I am sure that after a new law (#2541) is passed by the parliament we will see economic growth everywhere. The most interesting points:
1) The introduction of compulsory labor service for able-bodied persons;
2) the compulsory acquisition of property in private or communal property, seizure of property of state enterprises, state economic associations for the needs of the state;
3) the prohibition of peaceful assemblies, rallies, marches and demonstrations, and other events;
4) the prohibition of political parties, public associations, if it is aimed at eliminating the independence of Ukraine
5) state regulation of telecommunications companies, printing companies, publishing houses, radio and television, theaters and other enterprises, institutions, organizations, and institutions of culture and the media, as well as the use of local radio stations, television centers and printers for military purposes and advocacy work among the troops and the population;
6) Prohibition of work of receiving and transmitting stations of personal and collective use and transfer of information over computer networks;
Overwhelming victory of democracy, freedom and European values in Ukraine.

“In the Zhytomyr test site [western part of Ukraine] HAMMER’s were dismantled. On the way from Borispol [International Airport in the Kiev] were stolen the batteries, from all [from all Humvee]. Roskurochili [the batteries were roughly pulled out]”

Empire’s War on Russia
1. Why Putin Doesn’t Need To Pander To The West
Mostly because Europe has started to crack. EU officials believe that up to half of the member nations are ready to scale back sanctions. Among the most vocal in their discontent are Austria, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Slovakia, and Spain
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-02/why-putin-doesnt-need-pander-west
[RA1: Nothing earthshaking in this analysis of the Russian – West interactions. However, It’s interesting to look over the readers’ comments and conduct a completely non-scientific poll.
a. Russia is a peacekeeper and a freedom fighter.
“Fuck the Eu – to quote the USA. Russia now champions freedom while USA pursues serfdom. What a turnaround. I served in the armed forces against the USSR but now would serve with Russia. Such is the betrayal of western govts of the principles of freedom. “
b. Russian economy will growing. The West economy will collapse, this time for good. “Opportunity for growth” that’s what I’m talking about. Long Russia. Short NWO.”
c. The West has lost the proxy-war in Ukraine. The main incentive of breaking Russia apart cannot be achieved by this war.
“When the Uki junta launches their spring offensive, the Separastis gonna take Kharkov to Odessa. Chocula was warned at Minsk II. There will be no Minsk III “
“The puppet master (USA) does not yet have what they want, regime change in Moscow and/or the breakup of Russia into smaller harmless republics.”
f. Crazy pro-Uki trolls.
They copy and paste the same sentences over and over for every article on Russia, so it’s quite easy to round them up. 99% of anti-Russia trolls talks about the President of Russia’s looks.
Not one “dear leader” of a “free world” was ever subjected to the minute by minute scrutiny in regard to his appearance as President of Russia Putin. His skin looks shinier today than last week. His eye look puffy… Which one left or right? He is too skinny. He gained/ lost weight. Doesn’t he look bloated this morning… on his last meeting… on his previous photo… And my all time favorite: he looks so short in comparison to the Kremlin guards. Ladies, the Kremlin guards are 10 feet tall. Everyone looks tiny in comparison. It actually shows how humble Putin really is. If he cared about his appearance, he would appoint the Kremlin Guards of under five feet. ]
2. Fortress of Nationalism: Russia Is Losing Its Political Morals
The murder of opposition politician Boris Nemtsov reveals that Russia has become morally unhinged. The country is transforming into a nationalist fortress and the powers that be are happy to ignore the potentially dangerous implications.
[RA1: The German Spiegel contemplating why Russians are becoming less globalistic and more nationalistic and finding the answer in …. surprise, the Putin’s government propaganda. 4. Jewish organizations of Ukraine call to break Russia apart
http://www.politnavigator.net/evrejjskie-organizacii-ukrainy-rossiya-dolzhna-raspastsya.html
RA1: This call for the world Jewish organizations and communities to stop complaining to their governments about the plight of Jews and to unite in order to break Russia apart is, in my opinion, the response to the Putin support of the Arab League: Palestinians have right to state with capital in east Jerusalem . Putin also spoke on the importance of synchronizing the efforts of the Arab League with those of the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia.
The first time Putin so openly expresses support for the division of Jerusalem that terrifies Jews so much. This is an asymmetric warfare of Russia against the active role the Jews and Israel plays in the Ukrainian catastrophe. Is the war of Israel against Russia enters it’s open phase?

