Saker, what you wrote is not a rant, I would liken it more to an almost primal scream of frustration and rage brought on by what you and I both understand is happening and has already happened with irreversible consequences.
I am Auslander. Most of you know what that word means and I use that pen name because that is what I am when I go ‘home’ to USA where I was born which, by the way, has as much chance of happening again as the Dark Lord driving a Kenworth with a Myers snow blade on it in his kingdom. I also use that name because when I go ‘home’ to my ethnic roots I no longer feel what I am, 100% ethnic German.
The Century of War ended on 31 December 1999 but the wars did not end on that date and have not ended to this day and may well not end by the time I’m gone in hopefully another twenty years or so.
The Century of War actually started in the late 1800’s, brought on by the constant squabbling between the interrelated ruling royalty of Europe and culminating in the total destruction of empires extant at that time. However, the war has continued and the true two main protagonists are now publicly revealed, Russia and USA, this revelation occurring to anyone with eyes and ears as Berlin was still smoldering in May of 1945. Everything that has happened in western cultures and in reality the world since that fateful day is woven in to the fabric of the ongoing struggles between the two main protagonists.
I will not go in to the details of events, most if not all of you who read this blog well know the main events that have occurred in the seventy years since the fall of the last European empire, Germany. Since that date the struggle between Russia and USA has been the foremost process in this world as other countries and continents emerged from that turmoil of the hostilities of 1932-1945.
Few, however, understand, truly understand, the one country standing in the way of total global domination of USA. Russia has never and will not ever go down on bended knee to anyone and that includes USA which was a scant couple decades ago at the disintegration of SSSR the most powerful empire in the world. It is a mark of the fear, not respect but fear, USA has of Russia that when there was in reality no definable command and control structure in Moscow USA did not attack and try to destroy Russia at last.
Russia has a long and very complicated history and culture. If you wish to begin to understand Russia you must start with a study of Byzantium, the Second Rome. As Constantinople was close to falling in 1453 most of the ruling, the wealthy and the middle classes fled as they could with many coming to the north and east shores of the Black Sea. In time many of those who fled moved north from the Sea and formed the basis for the growing Russian Culture. In my opinion Russia is the heir to the Byzantine Empire with all the good and all the not so good elements of that culture. The centuries since those times has seasoned and refined Russian Culture along with the always extant contacts with Eastern Cultures. Toss in the constant depredations of invasions from both east and west and you have what Russia is today, a mixture of cultures that makes for her very different from the rest of the world and a culture that is unfathomable to western and new world cultures.
The single most important event in Russian History since May 1945 is the ascension to leadership of V V Putin on 31 December 1999. He was faced with tasks that make The Labors of Hercules look like changing a baby’s nappy. That constant running sore of corruption, extant in both Byzantium and Russia for centuries, had run amok for a decade as Russia was looted to the very ground by the newly rich and powerful. Emigration was a massive problem as many of the best and brightest, and many of the not so ‘best and brightest’, ran from Russia. The Armed Forces were in unbelievable disarray and led by holdovers from the Great Patriotic War, which was neither great nor patriotic but a war of survival against an implacable enemy who wished to destroy Russia for all time. The physical plant was disintegrating do to many years of neglect and outright theft and corruption. In other words, Russia was a mess top to bottom.
Mr. Putin was not and is not a Czar with total power and in actual fact the Czars since after ‘Ivan the Terrible’ did not hold anything close to absolute power. Mr. Putin carefully, and craftily, began to rebuild the Russia of his mind. He did what he could to curtail the rampant corruption but of course he could only go so far in that task or he would not be alive to achieve his primary goal of restoring Russia to what she was and should be. His primary goal was to buy as much time as possible on the international stage so he could do what was needed for Russia.
His success, and his ongoing labors which never cease, became evident in February 2014 when landing ships from Novorossiysk Navy Base on the Russian Mainland put their bows to the quays near Kerch and Feodosya in east Krimea and disgorged Russian troops to secure the citizens of Krimea and Sevastopol, this action done at the request of the new governments in Sevastopol and Simferopol. At the same time airborne forces covered the skies of Krimea and Russian troops landed by transport at Simferopol Aerodrome which was under the control of Opolchensya, the local Self Defense Troop activated as the Ukraine Government was requested to pack up and leave.
While the operation in and of itself was not a logistic or operational difficulty the surprise to USA and EU of the sudden operation was total, in other words they had not a clue, no one so much as whispered about this sudden operation beforehand. This was a massive shift of attitude because before that operation US/EU had deep penetration of the working apparatus of the Russian Armed Forces and were simply left mouths agape as the first indication they had of the operation was news and social media passing about informations of Russian troops, ships and air assets suddenly in Krimea and Sevastopol and in force.
In the ensuing year and a half as Russia was massively pilloried and sanctioned by US/EU Mr. Putin never strayed from his tasks and fought tooth and claw to preserve and enhance Russian economies and forces. The next, and probably most important, surprise for US/EU was his agreement to a request from President Assad of Syria for assistance in Assad’s almost lost ‘war of liberation’ in Syria. Within days of their agreement Mr. Putin put in the Russian Air Force which proceeded to go from a western laughingstock to suddenly being a force to be reckoned with and feared by US/EU. Perhaps they believed their own propaganda, I don’t know, but the shock to US/EU was again total. As US/EU was struggling to curtail the sudden Russian operations and success against Mr. Assad’s assailants another threat was unleashed on the US/EU sponsored terrorists trying to destroy Syria.
