Dear friends,
I think that three weeks into this special military operation we can take a few moments to pause and think about where we are and where we go from here.
My first observation is this: there are, roughly, two main groups of people out there, those who “get it” and those who don’t. In practical terms, this is what this means for me: when I write I am either “preaching to the choir” or I am trying to reach folks who are “unreachable” (being polite here).
For the past three weeks, I have tried to debunk the US PSYOP narrative, alongside folks like Andrei Martyanov at Reminiscences of the Future and Bernhard at Moon of Alabama. My health does not allow me to sustain such a crazy tempo and I need to enter something of a “temporary rest mode” if I want to avoid being forced into rest by my body.
Yet I still get a daily deluge of questions from those who did not “get it” and, frankly, I am exhausted trying to debunk the same stuff over and over and over again.
So, one last time:
In purely military terms, the picture we see now is simple: the Ukie military as a strategic instrument basically died in the first 24 hours. Then the Russians used a small force to bypass and block main cities. With some very notable exceptions (Mariupol) they did not try to enter them. Why? For 3 crucial reasons:
- they did not have the manpower needed (in Mariupol the force correlation is about 1:1 when it should really be 3-5:1 in favor of the attacker)
- they wanted to kill as few Ukrainians as possible and
- they did not want to flatten cities only to have to pay for their reconstruction.
So where are the rest of the Russian forces and what are they doing?
They are mostly in their permanent deployment bases and they are ready for a war against the US+NATO.
And if you are the type of believes that “the Russians are running out of manpower” ask yourself why the Black Sea Fleet did not use its elite Naval Infantry, amphibious landing capability or its firepower (I remind you that all the huge damage done to the NATO base in western Ukraine was just a single salvo from one single small vessel (what the Russians call a “small missile ship”), probably with one (land or air based) Iskander to add some specific “punch” where needed. If the Russians were running out of manpower, would she not use the Black Sea Fleet to the max? Instead, she is keeping it near Odessa, ready to strike if/when needed, not only at the Ukraine, but at NATO too (ditto for the group of Russian ships in the eastern Mediterranean).
This is why Putin refers to this operation as a “special military operation” and not as a “war” or a “combined arms operation”.
Again, you either “get it” or you don’t. It’s that simple, really.
So here is roughly where we are today (yesterday’s Readovka map):
So we are likely to end up with something looking like this:
And I don’t see the point of reporting how we will go from the top map to the projection above blow by blow, town by town.
The real question that comes to my mind looking at the projection above is not “how do we get there?” but “where do we go from there once we make it?”. Right now this decision time is still probably a couple of weeks into the future.
Whatever may be the case, I have decided to stop posting updates every day (sometimes several times a day) and, instead, alternate analyses days and open thread days.
So from now on, expect analyses only every 2nd day (unless big events happen).
Next, I don’t see any other way to stop the US+UK+PL to intervene other than by means of a Iskander/Kalibr strike not “just” upon any target in the Ukraine, but also strikes on whatever NATO facility is central to the current war preparations by NATO, including locations in Poland , Romania or anywhere else in Europe.
I hope that I am wrong and that the US+UK+PL are not as terminally blinded by their hatred of Russia as to risk an actual full scale war in Europe.
But I have to admit that this hope is small and getting smaller by the day.
It is therefore quite possible, maybe even likely, that in the not too distant future we will see US and Russian military personnel meeting in combat. If that happens, not only will the risks of a fullscale nuclear war go sharply up, but it would place me personally in an impossible situation: I would be a guest of the USA (“Green Card” – I only have a Swiss Passport) while my country of ethnic origin would be at war with the USA.
I have therefore taken the following decision: if there is a war in Europe, I will continue to cover it until 1) Russian and US soldiers meet in battle and/or 2) a nuclear strike happens anywhere. If we reach either of these points, then this will not only prove that the Saker blog failed in its main mission (avoid war) but it will also place me personally in an impossible situation.
If either of the two events happen, I will then “freeze” the blog until the war stops.
I don’t like to have to take the two decisions above, in fact I very much regret them both, but things are quickly getting out of hand and I need to prepare, both the blog and my personal life.
Question: remember the Israeli war against Hezbollah in 2006?
Hezbollah won this war by a humongous margin, and the US+Israel had to surrender to Hezbollah terms. Not only that, but this war made Hezbollah much, much stronger than it was before. Yet it began by a miscalculation which Hassan Nasrallah himself admitted: Hezbollah never expected the Israelis to go so far overboard and basically hammer Lebanon with everything they had for over a month.
I see a parallel here.
No, I do not think that the Russian military operation has run into any major issues, by and large what happened in these three weeks must be pretty much what the Russians expected.
In economic terms, there is this big debate now about the Russian gold and foreign currency reserves which I am not capable of commenting upon since I am not an economist. I will let much smarter people than I deal with that.
I also think that the Russians knew in advance what kind of sanctions the West would introduce sooner or later, but I think that the Kremlin was taken by surprise at the speed and scope of the sanctions. How much of a problem is that? Well, I generally favor Western sanctions against Russia because they force Russia to build a sovereign economy and because they de-couple Russia from the institutions controlled by the Empire of Lies.
Here, again, time will tell and much smarter people then I can offer their insights into this.
However, I think that most people in Russia are stunned by what is a full-scale “hate war” on Russia which we can call the “Cancel Russia war“. In essence, the West did throw everything it had at Russia short of a overt military aggression and knowing the geniuses in power in the US+UK+PL I would not even put it past them to try to fight Russia directly.
So what began as a special military operation to denazify and disarm Banderastan in a preemptive war turned into a global “Cancel Russia” world war.
How could I blame folks in Russia for not being able to imagine the utter suicidal depravity of the Western ruling classes when I, who was born in the heart of Europe and lived all my life in the West could not imagine these ruling classes to be so absolutely out of touch with reality?
Again, to be clear, Russians were not “naive” to “trust” the West about anything, but they indeed assumed that the ruling class of the USA would not decide to blow up the planet economically and even possibly militarily because it would hurt the interests of the US ruling class. So if anybody is “dumbshit stupid” it is hardly the Russians, but rather the folks who rule over the USA (and, therefore, over the EU too).
There is also this Russian expression: “you should count your chicks in the Fall”. Let’s see by year’s end who was really dumbshit stupid and who will have prevailed.
Now I think that it is time for all of us, myself included, to let go of the thought “no, they can’t possibly by THAT delusional” and assume that yes, they are really THAT delusional.
I also see another parallel: remember how the USA forced Japan into a war and then wrapped itself in the mantle of an innocent victim and declared “this day shall live in infamy”?
That is exactly what the USA just pulled off in Europe. And the consequences might be just as immense.
But there is a big difference here: Japan could not meaningfully strike at the continental USA. Russia very much can, with both nuclear and conventional weapons.
Here I will only repeat the quote by Putin which I mentioned the day before the Russian special military operation: “if a fight is inevitable you should strike first“. In plain English this means that if the Russians come to the conclusion that the US is engaged in a “Desert Shield” type of operation (claim to be only defensive while preparing for months for a full-scale ground invasion) then you can be sure that Russia will strike EU airports, seaports or any other facility used to prepare an attack on Russia.
In fact, if the US/NATO do decide to attack Russia, this will be the final, nuclear, end for the Western civilization as such. After 1000 years of genocidal imperialism, one could be forgiven for thinking that this could be a fitting, just, end” in the “chicken coming home to roost” kind of karmic justice.
Now it is in the hands of the US ruling elites.
Frankly, there is very little Andrei, Bernhard of myself can do about that. I sure have said all I have to say on this topic and, again, some see it, others don’t – and there is nothing more I can do to affect this ratio.
The future of our planet now depends on whether the traditional Western hatred for all things Russian is bigger or smaller than the self-preservation instincts of US ruling class (the Eurolemmings are hopeless).
Only time will tell. All we can do now is pray and place our trust and lives into God’s hands.
Okay, these are the things I wanted to communicate to you all, my friends and readers. I still hope for the best, but I have to prepare for the worst, and I want to be fully candid with all of you.
Kind regards
Andrei
An interesting development two days back on sanctions front. The first dilution of financial sanction against Russia took place, when Russia asked J P Morgan to pay off interest to its debt holder, which had become due, from its deposits with it. And, J P Morgan after getting clearance from the US government made the payment. Another interesting aspect is that several American pension funds are holding Russian bonds. This has made it politically very difficult for US to deny payments which are becoming due on these bonds from Russia’s reserves impounded by it.
I feel it has become a bit of a WW3 echo chamber here lately. It’s not constructive and only drains energy.
Personally I have for a long time held the view that we are living in WW3, of which we now can see the ending.
The classic way Russia wins it’s wars are by avoiding confrontation in time/space, while it builds it strengt and the enemy is weakened. It has taken 30 years before it felt ready to present it’s non-ultimatum, which in reality is an offer of an orderly capitulation by the EoL. Ukraine is just a distractive side show in all of this.
I feel great, divine justice seems to be on its way and decades of misery can turn to a fading memory of the past.
I confess that I’m a member of the choir that Andrei preaches to but for the benefit of the ‘unreachables’ please let me just explain how one may become a member of the choir and ‘get it.’
It’s rather easy, actually.
First thing is to pay close attention to what Russia’s leaders, starting with the top, Vladimir Putin, have to say about the matter, even if, for most of us who are not Russian speakers, we are only getting a translation of what has been said. Granted, it is sometimes difficult to listen to hour-long speeches or read the transcripts of what are essentially dry material, but that’s their style — no bombast, no histrionics, nothing sensationalist, just a matter-of-fact telling of the story. Many of us do not have the patience to listen/read carefully to what they say, accustomed as we are to bullet-point presentations, complete with graphics and the occasional test-tube of ‘evidence’, IOW dumbed-down speeches; but that needs to change if we are to get a good working grasp of the situation. Forget about the minute-to-minute, blow-by-blow reports from Twitter or other social media — they just obscure the big picture and really are only of interest to people who play video games, train-spotters, and fancy themselves analysts.
Number two, compare what they say to what — with the help of the best available information we can get our hands on — is happening on the ground.
A simple example: RF stated publically about three weeks ago that it was mounting a ‘special military operation’ with the aim of ‘demilitarisation’ and ‘de-Nazification’ of the Ukraine. It didn’t talk about ‘war’, ‘destruction’, ‘liberation’, or ‘conquest’ of the Ukraine. It didn’t talk about capturing all of the Ukraine’s major cities; not even Kiev, which a real invading army would aim for — capture of the enemy’s capital. Nope, all they said was just a special military operation with specific aims.
Talking of Kiev, spend some time watching livestreams of the place put up by CGTN or some other channel — a far cry from a city under ‘barbarous’ assault by an aggressive Russia; certainly not like Dresden, Tokyo or Falluja.
Live cam of Maidan square from four days ago (Greek channel):
https://youtu.be/RM5729WtG98
What is happening on the ground in the Ukraine? Well, for one thing, the Ukraine is getting demilitarised as we speak. RF MoD gives a running tally of Ukrainian military losses almost every day; not losses in personnel but numbers of military equipment destroyed — HQs, aircraft, missile launchers, depots, artillery, EW complexes, etc. For another, Nazis are getting annihilated, not just in the east but also in the west of the Ukraine.
Thus if we judge Russian ‘success’ in the Ukraine by comparing what it said it would do to what it is doing, we can only conclude that it is very successful.
Western narrative naturally turns RF’s stated aims on their head — thus we get stories of RF forces ‘running out of steam’, being bogged down, not being able to capture cities, having poor logistics and, the absolute gem, the ‘operation being badly planned.’ In fact an idiot from RUSI, no less, actually said in an interview that RF commanders essentially lied to their troops about it all being an exercise!
So, as a member — and a proud one, if I may add — of the Saker’s choir, may I suggest that readers do some homework and spend ‘quality’ time listening to/reading up on all the dry stuff coming out of the Kremlin, the MFA and RF MoD and get a sound idea of what RF is trying to achieve in the Ukraine and thus insulate themselves from all the crap and corruption coming out from the West’s commentators. And start on their journey to becoming a member of the Choir. At the very least that would afford Andrei some rest.
An excellent summation SE. From a slightly different perspective I find it interesting / useful to note that the Russian leader is a martial arts master with a background in street fighting. For comparison the French President is a mummies boy, the US president is a senile grifter with a drug addled crook of a son running his bag, the Australian Prime Minister is from marketing who is franticly flailing about trying to find an image the voters will connect with that does not involve him wearing a dick on his head, the British Prime Minister is a clown and the Canadia Prime Minister is the result of Castro cuckholding the former Canadian Prime Minister. When you list it like that is it any wonder the Western response is something of a shit show crossed with a cluster f..?
Saker, might I suggest you get hold of a copy of Spike Milligans “Rommel? Gunner Who?” and have a relaxing read, with whatever you drink well out of range. You need a really good belly laugh. Thanks for everything you do, you are responsible from the sanity of more of us than you will ever know.
Thank you, Stand Easy!
Very good comment!
From an old member of the Counter-Culture Choir ….
To join …. first, ask a question.
Follow it through. Research it. Think it through with logic and reason, not with what the propaganda tells you.
When you find lies, understand that they are lies. And ask if the liars are lying about this single question, then what else are they lying about?
In my day, it began with the huge stack of lies that was The Vietnam War. Once you realized that you’d been lied to about that, it became easy to find and question all of the other lies.
But, it begins with asking a single question. Once you spot the flaw in The Matrix that this reveals, then all will become clear like one of those 3D puzzles where you have to look into static to see the 3D picture hidden within.
Russia may have a way to avoid escalation to outright nuclear war:
https://t.me/asbmil/759
If Russia really does have a working indefinite-range nuclear-thrust cruise missile then they could have a few constantly circling European and US or even Australian airspace (sprinkling radioactivity in their wake) threatening to strike at any moment.
Very few seem to understand the implications of the Burevestnik cruise missile. It could circle the airspace of targeted nations for weeks. No Western leader would dare appear in public or at a prearranged event. What happens when Western voters see their leaders reduced to living in bunkers? Biden’s performance gives us some hints. It would make for an interesting upcoming Australian election campaign.
The indefinite-range cruise missile gives Russia indefinite escalation dominance, the ability to play mind games with the opponent without actually striking with a nuclear warhead.
Obrigado,The Saker, por tudo!!!
Thank you, The Saker, for everything!!!
Would be cool if you continued the christian vignettes even if you stopped the geopolitical analysis.