Need to write in proper English sentences and paragraphs. This is very hard to read and comprehend.
I agree. The information itself is okay imho, but the formatting needs to be improved. I would organize the different news items under topics with bold headlines in the form of subpoints, but that’s just my taste.
For a first SITREP it’s quite solid, good work.
Agree.
One more thing, The bright blue color formatting on the hypertext links makes it difficult to read.
The blue formatting indicates that you can click directly on the link, rather than typing the address into your browser window. I like it.
The shorthand sentences bothered me at first but as I saw the avalanche of information given to us it made more sense.
It isn’t necessary on most if not all browsers since when you mouse over the text it will change the icon if clickable. Also any web address in the text is an instant giveaway.
The blue highlights are intrusive, messy and detract from readabiliity IMHO.
Agree kill the bright blue if possible. I also agree with LJ and DC comments. Great Start.
This first attempt is quite a hefty round up of news and events, supported by links for readers to go further Into an issue. Although I had more to choose from, should everything be reported, or should the reports be grouped by themes to allow for more meaningful and informative reading? These would be my preferences, but I definitely got some gems from items offered. Good work RAs.

Actually,I think it serves its purpose quite well. It’s made tons of money for the Defense Contractors bank accounts. That seems to be the main purpose of much of the US defense spending over the years. The US spends as much as the next 9-16 nations combined (I’ve heard 9 and 16,so who knows which for sure) on “defense spending”.And yet they are not able to have a qualitative lead on Russia.Which spends at most 15% as much as the US does.I’m not complaining about that part. But I am complaining over the waste of money that should have been used to improve the lives of the 98% of US citizens not in the elite.
Exactly, it’s their business welfare programme, that and agricultural subsidies, while Wall St screws over the rest of the world’s economy. The purpose of a system is what it does — and this one keeps a lot of Americans employed. As long as they never have to use it in a real f2f war situation it’s a winner!
A report along the lines Saker has talked about before:
“Former adviser to the Vatican ieromonah Constantine (Simon) said that “the main goal of Ukrainian Uniates – distribute extreme nationalism and Russophobia.”
“A former Catholic priest who converted to Christianity, told about the attitude of Rome to the Uniate Greek Catholic Church, on the secularization in the West and the salvation of souls in Russia.”
http://rusvesna.su/news/1428167135
“A former Catholic priest who converted to Christianity”
LOL!
That is either way a gaffe, or a hilarious in-your-face admission what that place has been all along since we’re late in the game, down to the last evil fraud (Petrus Romanus) denizen of that pagan place.
Haha,I think that is a statement about different Christian faiths sometimes not considering each other fully “Christian”. It was (is?) the same among US Christians. When I was a child the different sects were always disputing that they were the “correct” form of Christianity.
To be formal, the original says “… Бывший католический священник, перешедший в Православие …”, which in English is “… A former Catholic priest who converted to Orthodoxy …”.
But I consider the sentence “… A former Catholic priest who converted to Christianity …” to be infinitely better – simply because it is correct.
Yandex translate:
A former Catholic priest who converted to Orthodoxy, spoke about the relationship of Rome to the Uniate Greek Catholic Church about secularization in the West and the salvation of souls in Russia.
I’m Catholic. Best wishes to you too.
I should think you would be used to it, with all the protestants who say Catholicism is not Christian — when they are not saying that about protestants of other denominations.
Bill Moyers joke at http://mediabloodhound.typepad.com/weblog/2007/01/story_of_the_da_3.html
Reformers, in fact, often remind me of Baptists. I speak as a Baptist. I know whereof I speak. One of my favorite stories is of the fellow who was about to jump off a bridge, when another fellow ran up to him crying, “Stop, stop, don’t do it.”
The man on the bridge looks down and asks, “Why not?”
“Well, there’s much to live for.”
“What for?”
“Well, your faith. Your religion.”
“Yes?”
“Are you religious?”
“Yes.”
“Me, too. Christian or Buddhist?”
“Christian.”
“Me, too. Are you Catholic or Protestant?”
“Protestant.”
“Me, too. Methodist, Baptist or Presbyterian?”
“Baptist.”
“Me, too. Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Savior?”
“Baptist Church of God.”
“Me, too. Are you Original Baptist Church of God or Reformed Baptist Church of God?”
“Reformed Baptist Church of God.”
“Me, too. Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God Reformation of 1879, or Reform Baptist Church of God Reformation of 1917?”
“1917.”
Whereupon, the second fellow turned red in the face and yelled, “Die, you heretic scum,” and pushed him off the bridge.
That is a simple statement of fact. The catholic church teaches anti-christian teachings and also acts anti-christian according to scriptures. Just read the evangelia, that’s enough.
Thank you , everyone for your time and kind understanding.
Your opinions are very important for us.