On 27.10.2015 the little known, and little regarded, Russian Navy Caspian Sea Fleet unleashed a storm of 26 Kalibr Missiles on targets 1600 kilometers distant from the ships. All hit within five meters of their programmed targets. Within days more Kalibr and other missiles were targeted on the terrorists from Black Sea Fleet ships operating in the Mediterranean Sea and from air assets based as far away as Murmansk and Mozdok Aerodrome in Russia. The Caspian Sea Fleet operation was a game changer on the world stage. The Kalibr Missile was unseen in flight until the final kilometer of its flight when it went supersonic to its target. There is no defense against this missile beyond taking out the launch systems before launch. This system is also small enough to fit a double launch system in a standard rail and ship shipping container. The fact that the little Caspian Sea Fleet ships can navigate up the river systems to well within range of Europe means nothing, the ability to fit the Kalibr System in a shipping container means everything. Where are those containers now? EU is still casting a worried eye over their shoulders.
Russia has clearly announced ‘I am back’.
Now, the meat of the current turmoil in EU. I have no idea who unleashed the millions of sudden emigrants on EU but I do know EU has no idea how to cope with this mess and it is a cast iron fact that not one of those emigrants could have made it out of Turkey without the active participation of the Turkish Government. The actions and reactions of the powerless minions of governments in Occupied Europe are shown to have precisely zero power to follow the will of their disparate peoples occupying this Tower of Babel they call European Union. The very fact that these powerless minions are quite willing to unleash their various Gestapos on their own people to enforce their policies on their citizens points in one direction and that direction is west, ‘across the pond’ as the Brits say.
What is the advantage to Langley in regards to this massive wave of emigrants? Is this a reaction to the beginnings of grumbles from the powers ‘ruling’ EU about the huge economic losses because of the sanctions they themselves imposed on Russia and which were promptly returned to them in spades, much to their stunned surprise? Is this simply a way to show the Tower of Babel who is the real power there? Or is the reality this massive wave of emigrants is to be the final and total destruction of Europe and her many and diversified cultures.
Reality is thus. France died on the icy roads back to Poland from Moscow under Napoleon two centuries ago . The corpse was twitching until the disaster of Verdun in the ‘first’ war, the War to End All Wars. England and her empire died on Flanders Fields. Old Germany ceased to exist in fall of 1944 under the relentless air attacks of Bomber Harris in England by US Air Forces under his command. Japan died in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Vestiges of these vibrant cultures survive today but the reality is they are dead and gone. Some of us remember these vestiges fondly but what we were looking at was simply a dream within a dream, gone like the delicate sound of a spring butterfly’s wings as she passes in to the sunset.

An Incident on Simonka. NATO is invited to leave, coming in days.
Auslander, you have the advantage on me, you live on Krim and you know the language, so how come I understand exactly what you say about Russia and Vladimir Putin? I study Russia from afar and from a country where the general opinion is unfavourable to Russia. Perhaps I understand because I grew up in another world and age. I dare not visit France and Germany anymore, I want to keep my good memories, but I can visit Russia again anytime. Thanks for your contribution.
It is my understanding the refugees became restless when the UN could not secure enough funds to feed them all. It was a financial problem from the beginning and perhaps the lack of funds were intentional.
Thank you !
Your last point is exactly to the point. Also EU’s ” unpreparedness” was well prepared.
Looks like the empire was mistaken and Russia and its Syrian ally are hard targets. Russia wins for now but the empire will be back.
In the meantime look for big action in Asia as the empire ramps on its war on China. Incredibly this will involve the empire becoming BFF with Russia in an attempt to Isolate China and ruin the Silk Road project.
The endgame of this ruse will be to get Russia and China fighting in Siberia. The result will be another Wil e. Coyote moment for the empire.
“The single most important event in Russian History since May 1945 is the ascension to leadership of V V Putin on 31 December 1999.”
You’ve got an old truck in the back yard that hasn’t run in years. The neighbors suggest you write it off and scrap it for parts. Out of no where, this gaunt, unassuming mechanic comes to the door. You say, “This machine has got all types of problems. The transmissions shot, the engines ceased, and there are oil leaks everywhere. Be my guest if you can do anything with it.”
The next day not only does he have it running, it’s got new tires, power steering and the air conditioning works now!
“US/EU had deep penetration of the working apparatus of the Russian Armed Forces”
It seems that even through the 90s Russia must have had a core of very loyal people in both intelligence and military. Not loyal to any ideology, but simply loyal to their country.
None of what has happened could have been achieved without that loyalty.
Peter, Russia did have a fair sized cadre of patriotic citizens in all walks of life and most assuredly in military and intel. However, few were in positions of real power in the ’90’s but that began to change and change rapidly after VVP came to head Russia. Perhaps this cadre, and it was not small, was why US did not attack during that seething decade. It is quite possible that there were steady hands in control of the Strategic Rocket Forces and if so I have no doubts the fact of their existence was communicated to those who should know.
Auslander
I have read elsewhere that the strategic missile force were kept in a state of full readiness even through the nineties. At one stage (just off memory here) when conventional forces where virtually non existent as a force and the US thought that the strategic forces may be in a similar state, a submarine fired off a full salvo of missiles simultaneously. Apparently it is the norm to fire a missile at regular intervals just to check the readiness and that everything functions ok, but on this occasion a full salvo was fired just as a friendly warning.