Well said, and I hope to read your analysis and reporting in the years to come. Don’t give up!
Yours is a wise decision to take a break and have some rest while you still can amidst all hell breaking loose. Sound battle attitude of winners and leaders alike.
I’ve been lurking here from way back when and I appreciate your informed take on things no matter what.
Bread and salt for you Andrei. Always welcome would you need a hideout but I’m located in the old EUSSR, lemmingcoutry so to speak, so that’s a rather bleak offer I admit. Over here I keep fighting to get debate alive on the russian/slav point of view but it is turning into a trench battle I must confess. The medium is the message as Marshall McLuhan would have had it I’m afraid. That being said you did your utmost, having been vocal about it all for so many years. No one can stop what is coming, according to the Q psyop. The great reset is grinding gears and coming into effect, one way or another. I pray the lord it will be different compared to what K.Schwab and his WEF minions have in mind. Stay put and prepare any way you can, is what I do. I’m a ‘urepeon’ but slav at heart I guess. чокнемся!
Assalamu Alekum dear brother Andrei,
if Nuclear war is about to take place then I think you should leave the USA for it will be destroyed. Maybe Mexico will be safe or Switzerland but I don’t know about Nuclear radiation. My guess is the nuclear war will be swift and quick…just a few weeks but what to do if you wake up in a post nuclear city? I think a safe spot will be somewhere in the mountains or farmland where water and food will be accessible. You can always use the internet anywhere for now but your safety is more important and my personal advice is for you to leave the USA if you heart and mind tells you that a nuclear war will take place and God knows best.
May Allah protect you and protect the Russia from the plots and deception of the Anglo Zionists.
Amen,
Jay
What about the Russian kontraktniki? Earlier this week Putin said something to the effect that he was sending them to Ukraine. Does anyone know how many kontraktniki will be assembled, and how they be used tactically in Ukraine?
I know that kontraktniki were used in large numbers in the 1999-2003 Chechen War. Allegedly they proved to be very tough and brutal troops. But I never heard how, tactically, the kontraktniki function in the war zone. Are they pressed into regular Russian army units, such as platoons and companies? Or do they function as irregulars who operate independently of the Russian army?
My thinking – just an idea – is that the Russian kontraktniki could operate by patrolling the sides of Ukrainian highways. These mercenaries could move around like search-and-destroy units, doing combat with UAF forces that are trying to ambush Russian army supply lines.
Any feedback on this subject from militarily informed people is appreciated.
This is a strange question/distinction and might be some sort of misunderstanding of terms. My understanding is there are 2 types of soldiers contractors and conscripts. There is no such thing as a distinction between “regulars” and “kontraktniki”. The term “kontraktniki” means a contract soldier, i.e. a regular. It’s a soldier who signed up on a contract and is a paid official full time member of the armed forces. A conscript is someone who is there only temporarily due to compulsory service between the ages of 18-27, which one has to serve 1 year I believe (with tons of exceptions, like if you are attending university, etc, etc).
It seems the way you are using the term ‘kontraktniki’ almost feels like a certain propaganda I’ve seen from some westerners who believe that conscripts were forced at the start of the Ukraine operation into sudden overnight ‘contracts’, thus officially turning them into “regulars” but perhaps then called a 3rd distinction of “kontraktniki” due to the fact that they’re not real regulars, not as trained etc. But this is b.s. propaganda with no shred of proof or evidence to it.
Putin said the entire military operation is being done by professional soldiers only. Whether you call them contract soldiers, regulars, etc., there is only one distinction of this sort that I’m aware of.
The thing you said about Chechnya sounds a little off because the alleged (from western perspective) ‘controversy’ surrounding Chechnya was that in fact Russia used a lot of CONSCRIPTS there, rather than contract soldiers.
Hope that helps clear it up. But if I misunderstood what it is you’re saying/asking let me know.
I get it. So does my son and husband.
The traditional Latin rite (sede-vacantist) people (around 20 members) get it.
But other than that… like David Nino Rodriguez says, https://www.bitchute.com/channel/D7jTmDC4y779/
“I say f-them.” I semi-agree.
Kerry Cassidy simply put it quite well, (I’m paraphrasing) ‘We’re a split Country. It’s not about the Russians nor the Ukraines. The Untied States is at war with itself and the White Hats don’t want it escalating into a civil war.’
Nonetheless, from what I can tell from podcasts, people are waking up.
Dr. Jim Willie exposes a lot https://rumble.com/vx1byt-livestream-jim-willie-ides-of-march-special-report-with-jean-claudebeyondmy.html Says all the executions are true. I tend to believe him.
God bless Putin. He’s cleaning up the Deep State. Taking their assets and whether the NPCs ‘get it or not’, the truth might set them free. Regardless, it’s up to them.
Dear Saker and readers,
Thank you to all for your commentary and support of the Saker, his work presents an excellent analysis of changes in this ever-growing conflict in Ukraine.
The time to ‘be prepared’ for the worst is now, let me help explain some trends.
IS NUCLEAR WAR LIKELY?
Yes, and I believe more so than the Cuban Missile Crisis. As a military veteran (Ex-Intelligence analyst), I’ve been watching and observing the geopolitics between the west and Russia for many years; and in this recent conflict, like the Saker and many others, daily and hourly watching these events unfold.
The risks of miscalculation or mistakes have never been higher due to the current conflict and political relations between the collective-west and the Russian Federation. Let alone any strategic planning for first strike events from both sides.
The likelihood is impossible to calculate to a percentage, and with the likes of Putin in power in Russia, the risks of a nuclear exchange are still low – he will likely try all other means first before resorting to a nuclear strike, major or minor on the EU or wider. But the unknown risk factor is how far the collective-west will go and noting how frenzied their actions have been, the escalations keep coming every 24-48hrs.
IF WW3 STARTS – NUCLEAR WAR IS HIGHLY PROBABLE
In the event of WW3, i.e., a declaration of war between Russia and the United States, or involvement of NATO against Russia – things will likely spiral out of control rapidly, therefor the time to prepare for a nuclear conflict could be as little as (hours) to (days) for you, your family and loved ones.
Be prepared to act-early by:
1) Monitoring the news, if a conflict breaks out, again we may only have hours, (days if we’re lucky) before Nuclear weapons are seriously “considered” by both sides.
2) Getting out of a mass populated area early, e.g. city or major township will be important, you don’t want to be stuck in traffic during a post-event evacuation. Initiating an un-planned vacation (excuse to your boss) early is better (playing it safe) than being one of millions struggling to find shelter and supplies post event if nuclear strikes begin.
3) Ensure you bring at least 1-week of supplies, food, water, meds, etc; minimal water survival needs for an adult is approximately 1L per day, in cool and stationary rest. Some extra fuel jerries would also be ideal so you don’t need to rely on gas/fuel stations to travel long distance in your vehicle.
4) Shelter is the most important, from blast radiation or from nuclear fallout carried by the weather across continents. No amount of supplies will save you if you get radiation effects at lethal levels. Keeping away from the radiation (fallout) threat is paramount, therefore consider cave systems, or anything that puts you underground, i.e. earth between you and the elements.
5) Once you’ve noted some safe locations to travel to, consider recon of this area to ensure it’s suitable. Importantly – Draw/print a map with easy directions, if satellite or phone receptions drops, you may not be able to rely on any devices to help you navigate, other than road signs, townships etc. Hence a physical map of directions is advisable and at least one recon trip to get use to the route.
SURVIVAL SKILLS
Download and print this: https://www.survival.ark.net.au/Nuclear-War-Survival-Skills.pdf
This covers nuclear facts and self-help lifesaving instructions during a nuclear war.
The original edition was published in 1979 by the U.S. Department of Energy.
WHAT NOW?
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst, that’s all I can add; if you’re prepared well enough, you have a high chance of survival even if the worst case (nuclear war) happens.
There are many myths about nuclear weapons, radiation etc, the book you can download above spells it all out, plus practical ways ensure your survival chances.
If you’ve read this far, thank you, you likely get the seriousness of this possibility, hence I don’t need to convince you this is something important to consider.
I hope like everyone else this conflict doesn’t spiral into WW3; I want this conflict to be resolved without nuclear weapons – that is still the most likely case, i.e. that we don’t reach a nuclear war, instead some other outcome is found and or negotiated – but I am note blind to the risks that in some days increase in chance due to escalations from the collective west, this is very worrying and something to keep an eye on as events unfold.
Stay safe and be prepared.
Bien vue Saker, nous au moins on a un DIEU, les mauvais eux leur dieu est satan,
satan aura raison le Jours “JD” de se distancer de ses adorateurs devant le SUPREME:
IBRAHIM / ABRAHAM / Sourate 14 / Verset 22 Quran