A small remote airport in north-eastern Poland, once used by the CIA as a rendition hub, has already received over €30 million in EU funds for its re-fit, but experts say it is a perfect example of “how-not-to and where-not-to” invest, as its economic feasibility, projected tourist forecasts, and impact on local employment are desperately low.
Poland’s airport project at Szymany, a remote airfield which the CIA used just over a decade ago to fly in kidnapped detainees for torture at a nearby intelligence training camp, still remains one of the largest European-funded re-fit projects.
Poles not too worried apparently over any ‘court order’—here’s an Apr 1 article on another one, not Szymany:

Thanks a lot for a very informative sitrep.
content is ok, formating not.
longer text which is on the bottom of the article should be at the top, those links in the beginning should be at the end of this report.
right now, seems chaotic to me, but if you make up the formatting it can be much much better.
Thanks for this!
It is a very long list. It must have been quite a lot of work. However, it is also quite a lot of work to read and usually I don’t have that much time. My idea of a sitrep is a management overview that gives you in a short time a good overview.
My suggestions for improvement are:
– mention a subject only once. The shelling of the Donetsk airport is now mentioned in several places that are far apart in the article.
– give a summary of the article. Not just a title and a link. When I read “Poroshenko Wants Internment of Russians Living in Ukraine” it is too vague to understand what is really happening. There should have been a few sentences that this is a new law that he submitted to parliament.
– keep it restricted to Ukraine. This is not the place to discuss prices of US farm land.
– keep in mind what the readers already know. The long quote from the Zero-Hedge “Putin doesn’t pander” article mentions positions that are well known to anyone who regularly reads this blog.
– keep in mind what the readers already know and anticipate questions. The call of a Jewish Ukrainian organization for the dissolution of Russia raised with me immediately the question whether this was Kolomoyski’s organization.
– keep things out that are too vague for people who are not insiders. The name Herman Gref was new to me. And as the linked video was only in Russian that I don’t understand I was puzzled what this issue was about.
– articles like the Spiegel one are background articles. I would prefer to include them in separate articles on this blog. If you want to include them in the sitrep, I would prefer to put them then at the bottom together. And to make the title clickable so that we don’t have the title and the url separately in the text.
Forgive me if I sound too critical. If you find only one point in my list useful to improve the sitrep I will be happy.
@ Wim Roffel,
Q; It is a very long list.
R; Thank you for your short list of improvements.
Wow! This is like a huge index of news and material. Very useful for picking up items one might have missed without needing to search through many different sources.
The one item about Putin laughing at journalist asking about missile defense targeting Iran is from 2013 but it’s not a thing someone should not know about, and it’s still funny. I expect that the focus and flow of these will become more ‘refined’ over time, but this is an excellent first post and very useful.
The difficulty is that there is just so much going on that it’s really hard to pull it all together and give an overall situation report while still keeping the specific details and links: this is part of the general information overload problem we have been facing for years now.
There are political events in the various countries, keeping track of propaganda, military events with actions, buildups, movements of troops and weapons, training and planning events, budgets — the full range of military tactics and strategy, the economic developments, social events, changes in communication and press situation, plus recounting the background and context needed to understand how the events relate to the overall situation — it’s overwhelming. And then to evaluate all these things n terms of significance and implications — this is enough to keep a whole governmental intelligence agency busy (and it does).