Regarding penetration of intelligence service. Back in 1975, the PM of the day wanted to kick the US out of Australia. The Australian PM was declared a security risk by the US (CIA). On the day that he was to reveal the names of CIA operatives in Australia to the Australian parliament , he was removed from office. This could only occur because the loyalty of the Australian intelligence services was to the US and not to the elected government of Australia.
Now that the US is turning its full interest to “containing” China it is time for Australia to part ways with the US as our main trading interests lay with China and the countries of the Asia Pacific, yet we have become a forward military base for the US attacks on China.
With five eyes, our intelligence services are fully compromised by the US and no doubt their loyalties will again lay with the US.
Unless the loyalty of the intelligence services lay with our elected government, there is no chance we can never break away from the US even if we were to elect a government specifically to do so.
@ Peter
Hello cobbler!
You got a good memory but forgot to mention Gough’s attempt at having a look inside Pine Gap. Plus the grand plan to nationalize the natural resources. Then Murdoch started spinning his bloviating presses as a prelude to regime change. Since then Oz has been a faithful deputy (Howard’s own description of his role) to the mad/bad sheriff.
I’m afraid that with Turnbull having seized the reins – as was predicted he would before Abbott even won the election, and having served as the Australian GM of Goldman-Sachs, the chances for Australia now are “Buckleys”.
Not for many years to come, not until the “master” country has been brought down will Aus have a chance to find itself as an independent entity.
Even New Zealand has more guts. I can’t get money into Russia via any Aus bank – but an NZ bank did it!!
“Russia has a long and very complicated history and culture.”
So a single millennium is what passes these days for a “long” history? The Arabs have SEVEN millenniums behind them! You are crying the passing of the European Empire which already lasted an above-average 500 years (est. 1492), well the Arabs built and lost several world-wide empires (covering the whole civilized world) before even Europe got out of the Tribal phase.
(Western) Europe got rich by plundering the world and exporting their poor and surplus population, now the world is paying them back in their own coin.
You think the situation in Europe is bad now, wait until some world-war cuts the supplies of Arab oil and Russian gas, their cities will freeze in winter and their agriculture will fail without fuel & fertilizers; their industry once destroyed will not restart again.
NB: Arab = Semite = Akkadian = Phoenician = Chaldeans = Canaanite, etc.
I don’t remember mentioning any cultures besides Russia and selected parts of the Tower of Babel nor did I lament the passing of the old cultures in the current union of Europe, I simply stated what is to my eyes the reality of today which is the fact that the old Europe cultures are gone for many decades.
” I simply stated what is to my eyes the reality of today which is the fact that the old Europe cultures are gone for many decades.”
I understand, my comment was a bit tangential to what you have written because it’s more about the background or your mindset (as displayed in the comment, I don’t know you obviously.). Just a few remarks:
* Europe is not an “old” civilization, civilization didn’t even enter north Europe until 1000 AD, that’s nothing in the story of human civilization.
* Russia (and I say this as a card-carrying Russphile) is a very new member of the civilization club. Again entering around 1000 AD.
* The passing of empires is a natural process. You correctly place the peak of Europe before the Great War, they’ve had a at least two generation (’45-present) reprieve (they wasted it in decadence instead).
* The (western) European Empire was a very destructive empire that built a civilized Europe (the one you are mourning) on the ruin of the world and all the old established civilizations.
The old cultures of Europe are gone? Well I say good riddance, to the rubbish heap of history with them. New people are coming to colonize and populate Europe and Rome will rise as Alba declines.
The unarmed refugees of today are a repeat of the People’s Crusade of 1096 in the other direction. The Arab countries alone have a surplus population (a real and not an economic surplus because there is basically no water to sustain them) of 50 to 100 million while European countryside is virtually empty. Sooner or later we’ll see a large movement of people into Europe replacing the old with the new.
We will agree to disagree. You have your thoughts and I have mine and from the looks of it ne’er the twain shall meet.
Auslander
@ Nemo
7,000 years!!! Gosh! You sound as a Daesh’s troll. The ancient ME civilizations were not “Arab”. If there was a ‘civilization’ at all sprung from there it was a theocratic Muslim expansion to North Africa and some bits of Europe, not the ‘whole civilized world’. And it only lasted a few centuries (the Ottomans took over the ME in the 13th century). Besides there were greater civilizations elsewhere, e.g. India, China, Incas, etc., not to mention old Greece and Rome and the nascent Germanic kingdoms (Franks, Angles, Visigoths, Sueves) who inherited the Roman empire and built Christian Europe, the birthplace of ‘Western Civilization’. Such nonsense shows where you come from.
Dear Auslander,
here some thoughts on some of your thoughts:
“…since the fall of the last European empire, Germany…”
Germany never was a real empire. To have some colonies in Africa don’t made an empire. “The Empire” is in it’s core spiritual. So the first manifestations of an empire are religion and monetarism: the power of issuing money. Germany had never this power. There always was ONE Empire on this planet: just transforming through the ages while occupying new “host nations”. Persia, Rome, Venice, GB, USA.
“…the one country standing in the way of total global domination of USA…”
Not really. Freemasonry is above politics, military, economy etc.. In Freemasonry you know the fundamental laws of reality or creation. They apply the knowledge of these laws: creation needs three forces, not one or two. So the narrative about Unipolarity is for the exoteric masses. The real esoterics know, there is a thesis vs an antithesis and a third force directing the former two.
“…SSSR the most powerful empire in the world…”
No. See first point. The SSSR had never the sovereignty over their currency. Had Stalin or his successors implement the “Gold Rubel”, we could call it an empire.
