine
I agree too. More people should see his video’s.

Donald Trump has a plan for the corporate media (if he gets elected President):

On the topic of mainstream fiction, this isn’t really Hillary Clinton, it’s a double.