It’s like going into a Chinese buffet restaurant for lunch and trying to eat everything.
An interesting report today. It seems Poroshenko offered Putin Donbass at Minsk (I think he only meant the freed region,it isn’t clear). But Putin shocked, refused, and told him he should give them independence if Ukraine didn’t want the territory. But if they did want it.They should stop the war and destroying the economy there.Poroshenko is denying he said that. And blaming a translation from “Ukrainian” to Russian for the words.Leaving aside the point that all their conversions were in Russian not Ukrainian. I wonder how the news of that (if it is known) will be received among the Bandera in Kiev.
http://sputniknews.com/world/20150406/1020519193.html
I find it very interesting, assuming this is real, and not spun to push independence by who reports it, is Putin talking about an independent Donbas instead of federation with Ukraine. Has he given up on the idea and is now resigned to a united Ukraine being beyond possibility at this point?
Did not know where to insert this. But I must try. Might as well here.
The Saker (whoever he is), Nailed the issue of the true political content of Syriza (just 2 days after they won the last greek election). He said they would not fulfill their pre-election promises to defend the Greek people from the international banking Oligarchs.
The Syriza leaders are not actually “traitors,” as that would indicate they have betrayed their political foundation. The Syriza are counter-insurgent mis-direction agents of the international Anglo/American/Zionist bankers. That is their actual essence.
They survilely swear to continue sending the Greek People’s wealth to the Banking Usurer exploiters. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-32193571
The Saker was correct, and he was correct early.
In America, the Zionist-Left (both terms are are identical), operate within the imperialist Democrat gang, serve the same purpose as the Syriza, or the French Socialists, or the Socialists throughout the world. The American Republican gang serves to provide a fake opposition to the Democrats’ fake opposition as they waltz together, portraying 2 approved genders in a well advertised Hollywood production in which they pretend sex (er- democracy).
The Syriza will continue to pay the usurers. Leonidas they are not. They will drain the life blood of the Greek Nation, as Byron turns in his grave. The Greek Right will pontificate in a series of angry statements, with their key energy directed against other “foreigners” people. They will distort anger against the imperialist bankers into racist diatribes, that lead only to Hell.
Dems versus Repubs. Buddy Rogers versus antonino Rocca. Obomber versus Rominy. Clinton versus Bush. Verbs missing?
To pay the usurers.
To pay the usurers.
Jefferson wrote a few ages ago to his friend Madison:
“I set out on this ground, which I suppose to be self evident, ‘that the earth belongs in usufruct to the living’:”
“Then I say the earth belongs to each of these generations, during it’s course, fully, and in their own right. The 2d. Generation receives it clear of the debts and incumberances of the 1st. The 3d of the 2d. and so on. For if the 1st. Could charge it with a debt, then the earth would belong to the dead and not the living generation.”
The world for the living generation. A clean start for them. That is our duty.
For the Democratic Republics! Defended by well armed Militias! Led by Revolutionists!
IMAGINE
There is a much simpler explanation – Syriza is not a greek party at all, all european “left” parties are just a franchise of the pan-European “left” centered in Brussels.
Simply put, it’s a EU party, not a greek one. And of course, they will not push for their own destruction.
Hello:
I like the information assault! LOL. The only thing I would do is separate the various news links and info comments or headlines into their own bullet point style section with a line added to the numbering so as to make the article stand alone and thus be easier on the eyes.