Well seen Saker, at least we have a GOD, the bad ones their god is satan,
satan will be right on the Day “JD” to distance himself from his worshippers before the SUPREME:
IBRAHIM / ABRAHAM / Sura 14 / Verse 22 Quran
“And when all is fulfilled, the devil will say, ‘Surely GOD had given you a promise of truth; whereas I gave you a promise which I did not keep. I had no authority over you except that I called you and you answered me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I am no help to you and you are no help to me. I deny you for having associated me with you in the past. Surely, a painful punishment awaits the unjust [associators].”
We Muslims have known the real enemies of the believers for 14 centuries and these satanic Jews will be the main cause of the Armageddon, they will be removed from our Earth and if we die we will die as martyrs of what they have done.
True Muslims and true Christians are allies in the face of this evil, the Koran has already decreed it:
THE SERVED TABLE / AL-MAIDAH / Surah 5 Verse 82 Quran
“You will certainly find that the Jews and the associators are the most bitter enemies of the believers. And surely you will find that the most willing to love the believers are those who say, ‘We are Christians.'” That is because there are priests and monks among them, and they are not puffed up with pride.”
Peace to you

Here are some articles on the impact of nuclear war. Even a “limited” nuclear war between say, India and Pakistan, is very ugly, including for those people far outside of the conflict zone who would face effects like mass famine.
A major war between the USA and Russia involving strategic nukes? That would likely end the human species.

“Self-preservation” instincts do not apply to transhumanists.
@ Saker
Again, you either “get it” or you don’t. It’s that simple, really.
Grateful for your efforts to give us a clean and broad perspective of varied factors in the battlefield.
Your intensity matches our intense times, and your panopticon view of the landscape is brutally realistic.
Wonder if the Pentagon has a team to study you, Martyanov, et al articles, books, and videos, and whether some of them “get it” but can’t do anything against the structure, or they don’t. No doubt you are on their sight, meaning, the alphabet soup intel sight, I wouldn’t be surprised if you are (have been for a while), under low to mid-level surveillance. Same with Martyanov, keep on looking for links with Russian intel, see how they can label all of you as “foreign agents,” so far, no luck.
Also, they don’t like to be called “stupid,” “dumb,” and many other fitting names you and Martyanov use regularly. And they like it even less to be told that Russia will hand them their assess again, as Martyanov says it happens “every hundred years or so.” Still, I have the suspicion they study you and others they consider Russian intelligentsia, e.g., Orlov, et al. They would be utterly stupid if they did not, it is an insight into the Russian mindset.
Back to the subject.
My attention was called to a post by Michael Hudson (/day-22-where-do-we-go-from-here-two-decisions/comment-page-2/#comment-1047443) in which he asserts there will not be an atomic war.

I don’t think there will be an atomic war, Andrei.
I DO think that the US expects — and will prod — Russia to bomb supply threats from Poland and Romania (at least). But the motive of this is not to escalate. It is to “gild the lily” on “reminding” Europe how dangerous Russia is to NATO members.
The US fight in Ukraine from the outset was just what Biden said: to stop Nord Stream 2, and to block the EU from increasing trade and investment with Russia. The fantasy was the this would weaken Russia, perhaps leading to regime change, and make it easier to take on China.
that was a crazy dream.
In 1950, when Stalin feared a US attack from Europe in the West, he urged Mao — who at first resisted — to support Kim in North Korea so as to distract U.S. forces. So China has a role to play here once again, I bet.
But the US isn’t going to send an army anywhere. That’s why I’m staying right here in New York.
From an economic perspective, Hudson’s view is that the goals of the Empire of Lies have been fulfilled, Germany is a secured vassal, NS2 was stopped, and there will be no “Lisbon to Vladivostok” trade arc, therefore, there is no reason for the EoL to pursue kinetic military action beyond, to use his expression, “gild the lily.” That reasoning assumes the EoL would be satisfied with canceling Russia at all other levels, isolate it as a pariah from the world, limiting their kinetic actions to provoke some controlled confrontations across borders with NATO, just to reiterate how dangerous Russia is, which justifies more weapons purchases, war is business, business is war.
In this context, however, even a “gild the lily” provocation can unleash a conventional war, which will instantly put the finger on the nuclear trigger in all involved (strike first, said Putin.) That doesn’t mean Hudson’s view is equivocated, my POV is that the confrontation Russia/EoL can very well develop on a two-track vector, balanced between the Saker’s urgent assessment of danger, and Hudson’s perspective the EoL already got what they wanted, will now play a conservative hand with lots of noise.
The potential for an escalation will be present all along, however. Russia will have to distinguish between the provocations and the real threats. The message delivered by a few Kalibr missiles to Yavoriv was loud and clear, Russia will accept no challenges within its sphere of dominance, which expands to all of Ukraine.
Final thought: the Saker has lost all confidence on the EoL ability to reason. I believe he is absolutely correct in that assertion, totally based on historical facts.
From there, all you can see the is an unfathomable abyss…
Lone Wolf
PS: Hudson mentions the China card based on previous history, how Stalin urged Mao to support Kim against McArthur’s invasion. My version of those events is different, it was Mao who asked Stalin for help in fighting the US invasion of N.K., out of fear the Yalu river would become China’s new border with a US-controlled Korea. Stalin was reluctant, his strategy was focused on confronting the looming danger coming from the West, so much so he delayed providing air support to China’s “volunteer troops” in North Korea, which cost China tens of thousands of lives and lost of materiel from the US carpet bombing.
Whether China would be willing to play its hand against the EoL, is yet to be seen. I assume China will play a waiting game, will be in constant consultation with Russia, and if they evaluate China can open the Taiwan front, the possibilities for a nuclear confrontation will increase exponentially.
From a liberated area of Ukraine:
Death by Zelensky
In the photo, about 1/3 of the Tochka-U ballistic missile, which, even when shot down, killed three residents of Melitopol.
One of them, an 18-year-old guy, was buried today.
If it had not been shot down, the number of victims would have been in the hundreds.
The second photo shows the consequences of the arrival of the cluster part of the downed missile. People have lost almost everything they had.
Thank God and Russian air defense, more than 40 Tochka-U missiles fired at peaceful Melitopol by Zelensky’s terrorists (https://t.me/vrogov/2060) were shot down or deviated from the course.
And today, the launchers of the Ukrainian Nazis were destroyed by the impact of two Iskander missiles (https://t.me/vrogov/2067).
The events of the last month have shown that not only ideological Nazis should not be taken prisoner, but also the crews of the Tochka-U missile systems, who are well aware that they are committing (https://t.me/vrogov/2060) war crimes against civilians.
The moratorium on the death penalty must be lifted!
It’s time to put an end to the Nazi project “U”!
Volodymyr Rogov (https://t.me/vrogov/), member of the Main Council of the CAA of the Zaporozhye region
@ Uncle Bob
Thanks, Uncle Bob.
I understand casualties would be higher if the Tochka-U were not shot down before causing greater damage, as it happened in Donetsk. Even then, 20 + innocent people lost their lives, and dozens were wounded. My rage is, why is that Russia/LDNR, cannot target the source, instead of waiting for them to rain down and shoot them? How can the nazi scum hide their positions even now, when Russia has dominance in large sectors of what was the nazi territory? It boggles my mind.