“…when there was in reality no definable command and control structure in Moscow USA did not attack and try to destroy Russia at last…”
The reason was and still is: a mason would never destroy the thesis or the antithesis. Would he, he would destroy the very mechanism of influencing the process of reality creation here.
“…If you wish to begin to understand Russia you must start with a study of Byzantium, the Second Rome…”
A good one! And exactly this is the reason, why USA & Russia are two sides of the same coin: ROMA.
“…Russia is today, a mixture of cultures that makes for her very different from the rest of the world and a culture that is unfathomable to western and new world cultures…”
I hear that argument very often in the “Russian alternative media”. I can’t understand why? Maybe it’s my blindness, because I’m a Slav by my DNA. Unfathomable for me is the modern Japan, Tokio. Manga girls in school uniforms punishing old guys in very weird shows…
“…He was faced with tasks that make The Labors of Hercules look like changing a baby’s nappy…”
If you have the “Ring”, then you know that you have the power to lead a nation. If you know the destiny, at least a part of it, then you can feel safe so far you are swimming with the destiny and not against it. The only thing you have to watch is the timing.
“…Mr. Putin was not and is not a Czar with total power…”
You are right! According to Yevgeny Alexeyevich Fyodorov (United Russia party) only about 20% of Putins policies are put into effect, “thanks” to the 5. & 6. columns.
“…the surprise to USA and EU of the sudden operation was total…” (Krim)
I see it upside down: what happened to Crimea was foreseeable. A completely logical “chess-move”. Very decent realized, but nevertheless foreseeable. Why is the “West” so shocked? Their counter-move – the shot down of MH17 and the sanctions – came fast. So they were prepared for this…
“…The next, and probably most important, surprise for US/EU was his agreement to a request from President Assad of Syria for assistance in Assad’s almost lost ‘war of liberation’ in Syria…”
You don’t read Voltaire.net? Thierry Meyssan? From him we heard already in !2012! that the Russian intervention is Syria was agreed on. Between the Obama administration and the Kremlin. Why is everybody so surprised? Even in this milieu here, where this information is available?
“…little known, and little regarded, Russian Navy Caspian Sea Fleet unleashed a storm of 26 Kalibr Missiles…”
OK: it’s now hair-splitting on my side but I wouldn’t call 26 missiles a “storm”. The amount of cruise missiles used in Desert Storm were a storm…
“…I have no idea who unleashed the millions of sudden emigrants on EU…”
The Empire. The financial oligarchy gave the orders. Pentagon & CIA planed it. Turkey pulled the trigger. Merkel unlocked the door and left it open.
“…but I do know EU has no idea how to cope with this mess…”
Of course they know how. But they are the “executive branch” of the Empire for Europe…
Prometeus
My reference to ‘the last European Empire’ was actually a bit sarcastic, I consider Third Reich to be the last European ’empire’ although it was no empire and as the victors of that horrid fight filed past and spit on the smoldering corpse the real fight was on, the one between US and SSSR, before and after Russia, and the fight is ongoing.
You seem to be taking some things from my article out of context. For instance:
” SSSR the most powerful empire in the world” actually reads, and you know how it reads, “that includes USA which was a scant couple decades ago at the disintegration of SSSR the most powerful empire in the world.”
Your quote:
“I see it upside down: what happened to Crimea was foreseeable. A completely logical “chess-move”. Very decent realized, but nevertheless foreseeable. Why is the “West” so shocked? Their counter-move – the shot down of MH17 and the sanctions – came fast. So they were prepared for this…”
I remember during this Op the absolute surprise in western military circles, they literally saw and heard nothing until the transports hit the quays and beaches and the Antonovs were landing at Simferopol. While some bright lights may have foreseen these events they certainly did not inform their superiors nor anyone else and if they did inform said superiors the bright lights were ignored.
A herd of 26 missiles on the way is a storm, especially when you are the target. The shock to west military was total when the RuAF went in to Syria. The move was very fast and active immediately as was the supply bridge and in scant days West military was no longer laughing at the ‘rust bucket’ Russian Navy and Aerospace Forces and seem to have had an epiphany of sorts. The Kalibr missiles were the icing on the cake, pure and simple. When I was in US in October I spoke to some old friends, now I should say former friends, who are serving. Gone was the bravado, gone was the bragging about the possibility of open conflict with Russia, gone was the derision for Russian Armed Forces. They understood that if it comes to armed conflict this one will not be a turkey shoot against poorly led and poorly trained soldiers, this one would hurt bad and they stand a very good chance of losing.
I will be bluntly honest. I don’t agree with the total world control by the free masons or any other group story and I never will. There are too many powers and movements that wax and wain constantly for any one entity to control all either now or at any time in the past. In general History is the story of civilizations and empires that come and go, some disappearing totally with nary a record of them today. I will of course never denigrate you for your thoughts and beliefs, it is your right to have them, just as it is my right to not agree with them.
Auslander
Dear Auslander,
Thank you for your kind and respectful answer!
Nothing what you said has to be “wrong”, like nothing what I said has to be true. It’s a matter of the perspective.
Reality or what we think that reality is, I think is layered, onion like. So the question is: where are you standing? From which perspective are you watching the unfolding of events? If we treat each other as “scouts”, who acquire new information in certain fields and then share this information with each other, we can build and differentiate our knowledge and understanding.
Before I wrote my answer to your post, my intention was to write a short “intro”, but I gave it up because of a lack of time. The idea was to write something like “if I’m contradicted to 5 of your 20 sentences means in reverse that I agree with 75% of your thoughts.”