I think its great. It is a bit chaotic but I expect that it will calm down a bit when you make these sit reps more regularly. I know the formatting has been mentioned by the others but I bring it up again because for me this would be a road block. I literally couldn’t read part of it because of the blue highlighting. In the end I copied the text into notepad and then into Word in order to read it. I don’t think I would go to that effort normally so if you are unable to remove the blue background I will have to skip these articles.

“Russia’s position is as follows: eastern regions of Ukraine are part of Ukraine, unlike Crimea, which was once incorporated into Ukraine as a result of a historic confusion. Today, no one casts any doubts that eastern regions are Ukrainian territory,” he said, adding that it was absolutely clear that Russia had no claims on those territories.

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Hungary lowered reverse supplies of natural gas to Ukraine from April 1, the Hungarian gas transport system operator FGSZ Ltd said on Monday.
According to the operator’s data, reverse supplies declined to 990,000 cubic meters a day from April 1 and to 690,000 cubic meters a day from April 3 as compared to 5 mln cubic meters exported daily at the end of March. Deliveries have thus declined sevenfold.

Ukraine’s new constitution should be in line with EU norms and principles — Poroshenko
KIEV, April 6. /TASS/. The new edition of the Ukrainian Constitution should provide the balance of power in the country, Verkhovna Rada speaker and Constitutional Commission head Volodymyr Groysman told the committee’s first meeting on Monday.
“Decentralization will make Ukraine stronger,” he said.
According to Groysman, the commission was facing huge responsibility. It’s necessary to work dynamically enough to devise a project, which would give the Ukrainian society an answer “on its present-day life and the future.”
The commission head noted that among the major tasks of the constitutional reform was to ensure the principle of the decentralization of power and transfer of power to the local level.”

The prisoners have been captured by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine as well as by armed units in the anti-terror operation region and nearby cities.
Residents of Slavyansk, Artemovsk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka and Kontsntinovka arrested for their sympathy to the Donetsk People’s Republic are held in the prison in the Kramatorsk airport. These ‘suspicions’ are usually based on anonymous denunciations.
The IGCP volunteer notes that tortures are used against prisoners in the prison in the Kramatorsk airport to get information from them. Relatives and friends of the prisoners are not informed about location of the prisoners.”

A suggestion to put American, German or Swiss customs service in charge of the Ukrainian customs has been made in the Ukrainian Parliament. The leader of Samopomosh (Self-Help) parliamentary fraction Oleg Berezyuk made such a statement during the Ukrainian Parliament conciliation board meeting.
According to the deputy the purpose of this initiative would be to stop corruption.
“We are saying that we have no money. According to rough calculations amounts worth the country’s annual budget are passing through the customs. We have a suggestion. Let’s once again do, what they did in Bulgaria, Poland and Indonesia – we have a serious suggestion for the Cabinet of Ministers to pass our customs under control of the Swiss, German or American customs for one or two years. This is international practice. We will obtain UAH 300 billion and we will not have to think about minimum pensions any more.” – Berezyuk said.

