Do you know the feeling when a sentence just jumps at you from a page? This is what happened to me today. I was reading a post on RT entitled “Russia wants answers on NATO troop movement in Eastern Europe” when I suddenly saw this:
The statement comes after the USS Truxtun destroyer started a military exercises in March with the Bulgarian and Romanian navies a few hundred miles from Russian forces of the Black Sea Fleet.
Yeah. Typical. While Russia freed the people Crimea from the imminent danger of being literally occupied by Uniate Neo-Nazis “Banderites” Russia’s “Orthodox brothers” were busy training with the US and NATO in the Black Sea.
Personally, I fully and totally agree with Ms Nuland and I think that Russia should – and will – turn to Asia (central, south and east) and Latin America for its future.
With such friends as “Slavs” (think Poland) or “Orthodox” (think Bulgaria), who needs enemies?
Serbia is the only real friend Russia ever had – or will have again – in the West.

Looks like the zionazis have already started infiltrating their Ukrainian bum slaves into Russia – who managed to get caught right away.

Yes, but you have to separate the people from the ruling class. This is worth considering about the situation in Bulgaria:

So it’s time for Russia to fund a color revolution there. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Saker,
you seem to be under impression that these countries are free to do, what they want, instead of being colonies with puppet governments.
As a western Slav, (not a Pole though) I do not see how could I influence our own government to do something sensible (not only wrt Russia, but in general). When EU says “jump”, we ask “how high”, because otherwise there would be “consequences”. We certainly do not have our own foreign policy (or economic policy, for that matter).
However, one thing that really worked very well on our nation in the past, is propaganda. It is basically a political suicide to be seen as friendly towards Russia, because “Russians precipitated us into communism” and “Russians invaded us in 1968”.
Most people never realize, that they may be controlled not only by military force, but also economically, culturally, and ideologically.
Saker, following your analysis of the situation between the West and Russia, I wonder what you make of the NATO exercises in Eastern Europe?

I still think that the West wants war and will utilize any pretext to fight it in Europe – specifically Baltics, Poland, Ukraine. I do not think this war desire is significantly different than that of Imperial England 100 years ago. The mobilization timetables of the Great Powers and Russia triggered World War I and World War III will be triggered by NATO needing to prop up failing Western currencies and continuing it’s model of plunder politics.

Dear brother Saker,
You said “I think that Russia should – and will – turn to Asia (central, south and east) and Latin America for its future.”
I read a biography based on interviews with Putin, where he clearly states that Russia is and will remain European. Do you think he has changed his mind?
Best regards
Dear Saker,
Increasing numbers of us in the UK are also seeing through the establishment’s lies. Farage (who talks openly about his respect for Putin) has just won his latest TV debate by a very large margin, 4:1 over the liberal democrat EU stooge.
The West is willing to buy Eastern Europe’s loyalty, and they are willing to sell it. The losers? Potentially Russia, but in reality, anything that diminishes their focus on empire is actually good for Russians. Absolutely the taxpayers of the West are the real losers.
Russia’s strength will come from its attractive economy which will entice the neighbors to want to do business with them. Russia should try to outlast the Neocons who are on their last legs in America and elsewhere (essentially, the Jewish Baby Boomers are getting long in the tooth).
Don’t fall into the trap of empire, but build the economy and defensive alliances. Use soft power as much as possible. Putin’s next major victory will be when he takes the Eastern Ukraine electorally during a stumble by the puppet government in Kiev, again, without a shot.
Dear The Saker,
I also noticed in the news today that Russia has complained about the US navy being in the Black Sea for over 21 days – which breaks the laws and agreements that all non black sea countries cannot be in the Black Sea for more than 21 days…..says it all….they really want to get a war going.
The Bulgarian population don’t seem happy with their Govt. I think – following demos the other day. The Poles are a different story – they seem to be one of the main drivers in this whole conflict so being Slav means nothing sadly…..