Regarding the different perspectives, allow me one example:
[…]When I was in US in October I spoke to some old friends, now I should say former friends, who are serving. Gone was the bravado, gone was the bragging about the possibility of open conflict with Russia, gone was the derision for Russian Armed Forces. They understood that if it comes to armed conflict this one will not be a turkey shoot against poorly led and poorly trained soldiers, this one would hurt bad and they stand a very good chance of losing.[…]
Nothing wrong with this!
But why am I not surprised, but your friends are? Maybe because I’m familiar with the works of Rudolf Steiner (Anthroposophy) and your friends are not? Maybe…
Steiner gave us the insight, that the Anglo-Saxon lodges are very well aware of the fact, that the Slavs, mainly represented by Russia, will inherit the leadership of the world from the Anglo-Saxons in near future. This was said somewhere around 1900! Said, revealed, but the knowledge of these “cycles of evolving and devolving of cultures, nations and empires” is maybe much, much older.
Steiner also added, that the main task for Russia until they gain world-leadership, like the Anglo-Saxons have now for centuries, will be the wise balance of allowing the Anglo-Saxon influence on them (Russia), like an younger brother would learn from an older one, but without allowing being completely pocketed and patronised.
If you take this information seriously, you begin to view Perestroika, Gorbatschow, Yeltisn and the “90’ies” in a different light. I claim, that the dissolution of the former SSSR wasn’t an accident or a tragedy, it happened by intent and design: Russia was getting rid of the corrupt satellite states that were feeding off Russia and the allowed “shock therapy” administered by the “Chicago Boys” can be viewed as a vaccine. The possibility for an organism to get to know his enemies first hand. By experience and not from reading books. Russias collective psyche knows now Liberalism and turbo capitalism very well.
Google:
Anatoly Golitsyn
“New Lies for Old”
“The Perestroika Deception”
If we believe his story, already in 1961 the faked fall of the SSSR was predicted. As was the coming world leadership by Russia and China. In a time where China was much closer to USA then to Russia. Nevertheless I claim that Anatoly Golitsyn had some knowledge. Not initiated in the occult knowledge of the ages but secret service knowledge. So he maybe knew the strategy, but not the spiritual roots of the developments to come.
So Rudolph Steiner is your ‘god’ and you blindly go by the insight that he gave you? Well, Steiner may well have had some sound ideas and wise thoughts, but why is it then that of all my well-educated friends who studied Steiner and who tried to live along his teachings there isn’t one who isn’t a mess? And then I’m talking about emotional, financial, logical, economical and practical messes, without exception sporting a whole bunch of health problems including exotical diseases like Wegener’s Granulomatosis with polyangiitis…
Steiner’s ideas are not exactly a good example of the way to ‘knowledge and understanding’.

I think you are captiously unfair to Auslander. He gifted us an off-the-cuff synthesis of Russian history to put in context current events, which most followers of this blog appreciate very much. Yet, you nit-pick sentences because they tell something different from your arcane point of view.
Kim from Downunder
I know what you mean, Auslander. I do hope though that Europeans — as it seems — rebel against the loss of their identity.
As for those tempted to rejoice at Europe’s demise, wait until you see your way of life, too, overwhelmed by the Great Cultural Leveling forced on us by the Big Corporations that are our actual masters. You will buy their products, eat their GMO food, have your kids taught about sexuality in kindergarten, forced to be “culturally diverse”, and in the end fight their stupid greedy wars. Unless …
Auslander, you bring an insight that illuminates the complexity of evaluating ‘now’ through the dusty remains of history.
Your summation of the prior deaths of these cultures we post-WWII souls cherish is unique.
Perhaps, it makes our sadness at the present destruction that much more bitter if we come to realize the life went out of the European body long before now.
I know that the tyranny of the US government toward its own citizens signals a death. Trump talks clearly about the death tag on its toe. He hopes to bring it back to life in a new economy, new alignment with other nations, new relationships with everyone not a terrorist threat.
He may get the chance that Putin received. They are very different but one near-corpse came back. It could happen again.
Last night, in a town hall, he again boldly tore into NATO, into other hegemonic positions in the ME and Asia Pacific.
Of course, the US society is in internal conflict left to right, top to bottom. And it has been denuded of its coherent spiritual center. It is very dangerous months ahead while we wait to see the conclusion of the Presidential campaign. If Trump wins, there is some hope. If they stop him and frustrate the will of the people, more chaos is predictable.
Larchmonter445
Thank you for your compliments on my writings. As some know I pay attention to History, past and present and for present history I not only look but I see.
It saddens me immensely to watch the death of both my cultures over the last sixty odd years. I am not bitter, I am a realist and I know that Old Germay died in 1918 although like other cultures that died in that year Germany sputtered along for another 25 years. As a teenager and a young man I did see vestiges of the old cultures but as time passed and I aged there were fewer and fewer of us who remembered and who were the Old Cultures. With now 70 years since the supposed end of the ‘second’ war almost all of those who were actually in those old cultures are gone.
As far as USA is concerned, I put the pinnacle of American Culture in 1945-1965. This is a very short time for a culture to grow, blossom into greatness and just as suddenly wither on the vine and virtually collapse. The decline since ’65 has been ever more rapid and frenetic, in a way it’s like putting the decline and fall of Roman Culture over three centuries and more in to a scant fifty years. Today America is a seething mass, a boiling cauldron of anger, frustration, dreams, disappointments, and despair. The middle class is gone, the lower class and the poor have grown in numbers exponentially while the upper class and the tiny numbers of elites are ever more isolated in their own little worlds with armed guards everywhere to protect their little cocoons of peace and tranquility from the increasingly violent and predatory ‘ordinary citizens’.