A piece here copy and pasted from fortruss. Seems important and a big step in winning the financial war the US is waging yet no mention of of it elsewhere.
“The Central Bank in this case helps us execute a financial transaction in order to provide liquidity to the creditor bank… There is a request to the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance to develop and present a financing plan … subject to the payment of interest on loans, this is around 80 billion rubles”
According to the [colonizing – KR] constitution [from the 1990’s – KR], Putin (or Medvedev) has no right to give instructions to the Central Bank. Our Central Bank is independent, but it turns out that not anymore. If the president’s order will be fulfilled as stated by Novak (the Central Bank gives money to the bank, the bank gives money to the Russian company for the construction of power plants in Crimea), then we get, what patriots of all stripes had long demanded: the Central Bank begins to finance the economic development of the country with its emission. This is a revolution. A quiet revolution.
http://fortruss.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/putin-wages-quiet-revolution-during-his.html
You don’t understand the legal meaning of “independent”. It is about as independent as Social Security or similar, just a delegation. You would not expect Putin to run the social security system in Russia himself, would you? Same goes for the central bank.
Now this direct financing via the central bank would indeed be a little revolution, we’ll see how it pans out.
The content is great, but the layout is absolutely horrible! Please do not highlight the links in blue. Please use the traditional format… The headers of the points should be in a slightly larger size , like 16 to 12. This format is causing me headaches.
Agreed, plus bolding is meant for emphasis, and continual bolding removes it’s purpose. The blue is like having strobes shine at you,and the text itself should be ‘as vineyard’.Even the black link markers on Saker are too much.A wobble on the link is enough to say it is live.
“April 06, 2015 “ICH” – “Asia Times” – A high-level European diplomatic source has confirmed to Asia Times that German chancellor Angela Merkel’s government has vigorously approached Beijing in an effort to disrupt its multi-front strategic partnership with Russia.
Beijing won’t necessarily listen to this political gesture from Berlin, as China is tuning the strings on its pan-Eurasian New Silk Road project, which implies close trade/commerce/business ties with both Germany and Russia.
The German gambit reveals yet more pressure by hawkish sectors of the U.S. government who are intent on targeting and encircling Russia. For all the talk about Merkel’s outrage over the U.S. National Security Agency’s tapping shenanigans, the chancellor walks Washington’s walk.”

This is at least 2 years old if not more.
Much too much – skimming quickly became jumping and then just page down to the end.
The Saker is not my only news source (Russia Insider for a start). It is things the Saker tells me are important that i will spend my time reading (and the 2 minute video you pass on regularly which is about the right length)
I’m Catholic. Thanks for telling me I’m not a Christian. It makes me wonder what I was doing at midnight Mass this weekend celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The catholic church in Vatican is satanic. It’s about the institution and how it handles the teachings, not about the poor believers captured by the institution.
You still have a chance to repent. You don’t need to be a part of any church to be christian. Remember where Christ said “pray in your still chamber alone”, “do charity in secret” etc. That’s exactly the opposite of what the satanic church does. Or let’s properly call it a bank.
Remember that Christ has forbidden usury and whipped the money-changers out of the synagogue, the friends in Vatican have forgotten that ages ago. Probably after too many deals with the mafia money-washers. Don’t even get me started on idolatry, symbols etc., which is absolutely obvious. Although most churches are a mixed bag regarding that.
The bible says: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them”
Tell that to the pope, preferably after he took off his ceremonial satanic robe with all those masonic symbols on it and after he stops worshiping that egyptian obelisk in his front yard.
great, super, THANKS

A lot of information here. But I prefer a written summary of the situation rather than a list of you tubes.
The url associated with an item does not need to be separated by white space, and if it is tucked tight, white space can do a better job of separating out and identifying individual items.
Indents might be a useful tool for sub-items if easily applied.
I find the blue highlighting distracting. It is overkill.
I like it. Quick, witty commentary, not a ton of extemporizing or proselytizing and replete with interesting, incisive links. I do like the regular digest wrapped in the bacon like goodness of Saker wisdom, but this presentation is very good.
You are recording history with these multiple brief reports in this long report.
I have seen blogs and forums come down doing this, some very revealing
history, down the memory hole.
This past history would be useful now.
See what Clark says above about Croatians and Storm.