A bit of historical perspective will answer your question: https://warisboring.com/what-the-great-scud-hunt-tells-about-a-war-with-north-korea/
Summary: The U.S. and coalition spent MONTHS trying to hunt down a completely technologically inferior country’s, technologically inferior erector-launched missiles, and they simply couldn’t do it. The event was known as “the great scud hunt”. And keep in mind all this was done while the U.S. had complete air superiority and freedom to fly anywhere they want.
In Ukraine on the other hand it’s literally impossible to have “full air superiority” for one, due to the fact that anti-air systems are streaming in literally daily and everytime you kill them all, more just come in from “western friends”. So it’s an endlessly refilling bucket. Then add the fact that Ukraine’s terrain is far more difficult to find the things in, because the “open desert” of Iraq made it much simpler to find things out in the open, whereas in Ukraine they’re hidden in trees and thickets, etc. Secondly the Tochka-U can be fired and moved much faster and Russian airforce can’t operate as freely in the exact center of the Donbas cauldron where the absolute highest concentration of elite Ukie troops of their entire armed forces are, due to the fact as mentioned above, that it’s impossible to fully take out their neverending supply of anti-air capabilities / Stingers etc.
Incidentally here’s a Ukrainian Tochka-U launch from earlier today caught on film https://youtu.be/bKZB4li0sZE
@ Nightvision
Yup, I just saw that in Telegram, where you can read the conversation you hear in the YouTube video. They are sending a message to the “separas” and calculating how many can be killed in the area to be hit, about 1-2 acres. Guess is the same game Hamas play with the Israelis back in Palestine. I understand, that does not mean is less frustrating.
Lone Wolf
Hope the guys who didnt get paid for those weapons know they lost their investments.
@ Nightvision
Yep and a huge media black out of the event. In fact the one or two tiny attempts at a ‘report’ I’ve seen from any western source, they allegedly interviewed a women who claimed that she was “bussed in” with other people from somewhere else and wasn’t even told where she was going, i.e. in support of the narrative that the only reason the crowd was so large was because Putin just bussed thousands of people into the stadium from all over and paid them off. Complete joke
Thanks for that note. I was surprised after not checking the blog all day, nothing had been posted on such an important event, which is taking place against the background of Russia’s special operation right across the border. The attendance was an implicit support for Putin/Russia, for the extirpation of the nazi cancer in 404, a looming danger for Crimea, and a gesture of gratefulness and big relief they were saved right on time from the ongoing suffering of their compatriots in Donbass. They could have been in the same predicament, had Putin not mobilized the “green man” to take over Crimea.
Lone Wolf
Yep. And separately I heard today (no confirmation yet) that a new poll now shows Putin’s approval skyrocketing even higher, to 80%. As a quick reminder to people. Putin’s approval was always historically in the 70-90% range but in recent times for the first time it started to sag slightly due to the controversies in the past couple years about Russia’s pension problems and other economic problems, exacerbated of course by 5th/6th column support and western propaganda/psyops. And so right before the Ukraine incursion, his approval sat at about 61% which is still the highest of any western leader I know of, since most western leaders approvals are typically even lower than 50%. For comparisons sake, we know Biden is somewhere in the high 30%’s and Macron of France as an example last I checked had like a 26% approval rating, and Boris Johnson is at 35%. Western leaders on average are absolutely reviled by their populace. Now after the Ukraine incursion, in a wave of national patriotism, Putin’s approval skyrocketed to first 70% then 75% and now I heard a report today it is 80%.
The “West” truly doesn’t know how unified Russia is, and Putin said it best in his speech at the stadium when he said “We haven’t been this unified in a long time” (or something to that effect).
Russia needs to denazify Europe and North America too.
Otherwise the problem is merely shifted one more generation.
Andrei I understand where you are coming from.
Not being of Slavic descent, I have less desirable options to consider. Regardless, I hope you and your family find a safe place.
We are facing… well, I do not know how to express what we are facing. It is beyond mere words.
God be with you.

I pray that your bleak assessment is wrong. I pray that my fears are unwarranted, but I have little faith in those who purport to be the government of the USA together with the uni-party and oligarchy that they represent. Delusion and hubris are not a winning combination.
These days pro-Russian points of view and those receptive to them seem to be coming from unvaxxed and anti-mandate deplorables. Perhaps it was unwise, from a consensus building stand point, to dismiss, ridicule, vilify and ban them?
My goodness, what a lot of posts in such a short space of time!
The Saker refers to the “Hate War” against Russia, but probably needs to get some context.
The Western world is an Empire of psychos and vassals, and it is not a regime that permits free speech. All mainstream media is owned lock, stock & barrel by the Globalists.
The “hate” is coming from the regime, not the people. The hordes of Westerners with the vestigial capacity to think, don’t hate Russia, they quietly support her (like captives barracking for their ideological hero).
Even in Australia – demonstrably the most despotic of all Western nations – the rabble won’t be silenced.

“Next, I don’t see any other way to stop the US+UK+PL to intervene other than by means of a Iskander/Kalibr strike not “just” upon any target in the Ukraine, but also strikes on whatever NATO facility is central to the current war preparations by NATO, including locations in Poland , Romania or anywhere else in Europe.”
I say let them make their “preparations”. As we all know, the US and NATO do not have the capability to defeat Russia on a conventional battlefield.
Why should Russia telegraph its intentions by bombing a “preparation” site? The US and NATO military officers already know what an Iskander, a Kaliber, etc. can do. What would be the point of a “demo”? Russia doesn’t do “demos” – with the possible exception of those Kalibers from a Russian corvette in the Black Sea against Syria in 2015, which surprised the West considerably according to all accounts. Russia does demolitions, not demos.
This is not to say that Russia should allow a “first strike”. As Putin has said, “when an enemy is going to attack you, strike first.” But it’s not hard to determine when that first strike is coming. And right now, the US and NATO are FAR, FAR away from having that capability in conventional terms.
The US would have to bring something around 500,000 forces to Europe to be a serious threat. And not just scattered all over Europe, but on the actual border with Russia. The US is far from that and it will take months, if not a year, to produce a serious threat. Clearly Russia will not allow such a buildup on its border like Saddam Hussein did.
“I hope that I am wrong and that the US+UK+PL are not as terminally blinded by their hatred of Russia as to risk an actual full scale war in Europe.”
It is not the politicians we have to worry about. The question devolves to whether the Pentagon and their NATO equivalents can restrain those politicians from doing something stupid. The Pentagon has made efforts to squash the no-fly zone concept. The only question is whether they can keep Washington and Brussels in line.
“this will not only prove that the Saker blog failed in its main mission (avoid war)”
Frankly, as I mentioned in an earlier thread, you never had a chance at doing that. The best you could hope for is to educate a certain number of people about the issues involved. Without access to the MSM media and direct access to the corridors of power, there was never a chance that you could affect the outcome of these events.
“I also think that the Russians knew in advance what kind of sanctions the West would introduce sooner or later, but I think that the Kremlin was taken by surprise at the speed and scope of the sanctions.”
As Mercouris says, it was the sanctions on the Russian Central Bank that were surprising, as no sanctions had even been taken against a G20 economy central bank before, only on small banks like Iran and Venezuela.
“However, I think that most people in Russia are stunned by what is a full-scale “hate war” on Russia which we can call the “Cancel Russia war“.”
Probably true. However, once Russia solves the Ukraine problem, and the West is forced to deal with the economic blowback of their sanctions, I think the intensity of the media onslought will lesson. Americans don’t deal well with foreign policy issues, as opposed to economic and social issues. This is why Americans are easily lied to about events such these.
“Now I think that it is time for all of us, myself included, to let go of the thought “no, they can’t possibly by THAT delusional” and assume that yes, they are really THAT delusional.”
Again, the question isn’t whether they are that delusional – it’s obvious they are. The question is whether those with power who are not suicidaly delusional can restrain those who are.
“But there is a big difference here: Japan could not meaningfully strike at the continental USA. Russia very much can, with both nuclear and conventional weapons.”
Exactly. There are still people in the Pentagon, as Martyanov repeatedly says, who understand that.
“…if the Russian come to the conclusion that the US is engaged in a “Desert Shield” type of operation (claim to be only defensive while preparing for months for a fullscale ground invasion) then you can be sure that Russia will strike EU airports, seaports or any other facility used to prepare an attack on Russia.”
Exactly. But so far the US and NATO don’t have the capability to do so with any of the forces they either have in place or have announced as placing. And there any many moves Russia could take before the necessity of initiating the war themselves. In fact, the Ukraine operation is the first of those steps.
“The future of our planet now depends on whether the traditional western hatred for all things Russian is bigger or smaller than the self-preservation instincts of US ruling class (the Eurolemmings are hopeless).”
Correct. Too soon to call it one way or the other.
“The future of our planet now depends on whether the traditional western hatred for all things Russian is bigger or smaller than the self-preservation instincts of US ruling class.
Only time will tell. All we can do now is pray and place our trust and lives into God’s hands.”
At this point in time this is pretty much how I feel too. I’ve commented in other places on the internet attempting to shake friends and acquaintances out of their stupor. I’m done. The US hubris is over the top now. The US threatens Modi, Egdagon, and a host of smaller countries, and now arrogantly Xi. There is a background of never-ending threats.
Really – who is the real “aggressor.” That is a rhetorical question as the answer is obvious. I’ve come to the conclusion that the US has a Samson complex. And in the end if the US doesn’t get it’s way? It will bring the entire world down on its own head.
So now. Put faith in God, find solace without ourselves, and watch – and pray.
But the entire world is a perception, the reality is only the Americans and those whom are forced under the umbrella are going to get the king of all head aches, and from what we can determine, they deserve it.
Gen Milley backchannelled China from professed fear of Trump and nuclear weapons and I have no doubt Pentagon has no wish to engage Russia and sees Regime in DC as threat to lifestyle and maybe loss of US strutting influence
US will throw UK under a bus
France and Germany and Italy main Treaty of Rome EEC founders want security in Europe not Us-UK games and will ditch EU satrapies in East that are used by US and UK to control EU
I am troubled by news about Russia offering a corridor for nazis out of Mariupol.
Uncle Bob above states,
The events of the last month have shown that not only ideological Nazis should not be taken prisoner, but also the crews of the Tochka-U missile systems, who are well aware that they are committing (https://t.me/vrogov/2060) war crimes against civilians.
I agree with him, in principle, however, Sun Tzu’s Art of War Chapter 7 counsels,
When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard.
Such is the art of warfare.
This issue has several components, moral, related to the using of civilians as human shields; justice, nazis need to be punished, i.e., shot on the spot; military, this scum have proven to be tough cookies, can leave to go reorganizing in Poland and come back to fight a guerrilla war against Russia.
But here it is.
https://tass.ru/armiya-i-opk/14120041
The Russian Armed Forces announced their readiness to open corridors from Mariupol for nationalists
However, Kiev refuses the offer, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
MOSCOW, March 18. /tass/. The Russian Armed Forces are ready to open the corridors and release the nationalists from Mariupol, guaranteeing the lives of those who have laid down their weapons, but Kiev refuses the offer. This was announced by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.
“We officially appealed to the Kiev authorities and two days ago informed them that we are ready to open humanitarian corridors and release all your bandits in any direction in order to save the city and people from these so-called martyrs, who have already made themselves famous by blowing up a kindergarten, two schools, a maternity hospital and a drama theater building,” Mizintsev said.
“At the same time, we guarantee the lives of nationalists who laid down their weapons, and provide a humanitarian corridor for their exit to the territories controlled by Kiev. In response, we received a categorical refusal, at the same time from high officials of official Kiev,” he stressed.
According to him, ” the next steps of the desperate bandits who have lost their minds and understand their complete hopelessness can only be guessed, while horrifying pictures of the possible consequences of these actions are emerging…”