I don’t know what happened, I was gone for most of that time, spending maybe a month out of a year in dribs and drabs in US but by the mid nineties the fall was patently obvious. At this time from afar the country I served and was intensely loyal to looks like a raving monster. The culture that I knew is gone, dead and buried. I could wax prolific on individual signs and happenings in this precipitous fall from grace but that is useless, what happened has happened and more is the pity for that.
I do not know where the current times will lead us but I agree that the last chance for US to remain somewhat tolerable is Mr. Trump. However, he is not the anointed one, ‘she’ is. I think there is a 95% chance ‘she’ will be the next occupant of the Oval Office and I also think that ‘she’ will not be a passive participant in internal and external duties that occupant has, such behavior is not ‘her’ way. I also think, or should I say I fear, that if Mr. Trump begins to look like a clear and probable threat to the process of putting the anointed one in that office that he will be destroyed and this destruction will occur when there is too little time to produce a viable candidate to oppose ‘her’ in the election. There will be a name on the ballots but with Mr. Trump gone it will be basically over and that will be the time to send my family somewhere else and this time I will not take ‘no’ for an answer.
When I see the steadily increasing turmoil, violence and attempts to control the citizenry in US I always think of what I say here when I see officialdom do something abysmally stupid and smile whilst they do it. “They have forgotten 1918.” US did not have a ‘1918’ but it looks more and more like they will and it will not be pleasant.

Coming in days, An Incident On Simonka, NATO Is Invited To Leave
Growing up in the US in the 50’s and 60’s, I remember well how in my 5th grade class, hearing impossible rumors during lunch about an attempt to kill the president, only to find out the rumors were true. Even to my 10 year old mind, it seemed the wonderful world of my American childhood began to fall apart and disintegrate from that moment forward, with race riots, Viet Nam, etc.
Last night spent an hour on beeb parliameniary watching the UK parliamentary Select committee of Defence taking”evidence” March 1st from Chatham house, NATO representatives etc –never would I have believed such a cold war attitude from deep inside a bunker currently prevails amongst the mostly conservative politicians, believing what they want to believe-refs to Putin assassination policy, russian trolls commenting on mainstream media use by rus military of hybrid war tactics, Rt influence… Rus will always lie to convince west they are telling the truth, annexation of Crimea and invasion of ukraine all part of VP spreading his empire and every tactic he has to split apart europe. Rus has violated joint founding principle of NATO…lied over Crimea re little green men….Rus has a credibility problem, poor innocent ukraine Uk and NATO are transparent, Rus is not..VP and Rus total corruption…….ye gods, absolutely no hope for “peace and reconciliation” ever the impression was NATO is required to instantly nuke Rus under the slightest excuse(that NATO was only too slow over Crimea, but the next time eg a Baltic country)…………all this I percieve as actually their own falsehoods belonging to them, projections of their own inverted beliefs.
Maybe the successful Rus action in Syria might for a moment give a pause to their thoughts, as a March 8 house of Lords a very important debate trying to impress upon UK Government their genuine concerns and advice to ensure peace negotiations were successful -attended by c 12 lords I watched for an hour -over the peace settlement in Syria was again doubtful of Rus intentions-only 1-actually an ex ambassador to Syria clearly stated the obvious (and quoting another ambassador Peter Ford who has publicly dissented from the mainstream) is that the main problem was caused by the Assad must go meme…….
even today french foreignminister saying Palmyra falling was fault of Assad because he should have done more to defend it, so clearly he is continuing the Fabius line.
I would (only?) recommend Saker to look at these as a military analyst, (there must have been final defence documents/reports made?) so he could use it to make an analysis of the complete psychosis Uk has (let alone all the other NATO countries)in a backward stuck in cold war of self delusional beliefs, the failing quality of these most miserable people rejoicing in their own deceptions but ultimately dragging us into God knows what…….every chance for military and political confrontation with more to come from reinforcements.
There is serious consternation in the British Establishment.
And the French.
You would never see such unanimity otherwise.
The media spin is not working anymore in Britain.
The fear is less to do with Russia’s renaissance on the military/civilizational front than revolt from their own electorate.
Group-think is a comfort in times of challenge. But behind the murmurs of affirmation among peers, and the chink of bone-China tea-cups, the susurrus of discontent is growing into a growl of fury…
I am in broad agreement with Auslander’s analysis except for one thing and – as always – it is the proverbial ‘elephant in the room’, discussion of which – even in the comments section of this blog – is considered -ahem- ‘not kosher’.
Once again I commend this series of articles (by another ex-patriot German) to all – and especially to “100% ethnic Germans”. They (the Germans) are not – and never were – the unmitigated villains of 2 world wars; neither did Hitler – that cosily agreed-upon-by-both-sides (ie the West and Russia) arch-villain – set out to ‘destroy Russia’. Rather he set out to destroy that same elephant in the room that, until Stalin had vanquished the Trotskyists, remained in near totally dominant postions throughout the government and military leadership of the USSR and a major threat inside Germany itself. Hyperbole? perhaps, but a severly neglected, verboden and revealing prism through with to view the history of the past 100 years or so and one which would fulfill the promise of Auslanders article were he to give it due weight – IMO anyway.