Russia needs to put a stop to this now.
The layout is the reverse of normal. The headings are faint e.g. “Econ of Ukraine”-the following text is bolded and the link is an unnecessary clunky blue behemoth. No use of whotespace to seperate items.
It is excellent to have in any form and I find it workable but cluttered, annoying and easy to miss an item.
GoVLZb Normally I don’t learn post on blogs, however I wish to say that this write-up very pressured me to take a look at and do so! Your writing style has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice post.
Would it be recommendable to skip directing traffic toward tribal sites [google, youtube, facebook, etc.?

Daniel, do you know of any search engine in the world that has as good a coverage as Google? they cover the world better than ALL the other search engines put together. So we are to deprive ourselves of most of the internet, just to not patronise Google?
If we want to see what others are writing on social media, don’t we need to be looking at the actual same social media they use?
@ Kat Kan,
Life is about choices. That’s all.
Sorry Daniel, but your TOR is a useless non-alternative.

Have been following on your blog since it was “Vine yard of Saker”.
I could feel your effort and drops of intellectual sweat put into your reporting.
For me, colligation and inter-connectedness do interest me.
This SitREp is different from yours, Kind Sir.
Perhaps I shall get used to it after I do some fine tuning at my end.
No words in my arsenal could describe my admiration for your work.
All the best, all the way.
Kind regards
YW
Needs better formatting, subheading etc. It’s so hard to read and follow what’s written.
It’s a great start.
Dear The Saker,
Firstly thanks to the RA for the hard work researching the information for the SITREP and putting it together.
I have read all the above comments and as some of my thoughts have already been covered, I have nothing further to add.
Rgds,
Veritas
Excellent collection of information. One could spend all day reading the links.
It is understood quite well.
I guess the differences in font size due to the participation of several researchers.
Blue not only does not bother me but better highlights the links.
Maybe some mark / space to separate the issues?
Thank you very much, guys. Nice work.
Recall that is a SITREP, not an analysis or a literary work.
I think you should divide it into sections of separate categories of info. With clear headers.
To understand the latest slight by the swedes a day ago, refusing to attend the 70th anniversary, maybe out of pangs of a guilty conscience u need to know how the swedes made out like bandits, pretending to be neutral, in selling iron ore (shipped thru Narvik, Norway) & arms (Bofors, around since 1700’s),
Engdahl has had this up on his site since forever:
Because of Kiruna’s extreme location, there had been only two routes built to get the Swedish ore to export markets. The one route, by rail to the eastern Swedish port of Luleaa, on the Gulf of Bothnia facing Finland, froze over in winter. The only other export route, the only route in fact for almost half the entire year, was across Norway, to the ice-free port of Narvik on the Atlantic, and from there by ship along Norway’s coast to the north German ports.
But then so also the ‘neutral’ swiss sold their Oerlikons.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States plans to locate in the future 60 percent of its military fleet in the Pacific-Indian Ocean area, the US Defense Department said in a press release.

This is great work! From having done this before, I know how much time and energy goes into this sort of research. It would be great if someone could put a little time into formatting this into a more friendly form. This change is very welcome – needs a bit of tweeking.
No offense intended to the research assistant, but I found this not very easy, or pleasant, to read.
This struck me more as a series of headlines, Twitter-style “tweets,” and excerpts, rather than real prose.
I’ve come to enjoy The Saker’s writing style, with its recurring minor grammatical and wording errors and all (that help give it personality ;-). But of course I understand he’s probably got a lot on his plate and can’t always do everything himself…
Would it be too much though to ask though that the SitReps be something with sentences and paragraphs and all that actually flow together as a coherent narrative?…
yes, I prefer a personality in there. Not so many facts, more opinion.
Nice. Researchers, thanks for the news. I especially enjoyed Kiev’s maps of the laughable attack on Crimea– and on Russia, no less.
My only suggestion: Throughout pro-Russian sites I am often initially confused about whether “militia” refers to UAF or NAF.
very, very informative, thank you RA’s but I Miss your analytical summations, Saker
plenty of info including my requested economic info. Seems those crazy ziocons are planning on crashing the world economy . . . Again. Thinking they’ll take down Brics with them. I wish people would wake up!!!
Very good information review
the comment about putin laughing at the reporter is roughly 1 year old. although good to be reminded, current articles as opposed to the recycled should be flagged to keep the discussion in the present.