At the end of the day, no matter the outcome, you will have NEVER failed any of us, the larger world outside or yourself Andrei. Don’t ever forget that my friend!! I think I speak for all of us in stating that you have our profound gratitude and respect for all you do to a. keep us informed of critical military and political developments and b. try your best to help avoid a disastrous war between the “west” and Russia. I’m not religious but I am a believer in something greater than life on Earth and I pray that its vast visual array that spans the universe is currently focused here on us favoring our continued existence.
Dear Andrei,
Thanks for all your valuable work.
I see no point to trying to make a handful of punitive conventional strikes at any NATO installations or cities. Why take an action if all it is going to do is get you vaporized in return? If your attack is detected, and the only safe assumption is that it will be, the other side can’t wait to see if you fired at them with 2000 kilos of HE or 200KT of fission/fusion/fission. They’ll counterstrike on warning. There’s really no point to starting any of that -because it’s assured suicide not to mention mass murder- unless you have some highly reliable, indeed foolproof means of dealing with the third leg of the nuclear triad. i.e. submarines, first. (It’s probably suicide even if you can) And that means knowing where they ALL are. Which of course dictates that that “striking first when the fight is unavoidable” is gonna have to be an utterly crushing worldwide blow, or otherwise why bother.
The crackpot West is now more dangerous and duplicitous than ever seeing that their planned annihilation of Donbas got short-circuited by a matter of days if not hours. So I strongly advise disregarding all protestations from Little Red Lying Hood Jen Psaki, or any of the other Empire mouthpieces that they aren’t interested in World War III. They’re interested in it all right, or we wouldn’t be where we find ourselves.
Dear Saker,
I think you are absolutely right and you must take care of yourself.
I too believe war is imminent, if not occurring by stealth already, in so far as the preparations go.
I disagree about sanctions being the only way to force a decoupling. There are many other ways that stop short of punishing innocent people, but that is now water under the bridge.
I also believe that Putin did not know the scale and depth of the Western ruling class’s corruption. Empire of Lies does not even get to the half of it.
It is an Empire of Slander, Spying, Brainwashing,Torture, Filth, Humiliation, Degradation, Abasement, and Depravity on an industrial scale. I do not mean that people living in these countries are agents of this evil. I am talking solely about the apparatus of the super state, the intelligence agencies, the ruling classes, especially the media and infotainment/academic/think-tank industrial complex which disseminates this poison. The people in these countries, like those in target countries, and indeed ordinary people everywhere, are being poisoned en masse, morally and physically.
“if a fight is inevitable you should strike first“ “(…) Russia will strike EU airports, seaports.”
So I have a theory on why Holland’s Sea Defences would make a likely target (‘coZ Holland’s seaports and airports, (among) the biggest in Europe, would flood without them, so will the homes of 7 million people)
So the world’s former biggest sea port is Rotterdam, Holland, currently #7, still the biggest outside of Asia, especially in terms of tons of cargo/bulk (with Amsterdam being #4 in Europe)
Airports; Amsterdam Schiphol, #3 in Europe + a smaller airport in Rotterdam.
These “mainports” are situated at sea level or below; so is the Randstad metropolitan area of 7 million people.
I wonder how many hypersonic missiles would be required to destroy Hollands water works which would cancel our economy. not just ours; Rotterdam is an indispensable hub for Europe, especially for the {west and southwest of Germany, along the river Rhine and subsidiaries, upstream from Rotterdam} which happens to be where US bases and nukes airfields are located
(google for pics > 1 [IJmuiden Zeesluis Gemaal Ijmuiden] 2 Maeslantkering 3 [Hollandse IJselkering] 4 Haringvlietdam 5 Afsluitdijk (this and hundreds upon hundreds of kilometers of Sea Dykes, River Dykes, older secundary inland dykes is how we make sure we dont get our feet wet in Holland
So these “Gemalen” are huge Pumping Stations to pump out all excess water from precipitation whereas Sea water works keep the North Sea out.
So this is one of the weakest links of the NATO/EU by far.
Note that Holland is basically a big island (the part north from Nieuwe Waterweg, south of North Sea Canal and only these half a dozen water works protect it from the worst high waters) and if these outer defenses are down, the rest of it would easily flood during the storm seazon. This happened once before in 1953; a dike was breached, some barge miraculously filled the gap, or all of holland wouldve been flooded in weeks or months maybe forever.
Netherland doesnt have any nukes of its own. the USempire has nukes located in Volkel airfield in the east of Brabant province, but I dont think The Hague controls those. So this wouldnt be as risky compared to directly attacking a nuclear power like UK/France or US bases in Germany. (Also, Holland isnt as big a trading partner as Germany is to Russia) Civilian casualties from the impact would be low so it wouldnt be a PR nightmare for Russia. moreover, the rest of the world thinks we’re crazy to build a country below sea level so ppl may shrug and think it’s inevitable anyway with sea lvl rise. epic fail by the Dutch to pick a fight with Poseidon and the bear.
Since no nukes are required (Im not sure, Im not an expert on the hypersonic missiles’potential payload) this is a few steps lower on the escalation ladder.
Historic floods have always happened during the storm seaZon which is in autumn and winter, so almost over now. If these water works would be destroyed now, the EU would need to pull together to make sure they’re up and running in 6 months. Holland would be forced to leave NATO and declare neutrality like we had been during ww1 and until ww2.
Note that I just wish for our puppet government to quit shipping armaments to Ukraine. But I heard last week that our government quit disclosing info about that. The dude who shared the info (Willem Engel) should’ve been in parliament since last year’s elections (but his new party was thoroughly sabotaged, so was the voting process) but he was put in prison just 3 days ago (also regarding covid scepsis). Another political prisoner
ps the Germans pulled this trick (destroying a dyke, flooding a polder) while the US army couldnt be bothered to liberate holland, prioritising beating the russian army to the Elbe. market garden meant conquest of territory for capitalism, at our expense.
Looking good!:

Andrei, some thoughts for you:
1) Remember, “All I know is I don’t know.”
2) Take all of this “One Day at a Time” (or whatever shorter interval you need to maintain your health and sanity).
3) You are NOT alone! :)
„Get it“ or „not get it“.
Some people want to know, some want just to believe,
Even for those who want to know (including me) the information in the West is so compact, total and one-sided, so that it is easy to doubt even the information here, Moonoffalabama etcetc.
However I don‘t know what you have to deal with in your mailbox. There certainly are aggressively informationrepellent people out there.
I’m a happy choir member, Andrei. Please stay safe! I prayed for the people of Ukraine and Russia this morning and I’m going to add a mention of you, specifically. Like others here, I’m wondering if it would be better for you to get outta Dodge.
I think there is a way out of this disaster scenario. China will retake Taiwan in the very very near future and thereby force the USA – and only the USA and not Europe – to turn away from the Ukraine and decide what to do in the face of a fait accompli in Taiwan. The USA simply cannot fight on two fronts and it is highly doubtful whether it can even fight on one front. This might even be a co-ordinated strategy between Russia and China.
And certainly for the USA the loss of Taiwan is far more devastating in geo-strategic terms than the loss of the Ukraine.
I do not think we have to lose faith. I have no doubt that this present war and the overall confrontation between the West and Russia-China is a stand-off between Satan and the Good/God. And because of the basic structure of Reality and its relational character, the Good/God will prevail.
My dearest Saker. You have been and are a beacon of light, sanity and intelligence for all of us. We all pray for you and your family and I am positive that this debacle will be be brought to a conclusion without all of us going up in flames. Nuclear arms will not be used. Hypersonic maybe. But not nuclear.
By the way, as an addendum. I believe that Israel has been rendered completely and irretrievably impotent and irrelevant and as a Jewish state, has passed its “sell by” date.
My personal objective Sitrep for tonight with a few updates:
-Most of the current positive activity occurs in the sectors of Lugansk/Severodonetsk theatre, Mariupol theatre,North Mariupol / South Donetsk, and south Kharkiv / Izyum axis. I’ll address each briefly then comment on the other semi-‘frozen’ fronts.
-Lugansk. This has turned into one of the most important fronts due to the heavy progress that’s being made here. Yesterday forces captured Rubezhnoe just north of Severodonetsk, and now today we have word the storming of Severodonetsk is purportedly already happening, though slowly. Reports that Met’olkine district in eastern Severodonetsk is being cleared by LNR forces. Needless to say this is a large (100k+ population) and important city that would be the 3rd/4th largest to fall once it’s taken, after Kherson, Melitopol, and Berdiansk which has similar population. This will then free up lots of forces and put heavy pressure on the ‘Great Cauldron’ from the east.
Map: https://twitter.com/nukesn_missiles/status/1504944236545851395
https://twitter.com/spriter99880/status/1504984599629377541
-Also Popasnaya further south of Severodonetsk is half captured by LNR forces. Ukrop troops remain in western part of the town but are quickly being cleansed and this too will soon be liberated.
-Kharkiv area: Izeum has confirmed to finally have FULLY fallen, as for a while, the south part of the town was still held by Ukrop forces but now it seems RF controls the entire city.
“#KHARKOV-#IZYUM—#Russia|n forces bypassed the cauldroned remnants of the #Ukraine|ian 81st Airmobile Brigade in south Izyum, moving the offensive south to #Gusarovka, to the southeast of #Barvenkovo. Fighting continued in the former. No confirmation of taking the latter.”
I have to link the map like this rather than twitter because this account is being “restricted” and links are not working unless you are signed in to a twitter account: https://i.postimg.cc/SxbgTJGn/FOLnv7x-WQAc9-Ti.png
“Izyum-Slavyansk highway has been cut, removing one of last supply lines to pre-cauldroned #Ukraine|ian forces in the #Slavyansk-#Kramatorsk sector.”
Furthermore, there were reports and video of RF troops entering Chuhuiv / Chuguiv way northwest of Izyum (right outside of Kharkiv, southeast). But I don’t know yet if it’s been fully captured or not, though some are reporting that it’s been capped. https://twitter.com/Suriyakmaps/status/1504498001213116423
– Near Donetsk, RF forces captured Ugledar and Prechistovka, slowly working their way to soon assaulting the key town of Velyka Novosilka. Purportedly RF troops have already struck out north towards Bohoyavlenka towards Kurakhove direction to full bring up the front line with Donetsk city and begin closing the cauldron.
-In Mariupol both sides advanced further from west and east and struck deeper towards the center. On monday I said I’d give it a week to fall, which would give my prediction about 2-3 days remaining. It’s possible but I could see it taking another whole week simply due to the fact that Azov continues to hole themselves up. But the progress here is going quite fast. If you’ve followed things like the Battle of Aleppo back in the day, you know it can take months to cleanse a city. But our forces control more than 50% of it at this point if not more. As you can see the city is sort of being split into several independent pockets. Latest news is that Azov battalion has holed up in the giant Azovstal factory (at one time largest in the world as I understand, a huge complex) and was said to be making their “final stand” there. Large RF airstrikes have already hit the factory but there’s no confirmation of how many of them are actually there versus other pockets of the city. https://twitter.com/lostarmour/status/1504841889186463766
One report says:
“#MARIUPOL—150-200 of #Ukraine|ian #Azov neo-#Nazi #NationalGuard troops, split into groups of 10-15, deserted overnight. 93 of them were eliminated by #Russia|n forces. Military sources on the scene indicate 4-7 days for the liberation of the city. (VIDEO: Mariupol evacs) 7/36”