The elephant is still pulling most of the strings and has much more influence over Putin than anyone who – like me is desperate to see that bloody elephant vanquished once and for all – should allow themselves to ignore or feel comfortable with.
PS – Part 4 of the above article cannot be published for fear its author could wind up in a German (or even Russian now) prison, should he need to return there. Anyone who would like to read it, email me – peter[at]wikispooks.org – for confidential access to it.
friends,
i hope you don’t mind my expectation in that presumption.
it’s always good to read these comments along with the articles, but one thing/element so far lacking,
but nearly touched on (via the elephant in the room) is much comment on the UK. i have been slowly turning to a realization more and more that our empire ( i live here) maybe did not die as perceived but merely went sort off underground. we do a superb job of keeping things hidden/opaque.
we seem to be able to operate the modus operandi of that elephant in the room race better than even they do.
ie; so is the financial capital of the world, if there is one, is it wall st? or is it maybe still the sovereign state of the city of london? i wonder.
two more observations.
wars are fought in many ways now currently. hybrid wars. russia is up there with the best of them.
the west via wall st etc.engineered an oil price collapse in the 1980’s, to facillite the fall of the ussr.
whilst this is conjecture, i would not be surprised to find that russia/vvp having inked so many agreements with so many other countries over trade and resources, then proceed to engineer the present oil price collapse having insulated themselves (and their partners).
it’s an act of war. but who’d know. who did that?
secondly,
did assad recieve some statesmanly advice, that went along the lines of : send your people whom you can no longer feed to europe, and let europe feed and house them.
dirty wars. impossible?
lastly,
we are going to have a referendum in the uk over being in/out of europe, i think.
and whatever happens, whatever the result is ,the rulers will still rule us.
Superb summary Auslander – thank you.
Should Auslanders sentences re the Russia that V.V.Putin shouldered in 1999 stimulate a desire to know more, if you haven’t seen it I think the 5 part documentary on youtube “The Unknown Putin” is well worth watching.
It was made by the journalist Andrei Karaulov who said he wanted to examine the Russia of the 1990’s and detail exactly what it was that Putin had to deal with. Seeing what the people had to suffer is not easy at times, but it does give an excellent background and perspective with a wide range of interviews with many people.
I think also, it’s worth watching by those who seem often to think that Putin [and Lavrov] are “sucked in” by the American actions, by the “5th column”. To think this information is out there, and Putin doesn’t know of it is absurd. To even begin to imagine he could trust America again – after all that was done – is beyond ridiculous, it’s an insult – I think – to him.
Once you have the background, you have the context. Once you have the context, you can see more clearly where things have come from and where they are more likely to go.
Auslander’s letter to Saker ends unexpectedly, for me, with the statement of the dead empires and how they died.Empires expire but their cultures do not, just look at Erdogan of Turkey being mercilessly used by the US empire. An empire Auslander never mentions in his letter.
I particularly am fascinated how Russia started by Auslander.
I have watched the world change since leaving Waasenaar, the Hague, Netherlands, in 1940. 0n our way by public bus to the ship leaving Portugal, that would take us to America and supposedly no war, I became the watcher I still am today, in 2016.
The news I read of today on alternative news, supposedly free of Western (US/UK/EU propaganda news) media news, no-one even murmurs what I see every day, the global mutant the USA has become. Bigger than life.
I have been watching alternative news on RT.com at least three times a day, 24/7, since February 2014, when a ugly, angry, sandwich dispensing, US State Department Nudleman woman (Nuland her US name) walked her way through throngs of Ukrainian street crowds chanting praising statements that made no sense, in English, nor would the crowds have understood her plump US approval mantras. The sense was she assumed her misunderstood American phrases would bless the massing street Ukrainians into a US useful anti-government movement. Sandwiches instead of blessed church wafers. An intuition right on. With the blessings of ex-Presidential wife, Mrs. William Clinton, who had raised Nudelman to US State Department power roles, she exuded brash American confidence in something impossible to assess as it was invisible but to the one percent power holders such a Pyat, Clinton and Nudleman. Rather like the snake surviving by eating it’s tail.
The United States, since I was that four year old who arrived, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, always merited great care to observe it..this new American world of humans, angry humans mostly sure they knew answers to questions no-one in Netherlands but my Dutch father or my American Grandfather in Detroit seemed to ask. No one is asking them now either. As the US slowly and surely destroys Europe. Incredible.
The reams I read never cover my concerns, the RT.com Cross Talk shows flirt with my questions and then with a laugh, backs away from articulating them.
Something, yes, is over but it is not empires.
As to Russian Insider mess? That was set up and developed by experts Mrs. William Clinton hired to destroy it after finding out destroying RT.com was not the piece of cake she assumed it would be. Bausman’s brain child was easy as it was not funded by the Russian government…and small, new. Simple answer. The mess can easily be overcome as the basis of the program is transparent, honest, news. Not propaganda.
You must simply remember that Clinton money is US corporate opaque money as destroying Russia’s ability to flood true news worldwide that is globally craved is first and foremost US policy.
Russia has access to more brilliant heavyweight intellectuals than the US ever had in the last two, three, generations.
China will help you silence US attacks of any and all kinds. Just out from Beijing.
My second comment on the Auslander post about Sake’s rant on Europe. Threads:
A second Clinton Presidency will be purely because of CIA manipulation of the polls. See New York State polls. Her Presidency will split the vast country into splinters and increase the utter global distrust of American actions to levels unseen since the responses to Hitler atrocities. For one very good reason.