Saker, this is a good post but in my opinion it is not a sitrep, it is a news digest. News digests are incredibly useful and you should definitely post more of these (kudos and thank to the RA(s) who made this), but these digests should not take the place of sitreps (written by the Saker or someone else). I think a news digest like this one is the raw material with which to create a sitrep. To my thinking, the key feature of a sitrep, at least as the Saker has accustomed us to think of one, is that it contains relatively detailed analysis of news items and possible courses of development. A digest, on the other hand, simply lists the headlines, links to the story and maybe provides a few comments. What makes the Saker’s sitreps (as opposed to a mere news digest) so valuable to me is that (1) they usually have a rich halo of context around the reported events and (2) they usually lay out the likely or possible paths of development events can take. Without those two factors, it’s not a proper sitrep in my book. But again, a news digest can be just as valuable, or more so, than a sitrep, so overall I really like this post and hope to see more like it in additional to traditional sitreps.
So many comments! Greetings to you all, from me, a 2nd RA – Duff. I haven’t had a moment to reply earlier, say hello and thank you for all your contribution in shaping future sitreps.
It is overwhelming, isn’t it? The raw material posted by Scott also shows how many news from Novorussia, Ukraine and Russia does not exist in “western” MSM. It’s not easy to decide what to choose from vast ‘non existent’ Russian speaking media space, because It is rich and colorful, contrary from what ‘they’ say.
I guess, it would be useful if you post particular questions or requests, which we can then focus more.
Cheers
Thank you all for the useful and insightful reviews. I fully agreed to those of our esteemed readers who evaluated our new Ukraine SITREP as witty, informative, and great. To those who question our format, we promise to adjust it and to make it look gracious and easier to read without losing the dynamism in delivery of the overflow of information.
Eventually, we want to turn our Ukraine SITREP into a must read for everyone interested in the situation in Ukraine, Russia, Europe, and beyond.
I have created the list of all of your suggestions. We will work through them, making sure that none of the precious gems of your wisdom and experience is lost.
We, the RAs, want to keep the channel of the communication opened. Please, keep in mind, that you all are the contributors and members of thesaker community. Your option and suggestions have as much validity and power, as ours.
Cheers
Well, if i want to read facebook or twitter i would use their pages. But i really want to read your blog as part of the web with readable texts (and maybe mixed with some pictures or videos). Thus no need for any so-called hashtag. And, yes, using HTML it is indeed possible to make links refering to anywhere in the digital world to be still readable.
The point is: awareness consists of words, of sentences – only. No words, no awareness.
Please, dear Saker, advise your assistants to write texts, complete sentences. If someone is not able to read or write texts (of some 100s of pages), how should he or she build up his or her mind?
Thanks in adance
This report is packed full of info and sources. A little rough around the edges, but overall, well done.
Excellent summary.
Needs a subheading for each news item, preferably bolded
This is an asymmetric warfare of Russia against the active role the Jews and Israel plays in the Ukrainian catastrophe. Is the war of Israel against Russia enters it’s open phase?
I’ve noticed Russian media is more critical of the zionazis now than they used to be, especially Sputnik and RT. Since the zionazis have hooks deep into almost every western country, the Russians have avoided taking on the brain of the beast head on so far to avoid having to face a unified zionazified west all at once. Remember what happened in 2007 when Putin lambasted pindo unipolar goals and lawlessness? That’s when the ZPC/NWO war on Russia/Putin went overt and the hate hysterics really started snowballing. If the Russians did the same to the zionazis, the negative response would 10 times what it is now already. My guess is the Russians have a less direct way in mind to zap the beast’s brain.