How different it is in Czech Republic and in Serbia!
In Serbia it would be a political suicide to be seen as UNFRIENDLY to Russia!
I was watching with a smile on my face the new Serbian pro-EU government facing pressures from Bruxelles to vote against Russia in the UN. Of course, they had to say that “under no circumstances” will Serbia ever vote against Russia. And they did not. Otherwise, they would face a revolution or military coup.
What I am most shocked with is how Montenegro voted against Russia. Montenegro only exists because it was getting money from Russian czars during Ottoman occupation. I am certain that at least 75% of population of Montenegro sees Russia as a friend. But the regime there is unbelievably treasonous. Russia should definitely do something about Montenegro.
12:34 I am wondering if all this “war-fever” on the part of America’s puppets in Eastern Europe — well, Western Europe and the US as well — may not be a rather clever way of diverting the attention of their increasingly-impoverished citizens away from just how bad things are getting for them. Ginning up old hatreds and fears may not put food on the table but it does direct the anger away from those living well at the expense of everyone else. And there’s always work to be found as a soldier plus, of course, the MIC needs to sell all its products and get ever more funding.
@ Afterthought–“… Neocons who are on their last legs…”
The Neoliberalcons are just the latest manifestation of virulent US Imperialists who’ve been in charge of the Empire for most of its existence, and they aren’t going anywhere. Oh sure, a few spots might change, but the underlying policy drive of Expansion at all costs will continue as it has since 1783.
Well, Saker, that’s nothing new, really.
Time to turn to the classics:
“…I want to say one very special little word about the Slavs, which I have long wanted to say. Russia will not have, and has never had such hateful, envious, slanderous and even obvious enemies such as they shall become as soon as Russia liberates them and Europe agrees to recognize their status. (…) I love the Slavs, but I will not defend my views, for I know that everything shall be fulfilled exactly as I say and not due to low and seemingly ungrateful nature of the Slavs, not at all – their character is no different than that of all the others. It is just that such things cannot happen differently in this world.
(…) This is something we simply have to prepare for. They will begin by scratching out some type of a guarantee of protection of their newfound freedom from Europe, England and Germany. And even though Russia shall be present in such concert of nations, they will do it specifically to protect themselves from Russia. They will start by convincing themselves that they owe no debt of gratitude to Russia and that, in fact, they have barely been rescued from Russia’s imperial designs by the Europeans; for were it not for the Europeans, the Russian colossus would tear them away from Turkey only to have swallowed them immediately, thus making them slaves to the barbarous, devious and greedy Russian tribe.
(…) Indeed, they will come to the point when they shall speak of the Turks more highly than of Russians.
(…) It shall become especially pleasant for the liberated Slavs to proclaim to the entire world that they are educated nations, capable of attaining the highest levels of European culture, while Russia is a barbarous, northern colossus, not even of pure Slav blood, and a vicious, hateful persecutor of European civilization. They will, of course, immediately produce constitutional governments, parliaments, responsible ministers, orators and speeches. With all this they shall cheer and amaze themselves immensely. They will be ecstatic when reading dispatches about themselves in Parisian or London newspapers, which will mention that such and such government in Bulgaria has fallen and was reconstituted with a liberal majority, and that some Ivan Chiftlik has finally agreed to accept a president’s portfolio. Russia must be prepared for the fact that all these liberated Slavs will stampede towards Europe, and will become infected with European political forms to the point of losing their identities (…) In the meantime, all these little lands will eternally envy each other, fight each other and plot against each other. Although in moments of grave danger they will nevertheless turn to Russia for help.”
Dostoevsky.

You’re wrong. Don’t you remember that Russia has always worshipped Europe, in particular France. Russia is now and will be forever European.
What it is not is American… or British.

YES and THANK YOU for that, Saker.

Let’s not forget that the real Ukrainians are brothers.
@Orthodox brothers,
Romania is one of the oldest Orthodox countries, successors of Byzantium, to succumb to a concentrated assault of the West. The first major success was the imposition of the Unia in Transylvania occupied by the Austrians in 1700. Then the Masonic brainwashing of the political elites. Then the political integration in anti-Russian alliances. The turbulent history of Romania is consequence of this relentless assault and of the resistance against, resistance which appealed to Russia. Romania’s strategic position is too important for the “West” to abandon it as two World Wars have shown.

This is what the closing paragraphs of that article say:
The head of the Trade and Industry Chamber’s committee for financial markets, Yakov Mirkin, said that at present the international practice was to calculate oil and gas prices in US dollars as the international reserve currency. “We cannot swim against the current. This is how the whole thing works. Maybe such a thing will be possible in 10 or 15 years, but not today,” Mirkin noted.
Head of the PR department of the Russian state oil corporation Rosneft, Mikhail Leontyev, said that his company was bound by contract obligations and the fast switch to a different currency was simply impossible.
RT is good to have, great anti-dote to Western media, for the masses, but it contains just as much superficial propaganda as Western media, except in the other direction…
Honk
This is probably very naive and I certainly have no military background so perhaps should keep my thoughts to myself; but I can’t help myself. So here is it: Could Serbia become strategically important for Russia? Radar and missile interceptors based in Serbia in southern Europe and in Kalingrad Oblast in northern Europe could create a shield protecting Russia’s western borders. If this makes any military sense, is there hope that Russia will embrace Serbia and put her under its nuclear umbrella?
Hmmm….well I wouldn’t consider Bulgaria to not be Russia’s friend. It’s just that the current Bulgarian government being deeply indebted to the EU has to toe the EU line. However the Attack (Ataka) party in Bulgaria has threatened to bring down the current coalition government if Bulgaria ever supports further Western sanctions on Russia.