And Nazi Azov battalion posts a video that can only be described as them truly gloating in their own image of evilness. Taking entire families hostage while playing the “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” theme on the piano, while they use the civilians as human shields in Mariupol. A truly bizarre and despicable sight https://twitter.com/MaajidNawaz/status/1504835797966540800
-Now a brief note on the other 2 axes of importance — Kherson/Nikolayev and Kiev. Some “analysts” have opined that Russia’s advance has “stalled” there, and even gone as far as to say Russia is losing battle initiative and in fact Ukraine is even gaining initiative for the first time as we have seen an alleged “counter attack” by Ukraine in Nikolayev region. It’s no secret that Russia is a tad overstretched there. But one problem that most armchair ‘analysts’ don’t understand is that not every single strategic objective in a large scale military operation of this nature is about incessant “advances” and captures and progress. In fact what we are seeing here is a strategic hold, a “pinning action.” Russian forces in Nikolayev/Kherson and in Kiev are simply in a holding pattern, pinning down Ukrop reserves from coming to relieve the trapped cauldron in Donbass. RF forces don’t have to be “advancing” or “progressing” for now in these other two regions. What they have done is an extremely important strategic capture, they are holding large amounts of Ukrop forces pinned in these regions, allowing our guys to finish off Mariupol and the Donbas area. Similarly, the flotilla outside Odessa is in fact holding a large amount of Ukrop reserves frozen in place there as well. Because they continue to fear the phantom “beach landing” that they keep saying will happen soon. And Russian ships there continue scaring them into defensive postures so that the Odessa reserves don’t go anywhere else to relieve forces elsewhere in the country. So in short, don’t worry so much about what’s happening in Nikolayev and Kiev, the forces there are doing the exact job they’re supposed to be doing, pinning down massive reserves. Because the Ukrop reserves there know if they leave for a second to try and relieve the Donbas cauldron, then Kiev will be quickly snatched right from under their nose. So they’re forced to sit and get slowly attritioned by superior Russian air strikes / artillery which hits their weak points nightly and continues to degrade their supplies.
-Also one last thing to mention about Nikolayev in particular. Many people correctly predicted that Russia was baiting Ukrop forces with a strategic withdrawal in order to make them over confident. It worked. Russia withdrew slightly towards Kherson and Ukrops began licking their lips and concentrated a massing of their troops. And the rest was history: over 300-500 casualties (counting both dead and injured) after Russian missiles rained down on their barracks today in Nikolayev. https://southfront.org/photos-18-russian-kalibr-missile-hit-ukrainian-military-facility-in-mykolaiv-dozens-of-casualties-reported/
I do not think the Anglo Zionazi Capitalist Empire will go to real war with Russia over Ukraine — any more than it went to real war with Russia over Syria. Even though both sides could field a strategic “Samson Option” with maxi nukes, or a tactical “David Option” with mini nukes and nano nukes.
Putin is finally doing in Ukraine what some readers of Syrian Perspective online were discussing around 2014, when the AZC took over Ukraine to punish Russia for defending Syria against NATZO’s genocidal ISIS headchoppers and liver eaters. Even at that early stage it was obvious that the natural solution to a synthetic entity named “Ukraine” would be for Russia to retake the Russian Ukraina up to Kiev, and leave Poland, Hungary and Austria to retake Austro-Hungarian Galitzia; which is what Putin has finally given the go-ahead for, and Russia is in process of achieving.
As for WW3 my opinion around 2010 (when the AZC invaded Syria) was that the AZC intended to start WW3 against economic competitor China, and was preparing to launch it in 2033 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their darling Nazis taking over the Reichstag. However two great developments events since 2010 have changed my opinion:
1. China is no longer a weak military power; it is a strong military power in alliance with two other strong military powers — Russia and Iran. The AZC do not fight their peers, let alone their superiors.
2. The attack dogs of the AZC (namely U$A, UK and the EU) are no longer eligible for a Real War Loan: their credit cards at the WEF are already maxed out. Consequently, the WEF is more interested in taking over China from the inside, by infiltrating her banking system. Same applies to Russia via Russia’s notorious Central Bank “Fifth Column”.
I think the Saker can take a well deserved rest and, sometime later when the fog of war has cleared, he can achieve his ambition like Chechov’s Vavya: “I would tramp and tramp to Kiev, to Moscow, to hear the holy bells. Wouldn’t that be splendid?”
Well, it is closer than you think. From South Front:
“NATO will strengthen its military contingent in Eastern Europe. One hundred thousand soldiers of the US army plus another forty thousand soldiers from the member countries of the Alliance will be deployed in Europe, mostly in the eastern air close to the crisis area between Ukraine and Russia. The go-ahead for the deployment of the contingent will be given on March 24 in Brussels at the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Europe and NATO. The two summits are expected to be attended by the US president, Joe Biden.
It will not be a temporary measure. The secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, made it clear during a press conference: We are reinforcing our collective defense. Hundreds of thousands of troops on heightened alert. One hundred thousand US troops in Europe. And 40,000 troops under direct NATO command, mostly in the eastern part of our Alliance, supported by naval and air forces. we will also not only address the immediate consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but we will also address the more long term consequences, the long term adaptation of our Alliance “.
all collected together in big bases and concentrated near eastern edges .. easy targets .Just like that merc base.
And paid for all on the backs of the willing, fleeced, strong American taxpayers.
Gas to the moon and lets party like a politician.
Dean, can they afford it. Every soldier in the bush requires ten in the nest. So to support 100k soldiers requires 1mil in support staff. If the 100k is the total, then only 10k are combat ready. Give it a week or two, the cooks will get an AK and a full mag…and a shovel.
Cheers M
“NATO’s Jens Stoltenberg, made it clear…One hundred thousand US troops in Europe.”
NATZO’s purpose is to keep the Yanks in, the Russians out and Europe down.

Losing the arguments to say the least it drains the energy. Leaving the USA 10 years ago to a colony of it was much Worse. This is what I have to deal with. Sample, Nasrallah is an agent of Israel. Iran, America, Syria and saudis conspired to kill sunnies and to attack turkey. Ukraine is a ploy for a surprise attack on turkey. Then I realized why the Americans have to celebrate Thanksgiving, with turkey its main course. You have to learn philosophy it comes naturally under these circumstances. The best one, if Saddam was still alive non of this would happen to us (the Arabs).

The Kyiv regime is doing its best to buy up anything and everything in order to increase the reach of the disinformation they spread. I’ve been trying for several days to find at least some figures for expenses for this article, but on YouTube they are bought without restrictions in targeting, on Instagram they buy bloggers, on Twitter, VK and Telegram they buy all the publics that are on the market. The most interesting thing is that I decided to check 10 random publics that banderlogs recently bought, where it turned out that they even buy groups where cats and dogs were posted before. As a rule, for promotion, they already have their own inflated network of channels that advertise each other, and the first posts are some kind of tin or dismemberment, taken from 2014.