The US today is using Hitler atrocities to extend it’s own atrocities! This is why it never left Europe after WW1 and WW11 were over.
If you will look closely, the US cleansing of Third Reich Nazi leaders, movers and shakers, was very selective. Many virulent Nazi areas were never touched, deliberately. Netherlands was one. Then those in Ukraine, Poland and many more, I just do not know their names but each country had devoted believers of Hitler fascism.
My contention is that the US intended to remove the Russian win over Hitler and that was why it finally entered WW11. Those removal plots only come out now to the majority left of that time 70 odd years ago, but the highest Western leaders espoused them. The US oligarchs who funded bankrupt Hitler expected him to flatten Russia and then to share the spoils with them in exchange for all those millions of pre-depression dollars. Naiive Americans, as they are today too.Just watch again the Clinton State Department Nudleman navigate the Ukrainian streets handing out sandwiches, cookies and support to no-one understanding her language at all. Americans are con-men believing their own confidence games.
Only now all Europe is their prize, which Angela knows and offers them with both open hands, delighted.
My concerns are with what has been done so carefully to shatter Europe again so easily? It is never supposed to recover either. Except one I do know: Our European history is to be torched, removed, rewritten, in time erased completely. Those erasures begun long ago, continue. Our identities rest on those histories, and the humans who led us then.
” Russia has never and will not ever go down on bended knee to anyone”… don’t be so sure.
US and NATO strategy is to exert maximum psychological pressure on Russia to force an internal coup against the Putin faction. That includes economic and financial warfare which is quietly taking its toll. But that it further extends to NATO military forces moving ever closer to the borders of Russia. And then the emergence of a first strike nuclear capacity was debuted just a few weeks ago when the first phase of an ABM system was activated by the West.
Additional ABM components will be added over the next few years. Then the existential crisis will be in full Bloom: either Russia capitulates and allows itself to be carved up as an impotent satrapy (the Brzezinski Plan) or the US and NATO will launch a first strike with impunity.
The expectation is that the Russian elite will crack and accept capitulation rather than face annihilation whether it’s unilateral or mutual. Not a very pretty picture.
A Century of War by Auslander 28 September, 2016 is very fine. No, what Saker wrote was not just a rant. What are the very best sources of information on Byzantium? Russia? Seeing as the US and it’s obedient states are deliberately erasing Byzantium’s antiquities as fast as they can, using the Zionist vassal state to remove and rewrite as much as they can find what is left of that empire, as NSA Google, Homeland etc digitally transfer ancient documents, then alter them as permanently as possible to reflect the new Third Reich, lets call it the Fifth Reich … what we are looking at each day more clearly, as in today, we see the US has been supporting the Be-headers they created in order to have a proxy army they can rely on to bring the globe to into a deliberate state of barbarism, just exactly the German Third Reich plan, stopped by Russia, just as she stopped Napoleon. The main reason Russia has been formally demonised by Europe or the British Parliament, since 1814. Is it a coincidence that the takeover of a revitalised but not yet healed from WW11 loses, Russia. by the US led West began on February, 2014?
I cannot praise this posting enough. Auslander, spot on, nails the ending of global cultures beginning with 1453 at the beginnings of Russia. The freedom from instability, i.e. war, to analyse and write that analysis is a priceless window of time civilisation itself must have to survive the wars.,,and be able to deflect permanent wars. As we face them today. The toleration of the Clinton Machine will ensure WW111 will proceed further. It has already begun by the US Government on 9/11.
News casting in the alternative news that is honest based still leaves out the effects, deeply profound, of the human criminal elements of supreme power. They then can hide as if they can safely be ignored. They cannot. The most present one is the octopus of the global Clinton Machine, just simply rebranded.
It is visible in the newest EU/USA grouping in tiny Finland, so close to Russia, in order to set up a flashpoint to start a hot WW111 precisely as if it began from Russia itself. The unreality, fantasyland of the Neo-cons globalism is too imbedded in the ruling belief systems and the thousands, not just hundreds, who believe, to remove it. The fantasy defines who they have become permanently. This is why 9/11 was 100% US government cabal supported. The genocidal plans of the US elite, like the Rockefellers, etc, are part and parcel of the New World Order. Part of the still alive Clinton machine.
The Clintons were front and center supporters of the 9/11 conspiracy for a new world order so bizarre, so barbaric, the honest US government leader who knew the details of the takeover plans and the future structures of global control, the US Ambassador to Bengazi, had to be butchered.
The Secretary of State Clinton bathroom servers open to the world were set up for her to accomplish the death of this one man…in a way future whistleblowers could be too terrified by it. As in 9/11, MH17, Boston Kettle bombs, Christmas plane bomber, Paris Charlie Hebdo terror, Cologne mass Christmas rapes, etc adnauseum, covert slaughters were done in such a way exposure of their reason for being shows at the same time the terror imbedded in each incident explodes! Probably Zionist constructed exquisitely finely.
So the Clinton Machine conglomerate is too rich, too complex and too finely woven to allow it to be discarded. The Russian Federation alternative news, actually mainstream news, pinpointed this rebranding of the Machine using a staged Clinton photo of the Mr and Mrs, both wearing dark royal purple markers.
See this in the Duran plus all the videos of Trey Gowdy arguing for the use of national and international laws from before 9/11. He makes the airtight case that the spread and depth of US corruption legally unchecked is destroying the root and branches of the whole USA and will not be able to be reversed.
He is correct. Auslander’s post I just read makes the endings clear. They have none of them have reversed.