I’m far from being an expert but a thorough reader of this blog. Thank you, Saker, for sharing your expertise!
Here my 2 cents:
Maybe the western psyop infowar is so intense and overall present, that overestimate its effect on “normal people”, and the same time underestimate its effect on us, because another purpose of the propaganda by the system is to unsettle us – the opponents.
In my personal environment, I see many people – friends, working colleagues – with total mistrust of what they see in the mainstream media, *especially* when it comes to the Ukraine thing. But in lack of true information, they remain completely unsecure and are eager for real information. If you talk to these people like “Did you know that the Russian Black Sea Fleet is stationed in Sevastopol and Russia couldn’t just let crimea go in 2014?” they get very contemplative, because they never heard about such things. Happened to me more than once.
And a little side note, although it might not please the Saker so much: 90 percent of those who already didn’t believe in the Covid-19 narrative totally don’t fall for the anti Russia psyop propaganda, since they have no trust left in mass media at all. This is definitely the case in Switzerland (my origin), and I guess it’s the same in Germany and probably in countries like Canada too; at least that’s my conclusion when I read these Telegram channels run by the truckers, where you can read A LOT of NATO critical and even Russia friendly posts, considering they are all OT in these forums. These people are not a “fringe minority” at all, and all over the world (I’m far from trying to open a “Covid discussion” here; just trying to illustrate the proportions. My point: Russia has many friends, even in the countries of NATOstan, but our voices are aggressively kept silent by the lies of the roaring propaganda.)
But here’s what I really wanted to ask:
Saker (and my question goes to everyone else, of course): You’re not very optimistic when it comes to WWIII and the whole thing getting nuclear. Your point: If a fight is inevitable, Putin would strike first (again). Seems comprehensible to be so far, but – Russia is not alone! What about the following scenario – and sorry if my thoughts are naive to those who understand more about military and strategy than I do:
If Russia/China have certain evidence from intelligence that the U.S. are about to start a “Desert Shield type of operation”: What if in that case China took Taiwan over night. Wouldn’t that change the whole dynamic of everything? (I’m aware that NATOstan is run by total nutcases who might not hesitate to risk a war on the Russia AND the China front, but still…)
After Putin’s address in which he identified the 5th column in Russia, he then goes and appoints the arch-enemy – Elvira Nabiullina the now reappointed head of the Russian Central Bank to her former position. Atlantic Integrationist par excellence. For all the fighting talk the enemy within are still in situ and working for the other side. Get this:
“Ms. Nabiullina’s reappointment solidifies her role as one of Russia’s top economic generals, tasked with keeping the country’s financial system functioning and commerce flowing while fighting rages in Ukraine. Her current term is due to end in June. She is expected to speak later Friday.
“’The president has repeatedly praised the results of the work of Nabiullina and the central bank as a whole. And we see how logical it was to introduce her candidacy for another term,’ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.”
Words fail me!
Since the (economic) situation has changed so much, she will surely have to adjust doing things not done before.
She is made responsible for results, anyway.
I’m not convinced she’s the “arch enemy”. For years now the ‘resistance field’ has quacked over and over about how she’s an evil central banker, yadda yadda, but I haven’t seen any real proof of these accusations. First of all she used to be Putin’s personal economic advisor and so clearly he feels some sort of close link to her, and she’s also very smart, ahead of the curve in her education as I understand it. I’m not saying she’s good or bad, I’m just very wary and critical by nature of any unsupported accusations. My verdict is still out on her until I see any proof of these claims.
Too many comments to read them all to see if this has been mentioned. Sorry.
Here in NZ it seems those who don’t get it never will. The rest of us want to understand what’s going on and network with those in our communities who wish to prepare. Your blog is a real help.
As for debunking the same stuff over and over again, why not put a permanent post at the top of your blog? Then let your regular folk in the comments section of each new post deal with the tiresome questions.
“Russia used its newest Kinzhal hypersonic missiles for the first time in Ukraine on Friday to destroy a weapons storage site in the country’s west, the defense ministry said.
Russia has never before admitted using the high-precision weapon in combat, and state news agency RIA Novosti said it was the first use of the Kinzhal hypersonic weapons during the conflict in pro-Western Ukraine.”

How prepared is the US administration to war against Russia in the military sphere. Economoc and informational domains yes as has been demonstrated? Biden is a dysfunctional president but perhaps his cabinet is too and would become more so under the pressure. The neocons in State i.e. Russophobes Blinken and Nuland have been at the forefront over the past few months but remember the MIG transfer debacle. Blinken publically gave it the green light one day, next day Poland sidestepped it the next day and on the day after that the Pentagon put the kybosh on the whole idea. Seems like Pentagon publically smacked State down quick smart. Perhaps then those who might have to do the dirty work don’t see eye to eye with the neocons. Might watch for other signs like this.
There is no need to strike into Romania. Romania has no army, the weapons – including the planes – are falling apart and the population, if having the chance to get weapons and fight, would rather attack its own government and politicians instead of attacking the Russians. A recent poll showed that 76% of Romanian males said that in the case of a war against Russia they would deny fighting :))))))
Using more and more Kalibr and even newest Kinzhal missiles will force Ukrainian forces to split and operate much more smaller units which will eliminate their chances to have any succesful big counter attacks. We will likely see from now on numericslly more but smaller pockets of encircled UAF forces with less fire power. They will be easier targets to ordinary RF artillery and rocket launcher units.
I’d like to remind to process of military especially in western nations were less and less soldiers are now combat people. During the American War in Vietnam (I never use the “Vietnam War” term) the popular used number: “over 500,000 US soldiers” should be in very different way. In fact maximum number of combat soldiers were 78,000 (1968-69). And actually US could send only 40,000 grunts to front line battle at same time when almost same number of those 78,000 had to be kept on other duties.
Then in highly hyped Gulf War just 5% of US forces were really combat ground force soldiers.
Use 5% or 20% if you like but 100,000 US soldiers in Eastern Europe actually means only 5,000-20,000 combat soldiers and my guess is likely just 10,000 if not even less. The bulk are more or less “The Geat Tail”, Pizza and Coca-Cola soldiers with no training in any real combat. As Scott Ritter has mentioned US Armed Forces have never since Ardennes met European modern warfare.
Numbers of Vietnam truly help us to understand why Americans had never a chance to win nothing there. So better to fight with Grenada to get some glory. Their best weapon is MSM MEDIA, foolish “American Dream” and humiliated conquerred German/EU sheep:”Bäää Bäää Bäää”.
Saker,
Even if there’s a 10% chance of nuclear war, best to be a little prepped.
This morning (Mittel Europa) – I gave the wife an extra 100€ and said let‘s do some serious grocery shopping. Not quite full on doomsday prepper, but let’s just say nice buffer stock.
We got there before the typical Saturday morning crowds….surprising how many items were light or out of stock. Maybe 5% of SKUs empty and another 5% of SKUs very nearly empty.
Monday morning = going to pick up maybe 1,000€ small denomination gold coins.
Andrei, I don’t have much to add to what you said. I will only address my concern for your health which should never be anything than optimal if you provide your body all the nutrients that it needs on a daily basis. Here is a quick summary based on the work of naturopath of Dr. Gary Tunsky.
There are five conditions that cause poor health. The first three only account for approximately 5% of all the health problems that plague America. They are:
1. Hereditary weakness (genetic predispositions).
2. Congenital deformity.
3. Permanent organ injury (accidents and sports injuries).
The other two, or remaining 95% that are the direct cause of mankind’s disease and suffering are caused by Cellular Toxicities and Cellular Insufficiencies, over which the principles of cellular cleansing, healthy diet and lifestyle play a tremendous part. Cellular Toxicities and Cellular Insufficiencies never occur separately, they always occur together in combination as a compounding effect where one plus one does not equal two, but equals 10, 20 or 100 times the health wrecking potency when you combine thousands of chemicals in the bloodstream.
There are eleven different categories that are necessary for new cell growth and proper functioning of the body’s systems as a whole. They are:
1. 24 amino acids.
2. Carbohydrates or glycogen.
3. Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s).
4. 16 vitamins.
5. 80 plus minerals.
6. Enzymes (catalysts which make everything else work).
7. Phytonutrients (pro-oxidants instead of antioxidants coming from green plants which have chlorophyll).
8. Sunshine or photon light (electromagnetic pulse waves which come from the sun).
9. Glyconutrients (essential glycosugars, glycoproteins and glycolipids needed for cellular communication).
10. Oxygen.
11. Water.
Every cell, whether it’s a nerve cell or a muscle cell or a brain cell, is analogous to us as a whole in a microcosm. For instance, we have to breathe oxygen — cells have to breathe oxygen. We communicate — cells communicate in five different languages:
1. Electromagnetic language
2. Neurotransmitter language
3. Hormonal language
4. Electrochemical language
5. Neuro-peptide language which would be a combination of brain to muscle communication.
So if you provide these nutrients and have a healthy lifestyle and relationships, you will not get sick! I can attest to this because in more than 18 years I have not even had a cold!!! The simplest way to arrive at this is by one supplement which is the result of 20 years of research by former Soviet scientists, Dr. Michael Kiriac whose supplement was used to help people in Belarus from the fallout of Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986 as well as numerous other initiatives to improve the health of farm animals. It is the most nutrient dense supplement on the planet. It is called biosuperfood. I send you the link to the site that sells it in the US and Canada and ask you to consider it if you are having health problems. We want you to be around for a long time! All the best!

The term for the rulers of the West is “Nekulturny”.
Listen, I think we are being a little bit pessimistic here. All this talk of nuclear war is not really helping anyone. If it goes that far then we are all dead. Everyone. But I don’t think anyone will let them go so far. The military commanders are the ones who have to press the button and despite being told to by the crazies at the top….I don’t think it will happen. There would be a revolution before that.
Let us think about the world since 1945. We have come a lot closer to open conflict and always some common sense prevails.
Yes, it is painful to see what they do to Russia, but Russia is strong. Russia has energy, water and food. Everything else is superfluous. Do russians NEED iPhones etc. No. I put my faith in Mr Putin and come what may.
Agree that the will of the conscious people is indefatigable and that this time shall be navigated to a better position. Keep in mind always the source from which we are manifest.

David Stockman on the Ukraine situation:
https://www.lewrockwell.com/2022/03/david-stockman/pearl-harbor-my-eye/
I keep hearing people say that everyone is a loser in nuclear war.
Well, at the moment it seems that everyone who is not an elite is a loser, nuclear war or not. They own the information, the money, the land, the resources – the only thing we have is our labor, which they tax to oblivion anyway.
Therefore, the only real losers in a nuclear war are going to be the elites. And it looks more and more likely that a nuclear war is the only thing that could possibly stop them making us the losers forever.
Sorry to be a downer, but people being afraid to risk the little comfort they have is why we are in this sadistic corrupt slavery of an existence in the first place.
that’s true. What do we have to lose? The elites are the ones that will lose their banking system and methods of control lol. Not too much will change for the rest of us survivors. There’s no real difference between being a minimum wage slave with barely anything to eat, and post-apocalyptic nuclear scenario if you ask me
God bless you, Saker.
God bless you Saker, for all that you do👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Mercouris made a subtle but important point that many might overlook. Russia has been saying that the US is inherently untrustworthy, “not agreement capable”.
Biden made a remark that Xi remembers every ‘damn thing’ he says. That, by itself, speaks volumes. China is directly encountering what Russia has been asserting – that nothing the US says or agrees to can be trusted. So, they now appear to see this for themselves. In the end, China will stand with Russia, even if some within the CCP feel otherwise.

Oremos!

In a warning to NATO, Russia fired the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ‘Dagger’ hypersonic missile in combat for the first time to engage targets in Western Ukraine, neutralising a large underground warehouse in the village of Delyatyn in Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region near the country’s border with NATO’s Poland — over which it has a been receiving the bulk of military supplies, and reportedly destroyed a huge quantities of munitions. This is the first and only known use of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile. — there’s no known confirmed footage of the missile at the moment. — However, the use of the missile has been officially confirmed.
The Kinzhal has arrived! Fascinating video capturing a Russian Kinzhal targeting the Lviv area.
Notice:
1. The missile travels without sound.
2. Listen for the impact, about 10 seconds after impact the sound of the missile can be heard.
3. Multiple times faster than the speed of sound.
A bit of Kinzhal therapy should bring the collective Western conscious back to reality. I think this is going to help calm the situation.

@ Goran
Russia’s MoD has not issued any comments re: the use of “Dagger” (Khinzal) hypersonic missiles. Given the first casualty of war is truth, I would caution the promotion of that video as “the Khinzal” missile. The video-tapers cannot differentiate a Khinzal from a firecracker, there is no location on the video, it totally lacks verification. Until there is an official notification by the Russian MoD, as they issued with Yavoriv, all news are based on rumors.

I’m an American born and bred. I an mentally perplexed. Covid brainwashing and division is one thing. But now Ukraine has become a political weapon. I am pro Putin and Lavrov. I want to believe Putin is genuinely concerned for Russia and Russian prosperity and the future. This I will take a chance on. He may be all part of a globally orchestrated new world order. I’m not so ignorant or naive to believe the world is not controlled by people who have this power. I am absolutely disgusted by my country, our politicians and media. Even many in my family. I am a proud American who had a very European father but deep slavic roots. Polish. Im disgusted and infuriated by Poland’s alignment with NATO and the US. I really thought Poland was different. I hope the Russian people understand the enemy that will never stop coming for them. LQBTQ, black lives matter, finance capitalism, homosexuality, transgendered, multiculturalism, feminism, etc. These forces are more powerful than any standing army. This is not Nazism, this is not liberalism, this is not democracy. This is a global international anti-god new world order. I believe zionists are behind this and Israeli jews control the US. Florida just passed millions yo force holocaust education as an official part if public education. America is sick, dying, and falling from whatever grace it ever had. None in my lifetime. I am now living in the most corrupt country in the world.
Well Andrei, this was a very sobering message. I truly hope for the best, as you/we all do. However a smart person places that hope aside, and prepares for the worst. God bless us all.

“I speak of peace, therefore, as the necessary rational end of rational men. I realize that the pursuit of
peace is not as dramatic as the pursuit of war — and frequently the words of the pursuer fall on deaf
ears. But we have no more urgent task.
Some say that it is useless to speak of peace or world law or world disarmament — and that it will be
useless until the leaders of the Soviet Union adopt a more enlightened attitude.
I hope they do. I believe we can help them do it.
But I also believe that we must re-examine our own attitude — as individuals and as a Nation — for
our attitude is as essential as theirs.
And every graduate of this school, every thoughtful citizen who despairs of war and wishes to bring
peace, should begin by looking inward — by examining his own attitude toward the possibilities of
peace, toward the Soviet Union, toward the course of the Cold War and toward freedom and peace
here at home.”
My thoughts/feelings as well. The visceral hatred of Russia amongst the west’s ruling class runs very deep. Better dead than red.
A little bit of a primer on hypersonic missiles since that hypersonic craze is about to overtake us all with the introduction of Khinzal.
Firstly we must distinguish something. “Hypersonic” on its own is not particularly significant to the extent that this is not the first hypersonic missile. In fact all intercontinental missiles and many/most ballistic missiles are hypersonic. This includes everything from the nuclear ICBM’s to things like Iskander ballistic missile which Russia has already used many times in Ukraine. In short, any missile that ascends to outerspace (ICBMs) becomes hypersonic quite easily due to not having any air resistance. In fact nuclear ICBM’s are orders of magnitude faster than the Kinzhal (Mach 10-12?) as they can reach Mach 20-30.
But even with missiles that don’t go to outer space, ballistic missiles like the Iskander are also hypersonic. Although it is unknown (to my knowledge) the exact precise nature of this meaning. You see, Iskander is said to achieve hypersonic speeds at the point of “burnout velocity”, this is the velocity where the rocket has used up all its internal fuel and can then be guided via gasses and fins to its target. It may or may not retain hypersonic speed at that point to the point of the target depending on the distance and how much farther it has to travel. I’ve read at least one source describe an Iskander hitting the target at “supersonic” speeds rather than hypersonic, despite the fact that much of its flight was hypersonic.
The Iskander has some things in common with the Kinzhal, in fact it’s even speculated that the first booster stage of the Kinzhal is in fact the same as the Iskander. And if you look at the two they even look quite similar in their shape.
The main differences are as follows: the Kinzhal is considered an aero-ballistic, i.e. air launched from craft like the MiG-31, which gives it extended range due to the fact that the MiG-31 is the current fastest production plane in the world and can zoom towards a launch vector at Mach 3+ if need be and then launch the missile, thus giving it hundreds, if not thousands of kilometers of extra legroom.
This brings us to the other biggest distinction: the Iskander has a range of 400-500km mostly owing to the limitations of the famous “Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile Treaty” (INF Treaty) which limits and bans any missiles longer than that range but only for ground launched missiles. This means that Iskander while terrifying and probably also un-interceptible due to its speed, cannot really be used in such strategic purposes as truly long distance strikes (though don’t get me wrong 500km is considered pretty damn long distance for a missile at least on a tactical level).
So the Kinzhal circumvents this ban by being air launched and has an estimated/alleged range of 2000-3000km. The “catch” is that this range is listed as combined with the MiG-31 or Tu-22 delivery vehicle, so the actual range of the missile itself is unknown and for a rocket propellant style missile, the range can’t be exceptionally long because rocket fuel is not as efficient as the turbofan of a cruisemissile which can often go much farther on less fuel (mostly cus they travel much slower and thus spend the fuel more ‘efficiently’ as well).
So you may be wondering, what is the real difference between a Kinzhal and an Iskander in terms of their striking power, etc. Well in theory, they are not much different when compared to the same target. The MAIN and chief reason that the West fears the Kinzhal so much is that it was created with the express purpose of targeting U.S. seabased assets particularly Aircraft carriers, which an Iskander can’t really hit for a variety of reasons (range being the biggest, and it’s simply not designed for that). So the Kinzhal is basically a much longer range, and even faster, ship wrecking version of the Iskander.
Also I shouldn’t downplay the fact that, though they are both “hypersonic”, the Kinzhal is claimed to be upwards of double the speed of the Iskander, so this could make it far more deadly. We just don’t know how true those claims are yet, but the unofficial statistics we can see on the web show Iskander as Mach 5.9 and Kinzhal purportedly at Mach 10-12. The reason this is important is because, given 2 objects of the same mass/explosive power (Iskander and Kinzhal are said to both have similar ~500kg warheads, though Iskander has different types of warheads, some are bigger), the one traveling faster will exert more force via kinetic energy which is why according to wikipedia:
“The high speed of the Kinzhal likely gives it far better target-penetration characteristics than lighter subsonic cruise-missiles, such as Tomahawk. Being three times as heavy and almost twelve times as fast as Tomahawk, the Kinzhal has more than 432 times the on-cruise kinetic energy of a Tomahawk missile (~17.3 gigajoules, or equal to 4,100 kg TNT explosive energy).”
So even though a Tomahawk also has a similar 450kg explosive warhead, the Kinzhal infact achieves 432 times the power of a Tomahawk by way of kinetic energy due to being 12 times faster than the American missile.
So, to summarize, although Kinzhal’s characteristics on their own are quite impressive and revolutionary, the real threat of it is the fact that it bypasses Iskander’s limitations with much longer range and abilities to annihilate U.S. carrier groups. This is the real danger of it. American CIWS and AEGIS systems simply cannot stop it due to the fact that these systems require at least 6-15 seconds to acquire and engage a target. But here’s the problem, at the speed of upwards 9000mph, the Kinzhal does 2.5 miles per second. And the curvature of the earth is such that at about 3-4 miles at the horizon, objects are no longer visible. That means by the time the missile even appears targetable/visible on the horizon due to the curvature of the earth, it is already about 2.5 seconds from destroying you, and simply no system on earth can acquire and engage a target that fast.
Last thing I want to say. The video that was released. Personally I’m skeptical that this is actually a Kinzhal (I’m talking about the cellphone video from the guy on the ground, not the official MOD video of the missile hitting the warehouse). It may very well be, the truth is NONE of us have seen such a marvel in action before, and so none of us can truly say what it would look like. Many speculators claim the “glowing” missile is indicative of the “plasma shield” around it due to its fantastical speed of Mach 10+. This could very well be the case, but the main problem to me is the missile seems too low and is behaving like a low launched Kaliber missile. My understanding is Kinzhal is supposed to travel near the stratosphere fairly high up, something like 50km altitude give or take. And we’ve seen all the test footage of MiG-31’s launching it, it’s always launched at such altitudes. Now it could very well be traveling at that altitude it’s hard to tell from the very low resolution video. https://mobile.twitter.com/dusics/status/1505133411677229059
But personally, my educated opinion is it looks iffy to me. I’ll wait for confirmation or more videos. Truth is none of us know the true characteristics of the missile so it’s impossible to really confirm what we’re seeing, but for now I’m not buying that video, something about it looks off to me.
Former senior advisor the Secretary of Defense Col. Doug Macgregor joined Max Blumenthal and Aaron Maté for a candid, live discussion of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Col. Macgregor analyzed the battlefront as Russia advanced on Ukrainian positions and offered a withering assessment of the “NATOization” of Ukraine and the role of neoconservatives and the “uni-party” in driving the war from Washington.
This is a must watch video:

The largest amateur radio contest sponsored by US “CQ Magazine” just announced recently that no Russian or Belarus participants may qualify for any competitive score. They can only send their contest logs for checking purposes. This is the very first time in the history of amateur radio that such discrimination is utilized. So much different from the “Goodwill Games” back in 1996 when US amateurs hosted a global competition just to emphasize Ham Spirit, commonly shared among amateur radio operators worldwide. Not any more. Non-Russian Hams are openly sending their hatred towards Russians on many occasions.
